May The Froth Be With You

Rate this book
What do you get when you mix caffeine, a crush, and a secret together? – A MESS!

Madison Petersen liked her coffee just like her men… tall, dark, strong, and in hot water! Unfortunately for her, the man that checked off every box on her list, was none other than the tall jerk walking in with Michael, her twin.

Emmett Wilkes was being harassed by the most frustrating pest who kept bumping into him everywhere he went – including the newest coffee shop in town. There was nowhere to hide in Tyler, Texas it seemed - compounded by the fact that his best friend was her brother.

When an unexpected offer tenuously begins a fragile friendship between the (FR)enemies, could one small mistake bring down an entire empire in the making?

To begin with, I accepted this book for an Advanced Reader Copy review as it clearly stated that it could be read as a standalone book. Unfortunately, I did not feel this to be true. This is my first time reading a title by this author and I wish I would have been encouraged to read the books that preceded it in this series, possibly the star review would have been higher.

Madison, a graduate student, is gifted money from her parents to do with as she chooses. She chooses to open a coffee shop near the university she attends. Her twin brother, Michael, tries to do everything to dissuade her, but their parents encourage her to follow her dreams. Considering she and her brother would be in their mid-twenties, they argue like children, which I found detracted from the story. One of Michael's best friends, Emmett has been in love with Madison for years, but being shy has not acted on his feelings.

All this changes when Emmett agrees to go with Michael to the opening of the coffee shop only to have an unfortunate accident. However, this seems to be the catalyst for Emmett to return to the coffee shop to pursue Madison and after a few short weeks propose marriage to her.

This is a nice, clean romance. I just felt like I missed out on too much of the back story to make this story more enjoyable. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Madison is opening a coffee shop. She is so excited. Her family is there and her brother brings his best friend. Madison thinks Emmett hates her and he feels likewise. This was such a cute funny story, a relatively short read. Loved both Madison and Emmett, all the sweet things he did. Also loved all the movie references with the names of the coffee. Very enjoyable read on a cold afternoon.

Loved this one! It’s a second generation story set in my favorite town of Yonder, so it’s filled with past characters🤎! Filled with movie references, awkward meet cutes and secret pining🥰 Loved Madison & Emmett!

This is a cute romance novella. It is a very quick read. I will say that I don’t think that the blurb for the book really gives a good idea of the story. Madison had long held secret feelings for her twin brother’s best friend, Emmett, who also happened to be harbouring concealed affection for her. When Madison opened a Coffee Loft location events spun disasterously out of control. “I’m so screwed right now that the hardware store is jealous.” Madison and Emmett ended up in the center of it. Then they each had to decide what they were willing to do about their feelings, and deal with a potential issue that threatened their burgeoning relationship. Since this is such a short read, things resolved fairly quickly. It did feel a bit like the relationship had plodded along for years and then went zero to sixty in a day, so the forward momentum in the resolution was a little fast for me. That being said, the ending was sweet and cute. There was fun banter in the story. The nicknames/call signs were cute. I liked the characters. I found Madison and her father to be pretty reactive, which some people are, of course, but it did diminish my engagement with them a little. It was sweet how her father was struggling with his little girl growing up. “Her father recognized that she was on the threshold of a new path, a road that she would walk with someone else and not him. There are connections in this story to other books by the author. (I believe those books are the stories of the parents in this book.) This book can easily be read without reading those stories. This book is also part of a multi-author series connected loosely by the coffee shop chain. Each book reads as a standalone. This is a closed door story with no harsh language. The innuendo was a little stronger at a mild/moderate level.

May the Froth Be with You -- another sweet and fun book in The Coffee Loft series by various authors. I have read several of the others, and this one has become quick fav!! Who doesn't love a brother's best friend with hint of frenemy trope??

Madison Petersen is a fraternal twin, who opened a The Coffee Loft franchise business. Knowing she needs great marketing for her opening, she goes with a fun Star Wars them. Michael Peterson, her twin brother has had a longtime best friend, Emmett, and it always seems like they were on each other's nerves. Who knew it took a very scorching hot coffee experience to bring both Madison and Emmett to their sense?? Emmett -- I mean this book will leave you swooning over him! He is absolutely perfect for Madison. The peanut butter to her jelly....the ying to her yang ….the Han to her Leia. The way they have to work through their relationship based on their own personal life experiences are so relatable. You are cheering loudly when the "friendship" takes a turn to relationship.

Super cute story -- funny, loved the sweet/charming moments, the honesty, mercy as well as forgiveness that is intertwined into the story. There is a slight touch of suspense that leaves you turning the pages to see how it resolves. This is a quick read as the book is not very long so the romance can seem quick but remember these two have known each other a long time. Fun side characters moments, and I am always a sucker for epilogues!!

Highly recommend you take a chance with this book and May the Froth be with You!!

I received an ARC copy of this book and these opinions are my own.

♡ Arc Review: May the Froth be with You by Ginny Sterling ♡

Welcome to the Coffee Loft, now in Texas!

Madison Peterson, the owner of this fine nerdy establishment, is finally living the dream!!

She's got a coffee shop that she's filled with Star Wars references and everything is going swimmingly. And then the hot jerk she's been crushing on since forever comes in and everything starts to change.

What do you do when your brother's best friend starts to show his true colours? You go along for the ride of your life! You just have to trust that everything turns out the way it should be in the end. Even if it starts as just a hot cocoa.

This was such a sweet romance and the perfect quick read! While Madison and Michael's parents are giving me second hand embarrassment (please, can you wait until I'm not in the room 😬😂) Emmett and Madison are so adorable and I love the nicknames they have for each other!

Clearly the Peterson family is huge and the love everyone has for each other is so cute. If you want to feel like you've just put fluffy socks on and got a Star Wars marathon going, then you gotta read this. Like right now!

Madison opens her own coffee shop whilst still studying for her degree, she wants to do something for herself instead of just becoming part of her families flying company. Deciding she'll do a themed opening and theme drinks she settles on Star Wars. Emmett loves his job working for the FBI, he enjoys searching and finding loopholes in the paperwork. But he also has a secret crush on his best friends twin sister, but everytime he's near her he blows it either by saying something stupid or just annoying her. But he's come to the conclusion now is the right time, he has to let her know but will she actually take him seriously or reject him straightaway. This is the start of a very funny set of mishaps, misunderstandings and finally giving in to both of their feelings. The characters in this book are charming and Maddie's parents are so endearing and embarrassingly affectionate with numerous pet names for each other. This is yet another brilliant book in the Coffee Loft series, each is just as easily read as a standalone but I've enjoyed them all so far.

May the Froth be with You by Ginny Sterling is a book in the cozy Coffee Loft series, standalone books with different characters and settings, but it’s all about coffee. When Madison decides to open her Coffee Loft shop dressed like Princess Leia from Star Wars, her brother’s best friend Emmett doesnot believe what he sees.

This book did not feel really like a standalone book in the Coffee Loft series, because there are lots of references to earlier other (Fly Boy) books, but the relationship between Emmett and Madison is the centerpiece in this story. She thinks he hates her and she has had a crush on him for years. It was sweet to read how Emmett realizes he has to win Madison over. They both are hesitant and a bit shy. The characters are nice, I love Madison. She wants to make a success of her business. There is also a sub story woven into this book, and that I feel is better enjoyed if you have read more Fly Boys books.

The writing style is nice, fast paced and it is a funny, cute and easy to read story, a lovely addition to the series.

3.5 out of 5 stars

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This is the 7th book in The Coffee Loft Series but you don't have to read the other books to read this one. This book also features characters from the author's other series. The book's blurb gives you an idea of what to expect. May the Froth be with You is told through Madison and Emmet's pov and is a frenemies to lovers romance readers may enjoy.

Belonging to the family that she does and being a twin, Madison has wanted something for herself. Running a coffee shop was what she decided on and, though it's come with challenges, having Emmett as a regular is a positive - even if they do get under each other's skin. Working for the FBI, Emmett is a "by the book" kind of guy who keeps his cool, unless Madison is involved. For some reason, he can never say the right thing but an unexpected event allows them both to take a chance with each other.

Because it's a novella, the pacing of the story is fast. I would've liked there be more development for the relationships, as the switch from frenemies to lovers felt quick. But, I did like how they clashed and how different they were yet complimented each other well. Their romance was a clean one consisting of kissing that is more than a peck but not steamy, and innuendo is present in the story. While this can be read as a standalone, I think the enjoyment will be better if you've read the author's Flyboys books as you may feel more connected to the characters. Overall, this novella is worth the try.

Frothy Coffee plus hilarious sweetness

If you're new to Ginny Sterling, you are in for a treat!! Her humorous delivery of realistic storylines is always a guaranteed win for me.

May The Froth Be With You is the seventh release of The Coffee Loft Series. While each book is connected to a Coffee Loft franchise, they are all standalones and can be read in any order.

I am so super excited! I absolutely ADORE Ginny's Healing Hearts and Flyboys series. This beautifully crafted story is sweetly delivered with snort inducing hilariousness!

Packed with connections and community, this book features a Second Generation love story (my favorite) of BOTH the Healing Hearts (I've read EVERY ONE) and Flyboys Series'.  Madison, the daughter of Glory and Alpo (self-proclaimed perv), falling in love with Emmett, the son of Wilkes and Ava, who also just happens to be her twin brother's best friend!

Another adorable addition to the Coffee Loft series! This is only my second one, but already I find them so addictive. Madison is a grad student and opens up a coffee shop near her university. She has a twin, Michael, whose best friend Emmett, has always been in love with her. But he's too shy to let her know, so of course she has no clue. In fact she thinks he hates her and he thinks the same of her. But an incident at the opening of her coffee shop, leads Emmett to continue to return and pursue her and things change between them.
The characters were fun and endearing and the story kept me smiling and laughing all the way. The only drawback is that I got the impression I should have probably read some of the author's previous books, so it didn't truly feel like a standalone. But that didn't deter from my enjoyment of the story.
A super cute and entertaining addition to the series!

I've always loved the Sibling's Best Friend trope and Ginny Sterling nailed it with this one, especially with a little bit of enemies turned to (fr)enemies turned to more vibes going on! It was delightfully funny mixed with great chemistry and sweet romance! Perfect combination in my book!

Madison and Michael are twins. And Emmett is Michael's best friend. Madison and Emmett haven't quite gotten along well. But Madison has crushed on him for years! When he shows up at the opening day for her Coffee Loft store, all bets are off. And he's a little tongue-tied too. *winks* You'll see why! Madison's dad cracked me up during that scene! Good job dad!!!

I loved the very creative drink menu at the beginning of the book. Madison is a bit obsessed with Star Wars. I loved how she made that the decorative theme in her Coffee Loft store. It was awesome. And all of the talk about Star Wars in the book made me smile.

Emmett is done with the little war between him and Madison but he finds himself on a no-win scenario. What will he do to make it so he might have a chance? Ohhhh, it was sooooo good!

The waving of the proverbial white flag had me smiling. It was just so sweet seeing how their relationship started changing. Watch out for those sparks flying! ;-)

One of my favorites so far in The Coffee Loft series, which is saying something because I've thoroughly enjoyed them all!

Content: Clean. Some kisses but nothing further.

I received a copy from the author. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

Happy Reading!!!

This is a cute story from the coffee loft book series. All of these books can be read as a standalone, although this book is a spinoff from the authors Flyboy series. Since this is the first book I’ve read from this author, I felt a little bit cheated by not knowing more of the backstory of Emmett, Madison and Madison‘s family. The storyline was good, and I enjoyed the sweet romance. The characters were fun and likable. As I got to the end of the book, I was disappointed in the proposal scene. Emmett was so sweet throughout the book, and I felt like he just bombed the proposal. I also felt like the coffee shop was so important to Madison throughout the book but in the end it was just a drudgery. I definitely have mixed feelings on the rating. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4. It is a sweet romcom.

Summary:

Madison is opening a Coffee Loft location in Tyler, TX. She has had a crush on her brother’s best friend Emmett. On opening day, she meant to throw coffee on her brother for aggravating her but it instead hit Emmett.

Emmett works for the FBI and has had a crush on Madison for years. He went to the hospital with second degree burns after she accidentally threw coffee on him. She visited him and he decided after she left that it was time for him to finally make a move.

My Thoughts:

This was my first book by Ginny Sterling and I really enjoyed it.

I enjoyed Madison and Emmett’s characters. I liked the two of them being together and I really liked Madison’s dad and uncle’s reaction when Emmett gave her his number.

I wished this would have been a full length book instead of a novella. I just wanted more of Madison and Emmett.

Thank you Ginny Sterling for the ARC of May the Froth Be With You.

Sure I liked the characters, they were funny and cute, but I felt like the story could've been so much more. It was too short for the characters and left out a TON of possibilities that should've been explored. The relationship was so sudden I was confused about how that is even possible. At some point it said the past few weeks and months and I blinked in shock. Cause reading it, it might have been 2 days? Maybe a week? I feel like the characters missed their moment, which they could've had.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the writing style. The characters were actually really well constructed and gave space for development throughout the book. The setting was great and the story itself was a cute plot. No dislikes on that part.

I get that it is a novella, but this one could've been a novel. Actually sad about it...

This was book was cute and now makes me want to read the flyboys series even more . Another coffee loft franchise and the crush on a brother’s bestie . Michael and Madison are twins. Michael has always had a thing for his sisters best friend but it takes two to tango . This book focuses on Madison and Michael’s best friend Emmett. They have both help secret crushes but they were like oil and water when in close contact until one unfortunate incident. She apologizes to Emmett but he says it’s accidental and asks her out for real . There is a secret that comes across his desk at the fbi that he needs to fix before it is the end of them. This book is full of love and laughter. If you need a quick read then try this out

This was a cute, very quick read. This is a standalone book, but I wish I had read some of the Flyboys books to have the history and relationship details of Emmett & Madison.

Spoiler alert coming......

The author shares early in the book that Madison & Emmett have known ecahother & always liked each other but this book does not go into great detail of their relationship. One day they're on their 1st date, and it seemed like in the next few days, they were at the courthouse getting married. The author does have a note after the Epilogue sharing that the characters are carried over from one of her Flyboys books - that helped the bo9k make a little more sense to me.

Great addition to the series this one by Ginny Sterling.
Emmett is a new FBI agent and has had a crush on his best friend’s sister, Madison, forever. When he sees her in her Princess Leia costume he is so flustered he blurts out all the wrong things.
Madison has had a crush on Emmett years too and can’t believe she accidentally threw a cup of scalding coffee on him at her coffee shop opening.
Will their budding relationship survive when he’s assigned the investigation of the Flyboy’s B52 ownership?

I may not be a huge Star Wars fan, but this sure is a catchy title. Madison has crushed on Emmett for a while and she thinks he only sees her as his best friend’s twin sister. Emmett not only sees Madison but he’s in love with her. I loved how he proved it to her. I won’t tell how he did that, but you’ll not have any doubts after reading this book that had me laughing out loud, swooning, and smiling. I look forward to reading more from this author.

A beautiful love story with some fascinating twists and turns! Madison is setting up her own coffee shop when she runs into Emmett in a very memorable way - and nothing is quite the same for either of them afterwards. There's some tussles with integrity, some soul-searching, a glimpse into what it's like to run a coffee shop, and as always Hunter 'Alpo' Peterson steals the show by just being… Alpo (if you know, you know!) Thanks Ginny for another glimpse into my favourite part of Texas.

Madison and Emmett are not exactly friends. They are more like frenemies. Madison's brother is best friends with Emmett and she is sure he has never liked her. The truth couldn't be farther from the truth. This story if funny and lots of fun to read with a good dose of humor and clean and wholesome romance.

This book is part of the Coffee Loft series and brings up the Flyboys series stories, as well.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good romance.

This is the first time I’ve read anything written by this author, and I really liked her book. It was such a sweet, love story between two Frenemies, who were actually secretly in love with each other. They fought all the time and Emmett happened to be Madison‘s brother’s best friend.

Madison opens a coffee shop and there Emmett leaves her something to give a clue that he liked her. There are a lot of funny moments in this book. I can’t wait until the brother’s book comes out.

This is a second generation story connected to Ginny Sterling's Fly Boys and Healing Hearts series. While there are characters mentioned from those series, this story can definitely be read on its own.

Madison Peterson has grown up and is striking out on her own but with her family bring close at hand as the Peterson clan is known to do. Emmett Wilkes has been there in the background all this time. Will he finally take a chance on love or will he let it slip beyond his reach?

Super sweet romance with that touch of home that Ginny is so good at weaving into her books!

It was funny how Emmett and Madison were like oil and water. It was even funnier that they really, really liked each other. But nerves make them act like Fools. Until, Madison accidentally spills piping hot coffee on his stomach. Emmett finally gets the nerve to ask her on a date. A wonderfully romantic date. It is the beginning of something wonderful, even with her protective father hovering nearby.

I loved this novella!! I really enjoyed the characters. This was a fast, easy read. Madison has feelings for her brother's friend Emmett (and Emmett has feelings for Madison). Finally these two both have events that happen which they come together and end up being a couple. I think it was funny with a happy ending. I also thought it was very eventful and playful. I highly recommend.

I read this as an ARC from Ginny directly! I absolutely loved this novel. It was short, and pretty comical! This novel focuses on Madison who is opening a coffee shop and her brother brings in his best friend. Madison believes her brothers bf hates her however it is the complete opposite. There are moments when I could not stop laughing, and other moments I was cheering for Emmett and Madison! This is such a good HEA!

This book was the second generation book of a lifetime. You get Alpo and Glory's daughter from the Flyboys along with Wilkes' son from Healing Hearts. Throw in coffee and Star Wars to make it even better. I laughed so many times while reading this book. This is book is a guilty pleasure read that will have you hooked from the first sentence. There are many Star Wars related quotes and images through out that make it even better. Read you must!

I’m loving these Coffee Loft books and I’m a huge Star Wars nerd, so this was heaven for me. The characters were so lovable and so funny, I was laughing from start to finish! A little drama, a little intrigue, and a scary dad to keep things interesting. I definitely had a few FRIENDS vibes with that costume, IYKYK, and I’m here for it! This is a standalone, although there were characters from books the author previously wrote. I didn’t read any of them, and I never felt lost. Highly recommend!
