Brigeet works finding talents via news articles and medical reports. She normally sends recruiters out to contact those talents, but she gets tapped to set up a new Guardian base and so all the recruiting is up to her.
She has to convince their family matriarchs that it is a good idea to let them join.
Solos had Brigeet in his bed, but he was forced to leave her behind, now they are working together, and she is on his home world. On his turf, he can have her on his terms, if his family will agree.
Other families want Brigeet to take their sons as well, so it will be a competition to see whom she will take on as bond mate first.
Blarg. Another one that didn't really do it for me. I'm a fan of monogamy, folks. So this was just too much. It also felt like it was all over the place. Not sure what the point of this was, really.
The whole thing started out great but started losing interest in the middle. The story is good and refreshing but I just find it hard to believe.
This is probably the first time I had read where women are the matriarch who are literally in charge and men are bargained into bonding. A world that is in opposite of earth in the past where men are in charge and women are the one bargained into bonding.
One of my favorite aspects of Viola Graces writing is how she takes what many people would like a mundane job and attaches a superpower to it which shows how much talent and skill the work really requires.
Our heroine is a recruiter and headhunter. She is also a bit of a smartass and I love her.
We get a good adventure, a lovely reunion romance, very sexy hero with surprises, and wonderful world building in a matriarchal culture.
Very good stuff!
Oh and Ms. Grace, Keep those epilogues coming. I adore them!
