After Liz is kidnapped by traffickers and rescued by the police, she thinks the nightmare is over... Then her sister is kidnapped.
After being rescued, Liz goes home to her Amish community with a new sense of courage, finally ready to tell her lifelong friend Simon that she loves him. Little does she know that he also secretly loves her in return.
When Liz's fourteen-year-old sister Annelise goes missing while walking through the woods after school, Liz is convinced traffickers are targeting their community again.
Detective Theo Kingsley shows up to investigate, but he quickly realizes he needs Liz's help. The neighbors are reluctant to answer questions from police, so Liz not only offers to gather information for him, but she offers herself up as bait, willing to be kidnapped again and wear a tracking device so she can lead the police to the kidnappers and her sister.
Theo rejects her idea at first, but when another Amish girl goes missing, he comes to realize that letting Liz go undercover may be the quickest way to find the missing girls and arrest the predators.
Simon can't stand the thought of her being in danger again, but he also knows that Liz will do anything to find her sister--even if it means that she is never seen again.
Liz is once again thrown into the dark depths of the dangerous world of trafficking as she helps The Covert Police Detectives Unit locate the survivors...if she can make it out alive again.

Thank you Ashley Emma for allowing me to read an ARC of Amish Espionage. I was not ask to give a positive review. All opinions are my own. Publication date is April 30, 2024. This a story of human trafficking and how they can come into a community and find a way to kidnap young people with lies! Amish communities are very vulnerable and this story tells of how one young women fights against them! I give this story 5 stars and hope everyone will give it a read!
Amish Espionage is Book 8 in Ashley Emma’s The Covert Police Detective Unit Series. It is about human trafficking in an Amish community. The two just don’t seem to fit do they? Just emphasizing that even in small quite Amish community bad things can happen.
The characters Liz, Simon and Anna have been friends all their lives. Everyone assumed Anna and Simon would marry one day, but there is a difference in friendship love and love. It is really Simon and Liz that have been afraid to express their feelings for each other. All the characters in this story is well developed and very believable.
The topic of human trafficking is very realistic and sadly a very current problem. This is a story that is very detailed and you can really get absorbed in the plot. You learn from this storyline.
If you like suspense mysteries this is the book for you. Preorder your copy of this 5-star book today.

Amish Espionage, the eighth book in the Covert Police Detectives Unit Series, returns us to the Amish Community of Unity, Maine. The wonderful people of this community live up to its name as they ban together to comfort and encourage each other as the evil of kidnapping for human trafficking targets their peaceful world. As in all her books, the author paints an authentic picture of the Amish people and lifestyle. Amidst all the criminal drama, a sweet friends-to-more romantic relationship buds between the two main characters Liz and Simon. I think fans of Amish fiction will like and appreciate this story. Note: Although this book is part of a series, it can be read easily as a standalone. I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher with no obligation to write a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This series is an outstanding series of trafficking, love, happiness, danger and God always with you. This is a different person seeing all the tragedies of being captured for the trafficking evil people, and the love story behind it. They are all joined together from book to book. I am not a detective reading person, but I read all 8 of them in a matter of a month. The only withdrawal now is I have to wait for the 9 th one Ashley Emma has out done herself with this series.
Liz had been kidnapped by traffickers and rescued by police. Then her little sister is kidnapped. They can not find her and Liz volunteers to let herself be kidnapped. The police really don't want to do that, but they finally get her wired up. This story tells some of Liz's past experience and then the story of more Amish girls being kidnapped. Interesting story, as all of The Covert Police Detectives Unit Series have been. I received this as an ARC and this is my honest opinion.
This was a very powerful book to read. It had to do with Human Trafficking in the Amish Community. Liz, Simon and Anna have been friends since early childhood. Then Anna gets kidnapped. Then Liz gets kidnapped by the same bunch. Their friend Maria was their also and helped them. Then Liz's sister and her friend disappear. This was a very compelling story . I loved it
I literally read this book in 1 day because I couldn't put it down! Can't wait to read the others in the series, this is an action packed easy flowing easy reading book if you like Amish stories with some excitement this book is for you!
This is a very good Amish suspense novel. I feel it’s really interesting to read about the Amish and their lifestyle and this is a good example. It also included kidnappings which really added interest to the story. If you’ve never read an Amish story I highly recommend them and one of Ashley’s.
Love the books on trafficking. It is a big problem not many are aware of. I did not like the repeat of another book in it. Seems the story could have been brought in with another person's views rather than repeating the story.
This was a very wonderful book to read and it kept you on the edge of your seat. I am so glad that Simon and Finally got together. Love books like this with happy endings. Ending
