Britt & Matty
Oh these two was absolutely perfect for the other. They had so much in common and they way the both was pining for the other while being best friend. Britt is absolutely adorable and her willingness to go after her dreams in such a male dominated area is amazing. Her ability to just understand Matty and never judge him for being who he is and accepting him whole heartedly. Matty my man. His ability to do what's right even when its not in his best interest is admirable. His ability to go after Britt finally and just fight to show that no matter what she is it for him & he is all in with her. I absolutely loved these two they way they both understand each other and constantly stood up for the other. They built this friendship that slowly turned to more over time and proves sometimes best friends are really the best lovers.

5/5 recommend this book. Ana's ability to write such beautiful heartfelt stories is truly amazing. I love her willingness to show such complex characters with raw backgrounds and pulls at your emotions in all kinds of ways.

College Romance
Football star/Football reporter
Friends to lovers
Miscommunication
Spice
Right guy, wrong time
Crazy ex girlfriend

This is book 5 of the Covey U series. Each following a different couple. This book follows Matty and Britt and their situationship. They meet their freshman year in college and instantly hit it off. Matty isn’t single so they become the best of friends. He’s a football kicker and she’s a football reporter who interviews the star players after every game. Almost like it’s meant to be, right? Both are secretly in love with each other but the timing seems to never be right for them.

This book would have got 5 stars if it hadn’t be for the miscommunication in this one. I wanted to knock their dang heads together like 15 times. I didn’t realize how much that trope could drive me crazy until I read this book. Ahhhh. Get it together you two! JUST TALK ALREADY. Shew lol but all in all it was a great book.

keep me

This book was cute. I kinda had more expectations for it but it was still pretty good.

Britt and Matty meet their freshman year of college and hit it off right away. Right when their chemistry was peaking out pops Mattys highschool girlfriend Olana. Britt accepts that he’s in a long term relationship and they keep their relationship in the friend zone for 3 years. The summer going into senior year, they are at a mutual friend’s wedding and Matty tells everyone that him and Olana broke up for good. Finally Matty makes a move for Britt. He lays it all on the line to her and in return she does the same. Neither knew how the other felt and it was really sweet to see all of that unfold. They end up having this mind blowing night after the wedding. Matty runs down to his hotel room and finds his Olana crying at his door and he ends up talking to her and never ends up back up to Britt. It never states what she wanted but I assumed she announced she was pregnant. Britt goes down to Mattys room a few hours later because he hasn’t responded to her texts, he’s in the shower and Olana answers the door and in so many words leads Britt to think they are engaged and she’s pregnant.

This is the part in the book when it starts to kinda go down hill for me. The next 10+ chapters are about Britt avoiding Matty. Acting like she’s dating someone else to avoid talking about him and Olana and what she thinks is his engagement and her being pregnant. Throughout all of this Matty is determined to talk to Britt and clear the air and explain everything but every time he finally corners her Olana pops up 🙄 a little while later In the mix of all this it comes out that Matty and Britt got married in Vegas at their friend’s wedding which was sweet but odd it’s never mentioned prior to then. Mattys father comes out of nowhere because Matty finally told Olana to kick rocks and so she involves his father. His father comes into town and knows that Britt and him are married all because their marriage certificate came to this house. Matty says he hacked into the wedding chapel system and deleted all traces of the marriage being that Britt seemed to want nothing to do with him and was “dating” someone else. His father uses the certificate as a bargaining tool and says he wants to have dinner with him and Britt so he can officially meet her. Well that ends up being a shit show with Matty’s father being a down right asshole to Matty and then Olana walks into this dinner and EVERYTHING comes to light.

Without too many spoilers..
the remainder of the book is Matty trying everything in his power to prove to Britt that he wants to be in a relationship with her and that he sees her as his future. It did have a HEA. I wish the epilogue would have been a better or at least the extended one. I love when the epilogue goes further into the future, marriage and/kids but these 2 epilogue’s were just like 2 more chapters.
Also, the spice in the beginning of the books was hot 🥵 but it dwindled as you go further into the book and never really picked back up. I rated this 3.5 ⭐️ and 2.5 🌶️

Ana gives two MCs that I found myself rooting for the entire time! Their chemistry leaps off the pages, it’s obvious they both care for each other deeply, and their friendship is beyond deep. They value their friendship, so keep their pining for each other under wraps, but it’s only a matter of time before they bubble over. I adore the best friends to lovers trope as having a friendship like this be the foundation of a relationship makes for some great couple goals!

Britt and Matty are not new to the Covey U Series and I was so excited for them to get their own story. They have been wonderful side characters throughout the series, but they definitely have main character energy and their story was a long time coming. Ana writes a beautiful story that flows seamlessly between present and flashbacks. This allows us to better understand both Britt and Matty falling for each other and just how much they care for each other.

I couldn’t put this book down and thoroughly enjoyed reading it. This truly is a couple that was meant to be and deserved to have their story told! The journey and development that Matty goes through is amazing and when he finally realizes what and who is worth fighting for, his possessiveness scorches the pages. Britt is strong, being a female in a male dominated world, but always holding her own.

A reminder of how deep friendship can go and what it brings to the relationship if you trust yourself to fall. The tension between our MCs captivates you as a reader, Ana’s storytelling abilities keep you intrigued, and the relationship going from friends to lovers is so well done! Highly recommend this book and this entire series!

As always, review any author notes before reading.

Matty and Britt! I love them and the whole ‘Covey U’ series!

Ana Shay really knows how to take you on the best emotional roller coaster of your life!

The tension, buildup, and angst from start finish was 👩‍🍳💋.

First off, I need to say…………I hate Olana (she can stub her toe)

Britt, may or may not be my favorite covey girl (I am not sorry for this). She is my babygurl. Britt is witty, charming, funny, skeptical, and etc.

Matty, may or may not be my favorite covey boy (still not sorry for my decisions, lol). He is just a lovable (tiny bit broken) goofball. He also had to grow a backbone against some people. (That he did)

Matty and Britt together, had a wonderful night in Vegas. Until, someone I deeply hate shows up and RUINS the whole thing with that being said you can see what she does.
Not only does she ruin the most amazing night, but she also messes up any chances of Matty and Britt.

Britt gets told things and becomes very much crossed off from Matty. She doesn’t give him a chance to explain. They don’t talk for awhile. Matty tries his hardest to talk to Britt. Attempt after attempt but gets nowhere. Their love for each other would always exist. They have been into each other, since the first time they met. They just had other obstacles.

Once, Matty is able to talk to Britt it’s not what you think it’s about…not only did they have that wonderful night, but they GOT married?? GASP. WHAAAAAT??!!! They needed the papers for a potential divorce.

Thankfully, Matty and Britt don’t get one. They end up even more in love than before! They did take things slow at first. Hell, Matty surprised her with something *huge*.

After all of their obstacles were dealt with,
they were able to be together!

Matty and Britt are my babies, and I will defend them until I rot.

Thank you Ana for this arc!!

📚BOOK REVIEW 📚

Keep Me - @authoranashay

"My happiness is you. Always had been"

"You're everything pretty girl"

Keep Me is book 5 in the Covey U Series and it focuses on Matty and Britt's story.

They have one of the cutest meetings where Matty sees Britt toasting a marshmallow and makes it his mission to talk to her. From the get go sparks fly but Britt is gutted to learn he has a girlfriend. Throughout the previous books in the series we learn that Matty and Britt are best friends but it's always hinted at could they be more? And of course, yes they can and we want them to be more!

Having read quite a lot of Ana's books now, I can see that she has really come a long way in her writing and I believe it really shows in this book. There were twists and turns that were greatly executed but I also thought the way the book moved between timelines and flashbacks were done well. I found I couldn't put the book down. Even though these characters are in college, we were reading about young adults and so this made them more mature and relatable.

Matty in particular goes through a big journey and self reflection and it's an interesting ride watching him get there and work it all out. Britt was protective of her heart and cautious at all times but she was also feisty and stood up for what she believed in. She was admirable as well as being professional in a job where she was mainly surrounded by males. I loved that she never tried to change herself and still remained feminine throughout. I also loved her friendship with Erik Steele. He had some absolute gems of dialogue including this;

"In case you need this. I'm ready to be your superman"

But then Matty's possessiveness was HOT! Loved it when he became bold to fight for what was his.

This is my new favourite book by Ana and is a perfect example of doing the friends to lovers trope well.

A best friends to lovers romance that has you biting your nails and all kinds of frustrated, completely mind blown at the level of manipulation and damage one needy ex is psychotically happy to stoop to, and ridiculously over the moon when the final surprise gets thrown in and the real fight for love begins! It is angsty, it is drama filled, it has you feeling like you’re just gonna die if someone doesn’t take out the ex and lock Brit and Matty in a room together until they figure shit out, and then advice from the last guy you’d expect and a little minor blackmail catapults Matty into man up and fight mode and pushes Brit into nobody talks about my man like that, claws are out protective mode, and it is freaking fabulous! A read that is worth every second of torment, every second of doubt, and nails a happy ever after like nobody’s business.

Holy, this book gets you feeling things! A little stabby because no ex should be that heinous and no father that cruel, so much anxiety because time is slipping away and the feeling Matty and Brit are going to lose it before they ever really have it is real, and the way your heart soars when Matty starts fighting and Brit stops letting her doubts rule and listens, literally the biggest relief ever. It’s relatable in that way that risking your person makes you do dumb, crazy, stuff, and absolutely lose your mind and in the way that you have to take a stand sometimes to make it crystal clear enough is enough with both new and old relationships. It’s just an excellent read that drags out the tension, strings along your emotions, and completely delivers on the ending.

Always love returning to Covey U.

Matty and Britt’s story is one that I have been waiting for and it did not disappoint at all.

I was hooked from the very first page till the very end.

There’s so much going on for both Matty and Britt. The best friends have both pined after each other for the longest time. And even though neither of them have been able to do anything about it, their want for each other has never dulled.

Their crush, love, obsessiveness and infatuation with each other has been witnessed by all of their friends for the longest time and when Matty finally confessed how he felt about Britt, my heart sang.

They’re perfect for each other. Best friends who know and understand one another better than anyone and I was so pleased when they finally took their shot!

Seeing Marty’s desire for Britt, the one girl he’s always wanted, but never thought could be his. SWOON!

And then it all goes wrong. And I swear in my head I curled up my fist and yelled OLANA!

It broke my heart to see the distance and heartache that grew between Matty and Britt because they deserved their chance and their happy ending and unfortunately, the girl that everyone loves to hate, ruined the moment between Matty and Britt that I had anticipated for the longest time.

But, leave it Matty to fight for his best friend and show her that she’s all he wants. She’s who he has always wanted.

The way he fights for her whilst he’s going through so much just shows the kind of guy Matty is and the kind of guy he can be for Britt, if they give each other the chance they deserve.

I loved every moment of this story and I’m so glad we got to see this growly, possessive side of Matty!

Hello Matty & Britt!!! The tension between these two is soooooo hot!!! My heart was beating so fast at their back and forth!!! The twists and shocks had me on the edge of my seat! I did not want to put this book down, nor did I want it to end!!!

Though this book is best friends to loves, Matty starts off having a long time girlfriend (who is awful by the way) so my heart felt and broke for Britt who soooo loves Matty! But then Matty breaks it off with his girlfriend and reveals his feelings for Britt and it is legit like the floodgates opened up and happiness + craziness + hotness all sprouted out to an incredible and emotional story!!!

Matty’s protectiveness toward Britt was my favorite part of the book!!! He backs off when he needs to, despite not wanting to! His heart is soooo ginormous and in love, it made for such a beautiful and awesome tensioning story! I mean it when I say my heart was beating so fast where the story would go next!

Britt is an amazing female character! She is soooo relatable (and not just because her and I actually share a name, correct spelling and all, thanks Ana), she is sooo loyal and loving. She cares for the people she loves!!! And does she loveeeeee Matty! It is sweet how much she wants what is best for him, even if she wishes that was her!!

These two stole my heart! I was routing for them the entire book!!! I loved seeing other Ana characters returning in this story and meeting new characters to me as well, hello Erik and Sam, Britt’s brother, hope to see you both again soon!

Sooooo swoony and fun! These two are some of my top favorite characters of Ana’s for me!!! This book has heart, emotion and soooo much fun drama, it will have you not wanting to put the book down!!!

ARC REVIEW

4.5/5

Damn this book gave me whiplash 😅

I don't want to say too much because I don't want to spoil this one for anyone, so it's really difficult to write a review for this one. But I will summarize this into 3 main points:

1. Matty and Britt are everything - like seriously. Friends to lovers is my favourite trope and these 2 had such a genuine connection.

2. I'm down bad for possessive Matty. Who knew the introverted kicker would have such a possessive streak to him. And the mouth on this man? He had me sweating 🥵

3. Olana is a she-devil. I have never wanted to throat punch a character so much before. Everytime I thought Matty and Britt would finally get their HEA, she showed up. She was such a great villain but man, did I hate her guts.

This was truly an amazing story. Yes, there's lots of drama but it's all imperative to the story in order for the characters to develop and grow. Britt and Matty's journey wasn't easy and at times it was quite frustrating and heart breaking, but I wouldn't change a thing.

🌶🌶.5

Britt & Matty have always been the best of friends, but one night changes everything when that line is finally crossed! These two will take you on an emotional rollercoaster - navigating their friendship, unspoken feelings, miscommunication, and everything in between, but their HEA is absolutely worth it!

✨️ Friends-to-Lovers
▪️ Football Romance
✨️ College Romance
▪️ Mutual Pining
✨️ Right Guy, Wrong Time
▪️ It's Always Been You

Britt and Matty meet freshmen year of college. Immediately upon meeting him, Britt is smitten, only to find out Matty has a girlfriend, Olana (who is the worst)! So despite the undeniable chemistry, they stay just friends.

Fast forward a few years, and Matty and Olana have broken up. This is his moment to tell Britt how he feels. When they FINALLY give in to each other, it seems like the start of something real, until Olana (the nightmare ex) reappears and shakes everything up. But Matty isn't about to let Britt slip away without a fight!

My heart broke for Britt throughout their journey, but I absolutely loved how possessive and relentless Matty was about proving she was the one for him. If you love a slow-burn, friends-to-lovers romance packed with years of mutual pining, then this one is a must-read!

5/5 ⭐️
3/5 🌶️

I have been in love with Britt and Matty since they were first introduced. I always hoped the would get their HEA but man I didn’t not expect the ride that it took to get there. I had a love/hate relationship with the push and pull from this book because I love that it finally brought them together but I hated that it took so long. I love how Matty finally saw through she who must not be named BS and put a stop to all her crap. I do hate how he was manipulated for so long but I love how he came out of all of it and how he grew through it all.

I definitely have a favorite character from this book and he is NOT a main character 🤷🏻‍♀️ whoops🤭 Erik was such a light in the darkness for Britt and I really love the friendship they built and his jokester ways. I even like that he saw how much Matty and Britt were just standing in their own ways and helped push them together. I can’t wait for an Erik book (if Ana will give us *cough cough* (me) his book)😂 Ana’s books always have me in a chokehold and I lose sleep to read her work.

You did good writing their story Ana!! Proud of you girl!💜

Firstly thank you Ana for giving me the wonderful opportunity to read keep me. Keep me is the fifth book in the covey U series. I absolutely loved this. I couldn't put it down.

Keep Me follows Britt and Matty. Britt is a broadcasting major and interviews the football team. Matty is a football player. Two wonderful people that meet at a bonfire and instantly have such a strong connection. One night in Vegas while celebrating their best friends wedding things happen and things begin to change. Nothing can stop fate bringing these two together.

These two have such a wonderful chemistry. So much tension. He hacks her toy 🤭. Swoon worthy moments 🫠. Slow burn but when the spice drops 🥵🥵. Our boy Matty has such a dirty mouth🔥🔥.

Guys if you are looking for your next sport romance Series look no further. This one could be read as a standalone but I recommend starting with book one swipe me as the friendship and tension between Britt and Matty starts there and is more impactful this way. This is book 5 in the Covey U Series and I absolutely loved it!
Matty meets Britt on the first day of college: she was on her own, toasting a marshmallow and he was drawn to her. Sparks flew and marshmallows were joined but the only thing stopping them: Matty had a girlfriend.
Fast forward four years, and we learn that Matty and Britt are best friends and he has finally dumped his girlfriend after she cheated on him. Perfect. Matty and Britt can finally be together, right?

I’m a massive fan of Ana’s books. I don’t read many college romances but I’ll always delve into her college romance books because the characters are never immature. Matty and Britt take you on a wild ride. Sooooooo much happens that I 😮 on many occasions. Ana really dropped some bombs. I was feral for Matty and was rooting for him throughout. I despised his ex girlfriend with a passion.
Britt appeared cutesy BUT let me tell you, the girl was feisty and she took no nonsense.

Ohhh I really don’t want to give anything away because honestly, you just have to read this for yourself to see how amazing it is.

All I will say though: it may or may not have a “my wife” moment.

Britt and Matty are my Favorite Couple! I didn’t think anyone couple could beat Hayden and Adam, but they have officially been beat!

Matty and Britt meet their freshman year. Britt does all of the football reports while Matty is the football kicker and star player. The sparks between them fly instantly, but they both have someone else in their lives. When they both realize that they simply decided to just become friends.

I think this is the story I was most excited for. I loved watching Matty and Britt fall in love. I think my favorite part was watching Matty realize what he wants, and who he needs to be fighting for.

Matty’s possessiveness was so adorable just because I always saw him as such a goofball.

Disclaimer - I got this book as an arc and decided I wanted to do it justice by reading the whole series - we then had some eventful family life happenings which means I am behind on release date reviewing but I have read the entire series just to review this book and I do not regret a single minute of it!
The wedding, the twist in the middle, everything, absolutely everything!
We all knew Matty and Britt were going to have a crazy ride and what a ride it was!!
I can't recommend this series enough! Like it’s just consumed me this week, I have never read a book faster than I did teach me and keep me 🤣 basically finished both of them within 24 hours!

Britt & Matty just were so freakin sweet on each other!!! I loooove a friends to lovers trope and the fact that these two were totally obsessed with one another for so long made my heart burst!!! They were definitely put through the wringer though (mostly due to getting in their own way 🤣)!!

Sorry Aiden & Lyss. You’ve been dethroned! Matty & Britt had me hooked!!! Matty’s story is purely one of heartbreak. He’s broken, beaten, and just takes it all as if he deserves it to preserve the memory of his mother. His only light in life is his best friend… Britt. Britt is an outgoing sports loving strong willed woman. Who just so happens to be in love with her best friend who has a gf 🥹. This story honestly the drama the backstory the trauma had me hooked and I couldn’t get enough of these two I’d gladly read this book 10x over. This book 1000% deserves 5 stars and Ana really deserves all the praise in the world for giving us these two.

Ana Shay has a habit of writing books that I want to indulge over, and over again. Keep Me is no exception.

Britt and Matty hit it off from the first time they met freshman year off college. From the day their marshmallows got stuck together, they were the best of friends.

One night in Vegas changed everything for their friendship, in more ways than one.

Can I just say how much I loved Matty? His willingness to help others is one of the MOST attractive things about him, and one of his biggest weaknesses if you ask me. He’s so head over heels in love with Britt, it’s not even funny, and he does whatever he has to do to get her back in his life.

Britt is one of those FMC’s that I just want to wrap in a hug and tell her that everything is going to be okay at the end, even if she doesn't feel that way in the beginning. She’s pursuing her dreams in the broadcasting world, keeping up with her brother’s athletic careers, and dealing with all the other drama that comes her way.

The friend group! I love a good found family element in a story, and this book had everything and more. Every character was special, this friend group was special.

Can I just say how much I despise Olana? She just couldn’t take a hint and had to stir up as much shit as possible to try and get her way. I personally think we should just lock her in a room somewhere and throw away the key, who’s with me?
