Area 51: America's top-secret advanced military testing ground, hidden away in the Nevada desert, where the awesome weapons of tomorrow are being developed. But a mole inside the impregnable facility has been leaking highly advanced killing technology to America's worst enemies . . . who intend to turn its destructive power on an unsuspecting nation before the day is out. Agent Jack Bauer has a mere twenty-four hours to derail a horrific plot, as a deadly endgame takes shape in the neon glare of nearby Las Vegas. But to do so, the rogue CTU operative will have to lead an impossible assault on Area 51 itself—and expose a lethal string of betrayal and corruption that leads from the terrorists to the underworld and all the way into the heart of the U.S. government.

Ok. So the majority of books that interest me are non fiction and biographies but when I found out that this was a series AND a bunch of them were at Cover to Cover I snagged up what they had. I had one from a few years ago back but when we went this past summer they had a few more. #Winning
Yeah I’m a big Jack Bauer fan and wanted to finally get started back in these. It’s completely fun and enjoyable if you like 24.
Stories that are declassified and taking place before the series. Fun right?!?!
This one takes place just before David Palmer announces his run for the presidency and some people want to steal some high tech gadgetry to do bad things. Chapters end just like the series…just have to keep reading to find out what happens.
Breezed through it, not bad, the start and some bits through it are really fun and action packed, then there are some lax spots in the story. However does retain the spirit and theme from the 24 series.
I liked how the action was written in this, was just how wanted it.
Really nothing special here, but it was fun to set it in Vegas (even if not too much was used with the locale) and have David and Sherry Palmer in here with some fun foreshadowing. One kinda dumb thing, though, and it really outlines how actually pointless the "real time" of this book is and how supposedly it syncs up with real time, the first three quarters of the book was heavily loaded with long chapters making the last quarter have to burn through a bunch of chapters in a short amount of time. While this seems supremely inconsequential, the real time aspect goes right out the window when the author just randomly skips through large chunk of time in an ultra short chapter and really pays no consequence to making sure things make sense. Since '24' is all about the real time in its big gimmick it kinda pokes holes in this where it's obvious the author doesn't do all that much planning, but just slaps a "time" in the chapter just to appease the conceit of the show. I'm 95% sure I did not explain this well, so if you somehow actually read this, just ignore this rambling. This book was fine!
Typos (actual typos, not things that a spellcheck would miss) towards the end of the book. Wasn't all that exciting, and the plot was a little disjointed. The bad guys didn't have much motivation, and the ending wasn't very tidy.
Someone is leaking top secret technology from Area 51 to foreign nationals. An eleborate scheme to get a secret weapon out of Arera 51 and into China thru Mexico has Jack and his team scrambling to stop it.
Not as good as the previous entries in this series, prequels to the events in Season 1. Took a long time to get going, but finished with a flourish. Solid story, if you like '24' as much as I do - and lots of great cameos from various characters who appear later in the TV series.
Formatted almost exactly like the TV show, but I don't have to wait for 6 months (or 24 hours if a renter) to know the end. This book is a quick read and quite entertaining.
I am flying through these 24 Declassified books because they are so hard to put down.Non stop action and great stories.A pure pleasure to read with never a dull moment.
