Cameron Kendall is a successful entrepreneur whose stunning appearance and professional success command attention the moment she enters a room.

Piper Morgan is a compassionate pediatric nurse who specializes in trauma. On the surface, it doesn’t seem the two women have much in common beyond their mutual friend, Kelsey. But things are seldom as they first appear.

Kelsey thinks she can remedy the loneliness that envelops her friends’ lives. She suggests Piper get to know Cameron differently. Piper notes a tiny crinkle in Kelsey’s Piper used to be a dominatrix at the local Kink Bar, Union. Doubtful that another dominant personality would interest her, she scoffs at the suggestion. That is until Kelsey reveals Cameron is a submissive outside the boardroom.

What unfolds when Piper calls Cameron defies everyone’s expectations. In this lesbian erotic romance, love and desire intertwine, creating a story that explores the depth of connection that lies Below the Surface.

Though the writing was quite longwinded, the story was too superficial for my taste. But maybe that’s just because of my expectations and other readers will enjoy this more. I kept skipping parts of the book and it’s too expensive for that.

Solid Beginning…

Consent. Consent. Consent.

Nice quick read about a lovely sapphic relationship that started as kind of friends to a slow build into more. One is a past dominate in the bdsm club scene. The other is a natural submissive but not i to the scene at all and has no desire to get into it. As their relationship grows so do the desires to make one another fulfilled. A key to this endeavor is lots and lots of communication, even if it’s something you’d rather not discuss. Another is trust. We get to witness how they increase trust and communication throughout the story. It leaves off with a hfn with news of a second story coming. I’d very much love to continue seeing this couple grow and explore each other.

Brilliant

I love this author. She tends to take you places unexpectedly. Her writing is easy to read and allows you to drift along on the journey of her choosing.

You are curious after the first paragraph. Then you just sink into the story. Like floating down a river on a hot summer's day.

Her journey is always fulfilling. You want more.
I always seem to miss the story, even though I just read it.

Enjoy!

An Interesting and Exciting Beginning!

I loved how this book took shape. How the characters were forced together by ones best friend and yet knowing and being around each other for years had some semblance of a familiarity. Piper and Cameron. Piper finally asks Cameron out and there is a connection of sorts. But as they reveal what Cameron’s best friend was trying to do and start to discuss their lives, Cameron admits to Piper that she has been interested in her for a while now. As their relationship develops, they keep away from Kelsey Cam’s best friend until Kelsey has a party. Piper decides to make this their coming out party. Even though Cameron didn’t really want to go because she had a bad feeling especially why Kelsey was throwing a party to begin with. The relationship between Piper and Cam was exciting and enjoyable. The chemistry was hot and the storytelling was going in places that start innocent and turns into a whole new world. I enjoyed the first book in the”Uncharted Waters”series.

4.5 stars. I loved this books approach to erotica romance. This book felt more realistic in the aspect of emotions and comfortability in the bdsm realm. I learned new things about the bdsm/erotica world after reading this book. I also greatly enjoyed the dynamic between Piper and Cameron; dominatrix, submissive relationship. I’m greatly elated for the continuation of the Uncharted Waters series!

Finding The One

Cameron is an amazing business woman who dominates every situation. However she wants to submit in her love life. Piper is an ER doctor who has a past as a Dom. When her best friend pushes Cam to connect with Piper they aren’t sure about the relationship. Soon they find themselves more enthralled with each other. A great story.

No political intrigue in this one, but filled with emotional depth, trust and honesty between two willing partners to give and receive love in various ways in order to make their relationship work. Another well-written and thought-provoking story from the marvelous JA Armstrong, but I have to admit, I personally missed her humor!

JA Armstrong
Below the Surface (Uncharted Waters Book 1)
New Release

Cameron and Piper, two captivating women, possess not only success and beauty, but also a profound connection that leaves them questioning whether their bond should transcend mere friendship.

Their journey towards an official relationship was a delightful experience. As friends from the past, they took their time to engage in open and honest conversations, akin to turning the pages of a captivating book.

Cameron finds herself utterly captivated by Piper. Their shared moments of exploration and self-discovery lead Cameron to fall deeply and swiftly in love with Piper, who, in turn, reciprocates with her sweetness and kindness, patiently guiding Cameron through the intricacies of their desires.

This tale of love is both short and tantalizing. Piper's strength, assertiveness, and affection create a dynamic that leaves readers yearning for more. Despite the occasional interference from Kelsey, who tests Cameron's resolve, she ultimately finds the strength to assert herself and embrace her desires without shame, especially when it comes to Piper.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, which seamlessly blends brevity, sweetness, and spice. I eagerly await the continuation of this captivating story. You can find the book on Amazon Kindle Unlimited, and I highly recommend giving it a read. Its concise yet well-crafted narrative is sure to leave a lasting impression.

ok

Seems like we are about to go on yet another road trip with Armstrong as the driver. Yet another series! I’m imagining the inside of this authors head as a big bag of snakes.
This story was ok, it’s not the best from this author but it is the first in a series so I’m hoping it gets better. I felt the story could have done with a bit more background, possibly a bit more of the dating that was skipped over. Just a little rushed and choppy in places.
It’s still a good read, and I’ll definitely be reading the next instalment.

3 stars. Hot but Cam and Piper lacked chemistry outside of sex for me. I know they were long time friends but they were head over heels in love so quickly and I didn’t get why. They felt only like friends to me so all of these strong emotions that suddenly had came out of nowhere. This is the first in a series so I’ll read the second whenever it comes out to see if this series is for me but for now this was just okay.

interesting

I didn’t realise this book was out. It is certainly different from her others. I have read all her series, but I will wait until book two to see where it goes, I’m in two minds about it, one I think it’s great the other I’m not sure of.

Oh, JA, you have crafted another amazing story that had me wanting to know these women. It is a bit outside your past books but is totally readable and likable. I want to read the next book. I recommend this to anyone that enjoys a bit of erotica or you want to read about two women finding each other.
