After his conversion to the Catholic faith, Trent Horn pursued an undergraduate degree in history from Arizona State University. He then earned a graduate degree in theology from Franciscan University of Steubenville and is currently pursuing a graduate degree in philosophy from Holy Apostles College.
Trent is a regular guest on the radio program Catholic Answers Live, a lecturer who speaks across the country on issues related to the Catholic faith, and the author of two books, Answering Atheism and Persuasive Pro-life.
Specific examples of liberal Catholicism and the harm it causes the Church are clearly laid out here for a number of hot button issues. This book would be helpful for all lay Catholics seeking to navigate much of the uncertainty caused by the current pontificate. More books for the laity, such as this one, are much needed and appreciated. I look forward to reading another book by Horn in the near future.
This was a very insightful book. Trent Horn is knowledgeable in his rebuttals to many arguments made by liberal Catholics are quite logical. He is also very charitable and is not seeking to give gotchas or look down on them but to merely address the dangers of their language and positions and show the harm it brings to the church. I really enjoyed this book!
Cerebral, yet digestible for the average Catholic layperson attempting to grow in faith. Horn provides plenty of foot notes and as always does an excellent job at citing his sources with plenty of background information and knowledge that blends in nicely throughout the book. The challenge is will you shape the Church or will you allow the Church to shape you?
