Joining forces with two leading scientists, New York Times bestselling author Deepak Chopra offers a quantum leap for improving our physical and mental health.
In an unprecedented collaboration between three of today’s most powerful minds, Deepak Chopra, M.D., teams up with physicist Jack Tuszynski, Ph.D., and endocrinologist Brian Fertig, M.D., to bring readers a visionary work that delves into the innovative world of quantum science and shows how unlocking its secrets can revolutionize how we live and age—and, ultimately, how we can eradicate disease. The key is the quantum body.
Unlike our physical body, which is subject to aging, injury, and decay, the quantum body exists on a sub-atomic level and is the infinite, invisible source of everyday reality that affects your thoughts, feelings, sensations, and biological responses. Without your quantum body, there is no physical body. And this lack of awareness of the most crucial part of ourselves negatively impacts our lives every day.
Through a powerful combination of prescriptive exercises and innovative research into the quantum world, the authors unveil seven breakthroughs that will revolutionize the future of everyone’s well-being. Central to this revolution is a groundbreaking understanding of metabolism—the way our cells process energy—that promises to challenge our understanding of modern medicine as we know it.
Though all too familiar in the physical world, Alzheimer’s, type 2 diabetes, cancer, and heart disease do not exist at the fundamental level of quantum reality. By harnessing the power of the quantum body, we can significantly improve our physical and mental well-being, including supporting healthy cell, tissue, and organ function, boosting immunity, promoting mental resilience, and expanding our understanding of what it means to live a happy and purposeful life.
In this groundbreaking book, Chopra, Tuszynski, and Fertig show you the way by unveiling the “real” reality of your body and mind as never before and providing a vision for a tomorrow that is already here.

A beautiful amalgamation of yoga and science, drawing links between concepts from quantum physics to explain some ancient philosophical ideas on human experience and consciousness. I was left feeling kind of mind blown and I need to re-read parts as some of it went a bit over my head. If you like getting a little lost on deep thoughts about consciousness and the cosmos I would recommend this.
Intro level mindfulness and yoga overlaid with vague reference to quantum physics. The uncertainty principle as a means of garnering metaphysical certainty. Eat food, not too much, mostly plants. Meditate. Most of it reads like a Barnes and Noble New Age chakra book, but however you get to it, the advice is sound.
It could've been a pamphlet. There's around 60 words per page, but they blew up the font and margins to make it sellable as hardcover, then stuck Chopra's name on it as a marketing gimmick. He only wrote the foreward and afterward. Still, he brought a cadre of other pseudomystic physicians to write the rest of the book, so it's the same thing.
The introduction and epilogue of this book are written by Deepak Chopra and the main parts of the book are written by the other two authors. Depending on the reader, this may affect whether they want to read this book or not. This book takes the field of quantum physics and uses it to help explain how people are more than their physical bodies and that wellness includes spiritual, psychological, mental and physical health. I agree with much in this book, but as a Christian, could not support a number of the underlying assumptions in it. Chopra, as well as the other two authors use a Hindu religious philosophy in this book. God is an unknowable spirit that is not separate from the matter that was created. It assumes reincarnation and that darkness/evil is essential. Because these underlying beliefs are not correct, in my opinion, this book was not one that I recommend.
Deepak Chopra’s ‘Quantum Body’ is without a doubt the dumbest book I have ever read. Indeed, I am stupider for having read it, and I regret ever picking it up in the first place and am concerned about the long-term effects this book may have on my cognition and critical thinking abilities.
On its surface, ‘Quantum Body’ is a book about yogic principles like mindfulness, groundedness, mind-body connection etc etc. That’s all well and good, if the book had stayed in its lane it wouldn’t be so pernicious and infuriating, but Chopra sadistically piles on hearty scoops of new-agey nonsense blended with absolutely heinous pseudoscience.
In attempting to bridge the gap between eastern philosophy and quantum physics, Chopra makes a mess of both. Please do not read this book, and warn your loved ones to steer clear of it as well.

Deepak Chopra's "Quantum Body" offers readers an intriguing exploration of the intersection between quantum physics and the human body, promising insights into the profound connection between mind, body, and spirit. As with much of Chopra's work, this book delves into the realms of consciousness and holistic health, aiming to empower readers to harness the power of quantum principles for personal transformation and well-being.
One cannot deny Chopra's ability to articulate complex concepts in a compelling and accessible manner. Through "Quantum Body," he endeavours to bridge the gap between cutting-edge scientific discoveries and ancient wisdom traditions, offering readers a roadmap to unlocking their full potential. From the notion of quantum healing to the role of consciousness in shaping physical reality, Chopra's narrative is both thought-provoking and inspiring.
However, for many readers, myself included, grappling with the intricacies of quantum physics can prove to be a daunting task. While Chopra's intentions are undoubtedly noble, some may find themselves struggling to fully grasp the concepts presented in "Quantum Body," let alone integrate them into their daily lives. The leap from theory to practice can feel overwhelming, especially for those without a background in science or spirituality.
Moreover, there is a risk of oversimplification in Chopra's portrayal of quantum principles, potentially leading to misconceptions or misinterpretations among readers. While his analogies and metaphors serve to make complex ideas more digestible, they may also obscure the nuances and limitations of quantum theory, inadvertently misleading readers in the process.
Despite these challenges, "Quantum Body" still holds value as a catalyst for introspection and exploration. Even if the practical applications remain elusive, the book serves as a springboard for deeper inquiry into the nature of reality and the interconnectedness of all things. For those willing to embark on the journey with an open mind and a spirit of curiosity, Chopra's insights may serve as a guiding light on the path to self-discovery and holistic wellness.
This was my first Deepak Chopra book - it's a quick read and focuses on what he calls the "quantum body" the part of us that we can't control but impacts us. I thought there would be more about how to ives a longer, healthier, more vital life but there really wasn't. I guess my confusion was due to the title. While it was interesting and fast read - other than relieving stress, eating healthier, etc I didn't feel I got a lot out of this one.
No matter. What is matter, never mind.”
Analizziamo la frase in dettaglio: What is mind? (Cosa è la mente?) No matter. What is matter? (Cosa è la materia?) Never mind.
Conclusione: “What is mind? No matter.
Pertanto, pensi e parli sempre a quel livello.
I’m a big fan of Deepak Chopra’s books and meditations and have always wanted to learn more about quantum healing. As an energy healer and earth medicine practitioner I found The Quantum Body a great place to dive deep into this revolutionary perspective. What an absolutely fascinating read! I’m highlighting left and right and learning so much while simultaneously feeling — Yes! I’ll be coming back to absorb more and reference these teachings time and again. And although this is written by the experts, it’s easy to read and follow for us non MD/PhD people. I’m ready to master a new skill set, expand my vision, and let new truths emerge. Thank you for this brilliant book.
The science is probably just over my head. There wasn’t much practical advice that I was looking for. Recommended: sleep well, eat organic whole foods, meditate. The body is not a machine, it’s so much more related to quantum physics. And let potatoes, rice and pasta cool for 24 hours to increase their resistant starch which provides pre-biotics for the large intestine bacteria and reduces the glycemic index.
I try to keep an open mind in the realm of spirituality, and give the existence of God or unknowable other the benefit of the doubt. That’s why the discussion of a universal consciousness doesn’t put me off… what does put me off though, is pages and pages of rambling ambiguity – and that makes up a good chunk of “Quantum Body.” After struggling through the book, I still don’t really understand what a quantum body is, and it still seems to remain unknowable, even though the authors claim there is a growing body of (unidentified) science that backs up its existence and importance in the realm of empirical evidence. It still seems largely in the territory of ‘woo-woo’ – and that would be OK if the authors hadn’t set the book up as, quote from the title: “The New Science of Living a Longer, Healthier, More Vital Life.” Any actual science relating to the ‘quantum body’ isn’t even addressed until page 197 (part 4) of the book, and to get there you have to make it through chapters and chapters of yoga talk, deceptive headings, rambling and lists.
Now, don’t get me wrong, Quantum Body does contain some tasty food for thought. There are important reflections in here on one’s life direction and makeup. There are big questions, and small questions, and there is some great advice. There are things to ponder in a quiet room, perhaps a quiet room in a nice house, overlooking a peaceful and beautiful view which no doubt the relatively-wealthy authors have at-will access to. Yes, there are things to meditate on, if you can find the time between a child screaming and a work commute, when the neighbours aren’t having a party and the streets aren’t being loudly cleaned. There are useful tidbits in here that anyone could, and probably should use to better their lives and existences – but much seems lost in some elite realm that is never really revealed, or remains open to people with far more money and time than the average person could ever hope to possess… Many books could be accused of offering advice for the more privileged in society, but I think the broken promises and ambiguity in this book struck a chord with my sleep-deprived body, my distracted mind, and my blinded quantum consciousness.
Notes, items of interest from the book (spoilers if you will)
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this eARC.
"Quantum Body: The New Science of Living a Longer, Healthier, More Vital Life" is a thought-provoking exploration into the intersection of quantum physics and human biology. Authored by Deepak Chopra, M.D., physicist Jack Tuszynski, Ph.D., and endocrinologist Brian Fertig, M.D., this book promises to revolutionize our understanding of health and well-being.
At the heart of the book is the concept of the "quantum body," an idea that transcends the physical limitations of our existence. The authors argue that our physical bodies, subject to aging and decay, are merely a manifestation of our quantum selves, which exist at a sub-atomic level. This invisible, infinite source of reality influences our thoughts, feelings, sensations, and biological responses in profound ways.
The book is ambitious, aiming to redefine our understanding of metabolism and how our cells process energy. It boldly claims that common diseases like Alzheimer's, type 2 diabetes, cancer, and heart disease, while prevalent in the physical world, do not exist at the quantum level. By tapping into the power of the quantum body, the authors suggest that we can significantly improve our physical and mental health, boost immunity, and even expand our consciousness.
"Quantum Body" is not without its complexities. The authors delve deep into the philosophical and scientific implications of their theories, which may be challenging for readers new to these concepts. However, for those willing to engage with its ideas, the book offers a unique perspective on health and vitality.
The narrative is interspersed with prescriptive exercises and cutting-edge research, providing a practical guide for readers to apply the principles of quantum science to their daily lives. The authors' vision is clear: to usher in a new era of well-being where the quantum body plays a central role in living a longer, healthier, and more vital life.
"Quantum Body" is a visionary work that will appeal to readers interested in the convergence of science and spirituality. It's a call to look beyond the tangible and embrace a broader understanding of existence. Whether one is a long-time follower of Chopra's teachings or a newcomer to the field, this book offers insights that could potentially alter the way we perceive health and disease, and ultimately, the way we live our lives.
I was intrigued by the title, and read this book hoping to discover the authors’ take on a connection between quantum physics and the functioning of the human body. What I got was more of a self help book based on Vedic philosophy.
Sentences like “In a static universe, entropy might be so slow that change occurs too gradually to create the passage of time, “ made me cringe. Entropy is a property of a system, like temperature or density, and can’t be “slow.” Perhaps the authors meant “rate of change of entropy.” At best, this treatment of entropy is sloppy, and one wonders how many of the other scientific explanations are sloppy as well.
The lack of a bibliography or endnotes is suspect.
The chapter “What if Aging is a Mistake?” seems nonsensical in its entirety. “Entropy refers to the dissipation of heat by which warm things grow colder. But those are inanimate things. Putting on a coat in winter effectively defeats entropy, and so have all living forms for at least 4 billion years.” BS. If you stop eating, you’re going to get colder, too. What does this sentence even mean? The authors seem to imply that we’ll be able to meditate our way out of death. Again, no reference for the yogi that can survive buried in a box for five days.
I gave this book two stars instead of one star because I like the practical suggestions on how to foster psychological health, such as taking time out to “return to your zero point” or practice “centered meditation.” The authors also provide interesting quotes by Planck and Heisenberg about God and consciousness.
Wow! Talk about having a book fall into your lap at the exact moment you need it. This book was everything I needed as I was dealing with the expected .... but also, unexpected ..... death of my mother. Expected - because she was in her mid 90's (94 to be exact) and time wasn't in her favour. But also unexpected - as she had been in pretty good health, both physically and mentally ......until she decided that she had had enough. (Her younger sister had gotten ill and was hospitalized and Mom decided that as the oldest born, she should go first).
This book was just a balm to my soul and alongside the meditation practice that I have been doing, got me through the inevitable death and all the pain and questions that come along with it. I love the mystical side of life but I just could never get my head around the idea of the soul - the essence of you and what makes you who you are - in a religious sense. This book eased my heart and it made everything less traumatic and more wonderous. My mom is with me always in the here and now and in my future. Although I grieve her presence and words and hugs and all the physical aspects of what made her so special, I know she is there in the Quantum.
I highly recommend this book! It's one to keep on your shelf!
Fascinating ! My take-always Quantum/casual body ➡️ chit Akash ➡️ physical body
Our senses are Qualia detectors (quality aspect of quantum). Thoughts are also bound to qualia.
The gifts of chit Akash ( mind space) are wishon, organizing power, dynamic energy, intention, infinite flexibility, clear path to reach goal, fulfillment of desire, healing power and ability to correct mistakes.
Pure consciousness is the womb of creation. It is the silent gap between thoughts. You become knowledge. A thought is a transient rising and fading away like a wave of the ocean. Yet the ocean is always present and so is the silent background of awareness that you glimpse, for a fraction of a second, between thoughts. Consciousness morphs into physical body.
Quotes The eye with which I see God is the same with which God sees me - Meister Eckhart The first gulp from the glass of natural sciences will turn you into an atheist, but at the bottom of the glass God is waiting for you - Heisenberg
Deepak Chopra and the other authors defines the difference between our physical body and our quantum body, which is blurry and merges into the quantum field and it is infinite in all directions.
The chapters on breathing techniques and quantum metabolism, especially, provides key information on quantum healing, aging and disease, which can improves your overall wellbeing. Additionally, the authors discuss seven quantum breakthroughs that can expand your awareness, thet are: 1. Reality Is Experience. 2. The World Is Magic. You Are the Magician. 3. The Experience is Eternal. 4. Infinity Is the New Normal. 5. The Brain is Not The Mind. 6. “I” Is a Bad Habit. 7. Existence Is Your Crowning Glory.
The authors discuss each of the above quantum breakthroughs in detail, and provide a wealth of knowledge in this book on Quantum Healing that any natural practitioner would enjoy and benefit from. Highly recommend.
I think this book was OKAY. The beginning had some super beneficial (and basic) breathing exercises if you’ve never heard of them, the middle got super into the Vedic tradition and kind of abandoned the aim of merging with science. Authors admitted that science hadn’t caught up to the Vedic insights they were upholding. This alone made the book a bit underwhelming since I went into it very excited about synthesis. The end of the book mostly gave basic nutrition advice and summarized the stuff they’d already talked about.
From a technical writing standpoint, there were sentences that were simply incomplete. This sometimes disrupted flow and hindered my understanding of the text. It was annoying and felt like a college kid who had succeeded in ENGL 101 and 102 could have written better sentences.
I think there are blog posts that cover breathing exercises well, and other books that cover spirituality better. Read if you want, but you’re not missing too much if you don’t.
Tuszynski and Fertig do all the heavy lifting in this volume; Chopra merely writes the forward and afterword, even though he gets top billing. The two physicians and scientists that write the book do not have the name recognition. Yet.
I found this a fascinating merger between discussions of quantum theory in application to biology. The authors also cite multiple examples from Hindu sages and the Yogic traditions for aid in discussing the intricacies of quantum theory. Some may criticize this book for its willingness to apply ancient traditions to modern sciences. For me, I found it a fascinating confirmation that sacred traditions already had the insights to which current medical and biological research is catching up. [cf. The Science Delusion by Curtis White].
I read this book as one might read a road map. It has been helpful to know the layout of quantum science in relation to spirituality and biology, but the map is not the reality--the journey is still in progress.
The moment I read this book I felt the deep underlying intelligence of Deepak Chopra. That simulates true literature about artificial intelligence and the human body. That is looking for ways to evolve as a human being that incorparates AI and the subtle bodies that are there in existence in these so called psychic realms of existence.
Allthough this book is necesarry to read in order to evolve. It gives a heavy or tough impression on what your body and all these intelligent parts can be.
It triggers me to become smarter and more intelligent. For the sake of true evolution. I will continue reading this book and I hope that the outcome will be worthwhile.
This book felt like the transcript to a lecture written by someone who is incredible naive, bordering on narcissist. Anything that Chopra has not personally researched, he refers to as things like “one of the world’s greatest mysteries,” discrediting decades of research. There are many bold statements made as “fact,” which can be easily disproven with a google search. There in not a single footnote, endnote, or reference. For every piece of wisdom, you have to filter through 3 pieces of bullsh*t.
This feels like one of those self-help books written by a conman. I can’t in good conscious recommend this book to anyone.
I’ve wanted to read something by Chopra for a long time. I’m so disappointed. This book borders on fiction.
A fascinating and compelling read, though the subtitle is misleading and likely a reflection of marketing strategy. Ultimately this book is about universal consciousness/creative intelligence and how quantum theories offer new (and not so new, thank you Vedic philosophy) insights and questions into the nature of nature and all existence. The fact that the essay on spirituality by Chopra is saved for the end, rather than being more centrally integrated throughout, suggests that the science/sacred binary persists even in a text whose central arguments unravel it. Definitely a set of ideas to ponder and allow to unfold on your journey.
This book was a self help book just repackaged. I think a huge part of this book is the encouragement to stay present within your body and the moment. The way they frame the topic of disconnecting from the physical “I” and realizing we are just conscious souls rather than just physical bodies made me question my own beliefs about my immortality and why I am so afraid of it. It tied into what I’m learning about right now in my yoga teacher training too which I thought was cool. I’d rate this book 7/10 probably wouldn’t read again, but would recommend to a friend who is interested in the deeper understanding of quantum reality. Proud of myself for getting through it in 2 days.
Written in layman's terms, Quantum Body has radically helped me understand more about my brain and my frame of consciousness. I had many aha's throughout this text and took my time reading it, to develop what I was beginning to understand. I greatly recommend this book for those that have deconstructed their religion or are hurdling through mental illnesses and working toward healing their mind and body.
