Magical balls of energy, brioche bread, and mangoes. Sebastian never thought those three things would lead him to his One. Can he charm his way into Drew’s heart?
Sebastian Ainsworth left his life behind in Spain to join the Paranormal Council enforcers when Master Edison reached out in need of warlocks for their extra abilities. The ideal was to help the council right the wrongs that other paranormals had been inflicting upon their own kind. He was certainly able to help the council with that mission. The adorable and shy little cheetah shifter that made his body tingle was the absolute best reward.
Drew Nelson hasn’t had an easy life. Abandoned as a toddler, he grew up in the human foster care system, not knowing who or what he was. Years of abuse and then being sold into a trafficking ring have made him hesitant to trust most, but he’s working on that. When a gorgeous blond warlock with a sexy smile makes his cheetah yowl, can he trust the man, even if he smells like his?
Sebastian and Drew come from completely different backgrounds, but Sebastian isn’t going to let that keep him from his One. Can the warlock from an original line manage to win his skittish feline shifter’s heart? Will Drew be able to trust Sebastian to give him his heart, even if he doesn’t know what love is supposed to look like?
Sebastian is Book Twelve in the Paranormal Council Enforcers series. Each book in this series will focus on a different couple, but these books are not standalones and should be read in order as there is an ongoing backstory that won’t be resolved quickly. This is a fated mate story in an MPreg world, and there will be at least one baby in this story. You should expect all the normal shenanigans, heats, biting, and remember that sometimes even fated mates need a little help.
I love this series and each book is great. Though there isn’t a tone of drama, and mostly they are about the couples, I’m good with that. I say this all the time, I’m dying to find out what is on the mountain. It’s like it pops up when something is going to happen to one of them omegas. Can’t wait for July and the next book.
Life is hard enough when you are a cheetah shifter living in the United States - as your animal half tends to stand out from the other wildlife in the area. But Drew was raised in the foster care system for almost his entire life, and then trafficked into a life of sexual and mental abuse. Is it any wonder he has never learned what if feels like to be loved? But Drew hasn't let his past destroy his spunkiness or his hope for a better future. That inner strength of his is what makes him such an appealing character. . . and his willingness to hug produce when it's a gift from his fated mate. He does have the bad habit of not speaking up for himself, until he does, and it surprises everyone in earshot.
Sebastian is a romantic at heart. He grew up in a loving family with his two dads and two brothers. But now his parents are starting to push hard about wanting grandbabies - and it has him at his wits end. His surprise at finding his One on the very mountain top he has been living on is so delightful, particularly when he tries to offhandedly flirt using a mango of all things. The lengths he will go to to make sure Drew is happy, comfortable, and feels safe within their relationship is beyond endearing. But he is not without fault. He makes assumption without clearly communicating or clarifying with Drew. He also has a huge network of family and sometimes forgets that not everyone has that to draw from, specifically his fated One. It's these little flaws that keeps Taylor Rylan's characters fun and loveable. It also makes them so engaging that the reader can't help but cheer when they overcome their issues, especially when they do it together.
The author does an incredible job in this story of showing that sometimes pregnancy is hard. It doesn't have to be life or death, like it was for Matteo and Alexander, to still be difficult. But despite being constantly sick, dizziness, and feeling useless, Drew is still a spitfire. He banters with his brothers-in-law and out moxies his magically powerful father-in-law in true feline fashion. Shy and retiring, he is not. However, he is loyal, devoted, brave, and determined.
This is a wonderful addition to the fantastical world of the Paranormal Enforcers. It is highly recommended the series be read in order or you will not understand who more than half the characters are or the overarching storyline that his volume is a part of.
Drew has had a difficult life until he was rescued and now works at the council store. On his first visit to the store Sebastian meets Drew and knows immediately that Drew is his One. Drew can be a spitfire when required, has low self esteem, is inexperienced in relationships and can on occasion be utterly adorable. Fortunately Sebastian is very understanding and patient as well as being a total romantic. Although destined by Fate they still have some hurdles to negotiate but with open and honest communication between them it’s nothing they can’t overcome together. Drew slowly begins to believe that he is equal to and offers just has much to the relationship as Sebastian and it was a joy to see that growth and trust develop. As is the way of fated mates there’s plenty of chemistry but they do get to know each other a bit before the heat levels rise. This is an easy and enjoyable read with two very likeable characters, some angsty moments and a well deserved HEA.
Loved this one. Sebastian was so sweet and caring, I loved seeing that side of him. He loved Drew so much, the only thing he wanted was for his mate to be happy. Drew didn't have anyone and then came Sebastian who wanted him exactly as he waa and he couldn't understand how. He had very low self esteem and that broke my heart. He was a good man and sweet too, he deserved the love Sebastian gave him. His pregnancy was very hard and the thing that kept him going was Sebastian. They were fantastic mates and I just loved them
Another good read by Taylor Rylan. Sebastian is a warlock from one of the original lines and an Enforcer with the Paranormal Council. Drew is an omega cheetah shifter who grew up in the human foster care system and ran away from his foster home when he was thirteen and shifted for the first time. He had no idea what he was and that there’s a who paranormal world out there. He lived on the streets for a a year or so, until he was caught and brought to live in a group home. He met Christian, an alpha wolf shifter who told him about the world he’s part of. They were separated for while but Christian found Drew about a decade later but then Drew ended up being traff*cked by none other than Christian’s uncle. Drew doesn’t know if Christian had anything to do with Drew’s abduction as he hasn’t seen him since. Drew was rescued by the Paranormal Council Enforcers and has been working at the Council Store ever since. Sebastian has been part of the Paranormal Council for a while now and wants to find his One just like all the other Enforcers who have been blessed by the Fates but he hasn’t had much luck.
It isn’t until his cousin Frederick basically forces him to go to the bakery and the Council Store since he’s never been and his One could be one of the bakery owners adult children or one of the omegas working in the Council Store. Frederick was right since he meets his One, Drew at the Council Store. I thought that Drew and Sebastian were great together and I loved seeing the longer they were for mated the more Drew became the spitfire that he should’ve always been. He had a lot of shelf doubt initially due to not knowing where he came from but also what he suffered through after being traff*cked. I loved seeing him put Sebastian’s fathers, especially his Sire in his place for how he was treating Sebastian for not being informed about their mating straight away. Man, Drew didn’t have an easy go of things while pregnant. Their little booger just didn’t let up but totally worth it. I’m glad that Taylor said that this series is going to be quite long, as I’d happily read as many books that Taylor chooses to write, especially from this universe. I’ve already pre-ordered Warwick & Dimitri’s books and I’m looking forward to reading them when they’re released. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.
Sebastion by Taylor Rylan is the 12th book in her Paranormal Council Enforcers series. It is the story of a warlock and a cheetah shifter who find love and their forever one/mate at the Paranormal Council on Treasure Ridge in Montana. Sebastian Ainsworth is a warlock and a descendant of one of the original 8 warlocks. His family is from Spain and he is close to them but didn’t want to stay there so he found work as a Council Enforcer with the Paranormal Council who goes on missions to help and rescue other shifters who are in need. He has seen others find their Ones/mates and wonders if he will be next. Drew Nelson is a cheetah shifter who grew up in foster care in Kansas, never knowing his parents, and didn’t realize he was a shifter until his cheetah came forth when he was 13. He ran away but ended up in group home until he aged out. None of those experiences were good and he often found himself hungry, uncared for, and longing for a real family. Then he was visiting a friend when he was sold into a trafficking ring and was luckily rescued by some of the enforcers. This led him to Treasure Ridge where he was working in the Council store. Sebastian had never been to the store but when his cousin, Fred, took him in there he immediately recognized that Drew was his One and Drew also recognized him as his mate. But neither one of them was sure about what to do about this. Sebastian did some research in to Drew and realized all he had been through and Drew wanted to go slow, but not as slow as Sebastion seemed to be heading. Sebastian took him to the beach in Barcelona and they started talking and learning about each other. Sebastian wasn’t sure if Drew wanted to be claimed but he convinced him that he wanted this to happen before he went into heat so he could remember it. Like all of the omegas in Ms. Rylan’s books, his heat followed quickly and Sebastian was there to help him through it with some steamy love scenes. This resulted in their bond forming but also a baby on the way but they still needed to learn to trust each other, which over time they did. They had friends that helped them through it and also a few problems with Sebastian’s family when they came to visit as well as when Sebastian had to go back to work. Plus, Drew had a horrible pregnancy but everything worked out in the end so they could be very happy together. I really enjoyed this book, as I have the others in the series. Ms. Rylan has created a very unique world for her paranormals and what is happening in it. Sebastian was surprised when he found Drew but was very caring and patient with him. Drew was somewhat shy at first (but that changed at the end!) and was very unsure of what he was doing and also pretty sure he wasn’t lovable and couldn’t be what Sebastian wanted or needed. Of course, Sebastian showed him that he was his everything and his love and that he would do anything for him and that they could form the family he always wanted. The other Council Enforcers and their mates as well as Master Edison and Dr. King were also very helpful to them. And Sebastian’s parents and brothers also added some interesting times to the story. I’m still waiting to see what the being that comes around pregnant omegas is as it made a very short visit to Drew and I can’t wait to see if it is going to be revealed. I highly recommend this book, especially if you like paranormal beings that find their forever mates in unexpected places and where one of the pair thinks he may not be worthy of the other but their love brings them together and shows him otherwise. This is a great addition to the series.
The sweet warlock Sebastian we met in ‘Damien’ who was a kind listening ear for Ledger, is next in line to meet his mate, something he has been deeply yearning for. I love that even though he’s a relatively new character for the reader, he has a connection already to others as he is cousins with Benjamin and we’ve met more members of their family so it felt like I knew him well. And just like his extended family, he is just as gallant and kind. I think this might be the first time Rylan has written a character where they are relatively ignorant of who they are. (perhaps I am wrong?) The idea of Drew having grown up in the human foster care system, completely ignorant of what he is until his first shift at the start of puberty would be absolutely terrifying and having to to navigate such a life scary, life changing secret while living on the streets added a nice different take for one of Rylan’s characters. I absolutely adored Drew’s sassiness and how he had zero problems telling his mate and others exactly what he wanted. The way he dealt with Sebastian’s family was chef’s kiss perfection! I would love to see more of Drew as a side character in future books. A serious bad a** omega!
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
I love Taylor Rylan's paranornal series. Her books are such comfort reads and ones I am always rereading when I'm having trouble shutting my brain off to sleep. And that's not because the book is boring so it puts me to sleep. It's quite literally a love story with no or low angst so my already high anxiety mind doesn't go into overdrive trying to figure out what's going on or makes my heart race with anticipation. The mates find each other, get to know each other, work through the differences of being together, have a baby together and live happily ever after. So these books have become a major comfort read to me since it takes a lot for my brain to calm down. There may be 12 books in this section of series for her paranornals but I could easily do 30 books for her enforcers in this world.
I love this series. Sebastian, a warlock,is out and about with his cousin Frederick talking about mates and how their parents are wondering when they will get theirs. When Frederick suggested a walk about, stating that how else will Sebastian know about his one, when they entered the council store. There he meets Drew, a cheetah shifter, who both realize they are mates. With what Drew went through, they went slow so Drew can get used to being mated and being with Sebastian. This was the start of their relationship that leads to their happy ever after. We also get to meet Sebastian’s parents and brothers. Great world building with heat and chemistry. Cannot wait till the next book in the series.
Don't overthink it, gentlemen! Drew had a hard life before coming to the Mountain. Sebastian has moved from Spain to the Paranormal Council hoping to find his ONE. With a little help from his friends, he runs into Drew and knows right away that they are fated to be together, but both men spend more time trying not to rush the other frustration is often the underlying emotion of their first few days together. Add to that an overreaching family... well, you can guess how difficult that is for everyone. Of course, Taylor always gives us a HEA, and she continues to move the broad story forward. I'm always waiting with bated breath for the next part of the story. It's a wonder addition to the Paranormal Enforcers saga!
I love that Taylor is able to write characters who have been through so much but are so sweet and open. Yes there’s trauma but the stories themselves are low angst and more about people slowly building something lasting together. At the same time, she writes characters who are also incredibly patient and understanding which is just as important. Sebastian was so sweet and gentle with Drew which was exactly what Drew needed after everything he’d been through. I love these sweet stories; they’re like a warm hug on a cold day.
Bjo.
I actually liked this book. It was interesting to see a warlock and an omega again, even if all the warlocks seem to come from the same family. The beginning of this book felt like it took forever and there was a lot of unnecessary miscommunication going on between the MCs. With these characters being introduced we seem to be moving even further away from the core group of enforcers. I couldn't remember being introduced to Sebastian before now, but if I was, it was for just a minute. Overall it was your basic romance story, nothing really of note going on. Looking forward to Warwick's book.
No spoilers of any kind included. So all I will say about this book Sebastian is that I thought it was an amazing read. But then again I always think that when it comes to all of Taylor Rylan’s books, I just love her writing style. So yes I am definitely going to recommend this book, but if you haven’t read all the previous books in this series then I highly recommend that you do otherwise you might be confused about somethings.
Sebastian isn't as much of a jerk as he appeared in Damien. He's very sweet and sensitive with Drew, who can be feisty when necessary and happy to stand up for Sebastian.
It was lovely to revisit Benjamin and Elias and their family.
I'm very much looking forward to the rest of the series, especially Arthur's, as Patrick is adorable, and I'd like to read more about little Edric.
Sebastian is the twelfth book in Taylor Rylan’s Paranormal Council. He’s a warlock but also a descendent of Master Edison original eight. I love how the author gives us stories from the descendants! He is mated with Drew Nelson, a cheetah shifter. Drew was one of the rescued but although he’s low in self esteem, we get to see him grow and become a “spitfire” of sorts. If you haven’t started this series, what are you waiting for? Overall, a phenomenal read!!
I have been waiting for this book. Going back to this world magically enveloped me, immersing me from the first pages. Old friends are here. Sebastian and Drew are prefect for each other. And don't get me started on Seb's famiy! Parents and brothers and cousins, oh my! I guarantee you will love this book. But please read the previous books. It is a great series.
Another great book in the Council Enforcers series! Sebastian is a warlock enforcer from Spain who moved to Montana to join the enforcers. Drew is a feline shifter omega rescued by the enforcers. These two are a cute couple, it was nice to see Seb and Drew meet and get to know each other. I did think this book was a ‘slow burn’ compared to a lot of these books but it was warranted and worth it in the end. I can’t get enough of this world and look forward to reading what comes next.
This book was drool worthy hot stuff but also healing, and funny, and great family dynamic story, and overall just a fun read. I as usual with Taylor's books couldn't put it down. The buildup to the meet the family moment was probably my favorite part outside of the great omega character created in this book. I want to see more of these two in the future for sure!
I absolutely adored Drew. He was so snarky and protective of Sebastian. Just the mate Sebastian deserved after striking out so many times. I do wish the book wouldn’t have ended right after Flora was born but we are getting closer to Dimitri’s book which makes me happy. I am also excited for Warwick. Taylor’s universe is so addictive and I will read any book she puts out at this point.
Oh my gosh. I absolutely loved Drew and Sebastian together. Drew was absolutely perfect in this book. I loved how he fit so well with Sebastian. They were so romantic and spicy together. This story was a fantastic addition to the series. I love getting to read about new characters but also getting to catch up with older couples. I highly recommend this book and series.
Love Love this series & the other interlocking series
I love these books you get pulled into each story right from the beginning I cry laugh & stress right along with each couple - I love how TBE plot line follows from story to story and that you also get caught up with the different couples and their children I can't wait for more!!!!! Thank you so much - Loei
Finally we get Sebastian's story and it didn't disappoint. I absolutely love Sebastian and Drew! Drew and Sebastian are just the cutest. I just how they get to know each other and just everything about this new addition to this world. I just love this world and next wait for the next story within this amazing world that Taylor Rylan has created.
But I was a bit confused, did we not learn if the child was a warlock or a shifter? Or did i somehow miss that part?
Second thing, they keep mentioning they gained immortality? Umm when did this happen? I can't remember reading any book in the series when this happened? Unless i missed a book.
I love Drew and Sebastian as a couple. The clash of expectation and upbringing made for some tense moments, but the romance is strong with these two. I had to chuckle at how Drew got after he reached his limit. Very entertaining book. Hard not to drop any spoilers!
As usual, I thought that "Sebastian" was a thoroughly delightful read. I laughed when Drew went toe-to-toe with Benedict, Sebastian's father. Storyline and characters were perfect for this book. Recommend reading.
After reading Damien and Ledgers story, I was looking forward to finding more out about Sebastian. This didn’t disappoint! I loved learning a bit of Seb’s family history and his mate Drew is a sweetheart! Best bit for me was definitely when Drew met Seb’s parents!
