A socialite and a cautious introvert try to make a love connection, but their differences might be more than they can overcome.
Kinisha Jordan has always been a socialite, treating society like her personal revolving door. She doesn’t dwell on people that have no place in her life. She simply moves on, trying her best not to let it affect her. However, seeing her friends find happiness and love is starting to weigh on her. Lonely nights are beginning to take a toll on her, and she finds herself in an undesirable predicament. Things spiral out of control, and she starts to regret her past choices, wondering if she has been too free with her time.
Oliver Andrews has played it safe in life, refusing to take chances in any aspect of it. He learned to watch the experiences of others before deciding to live carelessly. He waits patiently for the attention of one woman. Playing the field has never been a part of who he is, and he refuses to reduce his standards simply because he’s lonely. When a situation arises, despite his morals, he decides to step in and save the day.
Kinisha needs help, and it ends up coming from the least likely source. Oliver has offered her a way out, but she doesn’t know if she can agree to his terms. While the attraction is there, the statutes put in place might be too much for her to abide by. Will Oliver ease the stipulations he’s put in place to obtain Kinisha’s heart, or will Kinisha change who she is to satisfy Oliver’s demands?
Starting with poetry, writing has always been a constant in Monica's life. The interest began in her teenage years, being in love for the first time. Her love for writing has only progressed. Song lyrics and poetry led to short stories, then one day in her down time, a short story became a 56k word novel. It has been non-stop since then. Being a wife and mother, has only added to the joys of Monica's life. Attaining a BS in Sociology, helping her better understand people and their behaviors, has only helped her become a better writer, understanding characters and their complex personalities. Romance of all types has been her passion, and she plans to continue honing her skills in that genre.
This book has everything from love, hoeing, church mess, and drama. Once I started reading I couldn’t put it down. Oliver was swooned worthy the whole book, while he originally came off as a square Oliver was far from that sterotype. I wanted to shake Kinisha at the beginning of the book but she eventually got it together. As far as Jarod throw the whole human away oh and take Robert with him. Monica Walter’s does like she always does wrote a spectacular story.
When You Make Decisions That Can Change Your Whole World Upside Down!
Monica another great read. When I tell you I wanted to get in these pages with Kinisha, so many of us have made decisions that end up costing more than we ever want to pay. Jarod, is a piece of work he really was an entitled individual. Watching Kinisha work through all her issues was looking in a mirror with some of her issues. When I tell you Oliver is the best! He was so strong on his square. He knew who he was and he knew what he wanted in his life. It was just good seeing him take the time but never losing himself to love someone else.🤗 🤗 🤗🤗🤗
This was such a good story. Oliver was a dream come true. This man was so loving and dedicated to Kinisha and I loved to see it. Kinisha got on my nerves at times in the beginning with letting lust lead her with Jarod before even really giving Oliver a chance but that was what makes this story so much like real life. Not every relationship will start with both parties liking each other equally and sometimes one has to catch up and that was the case with Kinisha and Oliver. I loved that Oliver showed her and told her his feelings for her from the start and didn’t want her to ever question how he felt about her and his intentions for her and them. Their start was pretty unconventional but it worked and it allowed for Kinisha to really see the kind of man that Oliver was. I would definitely recommend this book.
Thanks to NetGalley and Kensington for this read. This was really good. Before starting this book, the author had notes saying that you could read Stuck in You to get more detail but it was not necessary. To me, this was the author saying go read that book!! Haha. I enjoyed it and it did get me ready for this book. Stuck in you was the first read I read from Monica Walter and then You Make Me Feel was second but this will not be my last. The authors’ writing is very smooth and easy to read and I enjoy her writing style. I do not want to give anything away but if you have or have not read books from Monica Walters you will enjoy it.
You can't go wrong with one of Monica's reads! They will take you places emotionally. Monica has a way with words. I am always in awe of her writing. Ollie, super-geek is a freak!! One in a million guy, who is willing to raise and love another man's child. Hats off to this champ! Kinisha's wild ways caught up with her, and God gave a nice gift to settle her. Jarod....ugh....typical wasteman! Yeah man, God nah sleep....Jamaican saying.....he got what he deserved. Wouldn't mind if he was made unalive, Mo! The cameos by the Taylors, the Sheffields and the Jamieson sisters made me smile while reading. Get your read on, you won't be disappointed. Blessings, Mo!
I think this is such a great read. It touched on some serious topics and sometimes we need to think before living in the moment. If Kinisha just took time to get to know Jarod or waited to go out, she could have avoided the headaches. She had issues with believing she was worthy. Oliver is the best. When Watchful Eyes was brought up, I thought Oliver was going to the other side. I would love to see his computer skills working with them. I am glad that Mya's mental illness has a resolution, but a lot do not, and people shy away from speaking on it, causing a suffer in silence to happen.
I didn’t finish this book it was too much going on. I usually like MFC but Kinisha made this book unbearable to read. She slept with Jarod after being told not to and get up getting pregnant. At first she didn’t want anything to do with Oliver but as soon as she told him her promise about her being scared about what her family might say now that she’s pregnant and he said that he will be able to help raise the baby as he is, then she was all for him. I also didn’t like the fact that they were having sex and he was releasing into her while she was pregnant with someone else’s child. I skipped more than half of this book
Oohhh this book was so good filled with so much drama, I just couldn’t put it down. Oliver, Oliver, Oliver, definitely a real man, willing to step up to the plate even though that wasn’t his child. Truly says a lot about him and his upbringing.. Jarod, I couldn’t stand his ass from the beginning. I just knew he was going to be something else, but in true narcissist fashion he couldn’t have her so he didn’t want anyone to have her. I’m so glad Kineshia got her happy ending, although it wasn’t the traditional route, but what is these days. So much drama, the only thing I could have done without was the sex scenes, so many of them lol.
Talk about being in the right place at the right time.
Kinisha knew she was messing with trouble with Fboy. But nooo, she had to sample fools gold. Oliver knew what he wanted and devised a plan. I love how Oliver was willing to be a real man with his employee. Nisha was quick tempered and did not play about her friends or man. FBoy messed with wrong one and should have left Kinisha alone. But nooo, he had to poke the bear. As many times he got knocked out, you would think they'd learn. Oliver and Kinisha was a great couple who grew into a wonderful love story.
Once again, another fabulous book. I remember Kiniska as a free spirit who didn't allow her parents to stop her flow. Oliver, to me, is a well-rounded man. He checks all the boxes. Oliver claimed her and worked to show Kiniska that he is definitely the better man. I love Oliver and Kiniska's story. It was nice to see the growth in her parents as well. As always, it's an absolute pleasure reading your books 🥰.
I struggled with this rating. I wanted to go higher because the book was well written. What didn't do it for me was Kinisha She had more interest in Jarrod whom she said was a f*ckboy never took her anywhere but she couldn't get into Oliver? Make it make sense! She didn’t act 24 but younger and Oliver was made to seem thirsty in the beginning. She made him work too hard for her love that Kinisha freely gave to Jarrod.
I love Oliver and how he didn’t back down from getting and persuading the one he loved. For him to take on the responsibility of raising another man’s child, without even being in a relationship with the mother, showed just how much of a man he is. I’m glad that Kinisha came around to her good thing & accepted the love he desired to give her. That Jarrod was something wise but got EVERYTHING he deserved!! Amazing read!!!
I love me some Oliver!!!…He was definitely the definition of a man on a mission and he accomplished it!!!… He was the man needed for Kinishia to get her life together!!!.. His character started out nerdy by the description, but his layers started to show and I loved the description that came with it!!!… Jarod was a great big picture of misery and I’m glad he signed his rights over and let Karma continue to finish him off!!!…He was a very irritating man for real!!!…
I loved all of this, where can I get an Oliver Andrews. Oliver was a total Alpha. Loved how he loved Kinisha in all of her mess💕💕. Loved that he give Mya A second chance with his company after learning about her mental illness. Now Jarod I was hoping he would turn up missing 😂😂, for all the stuff he put Kinisha through. Sex scenes were 🔥 and 🌶. Kudos to the author👏🏾👏🏾
Oliver was such a man, honey! He knew exactly what he wanted and he wanted Kinisha. He was passionate, loving and had plenty if BDE!!!! Kinisha's growth in terms if trusting a man and allowing herself the opportunity to be loved was beautiful to read. They had a wonderful story. Loved them!!!!
This was such an excellent book. My feelings were all over the place. Oliver was persistent and knew what he wanted. Sometimes we as women confuse sex with wanting love. Kinisha was truly confused with the feel good moments of sex. I like the fact you incorporate characters from other stories.
I loved this story. The fact that she used church people to show how some people are in the church but aren’t right was done admirably. I wish we could have seen her be a little more petty and turn evidence over to the pastor, or to the job of the things that he had done. And really shamed him. Lol.
Baby, Oliver is my man! Talk about a book boyfriend lol. What a crazy story! But the characters and the situations feel so real. I’ve 100% encountered people in real life in these exact same situations. And the church drama! I love how from the beginning the church (with all its messiness) is incorporated as a background character. Ms. Monica Walters, we don’t deserve this gift you’ve given us.
Not a believable story at all lol. The author put that note in the beginning and then reminded ppl to read it at the end for a reason. I struggled to finish this book. There was little to no excitement or twists. I will give this author another try and read another book before I write her off completely.
I love this story. I am glad Oliver got his woman regardless of the situation at hand. We know the Lord always knows better when it comes to matters of the heart; we have to have faith. Great story, and I saw the link back to Henderson's family.
Whewwwwww Oliver is girls dream guy!!! He knew what he wanted and built the courage to go after it. I loved how he loved Kinisha!! Ion wanna give too much away but Kinisha had to grow up quick and learned some valuable lessons along the way…
As always, I loved the writing, the characters, and the chemistry. Oliver and Kinisha were a match made in heaven. What started out as a fake became very much real.
The was a last belt and so sweet book. Oliver knew what he wanted and went after her. It took Kinisha a minute to recognize her true love , but in the end she got it for together. It was a wild ride with Jarod, but he learned his lesson.
Love the story of Oliver and Kanisha. Oliver was an man on an mission to get his secret crush. Also both of them had an friend group to rally around d them and give advice.
I absolutely loved this book. I read it in a couple of hours. I loved how Oliver provided provision, protection, and priority for Kinisha. Their love was real
Oliver is the kind of man every woman should desire to have. He’s respectful, intelligent and he don’t play. He knew wanted Kinisha from the very beginning but Kinisha wanted no parts until she did. Oliver stepped up and took care of business when it came to her and I love that for her because Jared was a jack@$$ for real. I really wanted him to be unalived for real! Really good read!
Kinisha made me mad in this book at first but she grew redeemed herself. Her being hot in the panties led to an unplanned pregnancy by the biggest man whore in her church. Oliver also attends this church and has been feeling Kinisha for a while but never acted on it. Once he gets a IT contract her job that changes and he pursues her. She isn't really interested but he grows on her due to his persistence. Once her pregnancy is revealed and the circumstances around it Oliver steps in to save the day. Their love story was beautiful and had quite a few bumps along the way but they ended up with their HEA. Overall a good read with appearances from other characters from the Monica Walters universe.
