It’s cute and good for a novella! I feel like my rating system for a novella vs novel is different because you can only do so much in 100 pages.

Ivy and Iris are sisters born one year apart but who look like identical twins. Iris is told by her trusted fortune teller that if she goes to the Monsters and Magic Charity Gala, that she is going to find her fated mate. Not wanting to settle down yet, she convinces her sister Ivy to attend in her place. Ivy is introverted and does not like crowds or big gatherings but she loves her sister and so she agrees. Ivy works in the magic library and likes more earth tone clothing but is wearing the custom pink gown that Iris had made.
At the gala, Ivy is seated next to Shane, a Satyr and a famous wildlife photographer. These two have an instant connection and off the charts chemistry. While dancing, someone casts a wayward spell and Shane shields Ivy with his body. Wanting away from the gala and unable to keep their hands off each other, the two of them head to his penthouse where they explore their intense chemistry. The following morning, Shane expresses his feelings and says that she is his mate but Ivy freaks out and runs away because he called her by her sister's name and she thinks it's Iris that he belongs with.
What follows is them learning to trust in the truth of their feelings and connection and that they are not because of the love spell they were hit with at the gala. Ivy has a hard time believing Shane because Satyrs are known for their promiscuity and not wanting to settle down.
These two work hard to trust each other, understand their feelings and trust in their mate bond. The road to their HEA has some bumps but they get there.
I definitely recommend this spicy little novella ❤️

I loved this cute novella! The instalove in this quick read is legitimized by a wayward love spell. But the main characters are obviously hot for each other prior to being accidentally struck. The world is interesting, ours but with “monsters” and magic that have come out to the general public. I definitely want to read other Mated to the Monster stories (it’s a multi-author series). The writing was fantastic. I absolutely loved our main characters (I definitely relate to the FMC not being super social lol). I loved that Shane is such a satyr in so many typical ways, but is also this nice, sensitive guy. Oh, and got to love his magical saliva! Even while being fantastical, the story is also realistic, still having prejudiced and obsessed/deranged people. The couple have their road bumps, besides just the errant love spell, but I loved the journey so much. Highly recommend it!!!

Gleeful Goblin Review: Every single book in this series has delighted me down to my toes and this one was no exception because oh my gawd did this statement from our FMC ever resonate with my very soul: "Honestly, I wouldn’t mind finding the man of my dreams and starting a family. But I was picky. I had too many book boyfriends to compare real men to, and I always found the real-world guys lacking. I didn’t have particularly crazy criteria; he had to have a job and show ambition, be a good person, and be open-minded. Unfortunately, everyone who’d met all my base criteria hadn’t met expectations in the bedroom department." BIG SAME GIRL.
The fact that the MMC is a satyr definitely gave me the same concerns as the FMC (who is also a huge bookworm coincidentally) about satyrs not traditionally being monogamous. But she wants him (and understandably so!) badly enough to risk their first time together being a one night stand only time together and again MOOD. "Still, Shane had a total “hunky book boyfriend” vibe going on, and even though his kind weren’t exactly known for their undying loyalty, it wouldn’t stop me from pretending for just one night. Being a bookworm didn’t make me a prude. I was anything but. There was a lot a girl could learn from books that would make the average person blush! I wasn’t shy about my sexualíty, either. Nope, no way was I going to let an opportunity like this pass me by."
A big issue in this book for our main characters is misunderstanding and assumptions. For good reason on both counts, but still. Once they finally get things straightened out thank God it's the happiest of happily ever afters and I totally loved this book. 5/5 Stars.

Excellent!
Ivy and Iris are sisters, but everyone thinks they are twins. So, when Iris receives a prediction from a fortune teller that she is going to meet her mate at the Monsters and Magic Charity Gala, she talks Ivy into going in her place. No way is she ready for a mate! Ivy reluctantly agrees, even though she hates big social events. When she is seated next to Shane at the dinner table, things start to look up! He is her favorite wildlife photographer and the two of them hit it off immediately.
Shane can’t believe his luck when he finds his seat is next to the beautiful woman he has been watching all night! He is thoroughly enjoying the evening when there is a disturbance while they are on the dance floor. A ball of magic comes flying through the air straight at Iris/Ivy. He shields her with his body and gets hit with it instead. Both seem to be fine and go on to finish the evening together. Shane is totally into Iris/Ivy and thinks she is his mate. Ivy is ready to agree until it is announced that the incident at the Gala was a love spell and now she thinks they are both under the spell, rather than their real feelings. So she runs!
Shane doesn’t agree but he is going to have his work cut out for him. First he has to find her and then convince her to at least give him a chance. Things seem to be going well again when they are both attacked again by the same man that attacked them at the Gala. What the heck is going on? Can Shane protect Ivy and convince her he is her mate. Things get pretty intense and crazy after that!
A great book with emotions and action. A must read!.

Iris is a free spirit, the last thing she wants is a mate stopping her fun. She’s talked Ivy into going to Gala in her place, no one will know it’s Ivy handing out Iris business cards. Iris loves partying, Ivy would rather be home with a good book. At her table Ivy meets Shane a photojournalist Satyr, she finds him very attractive and fascinating. When they are dancing, a magical spell goes off. A illegal magical love spell was used. Shane and Ivy go home together, they share a beautiful, delicious and unforgettable night. Go on dates, stranger throws spell at them. Iris has a crazy stalker, the spells were made for him. Stalker tries again to get Iris, his van has a mattress and straps to tie down Iris, make sure Iris gets spelled. Again he attacks Ivy, dragging her kicking and screaming all the way out to his van. Shane saves Ivy, police take stalker to jail. Shane and Ivy begin their wonderful adventure together. I love 🥰 this very entertaining story, great reading. Can’t wait for next book.

What an amazing book this was and can’t believe that I stayed up till the early hours in the morning to finish it and then was disappointed that it was over but what a ride it was. Ivy is posing as her sister Iris and is going to the Monster & Magic Charity Gala because a fortune teller told her her husband is there waiting for her and she’s not ready for a mate just yet. The night is going really good until a magical spell goes off. Shane is a Satyr male who is looking for his mate and has been watching the gorgeous female all night and then finds he is seated right next to her and the hit it off straight away and are now on the dance floor when there is a huge noise and a ball of magic is coming straight for them so he uses his back to protect his mate. And they spend an amazing night together but soon learn that it was a love spell and what they are feeling isn’t real and so she runs. But now she see’s him at her work and misses him but soon realizes he is at her work and tells her she is his mate and that he loves her but are still under the love spell or are there feelings real.

Ivy and Iris are sisters but look so much alike that people think they are twins. Ivy is a very outgoing PR person who got a coveted invitation to the Monsters and Magic Gala. However when a fortune teller tells her that she will meet her fated mate there. Not wanting to settle down yet, she begs her sister to take her place so she wouldn't lose her annual ticket to the Gala. Iris is quiet and not as social but is willing to help out her sister. At the Gala she meets Shane, a satyr and sparks fly. While they are dancing, they get hit by an illegal magic love spell. Iris is falling for Shane but she doesn't know if he likes her because he is her sister's fated mate or because of the love spell.
Shane knew at first sight that "Ivy" is his fated mate but something seems a little off. He soon learns that Ivy is really Iris but she has her doubts about his true feelings for her.

A short, fluffy, insta-love, smut filled read. The plot wasn't really there for me and I felt Shane came on way too strong and was kind of overbearing at times and I didn't really see them together as a couple aside from obvious sexual compatibility, but if you're looking for a short read that's not too serious, you may like this.

Ivy takes her place and goes to the party and meets Shane, a hunky + carefree Satyr photographer. A love spell goes off at the event and Shane's basically obsessed with her. Ivy isn't sure if he's genuine since he's a bit promiscuous and not ready to settle down but they get it on regardless. That's really it, Shane really going for her, Ivy backing away and second guessing things, random smut and a few filler plot points.

This was the first book that I have read about a satyr. Loved the characters in this book as well as the story line. Fated mates but not sure if their feelings are true about each other because of a misplaced love spell. Ivy works in the library and can perform simple spells in which she can help people find things. She is an introvert and happy to stay home reading a book. Her sister is more the extrovert and is into anything social. They look so similar that they can pass as one another. Ivy goes to a gala in her sister’s place to network and meets Shane. They both feel an instant attraction to each other. With some commotion at the gala, neither Ivy is unsure if Shane is meant for her or her sister. This book has love, fates mates, some suspense, and a great storyline. Loved it!.

Satyr’s Mate is a spicy, sweet, mated to the monster treat that finds MFC Librarian Ivy taking her sister Iris’ place at the Monsters and Magic Charity Gala so Iris can avoid a prediction she would meet her forever mate there. Since the sisters look enough alike to be twins the ruse can’t possibly fail, and Iris in no way wants a mate!
MMC Shane Satyr, Wildlife Photographer is attending the Gala and when he and Ivy meet the attraction between them is HAWT!
I really enjoyed their story which got a little dramatic when love spells, a stalker, intrigue and monster prejudice got involved but it all worked out in the end for Ivy, and her very sweet, protective Satyr. Good writing and world building kept the story on point which made for an awesome Fantasy Romance read.

The event goes well, until a spell is cast. Shane, a satyr helps Ivy when she falls. They spend the night together. Shane tells Ivy that he loves her the next day. Ivy leaves, and goes home. Shane recognizes that Ivy is his mate. He goes to her job. He tells her that they will be together forever. Ivy feels that they are still under the effects of the love spell. She thinks about Shane all the time. Can this be true love? Shane does not give up, and pursues Ivy. I enjoyed reading this book!!! The storyline flowed well. There is a hea!!!!.

This is another engaging addition to this fun multi-author series and I really enjoyed how Shane and Ivy work their way to an HEA. Ivy and her sister, Iris, look so alike that people think they're twins. Well, Iris asks Ivy to switch with her to go to a gala because it was foretold that Iris would find her mate - which she didn't want. Ivy's a librarian and doesn't tend to do things like galas but she has her sister's back. When she meets photographer Shane, they really click. Sadly, a love-bomb casts doubt on everything she thought they were feeling. Shane knew, however, that Ivy was his mate... This was well written and entertaining, with intrigue, drama, magic and steam. All great things to grab and hold you until you hit the end. Good fun!

That Was Adorable!!
I looked at this series not realizing it was different authors writing on a similar theme that are not interconnected. This one is actually from a monster series by Maggie Mayhem and I was thrilled because I’ve loved all the others.
This was short, so the romantic misunderstanding is easily dealt with. You get the briefest glance of the previous characters (honestly only their names). The FMC and MMC were well suited, the chemistry was FIRE, and the tropes were not overused or annoying at all.
Overall, an enjoyable palate cleanser of adorable cuteness. (Yes, both words go together and were needed) I just need to see some of the side characters get books!

I must have the witchy gift of magically finding what I desire, because this story found its way into my hands. Just what I needed to check out!
A love potion whoopsie-daisy makes Shane and Ivy teeter totter between questioning what are the real-feels and what is baited by the Fates?
Either way, someone is determined to keep them apart!

This was such a fun story to read. I loved that the sisters Ivy and Iris look so much alike, even though their personalities are completely opposite. That one would help with the other.
I also liked Shane. The lengths he went through to make Ivy realize they were meant to be together was impressive. It didn't take him long to figure out who Ivy really was.
Lots of twists and some suspense along with a little bit of humor make this the perfect afternoon book to read.
Well written, with steam to the romance.

loved it !! love this spin-off/series !! love Ivy and Shane... this is their love story... a fast paced action packed love story... the monsters ball... Ivy and Iris are sisters not twins, even though they really look a like... like really !! Ivy takes Iris' place because Iris got a fortune that she did not want... Shane is a wildlife photographer, one of the best ... and he sits right next to her at the dinner... bonus !! then, things go sideways.. a love spell bomb... a stalker... just to name a few... so good !!! read this in one day !! on the day after I got it... had to bump my TBR list... it's that good !!!.

I loved this book!! It was such a fun, light read with just the right amount of spice.
Ivy and Shane were such a cute pairing, and I love the fated mates trope, but the addition of the love spell was also really fun. It brought an aspect of uncertainty and confusion, especially for Shane, as he tried to figure out if his feelings for Ivy were from the spell or would have been there regardless.
Ivy was also a very relatable character, especially when she said that being social cost her "energy pennies"... same
All in all, I really enjoyed this read and will absolutely read more from this author in the future!.

Fun and seriously hot read about Magic Librarian Ivy (a human) who goes to the Monsters & Magic Charity Gala in place of her sister Iris and meets Shane, a Satyr wildlife photographer. It was attraction at first sight which only increases when they are hit with a love spell. Steamy times commence but what will happen once the spell is broken? And who is behind all this in the first place? Forces will try to keep them apart, but will true love prevail? Great read and all I can say is nymphs need romance books too 😁.

While Ivy and Iris are not actually twins they look alike. They've pulled a twin switch before and decide to do it for a gala. Iris doesn't want the prediction of finding her true love at the gala to come true so talks Ivy into attending. This sets up the whole plot/hitch as Ivy thinks Shane does not realize she isn't Iris. Making for some very interesting plot twists, to say nothing of misunderstandings causing major angst for Ivy.
A great short read with well-rounded characters, world building, and surprises!

This is my second book from Maggie Mayhem and I really like it. It's pretty short however which is why it doesn't have 5 stars but nothing wrong with a quick burn that's short. I loved the couple and loved that we saw some previous characters from her other books. The spicy scenes are definitely spicy and I loved how sweet and supportive the sister was. I can't wait to read the next books in this series. Keep writing monster romances Ms. Mayhem!.

i liked that the story was sweet, relatively low drama, with a tiny bit of action and a whole lot of steam.
Ivy wasn’t sure if Shane was really in love with her because he had been hit with a love spell. Eventually they worked it all out. I liked the sweet things Shane did for Ivy to convince her of his true feelings. I also liked the idea of beautiful forests, wood nymphs and other whimsical creatures introduced at the end of the story.
Sweet, spicy, short. Made me smile. Highly recommend.

Maggie Mayhem has a way with monsters and I'm so happy she's part of the Mated to the Monster world. This book was everything you need for a crazy enjoyable afternoon of reading. Monsters. Magic. Mistaken identity. Loved it! So much fun. Ivy attended the Gala, pretending to be her sister Iris. And there she met her fated mate. Or did she? A Love Spell gone wrong leads both Ivy and Shane [her sexy satyr mate] to initially doubt what was between them. But love prevails ... along with a little magic. I really hope that Iris finds her true love as well.

How do you trust and believe in your heart when there’s a magical spell possibly at play? Well that’s what Ivy and Shane have to deal with in this story, among other things lol. This was a pretty quick read full of sweet spicy romance, and with the bits of drama during the story, it was just enough to keep things exciting. The storyline moved at the perfect pace, and gave full book feels. A great monster romance for when you don’t have a massive amount of time for reading ❤️

I loved that despite being so different the sisters didn't hesitate to support each other. I mean Ivy wasn't exactly jumping for joy at taking Iris' place but she still did it. I could also understand why Ivy doubted everything that happened as well. Shane, bless him, really had to work to convince Ivy that she was his mate. Then again if it meant them being together he was going to do whatever it took. I loved the world building, the characters and the library! This as a fantastic book and I hope for many more.

A great story. Ivy and her sister look like twins and there is a year between them. Ivy takes her sister's place at the Monsters and Magic Charity Gala. She meets Shane and is attracted to the Satyr. He gets hit with magic/ a spell at the gala and they don't think anything about it at the time. They spend the night together and then believe that the spell caused them to be attracted to each other. Is it a spell or something else?.

This was a cute novella, I liked both main characters and the plot.
It was a bit silly that Ivy was so nervous that he wouldn't be interested in her when the magic faded, the guy was all over her before that. Shane was a very horny cutie, a believable satyr character and without him being wasted at all times? Great!
The scenes at the hospital annoyed the hell out of me, but I get it that they had to be separated for the plot to work out ;)
It wasn't my favorite novella, but it was well thought out and written in a way that made me enjoy reading it, so I'll be getting more Maggie's books ;)
