Even if you don't do the 2 Day week diet, this book by Nancy Baggett and Ruth Glick has great recipes that will help you cut down on calories if you want to take a more traditional approach to weight loss, or just simply want to eat healthier. I found a number of recipes I am eager to try: Baked Apples and Guilt-Free Chile just to name a couple. For those doing the 2 Day diet, the book has menu plans for the dieting days, a helpful list of ingredients to have on hand for meal preparations, and suggestions for how to handle the "snack attack."

Soups, salads, main dishes, sandwiches, desserts and snacks are all covered in separate chapters with enough recipes to keep the weekly menus varied. And that is another bonus to the book. The authors provide menus for the two days of really cutting down on calorie intake. Most of the recipes are gluten-free, so this book will be helpful for those folks abstaining from glutens.

Nancy Baggett and Ruth Glick have done numerous other cookbooks, and that expertise shows in a well-written and lovely new cookbook.

An easy way to diet is for two days a week, well, easier than seven days a week. This is a great book of recipes, plus menus that add up to 500 calories a day. Five days a week eat your regular choices. And wow, this has been tested and results are way above average. This cookbook, it is a delight with color photos of tempting dishes and all recipes are followed by a breakdown of serving size, calories, list of fat and cholesterol and sodium and all that stuff, laid out in large print and easy peasey to read and follow.

If I can stick to this, who knows, I may be dancing with the stars, them on TV, me in my living room. I might even fit into those clothes I have retired to the back of my closet.

The authors say they tried out all the recipes and menus, so if you see either of them, be sure to mention how svelte they are!

I've never tried the 5/2 diet plan (eat normally for 5 days of the week and cut back calories dramatically for the other 2), but it sounds like a great idea to me. This cookbook explains the plan and provides a lot of yummy, healthful recipes to use while dieting. The recipes are well-written and well-explained and the photos accompanying the dishes are truly mouth-watering.

There are sections for soups, salads, main dishes, vegetarian dishes (I LOVED these!), sandwiches, breakfasts, snacks and even drinks. I really like the way each selection is broken down to measure calories, protein, fat, sodium, etc., so you know the nutritional content of what you're eating.

All in all, this cookbook is a treasure. I am definitely going to give this diet plan a try. Unlike many diets, it look doable!

This recipe book is a tasty and easy way for anyone to set aside two days (or more) in order to eat healthy and loose weight at the same time. Want to go gluten-free. No problem. You'll find recipes here that cater to everyone. The idea is to loose weight by limiting calorie intake to 500 calories two days a week, but the recipes are so delightful that following the regime is as easy as pie. The varied recipes include soups, salads, main dishes, sandwiches, vegetable main and side dishes (great for vegetarians), dips and dressings, breakfasts and snacks and some really tasty drinks. Definitely one of my favorite cookbooks. I've only tried it a week and have already lost 3 pounds. Yes! :)
