Lizzy, the beloved secret obituary writer of Cutlip, Montana, has planned every detail of her spring wedding to Jackson, her detective fiancé.
Just as Lizzy hits Enter to confirm the last details of her wedding plans, she receives a strange email demanding that she quit her job as the town’s secret obituary writer or her wedding will be a disaster.
Will Lizzy be forced to surrender the job she loves? Can she and Jackson catch this crazy hacker in time? And what will become of their dream wedding?
The Secret Obituary Writer Book Three is a delightful read that’s equal parts suspense and humor with a love-conquers-all HEA that will leave you cheering.
The mystery behind the "secret" obituary writer continues with this exciting third book in the series. Interspersed with unusual-sometimes shocking, sometimes funny-obituaries, clandestine meetings, and colorful characters, this is a wonderful story about life and the unexpected. Memorable characters help deflect, correct, and even improve original plans of the secret obituary writer's wedding plans showing the good and unselfishness of the community. I loved the tension and how different people handled challenges they faced. This is a book to be savored and help us appreciate outcomes (both good and bad) in our own lives. A wonderful series and I have enjoyed the obituaries interspersed in each book. I hope there will be more stories in the future.
I borrowed this book from Kindle Unlimited F20 and M30 strangers marry within a year; the three books' length equals to that. Everything about the wedding cried extravagance, including the handfuls of petals thrown in the aisle (BTW, who's going to pick those up afterwards?). I lost all empathy with the 8,000 sq. ft. on 20 acres of land "cottage" prepped for the honeymoon. The fact that the wedding had to be perfect in all things got to me as there were so many repeats of this; it seems she was in love with the wedding, not so much the groom, even though they said it enough to be cheesy. The priority was not at the right place. The tears came back in abundance and I couldn't take it anymore. One time she screamed and that was an extreme response to what was going on. The Christianity looked good on paper but there was no faith about the wedding and they actually believe in old wives' tales. I really loved how the town came together and that was the saving grace about the story. Editing needs another pass: plural vs. possessive, etc.
The Secret Obituary Writer IS an excellent book and a fantastic addition to the first two books. However, I read this with kindle unlimited and don’t feel quite generous enough to write much of a review. Pardon me while I race to Amazon and purchase this book to add to my own collection. Because I can guarantee that I will want to read it again and again! Probably starting with book one very soon!!!
Unbelievable! 😵💫 Lizzie is planning her and Jackson’s wedding when a hacker makes an attack through her email. At first she doesn’t believe it. Then he started showing her how he could completely ruin the wedding of their dreams if his blackmail wasn’t done. Each thing he did was worse than the one before. But, our God still prevailed. This is a “hold your breath” read almost all the way through. And the wedding…well, get the tissues and get started reading!
The best of the three! So much emotion in this book. I think I cried the last 75 pages. My heart broke with each new “surprise” and tears fell with Lizzie’s own. I loved how everyone came together to make it all work out. This series is on my favorites list.
'The most powerful words are those left unspoken' describes the theme of this book so well. As Lizzie and Jackson face their final challenge before their wedding, they focus on the importance of a Godly pure relationship, family and the town which shows their love with actions.
This great book is a combination crime mystery, comedy, and small town romance. The story is perfectly presented. The characters are completely believable and lovable. It's one if those books you not want to stop reading once you've started it. What a great author!
What a page turner and great wrap up to this series.
What a suspense filled ending to this series. And I love that the author wrapped it up by showing how wonderful people can be to each other. What a great community Cutlip turns out to be. Great series.
Just the name of this book alone intrigued me. What a delightful read - part romance, part mystery, part detective story with enough surprises to keep you on your toes. Definitely worth the read!
3.5 stars. I thought the plot was great, and the book a fitting finale to the series--but I got distracted (or continued to be, as book 2 suffered the same) by a lot of grammatical errors that could/should have been caught, imho. The unfortunate downside of being an editor ... :)
A crazed hacker is interfering with Lizzy's wedding. Jackson, her fiancé, is a detective and is hard on the trail of the hacker. It all works out at the very last minute.
