A Beautiful Idea

Rate this book
**Mature Content Warning** Recommended for ages 17+ due to language and sexual content. Isabelle Clark always had ideas, but that’s all they ever were . . . until now. She grew up in a world filled with poverty and hatred from the person who gave birth to her and had decided she would finally make her ideas a reality. After moving away to college as a junior she ran into the University of Maryland’s walking one-night stand. Literally. Ryder Mitchell was every girl’s wet dream all in one muscled, tattooed, pierced, baseball playing package. He thought he had the going to school, tattooing people by day, and giving girls the best orgasms of their life by night. When he found out that Financial Aid didn’t fully cover Isabelle’s room and board Ryder had an Isabelle should move in with him. On the outside everybody sees Isabelle as a quiet bookworm and Ryder as a player, both on and off the baseball diamond. They soon learn who the other truly is. Either way, they’re about to realize this idea was a beautiful one.

For the past 21 years, I have been a planner and an organizer. I always needed things a specific way and then everything changed for me. I've always had a vivid imagination and thoughts racing through my mind. I realized that life is way too short to let things pass me by, because in the blink of an eye everything could change. So I decided to just live in the moment, taking every chance and opportunity led my way. No second thoughts and just going with the flow.

I decided to put the fictional characters and the conversations going on in my head to paper. I know, it makes me sound crazy, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I've embraced crazy and hectic and last minute because it's led me to making my dreams a reality.

When I'm not writing Happily Ever After's I'm reading about them and living one. I think this world is filled with too much sadness already we don't need to read about it as well. I write because I love it and I've allowed my imagination to run wild and be crazy and free. Just like me. ❤

Not good! A bad rip-off! So bad it was almost funny!

I didn't like it and just to be clear it wasn't only because of the uncanny similarities it had with one of my fav books Beautiful Disaster..

It mostly had to do with the writting style which was nonexistent..
The author for the biggest part of the book was just stating facts, with no depth or personality..
I really hated the first half of it.. Everything was unreal, there was no story at all and it seemed like a big cheap rip-off! The feeling i was tricked was so intense..

And then it started to be a bit better.. I had hope for a while.. More original, tried to have something going on BUT...

It turned out that my hopes were futile..
I really hate that i have to write such a bad review but that book deserves every single insult..
I really tried HARD.. Yes i did, but the author didn't..
Just to bring a little passion into the story she splits them up in the worst break up scene i ever read.. With no reason at all..
Anyway they get back together and they go to Vegas of course..

As for the characters well i didn't like Isabella and Maddox :
WORST BAD BOY CHARACTER EVER..

A nun would be perfect for the part..

Now i have to point out that some things were good too..
Like his family, the tattoo he gave her and the way they made up..

THOUGHTS ABOUT THE BOOK
- The heroine was awful.. I hated her and her sarcastic ways(?!)
- Maddox? Seriously?
- The nickname right away? Come on.. I want to keep tracking the similarities but it will blow my head off..
- The wedding was nice
- I hated how stupid she was all the time! He was better.
- Editing issues.

First off, after reading other reviews on this one, I'm wondering if I read the same book everyone else did because the lead male character in the book I read is Ryder Mitchell -- not Maddox. Somewhere along the line I'm wondering if this book got an editing job and with it came a change in the guy's name???

This is another one of those college tropes where the guy's a big stud athlete on campus - every girl is begging to be had by him -- yada, yada, yada. And, of course, there's the poor unloved and confused female lead who has run away from a horrid past. She can't really afford to be in college . . . the housing bill for $5,000 comes due next week . . . and wow - she runs into the stud who offers her a place to live and feeds her. She holds down a part-time job in the campus library and is able to keep herself in school at a major college university. Mmmm - that makes me wonder why I worked two jobs to put my daughter through college and she got a major scholarship to boot. Of course, we've got insta-"love" and after some of the usual angst and gibberish disagreements and misguided misunderstandings -- Walla - there's the happily ever after and they even name their poor child some ridiculous name at the end that comes from left field -- and an "idea." Oh well, it goes to show that for the most part, these tropes are much the same and I need to get off the trolley.

Too much unrealistic and immature nonsense going on for me in this one. I'm sure I'm in the minority but it didn't work for me.

Okay.. the smut was good but the two main characters annoyed the crap out of me.

A Beautiful Idea was meh. More than meh but since I hated the two characters with so much freaking passion... it got two stars. Okay so in this book, you will meet Isabelle and Ryder. They were dating other people in the beginning but then they became a couple at some point in the book. Now their relationship definitely showed that these two had chemistry and what not. Heck their smut was really good. HOWEVER, these two were definitely fighting with some serious low self-esteem.

Throughout their relationship they were constantly worried that the other person didn't like them. Ryder said he loved her at one point when they were falling asleep and right after that Isabelle was like.. "omg should I ask him if that's true or no I shouldn't because then he will take it back and I will know for sure that I'm not worthy of him." It's not necessarily word for word.. but that was basically how they acted in this stupid relationship for the entire book.

Then there's the ending. It was cute but it also annoyed me. The baby's name... man, I feel bad for that kid. I feel bad for my ears because they listened to this entire book while working. Other than that, I didn't like this book one bit. I would've given it a 1 star but the smut was the only saving grace.

Spoiler alert: I will not continue this series even if you paid me.

Well fine, I guess I'll have to be the first to do an actual review on the book, and Ill even be nice - because I enjoyed it.
description

Okay, I'll start by saying that this is E.Ms first book and I am pretty sure it is self published so she doesn't have an editor... For that reason, I think she did an incredible job, the writing style was engaging throughout, I liked the general plot of the book and I felt like the first chapter laid a firm foundation for a great first book.

description

Okay from there Im not sure whether it improved or not, I'm a little conflicted, I mean; I really enjoyed reading the first half including the meet the parents and I liked the part in Maddox's point of view, but the book was VERY close to the whole back story of Beautiful Disaster - and as much as I liked that story, it's starting to get a little over used:

description

I'm wondering if this was pulled to publish Fanfic in which case Im wondering if the following books will follow the same pattern of the J.M books... Either way, the characters in this books were interesting to me, Maddox made a huge change in his life before he even got to know Isabella, it felt like it must have been love at first site since he started following her around like a little puppy dog. To be honest, it was a little more annoying than is was sweet.

description

Isabelle wasn't broken in my opinion, just repressed, she was intelligent and beautiful while still being humble, I like that in a leading female, she could have been a bit more witty and forthright but she was quite sweet, and she had a backbone so I liked her. I didn't feel like her and Maddox had an explosively passionate relationship but to be honest, that kind of chemistry is unrealistic, it was more of a slow burn kind of passion which is much more realistic, and they were lucky to find that kind of true love, which not many people ever find.

description

Edit:
One thing I did notice with the editing, some parts YOU DIDN'T CHANGE THE NAMES so it wasn't "Mr and Mrs Mitchell" it was " Mr and Mrs. Maddox" womp womp womp -_- so if I had any doubt it was fanfaction, all doubt has officially been obliterated.

FIRST IMPRESSION
This book has no story. What you read in the blurb was it. No conflict, no gradual build up of characters, no nothing! This was an empty, no depth book to read.

WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Maddox just fell in love with Isabelle when he saw her and that was it. Isabelle was dumb as a post with regards to how Maddox felt about her and the author tried to make this as the main conflict of the story but it just fell flat and boring. The author tried again to make another conflict between them but it didn't made sense at all.

WHAT DID I JUST READ!!
This was a horrible book, but what's more horrible was I continued reading because I was waiting for something to happen - it didn't come. It was just full of bjs, "going down there", and sex - no story. I checked if this was an Erotica book, but no - it's romance.

This was the only book that I found that the main male character GIGGLES!! WTF??!! That's not manly nor sexy, that's alarming!

FINAL THOUGHTS
Is it A BEAUTIFUL IDEA for you to read this? ah - NO!

Isabelle Clark grew up with an emotionally abusive mother who made it clear she was never wanted. Moving out and going to college, Isabelle looks at it like the most significant step in her life. What she doesn't expect was to bump into Ryder Mitchell who is the man every girl wants to nab on campus. Problem is Ryder doesn't do anything more than one night stands.

Ryder sees Isabelle as a game changer but he sees Isabelle as a bit innocent as well. Knowing that he has to take time with Isabelle but when she finds out her financial aid doesn't cover her dorm Ryder offers her a room at his place. Close quarters have both wondering what the other is feeling and if both can take a chance at building something beautiful.

This was just what I had been looking for in a romance, it had a slow build and I loved this couple together. Isabelle is an amazing heroine and I thought the way the author had her question situations was spot on with how she was raised. Ryder was amazing, he oozed charisma on each page he was on. Great read, checking out more from this author/

My book choosing is getting worse. You just gotta lose your sight at one point, and my time has come. Sorry girls.

To the point. I didn't like this book. Maybe i lied when i put it in my "hate" bookshelf. I guess i plead guilty. But i wasn't about to create a whole new shelf, a whole new category, just 'cause of a book. Especially this one.

I felt like it was and imitation to that "Off-Campus" book. The difference is that i liked that one, plus, it was funny.

I could not take any more lovey dovey. E.N.D. O.F. M.Y. P.O.I.N.T.

Absolutely-FUCKING-no.

The Hs personality is really good, he's kind, funny and everything. Unfortunately, his dick has a mind of his own.

SPOILERS(important b4 u read the book)-

-Since, this H isin't a possessive/Alpha types (i dont think he's supposed to be one since the MCs bond over their past trauma and their funny personality), the h does have sex with this OM after meeting H, that she really likes and WAS having sex with him b4 she met hero. (She REALLY likes the OM)
-The H is a HUUUUUUGE manhoe, after first meeting with the h, the h goes home and tells about him to her bff Hillary, and Hillary realises that H is the man that Hillary gave a bj to, a few days ago in a ....subway station I guess.
-H, Hillary and the h, all meet, and H recognises Hillary and does not show an ounce of guilt.
-Again, the book's really good, he's unbelievably helpful and kind and super funny.

Read this a few years ago. Loved it then. Now? Nah.

Is it me or did "A Beautiful Idea" have "Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGure" written all over it?

Isabelle "Iz" Clark is a struggling college student with a nonexistent father and a mentally/emotionally abusive mother. She leaves home to dorm and when she hits a snag with financial support in steps the campus one night stand, Maddox Mitchell. Maddox agrees for Iz to move in with him and with feelings growing and love on the rise how will it all pan out?

...........
So back to the whole "Beautiful Disaster" gimmick I was talking about. For one thing, Iz moves away to college (even though she's a third year student) just like how Abby leaves Vegas to attend college in another state to get away from an abusive parent. Then, she meets Maddox (*cough cough Travis MADDOX could you be even more unoriginal) and he's ALSO known as the "walking one night stand" of the college with tattoos and piercings (ok, Travis doesn't have piercings). Maddox, like Travis, is instantly struck with Iz the moment he sees her but unlike Travis doesn't doubt his feelings. The moment he meets Iz, he totally ceases his playboy lifestyle and is all about Iz. He tries to ease Iz into a relationship with him by starting off as friends but in turn hopes that there could be something more between them in the future.

Iz, like Abby, tries to push away their feelings for Maddox/Travis away but of course it doesn't happen and of course they fall hard for each other. Btw, did I mention that Iz is also a virgin (like how Abby was pre-Travis days)? And it's no brainer that like how Travis got to be Abby's first, Maddox is also Iz's.

I KNOW it sounds like I'm ranting and bashing this book and in a way I am BUT....for some weird reason I still liked it. Strange eh? I can't explain it... similarities withstanding and a whole lot of cheesiness to boot, "A Beautiful Idea" was a decent read for me. Maybe it's my bias because of "Beautiful Disaster"???

I also appreciated how there's no love triangles and how none of Maddox's "slores"(sluts/whores) make appearances in the book. I always hate reading messy love lives with added people in the mix who try to break them apart. It gets old and makes me wanna threaten violence on some people! lol.

Anyway....with all that said.....

Over all, not a bad read.

I liked this book, I was really worried that it would be too much like Beautiful Disaster...which can't really be duplicated. ..after reading the reviews, but it really wasn't. I mean other than them moving in together and few MINOR similarities, I thought it held its own.
I gave it 4 stars because I felt it was a little immature. ..but then I saw the picture of the author and she looks 15 (this is a compliment, not a critique), so it made more sense. The misunderstandings that cause the breakup were just a little juvenile, and to think they went months still living together and not discussing it was too far fetched.

At 20 years old Isabelle is finally getting the hell out of dodge amd all she's leaving behind is a junkie alcoholic mother who hates her. Starting her junior year at college, for the forst time in her life she has friends...real friends...and Maddox, the campus heart throb who literally ran into her. When a problem with her financial aid has her looking for a place to stay, Maddox offers her his spare bedroom. The tension between them heats up until it explodes in wonderfully written porn...lol.

This book had a lot of potential. I can see how it could be comparable to beautiful disaster.

It did have some originality to it.

I would have liked to hear more about Maddox's baseball playing. Supposedly he got a full ride, but there was only one mention of him in a baseball uniform. Which was nearly the only mention of baseball. Supposedly he is a tattoo artist, but he's never at work.

SPOILERS

******
Isabelle completely jumps to conclusions when Maddox gets second thoughts when they start to have sex and he stops them. She doesn't let him explain. She tells him she doesn't want his Christmas presents and then they ignore each other for a couple of months.

Later she decides to move out, so Maddox has sex with her. They say they love each other and then they live happily ever after.

There really wasn't much to this story. I'm not sure the author put enough time into it. It really started out fairly well, but then turned to crap halfway through.

2 stars. And that is only because of the baseball uniform. They get me every time!

Ms. Isabella has some interesting thoughts, "and holy s***balls, mothereffer, he had dimples. Ugh, yup I was a goner! Long gone, sayonara sucker!." Yep real interesting. Maddox may be a ladies man, but when he met Isabella he had eyes only for her, "sweetheart, it's a Friday night and we are in college. We are leaving in fifteen minutes. You have the choice of wearing that or something else. It won't matter to me either way because I would prefer you in nothing, but those are your options." Our girl has quite the temper, or a jealous side, "you have got some effing nerve accusing me of that. Maddox, you are the King of sleeping with any girl who is willing to spread her legs for you. And my god, are they willing!" And ladies he's tatted and pierced (winks) "Maddox, you have no idea how much I want you. Then I see your damn nipples are pierced and I want you even more right damn now! Don't you dare even think about taking those piercings out." I liked this book.

I read this back in June 2013 when it had a different cover & now it doesn't show up on Goodreads that I read so I copied my review from Amazon (which it's weird how Amazon still has my review on there but doesn't acknowledge that I bought the book or telling me to update with new cover).

I don't generally write reviews but I felt like I had to this time since there wasn't one here yet. I read a ton of books & I was sooooo not disappointed with this one. I loved the story of Madd & Iz. The character development was great & you also can't not love the supporting characters. There's a happy ending with no cliffhanger!! The next book in the series is Ashlynn & Jason's story. I loved that I wasn't left hanging at the end of the book. You'll laugh, swoon, & cry while reading!! Such a great read!! You won't be disappointed!!

Isabelle could not run far enough from home, but college would have to do. My favorite part of this book is that Isabelle can not figure out why people are staring at her, she thinks she has something on her face. She has no idea how beautiful she is, which is thanks to her upbringing. When Ryder & Isabelle bump into each other, a friendship begins. It takes a long while before things start heating up between these two but that is only because Isabelle can not take a hint. Things are great for awhile ,but there was an uneasy undertone. Everything explodes in one instant, and that is it their over. They avoid each other and just when Isabelle decides it is time to move on things explode again but this time the result is amazing. Lots of hot, juicy, steamy, sex. Fabulous ending!

Disappointed

The blurb sounded good but the book ended up being a big disappointment. I know Isabelle had a crappy childhood but she got on my nerves because she was so whiny and immature. Ryder wasn't much better. He wasn't whiny but they both sure did cry a lot. The language was excessive and turned me off from the story even more. I just hope the rest of the books in this series are better.

This book, in some ways, reminded me of Beautiful Disaster. I just felt a little of Travis in Maddox, and yes the lead male character of this book is named Maddox. Maddox wasn’t a boxer or anything, it was just his character’s demeanor, storyline and parts of his background that reminded me of Travis from Beautiful Disaster. But there is no contest between Maddox and Travis because Travis wins hands down.

Isabelle was emotionally abused by a mother, Cynthia, who never wanted her. When Cynthia found out she was pregnant with Isabelle, Isabelle’s father left. She was told all throughout her life that she was worthless and no one would ever love her. When you start to hear something enough, you begin to believe it. I felt sympathy for the little girl who had to grow up without a mother and father to care for her, as well as growing up without food, clothes and friends. When she received financial aid to put her through college, she left her mother and that horrible life behind her. I couldn’t connect with Isabelle’s character. Her character’s personality traits were all over the place, and to me, they didn’t match up with her background.

Maddox is a baseball player for his college team, and works at a tattoo shop in town. Maddox is extremely attractive and could have his pick of women. He is majoring in business and hopes to one day own a chain of tattoo shops and maybe a club in Las Vegas. My first impression about Maddox was that he got around because it was said multiple times that he had a revolving door of women but never dated any of them. Apparently, his need to avoid dating women was due to the girl he dated in high school who cheated on him. He is very popular in College and an all around good guy from what I can tell. He is very close with his family and seems like the kind of guy to want a wife, the white picket fence and 2.5 kids. I guess that was one of the few problems I had connecting with the book. One minute he was referred to as a player, although I never saw that part of him, then he is this straight laced guy waiting for the American dream. I never really got the bad boy vibe from him. I mean, the first day he bumps into her he is falling in love with her. I just couldn’t connect with Maddox because his character was described as a player, yet he displayed absolutely no characteristics of the bad boy player at all. It was frustrating.

On her first day of classes, Isabelle literally runs into Maddox, and their interaction brings a smile to his face as well as an interest in getting to know Isabelle. They have a class together and for a couple of weeks see each other in passing but nothing serious. When Isabelle finds out her financial aid doesn’t cover her dorm room she breaks down in tears in front of Maddox and of course Maddox offers her his extra room rent free. I never saw Maddox with another woman. When she started living with Maddox he was home with her every night. They became friends, but there was always an attraction between the two of them and it started to develop into something more.

When they finally started dating, it felt rushed. I couldn’t feel an emotional connection to their relationship. I’m going to try to explain this, so bare with me. I think that the way other characters in the book described Isabelle and Maddox and their relationship made it seem like a match made in heaven, but when you are listening to Isabelle and Maddox in first person point of view and seeing their private relationship it doesn’t match up. I didn’t feel their chemistry or “love” for each other. And don’t even get me started about their long “break-up” period! It was a ridiculous situation that was blown out of proportion by Isabelle, and instead of listening to Maddox and his reasoning, she blows up and leaves him (although they still live together for the next couple months). And I cannot see them living together and Maddox never trying to win her back or explain why he acted how he did that night.

I did enjoy some aspects of the book. The other characters were enjoyable, and from what I understand Emily McKee is making this a series. The sex scenes between Isabelle and Maddox were pretty hot, I loved Maddox’s family, and I think the story had great potential. I just don’t think it was executed as well as it could have been. I know Emily is a first time author, so I am guessing she is self published. I think with a little helpful criticism her next books in the series could be better. This book had a great synopsis, It’s just that it felt empty. I didn’t feel a connection to the characters or their relationship. I hate to do this but I have to give this book 2.5 Stars...

Before I begin, this review is dedicated to an awesomely talented author who I have had the pleasure to talk with and befriend - the genius that is Emily McKee

Brilliant. Utterly brilliant

Honestly people, what's all the fuss?

description

So this book bears some resemblance with A Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire (love that book)! but that doesn't mean it isn't totally unique and individual.

I loved the characters, they were so sweet :)

Isabelle

What a cutie pie! She was such a sweetie and I found I could really relate and warm to her. If you've seen my other reviews you'll know that I abhor terrible heroines. I hate hate HATE THEM. But Isabelle made the best out of a tough situation and boy was she a lucky one. Maddox was just....[enter swoon/drool/sigh/weak-knees or any other reaction to sheer hotness personified ]

Aww, I just wanted to give her a big hug :)

She was so tough and had gone through enough before she even met Maddox and I was glad she found that.

description

Maddox

Well hi there Maddox...

description

What a hottie! And when he finally fell for "the one", wow did he fall hard!! I am a sucker for heroes who are all hard on the outside but soft on the inside. Well Maddox fit that description to a T. He was willing to do anything for his girl. And he was so sweet and dedicited and combustible. THAT MAN WAS COMBUSTIBLE.

Let me just reiterate for anyone out there having doubts about this amazing book.

"It's a copy of A Beautiful Disaster"

“We aren't able to click backspace or delete. That's the beauty of real life; good or bad we live in the moment.”
― Emily McKee, A Beautiful Idea

This book is easy and light to read. If you want to just fall in love and to prove that you are worth it. Well, this book is for you!

My favorite part in this book is their wedding, I cried because their vows are truthful. And their wedding is unique!hahaha...

And her's the Wedding vow of Isabelle;

“Maddox. I have grown up my entire life being put down. Hearing that I'm not good enough and that I'm nothing. After twenty years of hearing those words you start to believe them. That all changed the day I met you. I never thought I would be the lucky girl who you would fall in love with. I never even believed that this type of love would happen for me. Or that it even existed. The bonus is that it's with you.
You have shown me that I am worth it, that it's okay to just be me. And for that I can't thank you enough. You have opened my heart and my mind to new possibilities and I will spend the rest of my life being eternally grateful to you. It has taken us a while to get to where we are today, but I wouldn't change anything because it's our story; our beautiful story. And it all started with an idea; a beautiful idea. I love you Maddox Mitchell.”

Iz is finally leaving the home with her mother and going to college. When she gets there she doesn't expect to make real friends, and she really doesn't expect to literally run into Ryder, a guy who wouldn't normally take a second glance at her, but someone these two hit it off and become friends.

Iz is really blind when it comes to how Ryder sees her, and he's not sure at all how to go about what he's feeling other than changing his ways, and showing her.

As their friendship continues, things get even more complicated between them, but they continue to stay strong even with things messing with them.

This book was actually a huge surprise. I enjoyed the hero and heroine a whole heck of a lot.
I really loved how the heroine handled her situation, and the issues with Ryder. I also loved how they became so close first before they ever tried for more. It was really a beautiful romance.

I also enjoyed the plot line a whole lot too. It was very interesting, and made the book very good!

Overall, I thought this one was very good, but my favorite was the romance between the hero and heroine!

Maddox Mitchell and Isabelle Clark are the happily ever after that everyone wants to read about.

Their love story is amazing. Iz has been abused verbally by a dead beat junkie mother for her entire life. Maddox grew up in a loving, supportive home. He is a player on and off the baseball field.

When Iz finds out that her scholarship and financial aid aren't enough to cover her room and board, Maddox (who literally RAN into her) offers her a room in his apartment.

Iz and Maddox slowing fall in love and the sexual tension is there. It plays out naturally. I really loved the character development and how incredibly sweet Maddox was to her.

Totally recommend this book!!!!

I liked it, loved the end HEA. The hero does cry a lot. The h cries but I think he cries more lol. I love that there is no cheating or OW/OM crap. Epilogue 2 years later. Great. They broke up for so long for something stupid. I mean he just let her go and she walked away without hearing him. So crazy. I took off for that. Plus he said things sometimes that were so backwards and she took them literally and got hurt. He just didn't know how to formulate sentences that consisted of his actual thoughts apparently. He loved her though, totally faithful and committed. Good story.

Unwanted child with big dreams heads off to university and meets popular and exciting bad boy. She needs housing and he gets a beautiful idea.

While formulaic to many I've read in the New Adult genre, I found myself liking and cheering on this pair as they learned to adult and figured out what they are to each other. The usual big break up happens, but it doesn't go on forever. There is a fairytale quality to things and they do get mushy between all the heat and horny. But, for a change up, it was a moderately engaging read.

I would not mind catching other stories in the series.

I felt cheated reading this book.
It is, on surface, a pretty good story.
Unfortunately, the way it was written was pretty much amateur.
Every thought, every conversation, every emotions are a little unreal.
You know a book is bad when in my head, the scene playing is too obviously scripted.

There was no big reveal, it was flat all the way through.
And seriously the big fight, was really really stupid.

I would be a little wary in future to read any of Ms. McKee's work.

What a horrible idea I had when I thought this book was going to be good. It could have been better if the author had taken her time to develop the leads but instead it was thrown together and rushed. I am tired of reading parts of books that I absolutely loved in someone else's words
I have a beautiful idea - be original!!!

I like the concept but the book needs major editing to make sure characters are developed properly and the story flows smoothly. I felt in alot of areas of the book that elements were added out of the blue and other elements did not come together well. Maybe consider finding a better editor to revise this book and help you continue the series.

Regardless of the comparisons, other readers formulated, to my favorite book "beautiful disaster"... I liked this book. Did I want to strangle Isabelle a lot of the time and make these two sit down and layout their feelings...YES. But I enjoyed it enough to seek out others in the series.

I also read the new version where the male name is Ryder.
