Outing the Bible: Queer Folks, God, Jesus, and the Christian Scriptures

Rate this book
Rev. Dr. Nancy Wilson, Moderator of the Metropolitan Community Churches, explores the Bible's complex and often-misunderstood messages on homosexuality and diversity. Wilson explores eunuchs, same-sex relationships, sodomy, sexuality and healing, and other queer issues in scripture. She takes on the infamous "clobber texts" and places them in correct contexts.

She moves from the "traditional," expected defense to the offense in treating the subject of homosexuality in scripture, which has evolved to "Outing the Bible."

In this volume, Wilson identifies a lost tribe of gays, lesbians, trans, and queer people who have struggled over millennia to maintain their ties to God despite a hostile Church. The Church she envisions has room for us all.

This book is a companion to "Outing the Church," also by Rev. Wilson.
