Katana Collins is a USA Today bestselling author of over twenty novels, novellas, and comic books in a variety of genres. She is most known for her sensual contemporary romances and her wildly popular comic book— Batman White Knight Presents: Harley Quinn with DC Comics.
When she was younger and stole her mother’s Harlequins to read beneath the covers with a flashlight, she wanted to read about the tough as nails heroine. The perfectly imperfect girl with quirks and attitude and sass. And the anti-heroes who were anything but “Prince Charming.” Forget the knight on a white horse … she wanted the bad boy on a motorcycle.
An avid animal lover, she lives in Portland, Maine with her kind of mean cat, derpy lab-pitt mix, mellow chihuahua, and very not mellow cairn terrier puppy. Oh, yeah… there’s a husband somewhere in that mix, too.
She can usually be found in a coffee shop with her nose buried in a laptop wearing fabulous (albeit sometimes impractical) shoes.

Forbidden Romeo by Katana Collins, is the third book of the Shattered Hearts Trilogy, we resume the story when at one point Kate is once again in the middle of a storm, with the death of her father and at the same time the return of someone from Holden's past comes to reveal a secret that threatens to destroy their future. But unlike other times, Kate is going to take the reins and fight for her place, not only in the play, but in Holden's life, and although more circumstances and people are betting on destroying her, she is no longer the foolish and innocent girl from a few years ago. The secrets and lies will finally be revealed and this will allow these characters to repair the pain caused and overcome the odds against them and finally find their way to their happy ending. This story was, in the sum of the three books, a total emotional roller coaster, the characters had to grow and heal a lot to reach this wonderful conclusion that was still exciting with unexpected twists and more tests to overcome. We were able to see what happened that separated them years ago and understand many things. Kate is my favorite character in this story, seeing her evolve and become such a strong woman who does not let herself be intimidated by anyone and when she puts those who have hurt her so much in their place was super satisfying, for me she is truly the best. For me, Holden was a more difficult character to connect with and at the end of this book I understand a lot and empathize with a lot of what he had to go through, but I can't say that I completely fell in love with him. But that has more to do with my personal quirks and what I would like my literary boyfriends to be than with the character itself. That said, this trilogy is a story that you should not miss and go to read it. Wonderfully written and with characters with whom you will intensely experience an absolutely wonderful story. Totally, Absolutely and Completely Highly Recommended! *Thanks to Katana Collins, Literally Yours PR, and Booksprout for my ARC. I voluntarily leave my honest review*
I was provided an ARC of this book via the author and Literally Yours PR, all opinions are my own.
This is the conclusion of the Shattered Hearts Trilogy, and I'm really happy with how things wrapped up. This doesn't read as a standalone, you really need to read the series in order 1. Broken Romeo 2. Rebel Romeo, and finally 3. Forbidden Romeo to really understand what happened between the main characters Kate and Holden. I feel you can get away without reading the companion novellas from Kate's perspective during their time in college (Shattered Juliet and Ruined Juliet) but they do add some details that you don't get in the Romeo books. I would recommend reading all of them in publication order so they make sense.
As with the previous books in the series this is told from Kate/Katherine's perspective current day and Holden's perspective 5 years ago via journal entries when they were in college together. This picks up where book 2 left off with Kate reeling from several major blows to her professional and personal lives as those around her continue to try to break her and her newly rekindled relationship with Holden. All of the secrets, lies, and betrayals are finally revealed between the present day scenes and Holden's journal entries. We finally learn what happened between Kate and Holden that was so terrible that they hadn't spoken for 5 years prior to their current production and why everyone is so hell bent on ruining Kate's future as an actress.
This was such a fitting conclusion to the series! We finally learn about the tragic ending to Kate and Holden's relationship in college and we get to see them rekindle things and face everyone that got in their way in the present. I really liked the character development we get from both Kate and Holden throughout the series, but we really get to see how far the have both come in this final installment both personally and professionally. If you are looking for a good enemies to lovers with a Romeo and Juliet theme, give this series a go. I really enjoyed it.
Finally got to read Forbidden Romeo, the last part of Shattered Hearts trilogy and let me tell you this one is the perfect conclusion to the series. I was sitting on this cliffhanger since February and that's why I read it for a day . And what a read it is. The story line continues flawlessly where it ended in book two . I so loved it that the present is from Kate's POV and the past is from Holden's POV through the journal entries. And at last Kate starts to see all the manipulations playing around her , all the power and mind games unfold and hidden motives are in the open. And the drama doesn't stay on stage . Oh no, it's everywhere . But in the middle of all this Kate slowly is coming to peace with her past and is ready for whatever the future brings. All of Holden's motives and actions become clear in the light of the past . Both with Kate they fall victims of other persons manipulation and are made to believe that they are saving the other. And it's so good that they have their second chance even if it's with so many struggles and betrayals. Finally Holden stood up for himself and Kate and confronted his father and this time he wasn't going to be victim of his plays. Kate finally grows up to her full potential as an actress and a person. They both reached out their full potential when they parted with their past and forgive each other. Still think that Holden got so easily from the hook but still managed to redeem himself. There where some plot twist that I didn't see coming and some growth in some of the side characters but that only helped developing Holden and Kate characters. Absolutely loved Forbidden Romeo . And that epilogue was so good . At the end it showed Holden as the man that he should be from the start and that's made Kate a lucky lady because she got the guy she loved and deserved.
Thanks to the author and Literally Yours PR for the opportunity to read and review an early copy of this book.
Forbidden Romeo ( Shattered Hearts Trilogy Book 3 ) Star Crossed Lovers , Second chance romance Enemies to lovers and all the feels . Have you ever come across a book or a series that just hooked you in a way no other has for a very long time ? That you found yourself not only falling completely in love with from the very first page but had the ability to make you feel so many different emotions you never saw coming? Well Katanas Forbidden Hearts Trilogy did all of the above in spades . From the moment I opened the very first book and met both Holden and Kate I just felt such a pull to both , and then in the second installment I fell even more in love . all the obstacles they have endured to be together well if anyone deserves a happily ever after it’s without a doubt these two .throughout their journey my heart broke for them , I smiled with them , laughed with them , sobbed like a baby , even found myself so frustrated at times . But what never wavered was how invested I was and how hard I rooted thought their entire love story . Forbidden Romeo is so emotional and so beautiful, it’s anything but easy and it’s certainly not all hearts and flowers . There’s drama , secrets, betrayal, tragedy, love , passion, second chances, unexpected surprises, family , friendships and so much more . I reallly do feel like I was just taken on the ride of my life and completely blown away in all the best ways . I could not have asked for a more perfect conclusion to one of the best trilogy’s I’ve read in quite some time
This is the third and final book in the Shattered Hearts trilogy, and you do need to read in order with this one.
Holden and Kate have been through a lot! But can they really come back from this last event?
I’ve loved reading these books, they’ve been a real rollercoaster ride, with betrayal pain and sorrow at every turn, we see each others points of view. I really liked the diary entries, it’s not something you read every day. (Especially from the males point of view.)
There are twists and turns that will keep you reading until the last word. Moments that will have you thinking of the couple at odd moments of the day.
Their happy ever after took three books, and with each book you had to wonder if it would ever work! Both thinking they were saving each other. Didn’t that realise, that together they were better and stronger.
I liked how Holden became stronger with dealing with his parents, (they really weren’t the loving and supportive parents for Holden!) and Kate went after her dream of becoming an actress.
Yes, it’s a little like Romeo and Juliet, but they didn’t get a second chance at happiness. Kate and Holden did.
If you like your story with drama/betrayal/sorrow/miscommunication and a few plot twists, then this book/series is for you.
What a fabulous series the Shattered Hearts trilogy has been for readers and Forbidden Romeo is the epic gripping conclusion as Holden and Kate finally strive to overcome events of the past and find their happily ever after, but first Holden will have to stand up to his overbearing father and fight for the woman he loves. Told from the points of view of both characters, Kate the present while Holden’s deals with the past via entries in his journal, their journey was angsty and emotional and worthy of Romeo and Juliet, the play they were cast in at college when they first met. And just to stop things from being predictable, there’s a twist in plot that I for one didn’t see coming. With fantastic characters, yes, I even warmed up to Holden after realising his heart was in the right place after all, this has been one of my favourite reads this year. I strongly recommend reading this series in release order to enjoy it fully.
I could not wait to find out how this story concluded. Holden and Kate/Katherine wer aspiring actors and a couple in college, but throughout the series thus far, something major happened that tore the couple apart where they ended up not speaking to one another until a present day production of Romeo and Juliet brought them back together. Someone is out to not only keep this couple from fully reuniting, but also to destroy Kate's budding career. In this book, the story plays out in Kate's point of view in the present. Meanwhile, we find out what really happened back in college through Holden's point of view as he shares his journal entries. The author takes us on a twisty ride as the truth of the past unravels and merges in with the present. She did a masterful job of tying up all the loose ends for a satisfying conclusion!
✨ Enemies to Lovers ✨ Second Chance Romance ✨ Broadway Romance
Holden and Kate’s conclusion
Finally the conclusion to this intriguing love story is here. Be warned, it cannot be read as a standalone, the two previous books have to be read in order to fully understand this book. Told in two points of view, Kate’s of the present and Holden’s from the past, which made the whole story interesting and helps understanding it. As the characters are broadway actors there is of course a lot of drama, secrets and surprises coming. All of that makes their road to a happy end rocky and challenging. They could finally work through the past and find a way for a future. Forgiveness and love were their abilities to get where they ended up, with an epic happy end.
I didn't realize this was part of a trilogy when I started reading it but I was too far in to stop. I'm definitely going to go back and read the first 2 books so I have the full story, but that didn't take away from how fantastic this story was.
Holden and Kate certainly had a bumpy road to HEA but after all the drama, and secrets unfolding, there's light at the end of the tunnel. I thoroughly enjoy plot twist in a story and Katana Collins had a few up her sleeve with this one.
This couple had a lot to work through, past and present, but what's meant to be always has a way of working out.
Forbidden Romeo was a great read and I highly recommend it after reading the first two in the trilogy. I loved this story but would have enjoyed it all the more if I had started with book 1.
Finally, the exciting conclusion of Holden and Kate's story, told from Kate's present point of view and Holden's view of the past. There's no shortage of drama, surprises, and nefarious figures that make this road to forever bumpy, complex, and challenging.
As much as I love Holden and Kate and their nearly impossible romance, you'll definitely want to start at the beginning and read your way through. This can’t be read as a standalone without the reader being confused since one book continues into the next. Set aside a nice chunk of time and give your heart over to this compelling, exciting, fulfilling romance.
What an amazing conclusion to this trilogy. Katana takes us on another emotional adventure as Kate and Holden try to find their HEA while many people and situations make it a challenge.
I love how we see the present and the past presented in a beautiful way with journal entries…they share the joys, pain and sorrow of the events that have occurred. Although painful for Kate and Holden to share, they are the healing power to ultimately bring them together.
There are several twists and turns along the way that will keep you reading. Your love/hate for a character may change as you read the story…many things come to light about why they acted as they did.
Wow, what a ride this series was to read! I have read the previous two novels in this series and enjoyed them. This novel did not disappoint. I was so excited to see the conclusion of this series and get the final novel in this series. I loved that Holden and Kate finally were able to get their happy ever after. Although they had faced many obstacles to finally be together and work thru their past problems and challenges, it was great to see they were able to find a path to being together. Once I started reading this novel I didn't want to put it down. I needed to see what was coming next. I can't wait to see what this author has coming next.
This is the third part of this impressive trilogy and is the perfect conclusion to Holden and Kate’s journey. When Holden’s ex shows up with a huge secret, can their relationship survive? This is a well written easy to read, with family, friendships, secrets, drama, betrayal enemies / lovers, surprises, tension, second chances, challenges, romance, and complex love, which leads to an entertaining, tragic, an unpredictable page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
This was the perfect ending for this series. I was absolutely hooked! There were quite a few twists that absolutely kept me on edge. I also thought these characters were amazing! I couldn't get enough of them! This journey was filled with so many emotions, and the author always amazes me with her writing. I was so invested into this story, and I found myself rooting for their happy ending.
Thanks so much to the author, Literally yours pr and booksprout for the ARC!
Was so glad to read this conclusion to Holden and Kate's story. I enjoyed reading their story so much. This book has Kate's POV from the present and Holden's POV from the past. Definitely drama in this book and soms surprises too.
I have really enjoyed reading Kate get stronger and stronger as this series went a long. Holden is definitely a complex character and you learn more about why he is or was the way he is. So many twists and turns and people still trying to ruin them but so loved the ending. Such a great book and series!
This Trilogy was so very good and worth the wait although I have been anxious to read it, and waiting was hard! Ms. Collins wrote a very emotional Trilogy as we held our breath waiting to see what would happen and how it happened for all the characters. Kate and Holden had such a connection, and you had to hope that they would find their way! What a great read and so deserving of 5 plus stars. Thank you to Ms. Collins for this and we cannot wait for more!
Finally!!! Kate and Holden find their HEA. Kate and Holden are tortured star crossed fated mates. The road to growth and discovery is mired with pain and denial. In this final piece of their puzzle the pieces have all fallen into place. The supporting cast's roles have been coordinated and Romeo and Juliet are ready to play their parts. This story is mired with pain, betrayal and false truths but that just made the love moments more bittersweet. This was a good end to this trilogy.

Kate and Holden sure go out with a bang. There are lot of twist and turns and truths revealed in this book. Of course, you are rooting for them to whole time to make it. As these two come to terms with the past and present, forgiveness is at the forefront. This whole series is truly wonderful, and I couldn't put the book down.
Forbidden Romeo by Katana Collins is one hell of a good book. It's my first book from this amazing author but it won't be my last.
I loved everything about this book, the storyline, plotline, characters, the writing, the atmosphere, the love, EVERYTHING, forbidden Romeo is a great book to read if you want love and you love love 🤌🏼🩷
Thank you for the arc it means a lot and sorry for the delay 🥹
This book had me on edge from start to finish. There were at least 3 plot twist I can think of right off the top of my head. I have never, never said that a book has never had me hooked from the start. Katana Collins hit this one out of the park.
Holden and Katherine are hit with challenges from his dad, to Missy, to Laurie and now his past has come back front and center. When Megan shows up with a little boy they forced to confront the past. Sometimes people can change but secrets always have a way of coming out. They hurt people and Holden’s dad was a piece of work and learned the hard way.
I received an ARC copy of this book through Literally PR in exchange for an honest voluntary review. This story was incredible. From start to finish, I got pulled into it. The first person point of view was amazing and really fitting. 5 stars.
