This was a sweet and sexy follow up to Undone.

Luke and Embry have to overcome the toxic influence of his former student lay, Savannah (the fruitcake), her loopy ex, Jack (bit of a theme here) and her jealous friend, Jeremy while still keeping their relationship on the down low so there's plenty going on in this. I love this couple together and I also loved hearing Luke's pov in this.

There was more drama and less sneaking around but still plenty of smut. After the major problem they face at the end of the last book they take things back a few notches at the start of this one so we get to enjoy the delicious build up of them getting together all over again which built the pace nicely. The drama from the exes started to feel a bit repetitive at one point, but the chemistry between them saved it for me.

I've enjoyed these books. Recommended.

4.5 Stars!!

This book is part of a series and SHOULD NOT be read as a standalone- pick up Undone (book 1) and devour it (and you will) before reading this book.

– Warning this review may contain spoilers if you haven’t read Undone **see above- and then go and read Undone!

“Luke was the light to her dark, the calm to her storm. He balanced her, completed her.”

Ohhhh Southern Sexy Luke… how I have missed him! Author R.E Hunter does such an amazing job of writing a swoon-worthy, sexy (and even dirty) talking, book boyfriend! He is so amazing with Embry and the love he has for her is so easy to see, with the things he says and does. He really is “southern sex on a stick.” Plus the chemistry and sexual tension between him and Embry is AH-MAZING!!!

“She was his universe, his everything, his forever.”

After walking away from Luke at the end of Undone, Embry finds herself in a precarious situation with her best friend Jeremy. Things would be so easy if she could love Jeremy or be more than friends with him- because he clearly has feelings for her; but she left her heart with Luke. Thankfully Embry knows that Luke is who she needs and wants and even though she struggles with forgiving him, she knows she can’t move on without him.

“Forgiving someone doesn’t mean forgetting, but it means giving them the chance to move forward.”

Insert manipulative and crazy Sydney into the mix. After trying to hook her claws in Luke over a year ago, when he was her professor, she shows up at his doorstep claiming she has nowhere else to go. I saw through her right from the start and it was pretty clear she was bat shit crazy!

I liked that R.E. didn’t drag out the drama. It was there, in your face, and then resolved in one way or another. Some authors drag it out for way too long, and while it makes for a good conflict, it isn’t necessary and sometimes takes away from the overall story. I loved the conclusion to this book; I am a huge sucker for an epilogues. I think my only complaint was that I didn’t want Embry and Luke’s story to end. I also wanted an update on Morgan and Brett and even Jack; did he just slither back into the hole he climbed out of and didn’t ever try for more contact with Embry? Also, what about Jeremy…he deserves a happy ever after too. Hopefully we will get more from all these characters in another book or even a novella with updates.

“Without you, my heart would continue beating, but I don’t think I’d ever feel alive again. You give my life meaning.”

In Unbroken we see Embry and Luke try to put back together the broken pieces of their relationship after he finally drove them apart.

The characters are the same as before so, there are no major changes on that front.

I found the story lacking in some aspects and really good in others.

What I really liked was how Luke and Bree went about fixing their relationship. They actually took time to figure out what went wrong instead of giving into the attraction and behaving like nothing happened so, Kudos for that.

And Luke is so damn cute. Those Valentine’s Day rhymes, so hilarious.

Now, the things I didn’t particularly liked.

One would be them apologizing to each other all the time. I get it. They talked, they said how sorry they are, end of the story. Having them apologize for every small thing … I find it repetitive.

And you know what else bothers me? Skipping through large periods of time without giving us a clue about what went on during that time.

Dear authors out there who do the same thing in their novels. DON’T! Seriously.

It’s frustrating and it makes me, personally, want to give up on that particular book. I get it that it would be boring to get a day by day play but going from the present day to three, five or eight months later, and this repeatedly, without giving us at least a little amount of information on what happened it really is unappealing.

One more thing and I’m done. When you put a particular twist into the plot and make it sound important, try not to just brush it off later on like it didn’t really mattered. Either avoid it altogether or don’t put such an emphasis on it.

Case in point, Embry’s ex and her story with him.

While it was an important part of book one, here, it was dealt with in three or less pages.

In spite all this, the book wasn’t a total waste. The characters are interesting and funny and it’s nice to see a new aspect of Bree and Luke’s relationship. To see them evolve and grow stronger together.

You should definitely give it a try.

Yay yay yay *jumping up and down* it’s time for some more Southern Sexy!!! Whew!! I am so glad to get back to Luke and Embry! If you have not yet read Undone by R.E. Hunter please be sure to do so, this review may contain spoilers for book 1.

The story picks up right where we left off, Luke and Embry are broken up. He’s a liar, he lied and she’s pissed but can we really blame her?? The beginning of the book starts off very slowly. We are learning how they feel apart from one another and how they are handling this separation

Her heart ached for him, and she was starting to realize that no matter how far she ran, she’d never get away, in truth she didn’t want to. She was inexplicably tied to him. Bound.

Luke remains ever the Southern gentleman with his manners and his care for Embry. He still makes my heart melt.

He’d take it as fast or as slow as she needed, as long as she kept him around. She owned him.

I was kind of frustrated with just how slow it all happened. The two of them built us up up up with the sexual tension…and then threw a bucket of cold water on us. They agreed upon slow and Luke was sticking to it.

Luke wouldn’t sleep with her until she told him she loved him, which she did, but couldn’t bring herself to say it.

The drama in Unbroken will keep you guessing. There were some twists with Jeremy and Sydney that I did not expect, my heart raced a couple of times. I wasn’t quite sure where either of those stories was going to end up….and I loved that!

Luke and Embry have a LOT to figure out this time around. I loved that Embry was reallllllllyy thinking about it all, maybe overthinking it, but nonetheless she was trying to keep herself from getting hurt again. Luke did everything he could to show her, I fell in love with him even more this time around.

He’d gone above and beyond to prove himself, and she believed him. It was her own damn insecurity. She wanted a life with him, a future, and she was taking a big step toward having that.

Don’t miss out on this book girls…Southern Sexy will steal your hearts!

The story is the continuation of Embry and Luke's love story. It is started as an instant attraction, and it is a great sequel to the series. The story kept me interested in this book. In this book, there is a trial, some very sad moments, and happy moments.

Embry is returning home after leaving five years ago. She is a law student so she is smart, and sassy. She and Luke are taking a break because he lied to her. However, they do get back together. Luke, on the other hand is mysterious and hiding something. However, they have unbelievable chemistry, and it draws you in.

The ending is perfect. I was happy with the HEA that Embry and Luke had at the end. I am happy that . I need to read book three to find out what happens to Jeremy, one of Embry's closest friends. Overall, a great read.

Unbroken is a story of love but love without complications wouldn't really be love, or would it? This is the battle of the ex's and by the end you will be torn over which ex you hate the most!!!

Luke and Embry's story continues post "Sydney" and the sudden ending of Undone. As expected, Sydney-gate is the main focus of this book and each time you think Luke has dealt with her up she pops again like an interminable jack-in-a-box!

Jack is the other ex and a problem that Embry still needs to face once and for all but with Luke by her side what could possibly go wrong.

Morgan is again ever present to add the entertainment and the witty one-liners. I love that girl! Brett is another dream character and such a sweetie and I kind of wished at times that the story told this loveable couple's story instead!

I have to say I felt sorry for "Jer", I really wanted him to find his HEA. With a friend like him, what girl wouldn't be happy.

I loved this story but I also felt it was long winded at times. A lot could have happened in the story development but it fell a little short for me. Don't get me wrong, this is a sweet romantic tale with some ups and downs along the way but in between the hurdles were aspects to the story which fell a bit flat. I found things were only just getting interesting at 80% into the story.

Embry also had me torn. She is an atypical heroine and whilst I wanted to love her, she totally got on my nerves at times with her swinging emotions and treatment of poor Luke and I found myself shouting at her (in my head, of course).

All in all this was an enjoyable contemporary romance with some twists and turns along the way. Luke is a dream boyfriend and Embry is one lucky girl!

~Luke “I love you more than all the stars in the sky.”

In Undone, I fell head over heels for Luke “Southern Sexy” Brody. Once I found out that he had skeletons in his closet that could ruin his future with Embry, Undone ended and I waited sooooo long to find out if they could overcome this huge and unexpected obstacle thrown at them.

R.E. Hunter writes Luke Brody so well, and I love all the sides of Luke that she shows us. Alpha Luke fighting like hell to protect his girl, vulnerable Luke dying inside when Embry keeps herself at a distance, and my personal favorite – Southern sex deep fried in chocolate Luke. The sex scenes are so real, you could practically hear his seductive Georgia drawl and melt in his hands.

Embry came a long way from the scared girl she was for most of Undone. She does run away at first from her problems with Luke, but turns out to be the strong one in their relationship. We hear Luke’s thoughts, and while Embry is leery of Luke because of his past lies, Luke is scared to death of losing her. It’s a total 360 from the cool and calm attorney that exuded as much confidence as he did sex appeal.

I liked how the conflicts were real and faced with head on, not just misunderstandings to bring out angst. Luke and Embry had an all-consuming love that made things messy at times, but what I loved most about Unbroken was their resolve. Neither worked without the other, and they were determined to fight. However, when things started going too well, I had the feeling of a dark cloud looming - and I hoped Luke and Embry could be strong enough to deal with whatever upcoming disaster that was on the horizon.

I’m so sorry to see this series end. I loved the epilogue, but this can’t be the last of Southern Sexy! Poor Jeremy deserves a book, and I loved BFF Morgan’s smart mouth! I’ll take scraps of anything I can!

I had the pleasure of reading an ARC of the first book in this series...and it floored me that it was a debut novel from this author. Just a great book all around...but with a killer cliff hanger. Needless to say I was dying for the follow up to come out - and you can bet I one clicked this baby the moment I heard it was available.

I was definitely not disappointed. The follow up is even better than the first book. These characters are just so enjoyable - even when they are making poor choices. R. E. Hunter does a great job of filling this second half of the story with angsty situations while avoiding the really obvious and overdone ones. She surprised me with her ability to keep me rooting for Luke throughout - despite the fact that he makes some serious blunders along the way. It's not often I find myself understanding both points of view so clearly when the H/h are at odds. But even better - I love the mature way she has them work things out when they do run into issues. And the supporting characters are awesome. Everyone should have a best friend like Morgan. Crazy enough to add some comic relief but grounded enough to know just when to say what needs to be said - and always when it counts. And Jeremy? I'd love to see a follow up book for him - he deserves a HEA. What a great guy - I continued to love him even when he was being a temporary prick.

I don't want to spoil any of the plot so I won't go into more detail but I have to say I highly recommend both books in this series and I'm very much looking forward to more from this author. Although it's hard to imagine she'll be able to top Embry and her Southern Sexy!

After the way things ended between Luke and Embry in Undone I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book to find out what would happen next!! Once I started reading, I devoured it and didn't want to put it down. Would Bree be able to forgive Luke for the secrets he kept hidden from her? Would they find their way back to each other or will someone or something try to come between them once again?

 photo PicMonkeyCollage3-1.jpg

I still love Bree's best friend Morgan. That girl is a hoot! I'll cross my fingers that maybe in the future we can get a novella or something on how she and Brett got together just so we can get more on her.

Although I didn't want Jeremy and Bree together I still loved him. He was the perfect best friend for Bree and was always there when she needed him. He is such a great guy and deserves a HEA of his own. I can't wait to get my hands on his story and hopefully hear more on Bree and her Southern Sexy!!

Amazing job R.E. Hunter!! At this point, I don't care what you write about in the future....I can't wait to get my hands on it!!

Unbroken is a fantastic novel, full of twists!

It has romance, drama, love and sexiness that make this book and the series highly sensual and insanely attractive!

The story is as complex as it is simple. It is intriguing, intense and melts your heart and mind. It brings you up and tears you down. It is a ride you do not want to miss. This is a journey you have to follow through.

The characters grow both individually and as a couple. They get stronger and overcome every hurdle comes their way. It’s not easy, but then; what is? Certainly not love.

Embry and Luke have been through so much. And yet, their love is strong as ever. Even they think everything is lost. Even when things get dark and uncertain. Their love is still there. They are still there for each other. No matter what.

Embry and Luke’s love is breathtaking and absolutely mindblowing.

It is epic.

R.E. Hunter has given us a truly amazing couple and an even more amazing story. Thank you, Rose, for this magnificent series.

Unbroken gets 5 Huge Sparkling Golden Stars, because Embry and Luke’s love is unbroken, just like any other epic lovestory!!

Unbroken was the beyond perfect conclusion to Luke and Embry's breathtakingly beautiful and emotional story. I couldn't have asked for anything more than what I got from these characters in this book. They wowed me, they awed me, they literally gave me it all in this book. Unbroken completely solidified my fierce love for their characters, their heart squeezing story, and every thoughtfully crafted feeling, emotion, and experience I got with them in this phenomenal book. I have no doubt that their story in this book will stay with me in some way, shape, or form for some time to come, and even though it's only January, I know this will be one of my favorite books/series I read this year.

This book is that good. It's that fulfilling. It's that romantic, that filled with feels, that emotionally heart squeezing. It's everything. I am telling you that you will literally feel, experience, live and practically breathe everything that Luke and Embry do in this book. You'll feel it all, and you'll love it even when it hurts, because it's them, and it's real, and it's intense as all get out. All throughout this book you know that what they share is so beyond worth it, so worth fighting for, and so worth risking everything for, and that makes this book even more fulfilling because it gives you all of that and more.

The events of Unbroken pick up right after the events of Undone. You're thrown right back into the emotional thick of it, and it just works because after how Undone ended I so needed to know what was going to happen next. I needed more Luke and Embry in my life stat, and this book delivered that on all accounts. The events of Unbroken find both Luke and Embry reeling from what happened in the last book. They're both sporting some very heavy broken hearts, and they both crave each other like the they're the oxygen they need to breathe. The events of Unbroken force Luke and Embry to really examine what went wrong, their own missteps in it all, and the glorious possibilities of what might happen if they give it all another chance.

Just like Undone, Unbroken is a book about a lot of things. It's about pain and secrets, and the life changing consequences of both of those things. It's about hope and healing, and the fight you have to go through to see the light that those two things bring. It's about forgiveness and strength and the fiercest determination and fight, and the amazing things that can happen when you have all of those things in your corner. It's also about love. Soul reaching, heart melting, emotionally beautiful love, and the power and influence that love can have on you. It's about looking that love square in the face and deciding if it's all worth it, if it's worth the risks and the fear of the unknown and the possible heartbreak. It's about the possibilities of that love and the mesmerizing, intense, and utterly beautiful places that love can take you if you only give it a chance to.

Unbroken literally gave me everything I needed from Luke and Embry, and I truly can't say that enough. Even thought it hurt my heart so many times reading this book because of what those two go through within its pages, and there were many instances where I felt on the verge of tears and heartbreak right along with them, all throughout Unbroken I was with Luke and Embry and it truly doesn't get better than that. I was with them, hurting and healing and fighting and hoping with all I had just like they were. That level of connection was everything to experience, and it had me even more emotionally invested in them as I read the engaging and utterly captivating events of this book.

I think one of my favorite aspects of this book was getting into both of these dynamic and unforgettable characters heads, and being there through their evolution and emotional journey in Unbroken. I was thrilled at getting to see both of their perspectives, and this just strengthened the connection I felt towards their characters. I got them, I understood them, and felt immensely for them because I was able to understand all of their thoughts, feelings, and choices. I got why things were hard for them, I understood their fears and their hopes and everything in between, and all throughout this book I felt with them as they both tried to put the pieces of themselves and their relationship back together.

R.E. Hunter does an outstanding job of showing all that Embry and Luke go through, what they fight for, and all that they put on the line to try and be together in this book. Her writing brings it all to life in the most all-feeling and consuming way. I am telling you that the more you read this book, the more you will love and root for Embry and Luke and their journey together. You will love them, root for them, and care for them so fiercely with all you heart as they try to make it all work and get back to a good place.

I think one of my favorite aspects of this book and what their characters go through in this book is that neither Luke or Embry were afraid to take culpability for their actions. They both made some not so great choices that effected them both, and they both did and said things that they regretted, and even more they admitted it. They owned up to their mistakes, they fought with all they had to make it better, and even when they made a misstep or did something they'd later think back on as they evolved together, they never stopped being them, being honest, and being real people who tried to fix what they did wrong. They were honest and vulnerable and felt and experienced the most breathtaking level of emotion, and through it all they evolved, grew, and changed into some pretty amazing people. (Not that they weren't already amazing, but they truly just got better.) They were flawed and made mistakes, but they tried their best to make it right, and that made them even more real, and even more golden in my eyes.

This book had all of the wonderful aspects of Undone that once again enraptured me from start to finish in Luke and Embry's beautiful and heart squeezing love story. It had the same charm and effervescent spark that flew off the page. It had so many moments that melted me, had me swooning and blushing simultaneously, and had me smiling like a fool in the best possible way. There were so many times in this book when I didn't know what would happen next, when I was shocked and awed by it all and all that I was getting from Luke and Embry. There were so many instances when I wasn't sure if my heart could take much more, yet I just kept reading and kept basking in every immensely feeling moment they gave me because as much as it hurt me at times, it made me all better and insanely happy at others. It also had the absolute best level of varied and extremely well captured emotion and feeling that felt almost tangible while I read this book.

I also can't say enough good things about the supporting characters in this book. I love them all to pieces, and I want more of them in my life this very second. They were just as fantastic as before, and they added another amazing layer to an already outstanding story. Jeremy, Brett, and Morgan filled my heart immensely in this book with what they gave me. They were just as easy to love as Embry and Luke, and I heart them all to pieces.

Suffice to say this book had it all. It had the characters, the story, and the writing to make this another extraordinary read that hit it out of the park in every single way possible. R.E. Hunter's all feeling and beautiful writing once again crafted a story filled with everything that makes a book exceptional to read. I needed this book in my life after what she started in Undone, and she truly delivered on it all in Unbroken.

Luke and Embry are two all-around amazing characters that completely won my heart over even more in this book. He's still a southern charmer, and she's still a determined gem, and reading the two of them try to put it all back together again was everything. It was beautiful and romantic and filled with so much heat and connection, and even though it broke my heart more times than I can count, it literally gave me it all, and that everything was everything.

I seriously can't recommend these books to you enough. They are outstanding and amazing and phenomenal in every way, and you need to read them because it doesn't get better than what this book and its predecessor give you. So read these books. Please. Let them amaze you with all that they have. Luke and Embry are so worth it. Trust me.

Unbroken
by R.E. Hunter

Rating: 4 Southern Sexy Stars

Summary:
She was running toward her future. He was running from his past. When their worlds collided, nothing could prepare them for what was to come.

Reeling from Luke’s betrayal, Embry Jacobs is lost and looking for answers. His lies have ripped them apart, forcing her to question everything she thought she knew about the man she loves. But to give Luke another chance, she’ll have to forgive his lies and risk her already fragile heart.

Luke Brody’s past has finally caught up to him — in more ways than one. After losing the only woman he’s ever loved, he’ll do anything to get her back. But when he finally has the chance to make things right, unforeseen circumstances threaten to tear them apart once more.

When the truth comes out, will it set them free or break them both?

My Thoughts:

I am so happy that Unbroken is here! As you all know I absolutely loved Undone R.E. Hunters debut novel which is book one of the Disclosure series. I was dying for more of my #SouthernSexy!! R.E. Hunter sure knows how to write a great lead male. Luke is EVERYTHING that I want in a main man. He is intelligent, independent, focused, sweet, loving, and he sure is SEXY! He is also the Ying to Embry’s Yang. They really balance each other nicely…when they are together anyway.

Embry is very focused on school and making a career for herself. She is trying to get away from a past that keeps rearing its ugly head. She is smart, scared, hopeful, and in love. She fell for Luke and fell HARD. Which is why she is having such a hard time dealing with his absence. She loves him, but feels betrayed by him.

At the end of Undone we learn that she isn’t the only one with an ugly unwanted past…….. Sydney…..

When Unbroken begins we know that Luke and Embry are on the outs. She is going out of her mind and is lucky to have great friends who give her unending love and support. They help her through some very dark times. Morgan, Brett, and Jeremy are her rocks. Luke is also going crazy knowing that he has let the love of his life slip through his fingers. All because of a mistake that he can’t escape.

Throughout this story we learn about what happened in Luke’s past. We watch as he tries to remove the thorn in his side and start to right the wrongs that he has done. We watch Embry go through tough times and come out stronger in the end. Then we get glimpses of hope for their future. Embry is tormented by the back and forth she feels towards Luke. She loves him, but she is always waiting for the rug to get pulled out from under her again.

R.E. Hunter really puts us on a rollercoaster ride with Unbroken. So many ups and downs and quick turns. You think you know what is going to happen and then BAM wrong turn. There were many times when I was death gripping my e-reader or yelling NO!!!! It was a wild ride of heartache, pain, love, friendship, the unknown, and steamy hot southern sexy loving! There is one sexy scene in this book that made me all kinds of hot and bothered….Rose you know which one I am talking about :)

I can’t wait for all of you to read this book. You will not be disappointed.

We all need some Southern Sexy in our lives…. believe me on this one!

If I had to pick a conclusion for Bree and Southern Sexy's story this is 100% how it would go. Angst, Passion, Heartbreak, Love. All wrapped up in one mind blowing and perfect ending. I absolutely waxed poetic about book 1, Undone, and without a doubt R.E. Hunter is making me swoon to the max once again with her innate ability to make me fall head over heels in love with her characters and story. Unbroken picks up pretty much where Undone left off. I'll try to avoid spoilers, but it's looking pretty grim for Luke Brody and Embry Jacobs right about now. His lies have once again torn them apart and Embry is forced to weigh the hurt he's caused, and as the ability to cause, against her undying love for this man.

In short they don't have an easy road in Unbroken. A lot of trust has to be re-built, a lot of relationships are tested, and the monkey-wrench of all monkey-wrenches just won't take its skanky ass back to where it came from. Luke and Embry do a lot of growing in this book. It was a thrill to see them grow closer, and adjust to the changes they experienced. And good heavens I. NEED. MY. OWN SOUTHERN. SEXY. Imagine me pouting like a two year old. It's just not fair. This man, while he may have flaws, owns said flaws, has a dirty mouth that's oddly endearing, and is just a complete package. Embry, in all of her superwoman power, stands up for herself and is a great heroine to read. She's someone incredibly relatable and lovable. Together they're unstoppable. Until someone decides to try to ruin all their hard work. And to that I say - "Aww, you must be new here." Let me repeat myself - THEY'RE. UNSTOPPABLE. Didn't you hear me the first time? These two are the epitome of meant to be, forever and ever amen, enter all cheesy love stereotypes here. I mean their tenacity and all-consuming love just leaves no room for them to be apart. And I love it.

I love that they're obsessed, in a healthy way, with each other. I also love that they don't actually consume one another, so much as their love consumes them as a couple. It's hard to explain. Just know, these two are in the top 3 of my favorite book couples ever. Because while the sex is blush-worthy, and the two together can melt you heart, the story is also amazing. Every aspect of this book is a winner for me. And let us not forget that one of the best BFFs ever, Jeremy, is still expecting his story. Which he SO deserves. After this book, I feel like baking that man a cake. And I wouldn't be opposed to a prequel of how Morgan and Brett got together. That would sure to be a killer read as well. Basically, Ms. Hunter whatever you pen, I'll devour. As for now, Embry and Luke are leaving up the life with the sweetest, and most well-deserved HEA and I think everyone should march those one-clicking digits over and buy this AMAZING book!

Happy Reading!

3.5 Star Review
Review by Jen Hagen

This is book 2 in the series, and it is recommended that you proceed with this review only if you have completed the first book “Undone.”

Luke and Embry are at a crossroads following the realization that he was her professor and by the sudden forthcoming that he had dated a student before he came to New York. Embry wants to forgive him, but the fact of the matter is that he didn’t tell her the truth and that in itself is a lie by omission. How will she ever be able to trust him again? Not one deceit, but two -- that would be pretty difficult to forgive. Embry has spent this last week trying to forget Luke and numb the pain by drinking and partying with her close friend Jeremy. Jeremy is okay with being the shoulder to cry on, because he secretly harbors feelings of more than friendship for Embry.

Luke also is miserable, but he is numbing the pain with his bottle of Johnnie Walker at home. How would he feel to know that Embry is begging Jeremy to make her forget? I have always liked Luke. He is strong and determined, but yet still can be brought to his knees with the painful memories of Embry driving away from him with Jeremy at her side. He wants nothing more than to have another chance with Embry. He has been willing to give her space to think this through, but he still needs to fight for her.

“I’ll try harder, give you everything. I’ll spend every day for the rest of my life making it up to you, showing you that you didn’t make a mistake by giving me another chance. But if you don’t believe that, if you can’t let go and trust that I won’t hurt you again, then there’s nothing more I can do.”

There’s several obstacles in their path to happiness…One being ex-boyfriend Jack and the other is Sydney has arrived in town. Sydney is the student that Luke had a one-night stand with prior to his move to New York. Sydney is not content to stand by and watch Luke grasp onto his happiness with Embry.

“I want what’s hers.”

Let’s see -- we have Sydney…Jack…Jeremy. All of them are wanting to see Embry and Luke fail in their relationship. They all hold a stake in the potential for demise. But maybe Embry and Luke are stronger now than they were 4 months ago and they can handle whatever is thrown at them. But just when things are going well, Luke throws his own hat into the ring of demise.

Had those words just come out of his mouth? Her mind spun in every direction trying to make sense of what was going on.

The story is told in second-person dual point of view and that is always a treat for me to hear the male perspective and be part of his thought process. As much as I enjoyed the first book, I found myself not being able to connect with this story. The writing was excellent, but I just felt like the storyline was too predictable.

** BETH'S 4 STAR REVIEW **

Unbroken by R.E. Hunter is a great conclusion to Embry and Luke’s story in the Disclosure series. So, if you haven’t read Undone, stop right now and read no further as this review may contain spoilers for the first book.

Embry is a first year law student who has fallen in love with her professor, Luke Brody. But this is not the first time Luke has gotten involved with a student, something he kept from Embry. IN the end of Undone, Embry finds this out and after confronting him about it and him confirming it, she takes off with Jeremy her best friend for the week. Then in walks Sydney right at the very end, the student that Luke lost his teaching job in Georgia over.

Unbroken picks right off where we left in Undone. Embry has taken off with Jeremy to try to get some space and time to think. Her heart is broken, Luke broke them once again with his lies. But Luke is ready to fight to get her back and make this up to her. Although now add in a slurry mole, Sydney, and the best friend , Jeremy, that professes his love to her on top of their relationship being kept secret due to the fact he was her professor up until this semester. These two are in for a bumpy ride in trying to fix things and make it work.

I really enjoyed this conclusion to their story. The author really took it up a level from Undone with her character and story development. For the majority of this book, the author kept me engaged in their story and I found myself connecting much more with both Embry and Luke. And I really did find myself falling even more in love Mr. Southern Sexy. I really loved the flow of the storyline, it wasn’t drawn out but with them deciding to give it another try earlier on in the book, I was worried about where the author would take their story with so much left in their book.

Overall I must say I was pleasantly surprised with this one. I definitely enjoyed it a lot more than I had expected. I did enjoy Undone but I didn’t love it, it felt a bit “insta-love” and was drawn out. But with Unbroken, the author really did a great job taking their story up a couple of levels for me. I also must add that her writing has really come along since Unbroken and she kept me engaged in their story pretty much from start to finish. It was a great mix amount of swoon-worthy romantic moments, hot sexy panty wetting moments with just the right amount of angst and drama added in. It truly is a great conclusion to their story the I really enjoyed and now looking very forward to Jeremy’s story in Unburdened, I really enjoyed his character in this book and he really needs his HEA too.

★★★★★FIVE STARS for Unbroken by RE Hunter

Earlier this year, I started reading a book called Undone by an author I had never heard of because a fellow blogger told me I HAD to. She was so adamant I would love it that she gifted it to me. I figured- what the heck, it's a free book. But once I read the prologue, I could tell it was going to be something really special and I was hooked. I devoured the book in one sitting and wanted to cry once I realized there was a major cliffhanger and I would have to wait months for the continuation of the story. I needed it THEN! The story was so good that I couldn't get it and the characters out of my head.

So I've waited (really impatiently) for Unbroken, book 2 in the series. As I've waited, I started wondering how RE Hunter could possibly write a book as good as the first and hoped that it would live up to the expectations I've had in my mind. Let's be honest- a lot of times, the second book in a series, especially when it's the conclusion, doesn't live up to the hype and I hate when that happens.

But I'm so happy to say that she hit it out of the ball park with Unbroken- making me fall in love with the story and its characters all over again.

Unbroken starts with a bang, answering the question we've all been asking for months-- how Luke, our beloved Southern Sexy, found himself in the mess he was in at the end of Undone. I may not like what happened, but it was a LOT better than all of the different scenarios my mind had created while waiting. And I was so happy that I could still respect and love Luke and cheer him on while he fought to get Embry back.

That's all I'm going to say about the actual story because I HATE spoilers. I will say that the chemistry and passion between Luke & Embry is off the charts HOT. They've never lacked in that department for sure! And the way that Luke protects her and spoils her is absolutely swoon-worthy. But probably what I loved the most is how the two worked together to fight for their love, even when demons from their past tried to tear them apart. They really proved their commitment and love for each other in this book and it was so beautiful to read.

I cannot recommend this series enough. RE Hunter has a true talent and I cannot wait to see what she brings us in the future (preferably an update on our Southern Sexy *ahem*)!

The Southern Sexy is back! Nothing like a southern gentleman to get you going.

"'But in all seriousness, you can't deprive yourself of the southern sexy. That's why this is happening. It's the reason diets don't work. Deny yourself chocolate cake and all you want is that moist, chocolaty dessert. Refuse Luke and all you can think about...want...desire...is that sweet, southern goodness.'"

At the end of Undone, Embry faced betrayal from the man she loved. Now she is dealing with it. Or avoiding it, however you want to look at it. She has not dealt well with hurt before and her heart can deal with the pain. But if she forgives, she can experience that once in a lifetime kind of love.

"'All I want is to have your in my life, my bed, to feel your body beneath mine. Always. I'd give up the Dawgs, root for the Gators, and swear off macaroni n' cheese if it meant you'd be mine for the rest of my .'"

Luke betrayed the woman he loved and he kicking himself for it. Secrets should not stay that way with the ones that you love. Once he bears his soul to her, all he can hope is that she can forgive and move one. Plus he needs to protect what is his. And Embry has a way of finding herself in trouble. He will be there for her through everything that she needs him for.

"'You might as well just hand over your balls in a box, because you won't need them anymore. And I'm telling you, dude, you won't miss them one bit.'"

My heart broke for the two of them at the end of Undone. All I wanted was to see them make it through this. But when the past has a way of popping back in constantly, it puts them to the test. Once again, I kept guessing what was coming next but it twisted and turned that I never had it quite right. R.E. Hunter knows how to weave a story to keep you on your toes. My only critique is that there were a few spots that were a little slow for me. It always ramped right back up, but they were there. I do think that anyone will love these stories and if you are into the student/teacher romances, this is one for you!

I have been waiting for Unbroken since the moment I read the last page of Undone last January!! I was a mess!!! I'm not a fan of cliffhangers, but I have to admit that nothing compares to that feeling that I get when I start reading teasers online about the books that left me at the edge of my seat! It makes me want to read it even more! R.E. Hunter did a fantastic job with her debut novel, Undone, and the conclusion to Embry and Luke's journey was a rollercoaster of emotions and a delightful reading escape!

This second installment of the Disclosure series picks up where Undone ended. Embry and Luke's love journey took quite the unexpected turn when Luke's past came back to haunt them. Embry is left heartbroken by Luke's lies. Luke is determined to talk to Embry and he will do whatever it takes to get her back. Will Embry be able to forgive and forget and give their love a second chance?

Embry and Luke had a lot to talk about. When Embry found out what Luke was hiding, she was devastated. Yet, she can't forget about him and she is still madly in love with him. It broke my heart to see these two apart. What I loved about how their story was written is that they took their time to reconnect with each other. It felt like a new beginning and that is exactly what these two characters needed after all the obstacles that they had to overcome.

Luke was AMAZING!!! He took his time with Embry and he gave her the space that she needed. You could feel the attraction and the love that they had for each other, but the trust was broken. They had to take it one day at a time and rebuilt what was lost. Their journey was filled with unexpected twists and turns, but together they grew stronger and made it work.

I was really happy to reunite with some pretty awesome supporting characters. Morgan, Brett and Jeremy are all AMAZING!!! Morgan is a real sweetheart and she made me LOL so many times! Jeremy captivated me in this installment just like he did in Undone. My heart broke for him. I am so happy that the next book in this series is about him. I can't wait to see who will steal his heart!

I give, Unbroken, by R.E. Hunter 4 Southern Sexy, love-conquers-all stars!

4.5 Southern Sexy Stars

There are some things worth waiting for....Thin Mints in Feb., the Iditarod in March, Pumpkin Spice EVERYTHING in Oct., and 2nd Disclosure series from R.E. Hunter. I have been waiting, none too patiently, for this one. You might remember my RANT about the cliffhanger at the end of Book 1. Fear not. No cliffhanger at the end. But plenty of cliffs in the middle.

Warning: This is the second book in the series. DO NOT read the second without reading the first. No, really, don't event think about it.

Embry is a law student who fell for her professor,Luke. A sexy Southern drawl of a professor. When we left Luke and Embry, they were in the middle of a huge fight over his lie of omission. A walking-talking-show-up-on-your-doorstep Lie of Omission. Embry is determined to put her best foot forward and not let Luke see her hurting.

But if she had to see him, she could at least do it with her head held high and a damn cute outfit.

Embry has her priorities. As Embry and Luke get back together and forgive each other, they deepen their commitment to each other. If Embry would just leave the past in the past. She can't stop spouting off whenever she gets mad. Get over it sweetie!

Luke is the same sweet talking guy he was in the first book. He is funny, sexy, protective and prone to fits of anger, guilt and poetry.

The Dawgs are awesome.
Gators suck.
No more Valentine's
It's time to ____

But even if they could leave the past behind. Their pasts keep popping back up. They both have some cra-cra exes in the picture. But they also have great friends. And one that walks the line between cra-cra and great.

If you were as frustrated as I was with the end of the first book, you will be as happy as I am with this one. The story is satisfying, complete, fun, sassy, emotional, and all with a Southern drawl.

This is romance at its best. Unbroken is sexy, seductive, love-beats-all, we’re-in-it-together, can’t-be-stopped, heartwarming romance. R.E. Hunter has outdone herself with this sequel. By the time I read the words “The End”, my heart was full and my emotions spent. Dare I say, getting to the end of Luke and Embry’s journey was much like the euphoric release one experiences during the big “O”. The slow burn and seduction of a well told story. The spike in adrenaline during the climactic rise. Then finally, the pay off, the satiated, toe tingling rush coursing through you when reaching that ultimate high. In my head, I was screaming ‘yes, yes, yes!’ These two amazing, strong people held together and as a team confronted and defeated the obstacles in their lives. This is love.

“I don’t work without you, Embry. I never have, and I never will.”

When we last saw Luke and Embry, I had no clue how they were going to recover or which direction their story was going to go. My heart was hurting for them, my mind going crazy with all the possible scenarios. I was ecstatic that we didn’t have to wait long to see them find their way back to each other. That’s not to say that Ms. Hunter didn’t twist me in knots. On the contrary, my stomach and nerves pitched in quite a few places. Embry had to learn to let go of the hurt and decide to trust Luke again. Luke was noticeably sorry for all the pain he caused her and tried his damndest to make it up to her. Then there were the outside forces working against them. Old demons that needed to be dealt with. Her past. His. At one point, my heart was in my throat. Unbroken kept me on edge till the very end.

He’d broken her down, shattered her, then put her back together again.

It is rare when a sequel can surpass the first book, equal footing yes, but to exceed book one doesn’t happen often. R.E. Hunter has accomplished that feat. If you haven't yet picked up this series, what are you waiting for? Get to it!

“My home’s right here, Embry…As long as you’re there, I’m home.”

Unbroken picks right up where Undone left off – thank heavens! I couldn’t wait to start reading this book so that I could find out what was going to happen next to Embry and Luke. They are definitely a couple that you want to see come out on top and happier than ever. With all of the obstacles and deceptions that took place at every turn in their relationship, they never seemed to get dealt a fair hand. And with the way the last book ended…I was left screaming on the inside.

The book starts off with Embry being broken hearted, drinking too much, and staying with her friend, Jeremy (a dangerous combination). Luke isn’t faring off much better. The two of them are still so in love, so hurt, so desperate to be together again. But Embry has her reasons for turning away from Luke. After all, he hasn’t always been honest and forthright with her. And Luke sometimes wonders if maybe Embry would be better off without him. Nooooooo!

R.E. Hunter did an incredible job of continuing Embry and Luke’s story. With all of the turmoil that took place in the first book, the author didn’t take the easy road, sugar coat it, and have everything just fall into place perfectly. Oh no, the tension, the hurt, the angst, and all of the obstacles continued at full throttle during this book, and I, for one, couldn’t have been happier.

Unbroken is a fast paced book that takes you on the whirlwind ride of Luke and Embry’s relationship. A relationship that has seen more ups and downs than a trampoline, but one that will be worth all of the heartache and suffering in the end. The story is very well written, capturing all of the heartfelt emotions with every turn of the page. Filled with angst, fantastic characters, and plenty of swoon-worthy moments, this series is must read for any romance fan.

Unbroken is the anticipated conclusion of the Disclosure series by author RE Hunter.

Fans of book one, Undone, have been anxiously awaiting the next dose of Southern Sexy, and believe me, it was well worth the wait!

Book Two picks up right where the first one left off – it’s New Year’s Eve, and Embry has just painfully walked away from the love of her life, Luke Brody, and into the arms of her trusted friend Jeremy. Luke is reeling from Embry’s departure when his past, Sydney, knocks on the door.

Luke and Embry are a favorite couple of mine. They are intelligent characters who both recognize not only the hurt that has passed between them, but also the undeniable attraction that neither of them can ignore. There is a fair amount of back and forth – will they or won’t they be able to make this work – but despite the outside forces pressing in on both of them (Jack and Sydney pull out all the stops), Luke and Bree’s commitment to one another, coupled with the maturity of their relationship, made for a refreshing read. Like most couples, Luke and Embry have their struggles and their disagreements, but these are intelligent characters who have the insight to step back, examine their reactions and the reasons for them, and ultimately reconcile when trouble arises.

I’m a sucker for an HEA, and Unbroken did not disappoint there either. It was clever and playful, which is characteristically Luke and Embry. It left me with a smile, and a little sadness that the story of Southern Sexy and his beautiful girl has concluded.

Five bittersweet stars.

Rating: 4 stars

Unbroken is the follow-up novel to Undone as we follow Embry and Luke's intense student/professor relationship. Undone provides us with Embry and Luke's character development regarding their history and the beginning stage of their relationship. Unbroken in my opinion involves more heart and detail than Undone because we're getting the "meat" of situations in the heat of the moment. Interactions involving secondary characters are more intense and raise my angst radar (Jeremy, Jack, and Sydney). We get the privilege from RE's writing to fully understand why decisions are made and I appreciate the lack of impulsiveness. We're provided a thorough break down including feelings involved and connections to previous events that have effected their decisions. RE gives us two independent and determined main characters. It was humorous to watch their battle of wills, as we have Luke being the fixer and Embry the nurturer, which are both very protective roles. I have enjoyed the Disclosure series journey thus far, and I am very much looking forward to Jeremy's book (Unburdened) which releases in 2015. Give this a try and find your next book crush!

4.5 stars. Luke has a lot of making up to do with Embry and he makes it his mission in life. As combustible as they are together, I liked seeing them try to work through their problems together as a couple because even though the love is there, no question about it, the trust has to be rebuilt. Embry also has to face her past and move forward. Luke has his own past to deal with as well. They have so much to face between the two of them, on top of being committed to each other, that their relationship is put to the test. I adored how Luke put Embry first all of the time. Even though he made some big mistakes in the past, it was never with malintent or to purposely hurt her. Embry develops a little more in this book, having to deal with Jack gives her more courage and also the ability to believe in Luke. As side characters, I really loved Jeremy, Brett and Morgan. While the past cannot be changed, they are in charge of their futures and it's a risk that Embry and Luke take together but Luke is there every step of the way for Embry and I liked that they were such a united couple.
