Owen is tall, brooding, and definitely running away from something. He slays me with one look, and I know my hometown visit won’t go according to plan...
The only reason I’m here is to visit my grandmother. That’s all. Ten days, then I go back to my life in the big city.
Away from the small-town gossip. Away from prying eyes. Away from the haunting past…
...until I see Owen.
Hotel owner, handsome hunk, and 100% bad idea. With eyes that pierce through me, and a body that makes me melt, Owen is exactly everything that I should avoid.
But aren’t I the Queen of Bad Ideas? What’s one more to add to my collection?
This particular bad idea turns out to be very, very good… ...until I learn I’m carrying my bad idea’s baby, and I’m not sure how he’ll react when he finds out.
Note: Knocked Up...Again! was previously titled Bad Boy
Lilian Monroe lives in a luxurious jungle treehouse surrounded by lush greenery, with an army of scantily-clad men with rippling abdominal muscles ready to attend to her every need.
No, wait. That's not true.
Lilian Monroe spends her days dangling her feet into her pool, while a scantily-clad pool boy with rippling abdominal muscles feeds her chocolate-covered strawberries and massages her back.
Okay, okay. You got me. That's not true, either. Let's try again.
Lilian Monroe lives at home with her two children, three dogs, and twelve chickens. Her husband likes to work shirtless in the back yard. His sweaty, gleaming abdominal muscles ripple with every movement and he—
I'm sorry. I have to stop. Fine, I'll admit it. That one isn't true either.
How about this: Lilian Monroe loves thinking about men with rippling abdominal muscles serving her hand and foot, and she wants you to think about them too! She is an avid reader, writer, and lover of all things romance.
She loves everything from bad boys to billionaires. Her books are packed with sizzling-hot heat, action, suspense, and everything from second chances to single dads. She hates cheating and loves a good happily ever after (and rippling abs).
Liked the first 2 books in this series enough to read on … and thankfully my library has them all in audio format. Still enjoying this series, and in particular enjoyed the following aspects about this installment:
✔️ Relatable, strong FMC. ✔️ Mean girl I loved to hate. ✔️ Returning home vibes. ✔️ Small town antics. ✔️ Lovable / honorable MMC. ✔️ Addresses miscarriages and associated grief. ✔️ A seriously heart-wrenching scene, wow. ✔️ Action/ danger / corruption.
4 stars. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Note: Another great performance for this series, regarding the audiobook. The male’s voice is a bit cartoon-y, romance might not be the best-suited genre for him. The female’s voice is perfect.
Boring and predictable. Lots of grammatical errors and wrong words used. Sex scenes leave a lot to be desired. H/h apparently have a lot of sex, but we only get 2 scenes. The h is on vaca for 10 days, but it’s repeated throughout the book that she’s only there for a few days. In the book, h isn’t even on vaca for a week. This one is for the author and editor: KNIGHT IN SHINING ARMOR not NIGHT. You literally have the internet at your fingertips. Look it up.
Went with a neutral rating because I'm not the right reader for this book. I should've realized that but I was running low on reading material. It also would benefit from some more attention to polish and craft. Might be stuff a lot of readers don't notice, but would be beneficial.
Jess goes back to her hometown and meets the new hotel owner. He's got bad parents who do illegal stuff; she still can't get over the reputation and rumors that were started about her.
This was interesting as we had to follow along with all he suspenseful things that happen: a mean girl that's still mean; an ailing grandma; an engagement, a dad that escaped custody, and a fire.
2.5 stars. It wasn't bad but it wasn't anything special either. It was also a massive case of insta-lust means insta-love. I liked Jess the whole way thru. Owen reacted badly a couple of times and had me shaking my head at his stupidity but they were more spur of the moment knee jerk reactions that he regretted as soon as they were done so I didn't have too much of a problem with Jess giving him another chance.
This is a tolerable, slightly corny romance. Most of the time, I found the characters unbelievably irksome. Maybe the narrator's voice interfered. The male protagonist was supposed to handsome and alpha-like in appearance. The narrator made him sound like a wimp. I give this three stars because the story has potential and I have read much better written material by this author.
I knew Mary was just jealous of Jess, that's why she kept dropping her little snide remarks. Why would she marry someone who is not over his ex. I hope she went to prison for burning down the hotel. I'm sad Jess' Grandma died, although she got her happily ever after too.
Sometimes going home is something that can’t be done and sometimes, it’s just what you needed. I liked Jess and Owen’s story. There was some miscommunication, but then that was something they worked on & didn’t spend the whole book running away.
Loved reading the love story of Jessica and Owen. They both had such an exciting life. I have said before that I'm an emotional reader and this book had me in tears several times. Your descriptions are so vivid. I have to say you were spot on describing when their eyes met across the room everything faded away and everyone noticed. I actually had that same experience with a man, my friend that was with me said "what the heck just happened?". I told her I really didn't know but she saw that. She said, yes the whole room did. It was the most amazing thing to happen to me. I didn't pursue a romance with him. Couldn't handle his line of work and I didn't think it would be fair to ask him to quit :(. So thank you for such good memories and for a great book. Written by Cindy :)
Jess is back in her small home town on vacation to meet her grandma she meets Owen a new businessman in town. They have a brief affair. Unbeknownst to her is the fact that he is the son of a businessman under federal investigation for fraud.
Jess has her share of secrets, she was run off from the town after highschool by the gossipers who made her life a living hell.A classmate of her's, who is a worker at Owen's hotel is the chief culprit.
She is on Owen's father's payroll to send him back to the city where his greedy parents can use his hotel as a forefront for their shady business. And amidst all this Jess is pregnant and her grandma passes too.
The book then follows how Jess and Owen navigate all the troubles that fall in their way. I really enjoyed this book but the story line is getting a bit repetitive with the series.
He’s the new owner of the hotel and she’s visiting her grandma in town. They have instant chemistry and are quickly in bed together. They both give each other the time of their lives. But she is only there for the week and it’s time to go. He had tried to keep in contact without her but they had an argument and he believed her nemesis’s lies and called her a slut. She is heartbroken. Two months later she realizes she is pregnant (old condoms) and she’s back in town for her friend’s wedding.
A bit of crazy with his parents blackmailing him… and they are professing love. He moves with her back to New York.
The title of the book is a bit of a misnomer- she had been pregnant when she was in high school but had a miscarriage … so kind of a not nice book title

The end of this book gave me whiplash cause EVERYTHING happened, I'm talking NO semblance of pacing.
Mary is crazy, her fiance is the dick that not only dipped on pregnant teenage h but dipped AND shacked up with Mary. Mary committed arson.
Also, they are moving to New York indefinitely... again I ask, what about Gran? Sure, Sam and Ronnie can go up to NYC, but would they go back to visit Gran?
Very eh book they don't really know much about each other besides some past baggage and the fact that they have chemistry 🙃

I don’t know why all the MC’s in this series on their own books are so disappointing. The heroine (Jes) on the second book is way different in her book. The friend who disappoints me in her book (Rosie), is the one who’s matured now. What the heck is happening here? It irritates me to be honest, like come on! The scenarios are like 1+1 but the authors answer is 0.🤦♀️The only thing I like is the dual POV and the rest are 🤷♀️🤦♀️
Jess left her small town ten years ago. Owen just bought the only hotel in the town and starts renovations. Coming back to visit her grandmother she is persuaded to go to the hotel where they are having a dance. That's where Owen and Jess first lay eyes on each other and its more than a volcano. Loved them together after they finally get through the secrets and find their way to happiness.
First off, there are a lot of mistakes that should have been caught by someone proof reading or a beta reader. I never understand how a book is published without being proof read. Crazy! But I loved the story a lot. It was a quick read, no cliffhanger, full novel with an HEA.
This is my third book by this author and to say I’m impressed is a understatement. Her story’s are at great pace, funny, emotional and sensual. You can definitely get a sense of each character when she rights, almost like your not reading anymore but your there observing whats going on. You won’t be disappointed, read her books!
I like all three of the series stories so far all three stories have a little bit of everything, hot sex scenes mushy love story and the drama, but this story left me with unanswered questions like why did he need immunity if he didn't know anything and was not on paper work and what happened to crazy Mary? Other then that I'm happy moving on to book #4
Love in the most unlikely circumstances. It's hard always being the bridesmaid and seemingly never the bride. It's even harder to find love and be betrayed or you think you've been betrayed. I no longer believe in love at forst sight, but I still do believe in love
Knocked Up Again has a sweet love story between Owen and Jess. It was frustrating in the middle of the book that Owen and Jess did the same thing (believed gossip) to each other. Argh, but that’s fiction. Double Argh, that the book does not include what happens to bully, rumor monger, trouble maker Mary Hanson.
This novel is part of a series. You don't have had read the other novels to understand what's going on in this novel. New guy in town and the prodigal small town have instant attraction when she returns for a visit. Through a few trials and tribulations a HEA is accomplished.
A good read for people who are in to the series recommend highly can't wait for the next one of the series a really enjoyable read but quick shaping up to be a enjoyable series must read the next one of the series
It had all the elements of a good book. Mary was definitely a nice little wild card but I was looking for a bit more drama from the mom and dad, but other than that I loved the book.
This one took a little long to get there, but it was intense. I sat on the edge of my seat in anticipation for the outcome. I was disappointed at the end that there was no mention of Mary being caught or convicted in the end. Felt like the story missed that piece.
Loved this book. Jess and Owen make a great couple. Loved the adventure this story portrayed. Nit the usual love story. Would have loved for the grandmother to have been told Jess was pregnant before she passed. So sad.
Jess returns home to visit her grandmother, meets new hotel owner, runs into her childhood nemesis and then all trouble starts! Lots of arguments, adventures, confusion, unexpected pregnancy, threats, and rumors! Entertaining, like a funny sad soap opera!
Enjoyed the story. The small town bullying brought back some memories and close to a true story. Loved the characters. Just wish we would have found out what happened to Mary. Could if had a little bit more drama with his parents.
I’m still only reading these for Alex Kydd. A short little pallet cleaner with a very simple storyline. This one is a complete standalone and none of the characters from the first two books are in this one.
