A detailed look into the Wiccan beliefs and a suspenseful page turner. This is the first of an upcoming series and Ms Miranda has done a good job building an interesting new universe. Weaving elements of fantasy, mythology and a touch of sci-fi we are introduced to the witch cop Alexandra and those who would seek her arm. Reccomend for fans of witchcraft and suspense!

If i could I'd give the first 1/2 a 2 and the last a 4. While many of the descriptions of the world and magic system were cool, ALL of them as a whole were a bit much, add in all the remembrance sequences and the fist half had little flow, but i really enjoyed the 2nd half.

I'll read the 2nd book.

Interesting read. I wasn't sure when I started this book what to expect or if I would like it at all. As the story picked up I enjoyed the tale that Ms Miranda spun for us of mystical things, aliens, witches, and of course she tossed in love to sweeten it a touch. Her characters were charming and easy to relate too. I think she is a talented new author, one that we should keep our eyes on.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I liked the descriptions of days and what corresponds with them. I felt like I should take notes! occasionally it felt slightly repetitive but not enough to be out of place. I cried at the end and can't wait to read the 2nd one!!
