Hi, my name is Abby. I hope you enjoy my exciting new romance and erotica stories.
I love stories about strong, female protagonists that give you a good character arc and background to the action as well as providing the steamy details of what they get up to. I am particularly attracted to themes like wife-swapping, voyeurism, exhibitionism, and public and group encounters.
I am thirty-years-old and live in the beautiful forests of rural Ontario, Canada, with my two dogs.
I hope you enjoy my stories. You are always welcome to contact me at: abby@type-writer.net
When I left Lacey in The Assignment 1 she was on her first trip to the Mansion where she was posing as a nude statue. Number 2 opens with the four men the is there to entertain doing their best to humiliate and use her. She finds herself once again questioning herself and wondering if she will be able to back out of the life as a high price call girl.
After returning to her new home she tries to wash away all of the shame and self pity that she is feeling. Chloe shows up to take her on a promised shopping spree during which the two begin becoming friends because they are in the same situation. The shopping ends with a dinner during which both girls confide in each other things that no one knows and that for Lacey may expose her cover story.
But Lacey finds herself alone and lonely. So off to a bar she goes where she finds herself in a touchy situation and is rescued by the bar manager, Jason. Again she is full of recriminations and begins to wish she had not taken the assignment. She goes to the magazine offices and meets with Gretchen who promises to pull her out but they must wait until the weekend.
Lacey looks up Jason to thank him for the help and while they are together Chloe calls upset because of the way two men from the exclusive club has treated her the previous night. Both girls realize that the men they are dealing with are not really interested in the sex with them but it is the power that they can lord over them. Jason provides them a place to meet and talk and accepts them for who they are and encourages both of them.
They are called back to the mansion evidently for a banquet, but being together seems to help ease the questions that they both have. Lacey has begin to question whether she wants to get out before she exposes these men for the abuse that they are putting women through simply because they can afford it and without any caring about how they are treating these girls. I am looking forward to Number 3 to see how Lacey handles the situation.
Intriguing twist on what we'll do to protect others.
Short review: I gave this five stars because of originality, characters that aren't flat but believable and since it got me thinking what lines would I cross to protect others.
Expanded review: This series Ms. Weeks is writing is both entertaining and thought provoking, an odd combination in this genre. The characters are fleshed out well with an attention to idiosyncrasies that are seen in others, but without using them in clinched fashions. The plot moves along smoothly. Those places were it seems to drag in retrospect are Ms. Weeks setting the stage for a future payoff. The editing was well done. I noticed no glaring grammatical or spelling errors. However, there are three occasions of formatting marks being visible in the kindle version.
The book does have some negatives, these don't detract from the reading experience for me, thus I didn't deduct a star. Ms. Weeks sex scenes come across very clinical, as if described by Ann observer rather than experienced by the character. Since this is a serialized novel it may be that some story lines started and then abandoned will be woven in at a later point.
This book and the previous part are easy to read in two or three hours for me. Thusly, I find it perfect for a nights escape when the wife has her girls night. If you decide to read this book it is my opinion you'll be pleased also.
This book was a lot darker than the first. There were moments when I thought I could not finish but, I hate not finishing a book. So I kept on reading and I was glad I did. I just want Lacey to get her revenge, I will have to read the rest of the series to find out, I'm now hooked on the story. I wish this had been made into one book instead of ending in the middle of something going on. Don't read this book if you want a cute, feel good story this is not the one but if you want to read what life is like for the escort girls or the hookers than read this series.
As always Abby Weeks books leave you hanging. I do love her books, I read them all in one day. I do wish her books were a little longer, I feel like I am just getting started and I am at the end of the book. but she will always get 5 stars rating from me. I will definitely be getting the next installment of The Assignment.
Since the end of the last book I knew Lacey had a lot of struggles going on inside of her. To me this was more of a mental book. It goes deeper into her thoughts. She is still struggling with what she is doing and how she feels about it. But now she has friends that have a stake in all her decisions. This one was not as exciting but still entertaining.
