WOW words can't describe how much I LOVE THIS BOOK!!! Lila Rose has yet blown my mind away with her fantastic writing and this book is by far the best one yet.

I love how each character is from different walks of life. You have your gothic girl, popular jock, book work/nerd and bad boy!!! I fell in love with each character and not one of them pissed me off. I have not read a book in so long that no character got on my nerves. I loved this book from beginning to end.

I love how Lila wrote the story and how all four characters came together. I have never read a book like that before and I just loved it. Very different from other authors.

Each character are very different but have certain things in common or lack of that they wish they had in either friends or family. I felt apart of me in each character and something I took away with me from reading SA. Everybody should experience something from high school from reading this book.

In the end never judge a book by it's cover, treat everyone as equal, love the person for who they are and you can't help who your are heart falls for!!!

WELL DONE LILA!!!

I will start by saying I LOVE everything I have read by Lila Rose. She has a way of sucking me into a story that is amazing. She is also great at writing multiple POV books. This can be a challenge and she does it well. The voice of the character is obvious, you don't have to go back to the beginning of the chapter and ask yourself who is talking now. I loved tough Sky, who is as a hard nut to crack. Love the barriers that are broken down in her story. I also love the dorky always apologizing Alex. She is just so... As I read I kind of got pissed off when the story up and stopped and started a whole new one. Then I found out why, Lila, only you can link a story together this way. I loved it! It is a story of young love, social and economic barriers. It is also a story of never giving up. Thanks again Lila. Please write me another story soon.

I was gifted this book from the Author for an honest review.
I gave this book 5 stars.

I love Lila Rose and the books that she writes, I was so excited to read this. I haven't read a YA book in so long and I'm so glad I took the chance with this one.

This story is told in three parts. First Skylar and Kane. And then Alexandra and Tristan. The third part is them coming together.
The blurb doesn't give too much away and that is awesome! You get to learn about these four characters all on your own. And I loved them. They all came from different ends of the track and it seems everyone judged them before they knew them.
I think that's what the book is about the most. DO NOT judge a book by its cover. You don't know what is underneath. One of my favorite things in this book is how Skylar call her mom Momma! The book is real and very easy to relate to. Thank you Lila for a great book! I cannot wait to read what you have coming out next! I am a fan for life!

I have been so fortunate over the years to read fabulous five star reads. I deliberately try to select books I will genuinely love. This book, Senseless Attraction, like only a handful of others over the past six months, could quite simply make me gush. I could easily go on about the fabulous ease of the read, the dynamic characters, the intense relationships and the truly beautiful, heart felt love I sensed pouring off these pages. But it’s simpler to say – I LOVE this book!

Immediately after reading, I felt all warm and glowy. My heart was pounding heavily and I wanted to shout out how amazing Senseless Attraction was.

This is one of the best YA reads I’ve read. Ever. Okay, a bit gushy, but I feel all lovey whenever I think about the story and need to go and kiss my husband. It's a story that touched my heart and reminded me of first love and all of the angst, fear and excitement that goes with it. Be sure to give this fabulous book a chance.

This is an engaging story of what happens when opposites attract…times two.

I loved Sky and Alex’s characters. Well-written and not crazy angsty as many teen characters are portrayed. Of course both have some insecurities-but what teen girl doesn’t?

Sky and her mom’s relationship is phenomenal. The banter was realistic. While mom hates the makeup choices she is so supportive of Sky-good mom!!

Both girls have a close circle of friends.

Now on to the boys! Two completely different fellas-Kane is unattainable rich guy and Tristan is the bad boy. But each of them have a serious weakness-their girls. The way both of them stand up and support the girls is fantastic. The cafeteria scene with Tristan and Alex-swooooooon!

I would have preferred two separate books-I believe the stories would have both stood well on their own. Yet the conclusion to their stories worked well, an overall fun and touching look at first loves and being true to yourself.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a sweet love story. A book that shows that you shouldn't judge a person before you get to know them. I really liked how it was done in three parts and the stories were separate and it came all together in the end. Its a fun, easy read with its swoony parts. All the characters are all completely different and i liked how Lila included all the typical high school characters, from the social outcast (goth girl), geek girl, jock guy and bad boy. Get ready for a book where opposites attract.

YA, opposites attract, three parts…two points of view, Skylar and Alexandra.
Two male characters-Kane is the unattainable privileged rich, jock boy and Tristan is the bad boy.

Skylar is partnered to work with Kane. According to Sky she's a goth girl from the wrong end of town, Kane’s allegedly a rich snob. In reality he’s a sweet young man on the cusp of manhood living a privileged life with absent parents. They’re partnered into working on a history project which means they work outside of class…he has a girlfriend (Donna), they’re together for the majority of the story and there is kissing.

An unlikely friendship evolves between Kane and Skylar amidst social insecurities and seeds for a relationship are planted. Sky’s friendship with Kane’s 5 year-old sister Dommy was endearing especially as their parents were never around; instead, they bought love and affection with material objects.

Skylar didn’t take herself seriously speaking to the housekeeper and vowing essentially to not to steal the family silver at their first meeting.

We’ve got the popular crowd and the goth misfits - fighting city hall.

Told in Skylar’s point of view…at the end of part one, Skylar is at Kane’s parents, a party, his mother instigates a situation summoning Donna with the promise of allowing them to sleep together. At which time, Skylar is contacted by her mum’s best friend Barbara, that her mum’s been shot.

➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖

Alexandra is assigned to tutor Tristan, a difficult young man to define. Skylar and Alexandra, so different yet eerily similar in many ways. Each has justified feelings of self-doubt. Alexandra’s friend Sarah arrived at school one Monday and informed her that she had kissed Tristan—at first she felt anxiety because they are mean and…bullies. One afternoon, her Maths teacher asked her to tutor Tristan. Unable to refuse, she's clever at maths and he needs a tutor, yet his friends can't know.

Similarly at the end of part two, Alexandra is at a party and she receives a telephone call about her father having been involved in an altercation.

➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖

Alexandra’s father was at the supermarket when a man came in to rob it. When he didn’t get the money, he went to shoot the cashier (Skylar’s mum), Alexandra’s dad jumped in front of her, they were both shot.

“Is he okay? Is he here?”
“As far as I know, he is. His daughter is in with him now. That’s her guy over there, I think; well, he came in with her.”
She sees Tristan and Alexandra. Moving quickly towards them as she moved to me.
I came to a stop in front of her, my head tilted to the side and I stared at her, just like she was at me. “It was your dad who tried to save my Momma?”
I held out my hand. “I’m Skylar.”
She smiled and said, “I’m Alexandra.”
The girls develop a friendship, both reeling from their parents happenstance.

Tristan to Alexandra
“Listen, ah, nothing’s changed between us, so don’t get any ideas we’re together now or anything.” He laughed.
“I know…I mean…I won’t.”
“Good. ‘Cause you aren’t exactly my type; I’d never go for someone like you.”
“I get it, Tristan. Boy, do I get it. You don’t need to be an a** about it.”
“See, I do, because that’s what I am. We’re done with the tutoring crap. I’ll work it out from here. I don’t need your help”.
“Thank you, Tristan, for telling me how it is. But do you know what? You really didn’t need to. I already knew and especially for doing it today, after the night I just had. I still want to thank you for…last night. Now, I’m going for a shower. I expect you’ll be gone before I get out. You’re right, Tristan…what the hell were you thinking?”

Both sets of parents are funny, witty and love their girls. They go on a date after recovering.

〰️ There are unresolved storylines—why did Tristan arrive at Alexandra’s house bruised? Why was he bruised?
〰️ Do their parents become a couple?

There is no sexual content.

The story was told in three parts, parts 1 and 2 are 2 individual stories whilst part 3 is a continuation and conclusion of the storyline from Parts 1 & 2.
A story of young love, social misfits and economic constraints.

Skylar and Kane were my favourite. The second part with Tristan and Alex, he was not ideal boyfriend material by my standards, he locked lips with many a girl and was utterly fickle. Two stories intersected and then merged into the conclusion.

In part two, we meet Alexandra who’s charged with tutoring Tristan. Tristan seemed either oblivious or pretended nonchalance to Alex, not even knowing her name. This was never explored.

Told in dual points of view, Skylar and Alexandra’s. First part is all about Skylar and Kane. The second part is Alexandra and Tristan, and the third intersects the two couples.

Skylar is sarcastic, witty and forthright. Not shy in uttering her mind, Kane realises this when she expresses her negative feelings regarding his girlfriend, Donna. Skylar's friends are supportive.

As sarcastic and crazy as Skylar is, Alex is constantly apologetic. As Alex starts to develop feelings for Tristan, so does her friend Sarah. Alex always puts others ahead of herself.

The third part is where the two girls meet and Sky and Alex become close friends. The former tries her best to push Kane away, as the latter gets rejected by Tristan.

Kane’s father and mother are no longer together.

As they’re in high school…there is a HFN.

I Beta read this book. It was great. Truly. Lila has a way with words and creating a mood. I wish I had that life in High school. As one that used to be bullied, I think we all wished our high school "career" would have ended up that way. Very well done, Lila. You hit it out of the park again. <3

Aw! I love a good YA and it's been a while since I read one. And I'm so happy I came across this one! This one is told in dual POVs: Skylar and Alexandra. First part is all about Skylar and Kane. The second part is with Alexandra and Tristan, while in the third part, these characters have a meet-and-greet.

The rich guy and the Goth girl

These two. I swear, they are perfect together! Skylar is sarcastic and funny and she's not afraid to speak her mind. She's blunt and honest to a fault. Kane finds this out when she expresses her feelings regarding his girlfriend.
Skylar's friends are crazy but supportive of her and her ways - even though Jessie constantly questions why she's friends with them. Besides her being funny and sarcastic and blunt, she's also stubborn and she judges Kane by his life style; his friends and even his family. It all starts with a simple History assignment and them becoming History partners for the story to unfurl. Kane is really nothing like the typical rich kid, thank God! He's sweet and polite and of course that he's hot, to boot. Oh and whatever he wants? He takes. Much to Sky's horror, so to say.

The geek girl and the bad boy

As sarcastic and crazy as Skylar is, Alex is the total opposite. She's way too polite for her own good and she never talks back to anyone, she never stands up for herself. Namely, when she's being bullied by Tristan and his friends. But all that starts to change when she's asked to tutor Tristan in Maths. It's weird at the beginning but Tristan surprised me in a pleasant way. I admit, I didn't know what to think of him. He was a bad boy, a player and a bully. But I really wanted to know what his redeeming qualities were so I gave him a chance. Didn't regret it.
But it's a little bit more complicated because, while little Alex starts to develop feelings for him, so does her best friend. And Alex is not egotistical and she always puts others above herself.

The third part is where they meet and Sky and Alex become closer and closer. The former tries her best to push Kane away, while the latter wants Tristan close but he's pretty much a no-show.

But it all works out fine and it's a big HEA at the end of it. This story may be shorter but it's sweet and funny and it does have certain morals one can learn from, by the end of it. I loved how these different people, characters constructed pretty well, got together and simply clicked. It didn't matter that one was poor, while the other was rich; or that one was quiet, while the other was wild. They found a common ground and decided to stay on it.

I think you already figured out that I loved this book very much, hence why I believe it deserves five stars. I only hope to read more great stories from this author. She's definitely one I'll follow closely.

*An ARC of this Book Was Given To Me By The Author In Exchange For An Honest Review*

Hmmmmmm don't let the three stars fool you, this is a good book. I liked it, I just didn't really "feel" it although I am sure there are many readers out there who will feel differently.

For me the 2 different point of views, whilst written in an interesting way, didn't really work. I don't know if I needed maybe alternating chapters so that I could feel the 2 stories come together for me or what it was but something just didn't click. Maybe it needed to be longer? The ending especially felt a little rushed.

The characters were well written and showed a nice diverse cross section of high school life but sadly it was not enough for me. Overall it was a quick YA read which I expect many people will fall in love with .... I was just not one of them.

I'd like to give this a 3 1/2 stars only because I felt the story was confusing at first I didn't really understand what the hell was going on, once I really got into it though I became really interested in the outcome of it.

I find that it was a really great way that the 2 person POVs came about in the story. this is a 3 part story that was written really great. the ending was great as well I enjoyed the total outcome of it, the way it was written for both the main charts to have a happy ending.

As big as the world seems we are all connected in some way, shape, or form! Senseless Attraction reminds of this. This young adult novel is flawless! People from relatively different worlds unite. The connections are breath-taking and made me speechless. Life can change in the blink of an eye, and what is around the corner can change the course we are on.

Lila Rose wrote this novel in a way that the characters felt like they came directly out of my high school. She is an author I look forwarded to reading more of!

Senseless Attraction by Lila Rose and I gave it 4 stars
Senseless Attraction is a Lovely story, the four main characters struggle with relationships and family. These very likeable girls meet boys who would not usually be interested in them. I would like to share this one with my daughters. It was pleasant to read a story with love and kissing, and full of characters that are relatable. I enjoyed the two parts that came together in the third. Well written, great book Lila Rose x

***Not that many spoilers but......****

https://ladiikeiii.wordpress.com/2019...

But I want to point out that Tristian was way meaner well he was mean whereas Kane wasn’t mean at all. You could tell that Kane liked Skylar whereas Alexandria when it came to her Tristian.....Act like a prick; and mean but he realizes that he shouldn’t care what people’s thought of his relationship with Alexandria. You could tell that both he and Alex liked each other. & the same go for Kane; especially by how he took up for her at the movies and during the time at the fair with his ex-Donna and Skyler friends. I figure that Skylar ex-guy (I can’t even remember his name) was trash. I was glad that they found love in each other. & that Sky and Alex parents both found love in one other. I never knew that when Sky mom got shot that Alex dad was at the store and got shot too. They both were brave during that time. It also was interesting that they ended up in the same hospital room during there stay...

I can't really explain why, but I rather adored this book. I didn't much care for the shift in POV, and it took me a while to warm up to the 2nd girl when I felt like I was really just waiting for the two stories to overlap.... and then when they did overlap, it was almost like I was reading the same story twice, so that was kind of weird (and redundant). But still, I liked it. It was cute, for an innocent YA romance.

Opposites attract

Skylar and Kane - according to her she's a goth girl from the wrong end of town, he's a rich snob. Their high school history puts them together to work on a project which means they get together more than in class.

Alexandra and Tristan - the nerd and the popular bad boy. She's a whizz at math he needs a tutor. But his friends can't know

Angst already then tragedy strikes.

Even though this is a YA story and I'm way beyond I really enjoyed the book

Good Read

An odd layout of a book told in three parts – one opposites attracts couple, then the other opposites attracts couple, and lastly part three where their lives intersect through a life-changing event.
It’s a sweet YA romance that usually isn’t my bag, but one that I enjoyed nevertheless meaning I stayed up way too late to finish it.

A good book to check out a new-to-me author. 4-Stars 💛✦

Very disjointed, but otherwise a good story

The story started off good, then stopped halfway through. And another story started up,then stopped at the half way point. Then the two stories intermingled. It kinda left me confused and I forgot the first story by the time the second one stopped halfway through.

A very nice, sweet and easy read.

The characters are likable and realistic. The stoy goes past the stigma attached to each character to see the real person.

I enjoyed it.

After reading the blurb, I was thinking the stories lines sounded a little predictable but I was intrigued enough by how they might intersect to give it a go. I’m glad I did because what I found was two well written stories that kept you guessing as things seem to veer into a different direction just as you think you’ve got it all worked out.

First you have Skyla and Kane, a somewhat outcast goth and the popular jock. Sound familiar? Only to a degree I found. While the unlikely friendship grew between two over a history assignment, and seeds for a relationship were planted, girlfriends, ex-boyfriends and social insecurities meant Sky’s friendship with Kane’s 5 year-old sister looked to be the strongest relationship to come out of this pairing.

In part two, we meet geeky Alexandra who’s charged with tutoring bad-boy Tristan. Again, how many times have we heard this story? Not quite like this we haven’t! The emotions in this part kept ebbing and flowing so just when you think they’re making head way, something happens or something is said and they are back at square one. I also found myself theorising a lot at this stage as to how these two completely separate stories where going to come together.

My main criticism of this book was the pace of part three. There was a great deal of information that needed to be in the section what with bringing to the two storylines together while also tying them up individually, though I thought this fell a little short. It just seemed a little rushed and I wanted more. I would have liked to have seen the book be a little longer so we could nut out the stories a little more. Having said that, there are parts within this section that I really love, particularly a development with Alex and Tristan.

I haven’t read too many young adult novels within the romance genre, but this one was quite good and definitely gave me those little feeling in my stomach that come with attraction at that age.

Senseless Attraction by Lila Rose really pulled me in. This story starts with one set of high school friends and high school problems...then stops mid cliff hanger...and jumps right into an entirely different set of high school friends with high school problems...and another cliff hanger. Oh, thank heaven for the third section, that tied these two stories together so very perfectly. For YA, this is truly one of my favorite reads this year. Very well done. I talked about it the entire time that I was reading it.

Sky y Kane me resultaron perfectos.

Love it. It was cute, funny and touching. Really enjoy it.
There was just one tiny thing that bothers me. In book there was a short conversation in Spanish. The thing is, it wasn't well translated, at least 2 sentences. I'm not saying this to bother anyone, is just an observation. I really did love the book. I found that it teaches us to take a chance to know people better before making conclusion.

This novel is broken into 3 parts. When I finished Part 1 in tears I was so tempted to jump to Part 3 to continue Skylar’s story but I trusting in the magic of Lila Rose’s writing I knew that would ruin the story so I dove into Part 2. Part 1 and Part 2 are 2 individual stories while Part 3 continues the storyline from Part 1 & 2. A really great YA novel.
