This is the 1st historical yaoi manhwa I've read, I typically doesn't read historical romances but this was really nice. I liked the MCs frenemy dynamics, backstories, politics, action & yes smut too. There's also magic, but it's not much & as explained so remained enigmatic. The art style is lovely & beautiful!

Haon is Grandmaster's son & lives/trains in their martial arts academy. His father & him had a tumultuous relationship & Haon's jealousy worsened whn GM brings Baek (an orphan) home. They're opposites, Baek the calm to Haon's fun, chaos. Yet they bring the worst out in eachother 😂. I loved their banter!

The political/war storyline was intriguing. Frenemy banter was fun! They're rivals who end up being on enemy sides - but not for long lol. They cleared up most misunderstandings quite fast haha. Pretty good on consent too. I read main story in 8-9hrs.

I'd say, the pace is quite fast, despite having many time skips. Maybe due to them, even. There were some moments that were too fast & I'd have liked to linger on, hence 9/10. But then again, it's good it doesn't drag. I'd say the angst is moderate, low enough as no drama drags but high enough due to long estrangement (yes, tragedy strikes). There's plenty of smut! They never quite go full on BDSM, but there's Dom/sub undertones. With kinky stuff too!

The action is great, suspense is fun to see. I adored the complex backstories & inter-relationships we see in here of assholes, redemption & revenge. The friends made through the way is quite fun. I'm glad it also shows that messy parental relationships don't get ok in a snap lol. Secrets irked me, but necessary. But the climax (SO SATISFYING) & stories after the end were PEAK.

Update: I read the after stories (/wrap up) after the end in the next day (26 Sept) in 1hr! It started with action, had plenty of smut (Gon got a new kink 😂, "toys" in Haon's ass lol). I also loved to get Haon's father's POV & seeing him flustered was a reward. I liked that Haon & his dad are starting to heal their relationship finally!

The romance was so sweet, the plot was plotting, and the parent drama/trauma was so SAD but so well written. Comfort reread in the future definitely…and it may be because it reminds me of ‘remnants of filth’ sm but it’s also just SO GOOD

This was so good and I enjoyed it a lot. It has a solid plot and the smut in this is exceptional. The author did a good job with writing Yeo Haon (MC) and Baek Rigon (ML) as layered characters and developing their relationship from rivals to lovers. I especially liked how Haon and Rigon changed as time passed by and they were separated by their circumstances. Even though they seemed to be on opposite sides at first with Haon being one of the good guys and Rigon a traitor, Haon was open minded and willing to understand what happened to Rigon, and from there, they were able to rekindle their relationship. Their communication was great and I liked their dynamics because they balance each other out. They were both mature individuals who respected and supported each other in whatever they did, and overall they had a healthy and loving relationship.

It’s quite short with 75 chapters but by the end of the story, all the loose ends had been tied up nicely and the characters had a happy ending, so I wasn’t left wanting for more. I liked the supporting characters such as Yang Sohee and Sol Rihwa, and how the author didn’t forget about them after the main story ended. They were strong female characters who were in an obviously romantic relationship and it was good representation honestly. I also liked how the author wrote about familial relationships because they were full of nuances, especially the relationship between Haon and his father. It was a touching scene and showed readers just how much both Haon and his father had changed over the years, so much so that they were able to move on from their past and move forward together.

This story was sooooo good, and the art hot. I loved the MCs, they had a well defined personality and the plot was really interesting. The love they had for each other was believable, and the words they used made me smile like a fool.

I wish this story had many more chapters, and I hope to find a novel on which it was based, or the paper copy of this book, to buy.

This is such a great story. A great combination of enemies-to-lovers, historical/murim setting, great art, strong plot, detailed characterisation, and realistic dialogue/relationship dynamics.

It's a rare linear love story that begins in childhood, and then follows the characters through their cute chubby child phase, their awkward teenagers puberty phase, the first love/spring phase, and then the badass proper adult phase where they are both capable men and choose to be each other's support.

The characterisation and main romance is excellent. Frenemies is a difficult dynamic to pull off, but the author nails it. They know so much about each other and butt heads so often when growing up, and the transition to lovers is convincingly layered and confusing. They don't just suddenly fall in love for no reason, nor is it a case of 'they were always in love and just didn't know it'.

The external plots and secondary characters are also detailed and engaging. There's plenty to be invested in even outside the romance plot. So much so that my only real complaint with this story is that the smut is overly abundant. I was more invested in the story than the sex scenes so I tended to skip over them as they just kept coming and coming.

Overall, this is fantastic. Such a great blend of tropes, and done really really well. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

I enjoyed reading this. The story was great the art was *chef’s kiss* steaming good! The relationship between the MCs was adorable, I loved them both so much! I love a teasing top and a crying bottom!! Despite this supposed to be a frenemies to lovers situation, I loved the communication going on between the MCs. Usually books with enemies-to-lovers, there is always a misunderstanding going on then a reveal then they get together. In this one, they cared about one another so much that they decide to trust each other against all odds. It is so refreshing to read! Even when a misunderstanding occurred, it was due to outside forces but they made up quickly. I loved how well they knew and understood one another. I liked how the side stories help finish the story together with rebuilding the connection with the father and rebuilding the academy. This was just so good!

By the title and cover, I thought it would be the -no one can hurt you but me- type of story. I expect tension and years of yearning, suffering as they failed to understand their own feeling towards each other before finally coming together to defeat whoever dare to harm their loved one.

But this one wasn’t that bad either! The pacing, art style, storyline, characters were all very well executed. Within 65 chapters main storyline, they left no trace of plot hole. Everything was resolved at the end.

The ending was also feels really quick and satisfying with no drama.

I just wish to see a glimps of Rigon’s story (since we see him mostly from Haon’s point of view), especially those 10 years he spent, alone.

This was such a good time. It had me thinking that this is what Heaven Official's Blessing might have been like if they were allowed to be horny. Anyway, I loved that they just found home in one another. I was not scared that miscommunication was going to be a factor or that they would have some weird sort of awkwardness with one another. They just trusted each other.

And this story is so funny - especially in the beginning. I couldn't stop laughing. One of my favourite kinds of enemies to lovers.

I think this might just be my favorite bl I've read like ever. The NC scenes were perfect with chemistry and CONSENT. The plot was a little confusing at the beginning but was SO good as well. The Mc and Ml were such green flags and though there was some miscommunication, they ended up talking it out within a chapter or two. Best enemies to lovers I've seen in a long while and I'll definitely give this a reread

Really loved it! Honestly great enemy’s to lovers story + happy ending. I’m all in for it. I would have like a little bit more for the ending tho like how his relationship with his dad continue and to know about the school and his new friendships but otherwise the romance and tention and everything in this was really great caliber.

How in the world I hesitated to read this MASTERPIECE?! Gon and Haon are chaotic perfection — their constant bickering, teasing, and competitiveness since childhood made their love story one of a kind, even as lovers, they never lost that hilarious push-and-pull dynamic. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH😭🥰
