He is stunned to learn their mating is her reward for accepting the challenge of bringing hope to all civilized peoples, but he isn't so sure who is being rewarded feeling she is getting the better end of the deal until he ends up separated from her. Realizing his error he must find a way back to her while leading his people in embracing the changes she brings to everything and everyone she encounters.
