This book is great for kids who are beginners on webkinz. It is a little outdated though because some games are Deluxe- you have to pay $2 a month to be deluxe. But it covers the basics of webkinz: Adopting your pet (if you have never created an account), naming your pet (includes sites that you can look for name ideas), bathing your pet, taking care of your pet, dressing you pets, playing with your pet, prices webkinz sell for, ect. It also covers things you can do on webkinz. In the book there are little sections on every few pages of stuff Marcia Layton Turner's little boy, Grant, likes to do. Grant will tell you what he likes best about webkinz, his favorite games, ect.
Webkinz is a great site for kids ages 9-13+. (Ages 7 and 8 can play webkinz too, though it may be a little difficult to do a few things). Parents and kids can play webkinz. Ganz also has a webkinz jr. site which is made for younger children ages 2-6. (Note: Webkinz Jr's are different that regular webkinz plush toys. Webkinz Jr's are bigger.). When you get your webkinz you also receive a code. You can use this code to bring your webkinz to life online at www.webkinz.com. It is very easy and all you need to do if you don't have an account is to create one. First you must fill out a page of stuff like your child's information, birthday, country you live in, ect. (No phone numbers needed. Your child will receive an online gift on his/her webkinz account on his/her birthday.)
Your child will then create a unique username (Note: No one has the same username, and make sure your child likes his/her username for it cannot be changed in the future) and password. (Your password should be easy for your child to remember, or for you too remember. Your password does not have to be unique, it can be something very simple like the name of your pet, dad, mom, ect.)
Note: Make sure your child does not tell anyone the password, otherwise others can access your child's account. The best part about webkinz is its FREE!

Great for WebKinz newbies, but all it did for me was prove that my kids & I know entirely too much about WebKinz (& they're only allowed to play 20 minutes a day)!
