Superb collection of mysteries and short stories, excellently written. A couple are painfully clever, with painstaking proofs, but the characters are always beautifully drawn and the narrative witty.
As has been my experience with other massive compendiums of classics, the indexing of the ebook version is thorough but without hierarchy, so that it’s easy with a touch to suddenly be a thousand pages off where you were reading and a challenge to find your place. I left a breadcrumb trail of bookmarks to mark my progress.
