Alexandra 'Alex' Walton has the life she always wanted for herself. A stable career with plenty of advancement opportunity, Paige, her best friend of a decade as her roommate, and best of all, her amazing boyfriend of three years, attorney Ryan Stewart.
One night Alex and Paige are out having some harmless karaoke fun, when a unreal opportunity presents itself. With her best friend by her side every step of the way, Alex takes on this new experience to see her dreams could really come true. To be the lead singer of a rock band is not a position you are offered every day. Especially a band that has entered a showcase competition, where the grand prize is the chance to open for a multi-platinum selling group of rockers that is currently on a worldwide tour. That famous band is also fronted by none other than the sinfully sexy, Noah Dreagan, who seems to be drawn to Alex, and emits an energy that could easily pull her in.
Battling nerves and insecurities, Alex digs deep inside to find a confidence she had long forgotten, and embarks on a journey that leaves her questioning whether she still believes that everything happens for a reason.

First book in this series and the first that I have read from this author. I really enjoyed it. Great characters with a great rock star romance storyline. It will be hard to put down once you get started. Can’t wait to read what is next in this series.
I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
When Alex is approached by a scout after one of her performances, she's astounded. She can't believe he's offering her the path to her dreams of being a true blue rockstar! But will her boyfriend get in the way of her dreams? Can he handle her newfound fame and lifestyle?
Destiny is a great start at what promises to be a fun rockstar story. I'm not sure where Alex and band are headed, but if the story continues in the same vein as Destiny, I know I'll end up loving it as much I did the first part.
When it comes to rock star romances I’ve certainly read my fair share of them and found much to like about this series starter that set itself apart from the crowd. With the release of this first installment in the Last Moment series a woman goes from singing karaoke to singing onstage in an exhilarating journey that captivated me after a somewhat slow start. With each turn of the page though the action and emotions intensified to leave readers on the edge of their seats courtesy of a cliffhanger.
Alex Walton has always loved singing, but it’s always been just a hobby, something she reserved for after work hours as she could never see herself being a success at it. One night at a karaoke club though changes everything for her as a talent agent offers her the chance of a lifetime....to be the lead singer of a newly-formed band ready to enter a competition. It’s a competition that will have the winner as the opening act on a tour with a popular rock band. It’s a moment that changes everything for her, and those closest to her, and the first step in a journey that readers get to be a part of every step of the way. Alex is a likable heroine with a lot of hidden talent just waiting to be unleashed on the world. She’s full of uncertainties, full of self-doubts too, but luckily has a strong support system with her friend Paige and her boyfriend Ryan. Paige is a wild child, full of energy and flirtatiousness. She captures every man’s attentions, leaving Alex feeling like a second fiddle once or twice, but is immensely likable and always pushing Alex to the top and talking her up at every turn. She’s a good friend through everything, supportive and protective and someone you can easily see yourself hanging out with. There’s an air of mystery surrounding her though when it comes to the men in this story. There’s definite chemistry between her and music exec Matthew as well as incendiary looks between her and Parker. I look forward to seeing more of her in the future and am definitely curious about her love life and I hope that it will take center stage at some point. Then there’s Ryan, Alex’s boyfriend of three years, a loyal and down to earth man who’s supportive of her...except for one scene that left a bad taste in my mouth. There’s also moments of jealousy that radiate off him and that have me doubting that Alex’s HEA is meant to be with him. That doesn’t mean that he wasn’t sweet and sexy, it just left me wondering about their future as a couple. All this makes for an interesting trio of friends who are all newbies in this rock star world and I’m curious to see how they handle the decisions that will need to be made as the story moves forth.
Alongside this strong trio of characters are the rest of Last Moment, bandmates to Alex who accepted her wholeheartedly from the start. They looked to her to set the pace and it led them to the cusp of fame. They’re a likable group with sexy looks and compelling backgrounds just hinted at. While they respect Alex’s relationship with Ryan they still flirted with her occasionally...as did Noah, lead singer to the band they’ll be touring with. Noah oozes sex appeal and their first meeting was electric. It’s clear that there’s something between them, a spark that has me on edge as readers are left waiting with bated breath after one heckuva cliffhanger. All in all it’s a satisfying start to what promises to be a sexy journey to fame, fortune, and HEA!
I received a gifted copy of this book from the author in exchange for a review: I thought this was a really good book. Alex is a really good leading lady, and im not one to ever really like the women in books, but i can honestly say i like Alex a lot. Her BFF Paige is nice and cool and i really really want to know whats going on with her and Parker. The one thing that bothers me, is in the beginning the author alludes to her having a one night stand with the talent scout, but you never actually find out if they did or if they will again. he kind of disappeared. I'd like to know a little more about him if possible, but i'd also love to have a book with Paige being with Parker. Paige is the best BFF A girl could have. Always there to support Alex during this Rock and Roll roller coaster she us about to take a ride on. Ryan, Alex's boyfriend is def hot. I'm totally into him. He's sweet, sexy and a perfect boyfriend. But im scared because HOLY MOLY is there a Cliffy !!! I really cant wait to see whats going to happen and if there is any real attraction between Alex with band members as well as Noah. Noah, a minor character in book one is HOT...hes a rocker and dont we all love the rocker?!?! You can just tell he is going to be trouble and it makes my heart pound to not know what exactly he has planned. His Character is minor in book one but from what i gather at the end, hes going to be much more major in book two, and i cant wait. The band is awesome and I really hope we get to hear their stories as well because im positive they all have a story to tell us and im absolutely ready to listen (read)... Im definitely interested in Riley and his apparent interest in Alex. I cant wait for book two This book was well written, with a few spelling errors but on the whole not that many so it wasnt distracting. The story is good and the way the author tells it is very good. I absolutely enjoyed this book. I think the author did a great job on this book and i would absolutely recommend it
I received this for an honest review. I have to say that i thought this was a good book and i found myself struggling through the first couple of chapters but once I made it through I found that this was an extremely enjoyable book. I thought it a wonderful take on the rocker book. I loved that she was found at a Karaoke bar and thrust into a rock and roll band. It was a very good debut for this author. Defiantly can not wait to see what comes next.
Alexandra Wilson is out with her best friend Paige Arnold one night when after singing karaoke she is approached by Matthew Crench to sing on the show Stella NOVA with a group that needs a lead singer. Alex is over joyed with the chance of fulfilling her dream but knows she has to keep her full time job as an IT shift manager as well. Will Alex and her group Lost Moments have a chance at winning the competition and how will this change her life? I enjoyed this book and the idea behind it but at the same time I really struggled to be grabbed by the book. I found at times there was so much extra detail in the book and I really felt like it was dragging but I did like the characters in the book. Alex was a girl who deserved what she was getting with the opportunity to sing in the competition and I loved that she was chosen from a karaoke bar when she wasn’t expecting it. I loved her friendship with Paige and how accepted Paige was by everyone involved with the show. Amber was wonderful and went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect for Alex. I loved Alex’s boyfriend Ryan Stewart, an attorney, who was very happy for Alex and the two had a great and trusting relationship. The guys in the band were great and hopefully each of them get their own book as well as Paige. I have mixed feelings about Noah Dreagan, the lead singer for Carnal Imagination as you can tell he had chemistry with Paige and he doesn’t seem the type to really care that she has a boyfriend and will do what he can to get her for himself. The end leaves us with a bit of a cliff-hanger which I think alludes to great news for Alex and Lost Moment but we’ll have to wait and see. I think one of the things that did probably annoy me a little was that everything went so smoothly and there wasn’t any real conflicts or bumps in the road for Alex. We get the idea that there could possibly be an upcoming love triangle but other than that there was nothing. By Rebecca

Clara Fox's story, Destiny, was a really great read so I'm excited about the future of this new series. Alex Walton is a singer as a hobby, though she loves it so much. One night, she & her best friend sing karaoke when the her dream that she never pursued happened. She was noticed by a talent agent, who offers her a chance at starting a new career by winning a competition as the lead singer of a newly formed band to go on tour with a world famous band. Thus starts a new journey for the strong, feisty Alex, as she goes for it. Now, Alex has a boyfriend named Ryan, and I'm not so sure about him, but I'm really hoping he's just a stepping stone, since while he showed out sweet moments, there's something under the surface of him, which could possibly hinder Alex in the future. I'm not saying I know that it will happen, just saying that I can see it. Finally, there's Paige, Alex's bestie, and she was super fun herself (though she's got some interesting things happening as well). I'm so glad that Ms. Fox is taking us on a journey that apparently will be step by step as we going along for the ride with Alex, since it's very original in my eyes. So, get in the ground floor of a new series that I believe is only going to get better & better (especially since the cliffy which has me dying inside a bit), by hitting that one click button! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Along comes a rocker story unlike any other I've read before!
Destiny is far from being an ordinary rockstar romance. What starts out as a fun night of karaoke with her best friend, quickly turns into a chance of a lifetime. Alex never dreamed she'd be discovered by a talent agency and offered a chance to sing.
Clara Fox is a new to me author and I'm happy to say that she did a remarkable job capturing my attention from the very first chapter. It's been a long time since I've read a story like this one and I easily fell into the words, making it very hard to put down. Alex thought she had it all, from a best friend, a great job, and a wonderful boyfriend, to an opportunity to sing with a new band. How could she say no? Of course there's a snag and that happens to be Noah. Things really start to get interesting and I am dying to know what's going to happen with the Last Moment band.
I really enjoyed the flow and pace of the story. Destiny is an easy story to read and you're not going to want to put it down once you start. You're hooked and Fox just keeps you begging for more. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed Destiny and I think it's worthy of five rock stars!!
Clara Fox takes you on this fabulous journey in the music industry in her Last Moment series with book one Destiny. You follow the start of the Last Moment band with Alex as the sexy lead singer and the rest of the guys battle it out to be an opening act for a rock group heading out on world tour. I love the passion behind the music. The band just jells so well being thrown together and I just love how they all come together. Alex has this fantastic mind for the music business and I can't wait to see where she goes from just book one. She has a fabulous support system and knows how to bring the Rock God Noah to his knees. You sense this little spark between them and I for one can't wait to see what happens.
This was overall a fun story about a girl who gets the chance to be the lead singer for a local band and open for a huge concert. There were no sex scenes, although it was implied. I struggled with the cover of the book (a male holding a guitar, left handed), since it was mostly about Alex (a female) becoming a lead singer. It also seemed very detail rich and longer than it needed to be. However, it left us as an interesting little cliffhanger, so I'll be reading the next book to find out more!
Alex has a dream come true when she is asked to join a band and try out for a competition and a chance to be an opening act for a major band that is going to be in the area. The new band has to work hard to try and be the best that they can be and win this competition. Alex has a boyfriend she loves and doesn’t know what she would do without. But what happens when they lead singer of the headlining act show interest in her and he seems to have some kind of pull with her. I loved all the characters in this book and how different they all seem to be. This was such a great book I can not wait to read the next one. I received a free copy of this book for an honest review!
I thought that this was a good read, The author took a cute idea and turned it into a fun story that was easy to get into. The cast of characters was intriguing, very likable and quick to connect with. While I did like it, I also felt that maybe the plot wasn't quite sure where it was going or what it really wanted to be. Hopeful, that will fade with book two. This book does end on a cliffhanger and I really feel that there is so much more that needs to be explored when the story picks up again. This is my volitional, candid review.
Topping the Charts story! Ashley @ Carolina Chic’s Read
My first book by Clara Fox and she did an awesome job of this with this rockstar journey!!! I love rockstar books and this one had all the feels and all the things a romance should. This book takes you on the journey of the music industry and what happens when new talent is found in a new Band Last Moment. Alex the lead singer takes you through so many emotions with all that you expect! I cannot wait to see where this girl goes and how she changes how things are done!
I received this Arc from bookfunnel in exchange for a fair and honest review. This book is part of a duet, this is part one. It establishes the forming of the band, and their lead singer Alex. It's mainly her story, her rise to freedom and her relationship with Ryan, her boyfriend and Paige her best friend. It's quite detailed from the music pov. Not quite what I was expecting but still a great read!
Destiny is an amazing story! It’s a little different take on your normal rockstar romance. I loved the way the band was formed. Alex, Avis, Shane and Parker make up the band Last Chance. They fit perfectly together. Alex is the lead singer. They’re brought together to compete for a chance to open for a famous rock band Carnel Imagination. The journey of the band is a very enjoyable story! I can’t wait for the next book so I can find out what happens next!
This is the first book in a new series and it's a great read. It's wonderfully written, the characters are likeable and intriguing, and it's a fun and unique rock star romance. This is an entertainingly enjoyable story from start to finish and I highly recommend it. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
This is the 1st in a new series and what an amazing, unique and refreshing introduction this is. This is a beautifully written tale which is fun, entertaining, and with drama and wonderful characters. I cannot wait to read more in this series, and I highly recommend for all readers.
This story is so well written! I love everything about this book! It was a unique take on a Rock Star Romance, and I am absolutely in love! I was not able to put this one down at all! I cannot wait for more from this author!
Never enjoyed a book more! Reading about the music scene was great, the humor, and romance thrown in didn't hurt, lol. Would highly recommend this series.
A start to,a series about chasing a dream and taking a chance It’s a look at the work of making it in the music biz and still keeping your day to day life
Complimentary copy provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.
Alex is out on the town, having a fun night of karaoke when she is approached by a talent scout looking to put together a band to compete in a local music showcase. The winner of the competition will open for a major band when they come to town. Alex has never really harbored dreams of making it as a singer, she’s happy with her life the way it is, she’s got a great job, a best friend, and a loyal boyfriend of three years, Ryan.
When Alex meets the other members of the pre-fabricated band, it quickly becomes apparent that what they have together is an energy that they can’t deny. While they start as a cover band, they find that they have a rhythm of their own in which they easily make their own music, cementing the fact that indeed, they really have become a cohesive group. The band Last Moment is officially born.
Last Moment takes the competition by storm and gains the attention of those in the record business. Taking note of Alex in particular is Noah, the lead singer of the band, Carnal Imagination, the band Last Moment is going to open for. Things move much faster than Alex had planned, from a possible recording contract to Noah’s advances that Alex isn’t quite prepared for, especially given her dedication to her boyfriend Ryan. Alex finds that she has to start making decisions, however her decisions no longer affect just her, but now she has her band mates to worry about too. Destiny is a different kind of rock star book. Yes, the main character is a woman, which makes the book different from so many other books in the genre, but it also seems a little more genuine in the way that Alex reacts to her newfound fame.
It’s hard to believe this is Ms. Fox’s debut novel. The story is well written and the characters are multifaceted. Fox has done an excellent job of crafting characters that are easy to empathize with, easy to root for, which is going to be put to the test in the next volume where Alex may very well be faced with a choice of Ryan over Noah, and how dedicated she is to the band. Destiny was a quick, easy read that hooked me from the first page. I am definitely looking forward to the next book in the series, Shooting Stars, releasing in early 2015.
I bloody loved this book. The main part of me loving this was the fact it was different! Pretty much all books around at the moment are hugely centred on love and sex... This book solely centred on Alex.
Alex and her best mate Paige are out one night at a karaoke when Alex is approached by a talent scout. Alex has an amazing talent and is just what they are looking for to front a band they are putting together for an upcoming competition. This is a competition like no other, the winning bands gets to be an opening act for none other than famous Rockband! SJ's Review. Being thrown together at such short notice Alex gets straight in, gets her head down and gets it done. The band just clicks. They have 4 amazing musicians and Alex. What could possibly go wrong? When the guest judge is announced everything goes into panic mode but being the talented, skilful people they are they pull it together and they do it BIG!!
This book for me was unique. I have never read a book were it is centred mainly on one person! Alex is a determined, strong minded individual! Alex isn't put off by how famous Noel is she gets her head down and gets on with it. The guys are very supporting of every decision Alex makes. The band fits together brilliantly and they all bounce off of one another, they all compliment each-other and couldn't have gotten a better group of not only artists but friends!
I will certainly be following this series and any other book Clara Fox has written. I enjoyed her writing style!! destiny gets 5 stars from me and they are very well deserved! Well worth the time and money!!
From the moment I started reading Destiny I was entranced in the spell Clara Fox had cast with her incredible storyline.
Destiny is about the rise to fame of a local band named "Last Moment" the band is lead by Alexandra "Alex" Walton. Alex is an IT manager by day and rockstar by night. This book is full of drama, drama, drama, from the moment you start reading it all the way to the cliff hanger at the end and it's incredible! I love the fact that Alex is so unaware of all the male attention she is getting she only has eyes for her boyfriend Ryan, even though she has a HOT rockstar, a hot guy in her band and several other fawning over her. There are so many challenges that are thrown at this band and Alex in general it's crazy but they take them and roll with the punches as they go. I really can't wait to see what happens with Paige because something is definitely up with her and Parker!
There are so many subtle storylines going on at one time if you're not careful you will miss them. The chemistry between the characters (band and Alex/Ryan) are incredible it's practically electric you can almost feel it as you're reading it. The scene with Noah and Alex on stage....holy hell....that's all I'm going to say. WOW.
Clara Fox has this amazing ability to be able to connect the characters with the reader you can definitely feel the emotions as your going through the book when you're reading. This is fantastic as a reader because you feel like you're on the journey with the band. I can't wait for the next installment in this series!
Alex and Paige are two best friends and roommates, one night on a night out at a kareoke night they meet Matthew who's a producer and offers Alex the chance of a lifetime. Be the front woman of a band and enter a competition to win the chance to be the opening act to a massive band. What happens when the singer of the other band takes a liking to her and she's in a relationship already with her boyfriend of 3 years Ryan? Will she give into the temptation or stay faithful?
Alex is such a strong female role model. She leads the entire book as she leads her band and it was amazing to see a young woman be so strong. Her best friend is always there for her and positive and supportive and her boyfriend Ryan is supportive of her choice but still jealous of the other band members which really adds to the story. Great romance story and you can feel the love they have for each other but I cant help but feel that Ryan is hiding some things.
The book was beautifully written which was really good considering it's Clara's debut novel. The story flows naturally the only downfall is that there's no drama/argument between the band members, everything is smooth and perfect which is a bit weird for a rock band but I want to know so much more about all the characters and know what will happen with Riley and Noah. And I'd love to see Alex have some sort of attraction to the other guys. From the blurb I thought there would be some attraction or fling but none of it.
I want to start and tell you this is a cliffhanger and the next book isn't out till 2015. For me that is extremely frustrating. I hate waiting and I have feeling this is a book that I could forget. Although there is a great story behind this it felt a little boring at times. I loved the band last moment. All of the people in the band were great. They all have a back story and I feel that each person could have their own book. Alex is the lead singer and she has a great book presence and I like that about her. Ryan, her boyfriend seems to be such a good guy it is frightening. He seems a little to perfect. Each band member has their own unique personality which makes them such a big part of this book. With all honesty I didn't get it, I'm hoping this a background book to get the readers invested in the series, but it may have not hit its mark. It was very long winded and honestly I didn't see what the author was looking for. I think she wants to start a love triangle, but I don't know how it will fit. Three stars were given because well the last chapter intrigued me, and well that would be why I would read the next book.
I'm not going to tell you about the story, but will say the book left me frustrated and annoyed only because I just couldn't feel the book. I love the characters and I will continue with the series, but upset on the wait. Sent from my NOOK
"What happens when 'Destiny' comes along and changes everything?"
This story is amazing. I loved Alex and Paige's friendship, always there for one another, no matter the ups and downs. True friendship.
The guys were awesomely funny, and made me wish I could find my own group of guys like that to be my friends on my way to fortune and fame. It shows that they are not only Alex's friends but Paige's as well, even with all the sarcastic remarks between all of them.
When Alex gets offered the dream of a lifetime, she grabs on with one hand, grabs her best friend with the other, and takes the ride of her life, to be the only female singer in a rock band.
Although she has a boyfriend she is totally in love with, the band's lead singer, who's song they covered amazingly in the contest, flirts shamelessly trying to get Alex to stumble, but of course she doesn't . She throws his flirting back in his face, and one up's him on stage in front of a crowd of thousands, having the time of her life moving forward with her dream, her love, her best friend and bamdmates.
So what does happen when Destiny comes along and changes EVERYTHING? Read this amazing story and see all the details for yourself!
Destiny was a fun story about a girl who thought she was living a life planned for her. She had a great job, wonderful boyfriend, and the sassiest best friend a girl could ask for, Paige. What more could you ask for? Life was great until Destiny came knocking and added a new fun twist to Alex's story. Alex was asked to take the lead of a local rock band after her hit performance during Karaoke night. Fighting her insecurities she agrees to be the front vocalist of a local band to audition in an upcoming showcase. The winner gets to open for Noah Dreagan and his rock band. Noah of course is the hot rock god all girls dream about when they go to sleep. Alex was no different from any of girl even though she did have the admiration of Ryan, her lawyer boyfriend. It was awesome reading about Alex discovering herself and finding her confidence. Alex was driven and focused, really empowering for a female character. She knew what she wanted and how she wanted it. All leading to a smashing performance and success of Last Moment, her band. Be prepared for an eye popping performance leading to the reader begging for more of the story. I can not wait for book 2. I give this story 4 stars. Yours Truly--Sassy Southern Book Affair
What will you do with your Destiny?? Debut Author Clara Fox knocks it out of the park with this kick ass rock star romance! Alex and her best friend Paige often go out to blow off steam and have a good time. In D.C. there’s no shortage of places for a girl to get her karaoke on—their fun of choice. Alex never looks for more than to enjoy herself…the thing is she’s good at it…really good at it! When she’s approached by a guy named Matt and asked to try singing in a band, Alex leaps on the opportunity. With the support of her smoking hot boyfriend Ryan and her awesome (and incredibly trendy) bestie Paige, Alex accepts the offer and meets the band. Alex has trepidations at first. While she has a degree in and passion for music, her IT job leaves her without the experience she desires. Alex loves music and loves to rock—so she definitely doesn’t want to screw this up. I’m not a spoiler kind of gal, but I can say this book rocks (pun intended) and if you enjoy hot guys, great music and some killer romance than this is the book for you. Besides, there’s only one way to find out Alex’s Destiny. So go and get your read on ;)
