The author, when not writing, dreams of having a chicken sanctuary, a sloth as a walking partner, and a refrigerator full of cheesecake. She loves polka dots, mixing cocktails, and mysteries – from Sherlock Holmes to the quirkiness of quantum stuff. She has published three books and is feverishly at work on a few screenplays as well as a horror book that takes place in the Arctic, when not writing short stories. She comes from a land that is occasionally full of fire, floods, rumbling earth, famous people, and with a tendency to riot – California. The author has a blog, The 200 Word Short Story that has been running since 2017. We've cracked 500,000 views.

She has published several books and short stories. All are available on Amazon.

I don't want to be overly critical of this short story. I didn't hate it, but I certainly didn't love it either. It was just okay for me. I will admit that I downloaded it solely based on the fact that it was set in Los Alamos during the testing of the atomic bomb. I am on a Los Alamos reading binge right now, so I picked this up only for that reason.

The story is very short, yet I felt it was overly descriptively wordy. It felt like a creative writing assignment for school, more than and actual story itself. I also will admit I didn't understand the purpose of the story. For me it was basically a version of Alice In Wonderland, set on a bus returning from Los Alamos. Why the Los Alamos setting? Was that just to give some plausibility to the time-travel theory? Was it really time travel? Or as in Alice In Wonderland, was this all just a dream?

Anyway, it was not what I was expecting, but there is probably an audience that would enjoy this, and it might be a good example of this author's writing style, and it is available for free download for those who are interested in checking it out.
