The last thing Michaela Prentice expected was to end up in bed next to her friend Jordan Marsh after a wee bit too much champagne. The sex was incredible but she doesn't want their one night to ruin their friendship.

The last thing Jordan Marsh wants is to remain friends with Michaela. They’d crossed the line from friends to lovers and that was where he was going to stay, after all he’d been relentlessly plotting her seduction for months.

Now Michaela has woken up to a slight hangover, a relationship with a guy she thought she knew, a mother planning a wedding, and a brother and a best friend who think it’s important to run a background check on your new man. What could be more normal?

Just as Michaela is beginnings to adjust to the status of their new relationship things start exploding; literally.

Warning: This book is funny, steamy and contains sex scenes with chocolate that some readers might find delicious.

I can see the appeal of this book for a lot of people but it just wasn't for me. Too many overused erotic tropes thrown into one book. It starts out a year after Michaela and Jordan's fiancee/girlfriend are caught in bed together. Since then, these two have become very close friends and have been hanging out together a lot. Jordan wants more, Michaela is oblivious. One night, they both get a little tipsy and one thing leads to another...you get the idea.

So Jordan is "Relentless" about winning Michaela over and claiming her as his in the romantic sense. He has a big, huge secret that a year of friendship and many, many, MANY obvious clues aren't enough to give it away to Michaela. He's not even really that sneaky about it, so I wasn't convinced that this aspect was feasible.

The sex was pretty formulaic and lacked...ease...for lack of a better word. It just didn't feel real. It felt like a bunch of erotic novel's bits and pieces stuck together. The sensuality and passion just fell flat for me.

Editing...usually not a huge deal for me but it truly needed a heavy handed editor or at least some beta readers to pick through it.

I think had this story slowed down a bit, maybe if we could have gotten a more in depth look at the protagonists, I could have enjoyed it more. As it is, I just felt no connection...to the characters, the story, OR the sex.

Relentless provides us a story of new beginnings; two friends who are brought together, first in friendship, by cheating exes. It is fast paced, funny, and laced with a little bit of mystery. Jordan and Michaela find each other by way of sordid ex-lovers and become fast friends. I’m always intrigued by protagonists who work on building a friendship before they become lovers. It’s a love that proves to be strong and pure. This book takes the friendship and uproots it fairly quickly turning it into a fast relationship.

When we first meet Michaela and Jordan they are still friends, Jordan deems himself in the “friend zone” and we quickly learn he wants out of that zone. The easy relationship and banter between these two characters is funny and light hearted. They’re trust in each other and the easy going nature of their relationship seems real. However, once the sparks start flying the relationship feels a little forced and often a bit cheesy. Some of the dialogue between these two didn’t mesh well with me. The sex scenes in setting and time were great but some of dialogue between the two struck me as odd. Jordan controls the situation, which I love but Michaela always struggled relinquishing control and I’m not sure that was the author’s intent. Both characters are intelligent, witty, and charismatic though and it worked to engage me in their story without ever feeling a true connection to either of them.

The story is told is the third person POV, which doesn’t always grab me and it through me off at different points. I’m not sure if I was able to be in one of their heads if I’d have liked it better. Feeling thrown by the quickness in which their relationship progresses, Michaela fights the igniting passion while Jordan’s controlling boyfriend demeanor proves he’s been calculating this plan in his head for the year they have been friends.

Relentless is well written and fluid; the plot is good. There are a few surprises thrown in at first that we aren’t expecting as the reader. However, once the initial surprises are revealed the predictability of the mysterious events to come increases. The secondary characters of the Marsh brothers and Trixie, Michaela’s best friend, are especially intriguing. This is one of those books that I like to dub as a good “beach read”; it’s fast and fun but just didn’t wow me. I would recommend it for anyone looking for a fun love story and I’ll definitely be reading the next books about the other Marsh Brothers.

2.5 Stars.

Relentless is a book with potential, but unfortunately I didn't feel that it was realised on this occasion.

I love the friends to lovers theme, and although Jordan and Michaela were likeable enough I found their conversations and sexy-times a bit cold and stilted, and the storyline didn't really offer anything new, from books that I have already read from this genre either. Even Jordan's "Secret" that he withheld from Michaela throughout the whole of their friendship wasn't much of a "Secret" to me as a reader, and again was just a tad cliche and un-original.

Sadly, one of my big peeves was in this book as well and that is the overuse of the H/h names, once a conversation has started between the two of them I didn't really see the need to then constantly use "Jordan said" or "Michaela said" (anal I know, but my Kindle informs me that their names are used 683 and 656 times respectively which in a book of this length is HUGE).

All little things I know but when added together, took away my enjoyment from the book. I don't mind reading a book with a similar storyline to ones I have read previously as long as it is well written and I am able to engage and connect with the characters. Sadly Relentless didn't have that pull for me, that-said I believe with a few good Beta-readers and a kick-ass editor Anna could move on from average and into enjoyable on her future books. I would read another book by this author as I would like to see if the feedback that is being given is being put to good use.

Friends Michaela Prentice and Jordan Marsh have been there for one another when they most needed it. During that time Michaela has always enjoyed her friendship with Jordan, however Jordan has been head over heels in love with Michaela since the day he met her. When one night ends up with both of them in bed together, Jordan sees his opportunity but Michaela is weary about crossing from friends to lover.

Hilarious romantic story that is one of the best I have read all year. The morning after is a hoot and unexpected. Jordan is filed with swagger and he is determined to win Michaela's heart, she just has not caught up to him yet. There is so much more to the story and it is filled with with unexpected surprises and a band of supporting characters who keep you entertained throughout the story. High praises.

DNF @ 31%

I hate to DNF books, I really do, it goes against my compulsive behavior or finishing things, but I chose to put this aside for now. It could be the mood I was in, or the timing of when I read the book that I couldn't grasp any bit of it. The characters or the story line for me didn't grab me enough to want to continue. As a friend of mine once said, why force myself to finish when there are so many other books out there...

DNF : we're thrown right into the story with no build up, and it's seems like it's lacking a good bit of depth. I just don't have the patience or the interest to read any more. If it had been a short read, it may have worked better, but as it Is it just seems too long.

Sexy cover!!

Dual POV - like this.

Forced/formal dialogue.

Overused premise.

Predictable storyline.

This one is a DNF for me. Not all books are for everyone and while this book had great potential, it did not suck me in at all.

Michaela Prentice and Jordan Marsh began a friendship out of a strange connection. Michaela walked in to catch her finacee in bed with Jordan's girlfriend. After they each broke up with their significant other they fell into to a close friendship. For over a year they have been each other's best friend. Michaela would never deny how attractive she finds Jordan but he has never made a move on her and she would never want to do anything to ruin their friendship.

Jordan was thrilled to find out his girlfriend was cheating on him with Michaela's fiancee. He was able to get rid of both of them in one shot. You see once he met Michaela and hung around her he quickly realized his attraction to her. After the cheating incident he didn't want to be the rebound so he decided to buy his time as a friend until he could move them forward. A year later he has found himself friend zoned and isn't sure how to get out of it.

Jordan attends Michaela's office Chirstmas party with her and after both have had a little to drink, the opportunity presents itself. They end up having the best sex of either's life. Jordan is ready to move her in and start a family, Michaela isn't sure what she wants. She is still shocked to find out he has had feelings for her for so long. But soon things start happening to and around Michaela that put her life in danger. Jordan also has some secrets that she doesn't know and finding them out may be the end to a them.

This quick love story works since they have been friends for over a year so it doesn't seem like instant love. However, Jordan is a little pushy with his whole we slept together now lets move in and hey wouldn't it be great if you ended up pregnant. The twist in the story is the story involving Jordan's ex and his company.

This was a fun read and even offered up a few surprises.

Overall, I thought the story was good, It had several prime points that made it not like other books. Which I loved.

I like Michaela and Jor's relationship. I just which I could have seen more of it. Possibly in the beginning in snippets.

The sex was hot.

He was a great alpha male.

I liked that it eased into us learning that he was a billionaire and the secrecy behind. This lead to other secrets which made the story interesting and not just an instant love, kind of thing.

Jor is not like other billionaires, which was awesome. I love FSOG, Up in the air series, and the Cross series and as you know these books are about billionaires but it's insta-love and alpha power.

Michaela: I liked her resistances to the fast pass love. That was realistic.

Jordan: I liked how he saw their relationship (pass friendship) and in his rational they have been dating for like 6mos. It was cute. He is defiantly relentless. Loved it!

I was a little confused about one thing. I feel like I missed a story about Donovan and Alaina. I mean was there a stand-alone for them. The way the story is written during the dinner scene it is as if they had their own book.

I thought this was a series on the Marsh brothers. Well if Donovan doesn't have a book then their story sounds interesting.

~*~My Thoughts~*~
A 5 Star Rating
I loved this book!! Let me just start off by saying Michaela was a great character. At first i was questioning her cause when you've been through all that she has usually the authors tend to make the character so whiny i can't stand it or there huge on flip flopping around. Lucky for me this author didn't do that at all. She made Michaela an extremely likeable character who was funny as all get out. Now onto Jordan at first i was thinking he was to soft. I like my men alphas who take what they want, say what they want, and are generally sexy while doing so. After the first chapter he was definitely that kind of man. I love a protective/controlling man. Anyway the story line its self was very well written and kept me from wanting to put it down. All in all a great book and I can't wait to read the rest of this series and learn more about the other Marsh brothers!!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was a quick and easy read, but I just didn't connect with either Jordan or Michaela. I thought Jordan was a decent guy in the beginning, but my opinion quickly changed when his demeanor abruptly switched after the first time they got it in the night of her office Christmas party; he was all "I've wanted you forever, we're now a couple so deal with it." That just ain't cute or sexy.

The dialogue also felt forced and unnatural at times, it just seemed odd to me how some of the conversations between Jordan and his brother Ian went, like sometimes the conversation was stilted like they didn't know each other, not like brothers who've grown up together would talk with each other.

Overall not a bad book, but like I said I just didn't connect with the characters. I liked Ian and Trixie though, I hope we get to see them in a future story.

Received an ARC from NetGalley for review.

This is the first book I've read by Ms. Wells, but it won't be the last. This story was nicely paced and had great sexual chemistry. It was nice that the guy knew what he wanted from page one and didn't deviate from that. There was even a shooting bad guy thrown in that I wasn't expecting. I can't wait to read Trevor and Ian's HEA....which one will her BFF, Trixie, get....hhhhmmmmm

Days later...I just realized there a "prequel" with her brother Donovan. Man, now I have another book to add to my shelf. Can a Kindle break from the weight of all the unread books on it?

This was a fun, light read that was fast-paced and enjoyable. The characters were fun and the mystery/suspense added a nice back-drop to the romance.

So we have Jordan Marsh – he’s been “friend-zoned” by Michaela and he’s been plotting for the past year how to move out of that zone and into one with a bit more intimacy….a lot more intimacy if he has his way! And then we have Michaela, who turned to Jordan as a friend after finding her fiancé and Jordan’s girlfriend in bed together. She’s always thought Jordan was attractive, but was happy keeping him as a friend since he’s never really shown an interest in having anything more with her. Now add in a bunch of champagne and two people who have been fighting and, in Michaela’s case, denying the attraction between them, and you end up with one explosive night that definitely has Jordan moving out of the “friend-zone” – that is if he can convince Michaela of that! And finally, throw in several attempts on Michaela’s life, some corporate espionage, and some meddling family members, and you have one fun romance!

I totally loved Jordan. From his relentless pursuit of Michaela, to his not allowing Michaela to put him back in the “friend-zone” once they spend the night together, I just loved his dominant side (in and out of the bedroom!)

“Michaela, I swear to God, if you say we’re friends one more time I am going to paddle that gorgeous ass of yours. This wasn’t a one-night stand.”

Michaela frustrated me a bit, but once she finally came to terms with her new relationship status with Jordan I found myself really liking her. What I liked most was that once she committed to something (or someone), she was all in – there were several times where she could have let her insecurities create trouble, but she always thought through her actions and realized that she needed to trust and give the benefit of the doubt to find the truth…which was refreshing since it minimized the angst but also kept it real by showing her dealing with her initial reactions of anger/hurt first.

The mystery part of the story was good. Corporate espionage is always fun, and the couple of twists thrown in kept it interesting. And of course the threats on Michaela’s life help Jordan get her right where he wanted her…

I think one of my favorite things about this book was the supporting cast of characters. They added a lot of additional depth to the story and I can’t wait to read about the other Marsh brothers and Michaela’s friend Trixie. Michaela’s family was great – from her brother going into overprotective mode to her sister-in-law keeping him in his place. I think my favorite family member was Michaela’s mother – especially when she showed up at Michaela’s place to find Jordan and Michaela having breakfast after their night together…

Vivian checked her cell and rose from the table. “Oh, look at the time. I’m going to let you two get back to whatever it was you were doing.” She paused briefly before saying, “Do you have a cat Jordan?”

Jordan looked slightly confused. “No, why?”

Vivien smiled. “Well, those are some pretty impressive scratches on your chest. I just assumed you had some sort of run in with a cat.”

Michaela one again choked on her coffee at her mother’s comment.

Jordan grinned, completely un-phased by Vivien's remarks and looked down at his chest. “I can’t imagine how I got those.”

I can’t wait to see which of the Marsh brothers are up next in this series and am excited to find out that Michaela's brother has his own book that was released first – “Trust Me” – which tells his story…which, after meeting him and his wife in this book, should be a fun read!

I was given a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

TrishswirlIn all the months we've been running this blog, I've never given less than a 2 star review. Not because we have a policy against it (in fact, quite the opposite) but because I can usually find something redeeming in almost any book. Writing is hard work and I really respect what goes into it. There are blogs out there who seem to enjoy trashing authors. We are not one of them. Megan and I love authors and love books and really want to like most of both. Unfortunately, I finally have one that I just can't give more than a 1.5 star and live with myself. It was poorly written, poorly paced, the characters were barely likeable, and honestly, I do not think this thing went through spell check at all.

Overall Rating: 1.5 stars- I wasted HOW many hours reading this crap?
Michaela Prentice and Jordan Marsh's friendship began in the worst of circumstances after she discovered his girlfriend in bed with her fiancé. It had seemed only natural to spend time together as they got over their mutual breakups, but she soon realized Jordan wanted more than friendship.

Jordan Marsh knew the minute he met Michaela that he had to have her. Unfortunately she was already taken, but he wasn’t about to let her get away. When Jordan sets a goal he’s relentless until he gets what he wants, and what he wants is Michaela.

As they make the transition from friends to lovers, Jordan exposes a sensual side to his nature that Michaela didn't know existed and can't seem to resist. However, Michaela quickly learns that Jordan isn’t the friend or lover she thought she knew. His world is filled with secrets and she soon finds herself caught up in his deceptions. Is she facing another betrayal?

I'm not going to go on and on. I don't want to shred the author. I'll just keep it short and sweet. I knew by page 3, I wasn't going to like this one. Had it not been a NetGalley book that I owed feedback on, I wouldn't have continued. The pacing was too fast to feel anything. The premise is completely unbelievable. The mystery was convoluted and unbelievable. The smut was just okay. Honestly, it was the best part of the book, but not that great either. And the editing? Okay, our 2 star is "try spell check" but not only did this book not go through spell check, I don't think anyone even gave it a read-through. There are so many misused words, homonym abuse, quotation marks in the wrong place (which is exceptionally confusing!) that it is actually hard to make sense of the book in many places.

All I can reasonably say is skip this one. I wish I could have.

Smut Factor: 3 stars- Not Bad
Character likability: 2 stars: I wouldn’t kiss this character with someone else’s lips.
Storytelling: 1 star- There was a story?
Writing and editing quality: 1 star- pretty sure this author’s first language is not English.

Note from Sarah:
I would like to thank Heather for taking this book since I wasn't able to get it read in time due to dealing with the death of my best friend.

Heather's Review:

Relentless by Ana Wells is the first book by this author featuring the Marsh Brothers. Jordan Marsh, a billionaire CEO, has been friends with Michaela Donovan for about a year. They met through their respective partners at the time. Jordan was dating Joyce, a co-worker of Michaela’s. Michaela was engaged to Noah Jenkins, a professor at Harvard. The couples had double dated regularly. Jordan realizes quite quickly into their double dates that he is attracted to Michaela. He keeps seeing Joyce only because she is his way to also see Michaela. Michaela is clueless about Jordan’s attraction to her.

Apparently Joyce and Noah had also been getting along quite well and were caught by Michaela in a compromising situation. Needless to say Michaela breaks off the engagement and calls Jordan to tell him what she witnessed. Jordan sees this as a chance to cement his friendship with Michaela and to further his own ends of some point becoming more than a friend to her. About six months of being friends only Jordan seized his chance to change his circumstances when he escorts Michaela to her company Christmas party. Michaela has a little too much champagne and one thing leads to another with Jordan spending the night, but not much sleeping is going on. After Jordan and Michaela get together, an attempt is made on Michaela’s life, someone burns her house down, you find out that Jordan is working with the FBI to try and nab someone who is stealing secrets. All this happens in a matter of days. Jordan is relentless in his pursuit of Michaela, but for someone who has been burned by love before she gives in pretty easily. Jordan has had a year to decide, plot and scheme to become more than Michaela’s friend and Michaela gives in, in a matter of days to his persuasion.

This is the first book that I have read by this author. While I felt that the story was fairly well written, the plot could have used more development. At times it seemed rushed. All the events, except for the back story occur with a few days time frame. There is an element of suspense that could have been drawn out more. The characters seemed to be fairly well developed and interacted well with each other, but at times I felt they were not quite realistic. Jordan is a sweet, easy going fun loving guy, who as soon as they are intimate, turns in the ultimate demanding alpha male. Michaela, who has trust issues from previous relationships, forgives Jordan repeatedly for omissions (lies) and other things without very much fight at all. I find it hard to believe that Michaela has been friends with Jordan for a year does not know that he is a billionaire until her brother (an FBI agent) tells her this at a family dinner. I would have liked to have seen more realistic interaction between the characters.

I would definitely give this author another chance and read other books in this series by her. I would have to say in a star point system I would give it 3 and ½ stars. On a heat level about a 4.

Relentless, The Marsh Brothers, Anna Wells
Review from Jeannie Zelos Book reviews.
This is the second book, the first being about Michaela's brother, not a Marsh brother. I’ve not read that but the description to this sounded good, and they are both stand alone novels though connected via characters. I love those kind of series :)
We start after the breakup with the partners when Michaela and Jordan have been close friends for the year since the split. Jordan wants more but is going slow, and Michaela is very attracted to him but as he hasn't ever suggested anything other than friendship she thinks he's not interested. Then they go out to a works Xmas party, Michaela gets a bit tipsy, not drunk, just enough to lower inhibitions, and back at her home having a nightcap she leans in and brushes her lips against Jordans. That's all the leeway he needs, and they quickly end up in a hot and heavy, sensual and steamy sex session. Next morning she's worried he was just a bit intoxicated and will regret it, so she tries to pre-empt him with her standard brush off, saving herself the pain of rejection.....that doesn’t go down well. Before she knows it circumstances have happened that see their relationship moving forward at top speed. Poor Michaela – if ever there was a candidate for the “make haste slowly” she's it, but Jordan is a force unto himself, he doesn't let her think long enough to regret or back track. He's got to know her well over the last year, and now his plans are coming to fruition he's not letting anything stop them.
They're a great pair, Michaela has been let down so often I understand her caution, but Jordan is determined. Its what's worked for him so far in life and he isn't changing now. But there are secrets he can't tell Michaela, and once they're together she sees another side of him entirely...gone is her patient, cautious friend, and come in is this terrific but steamroller type person, and she seems to be wherever he wants her before she can even think about it. He's a lovely man and knows her very well, he only wants the best for both of them but the secrets could derail that, and add in some attacks to Michaela by someone unknown and there's potential for huge problems.
I really enjoyed this book, loved Michaela and her family, and of course Jordan and his. I loved the deadpan humour that crept in, such as when Michaela's mum calls round and finds them at breakfast. Michaela is trying to say they're just friends, but Jordan and her mum have a conversation about her over her head. “Stop talking about me, I’m right here” she says, but they both know her too well and know what she's like once the thinking sets in.
Its was a fun read, some steamy and sensual sex scenes that fitted the plot perfectly, and I like that the danger and endings were wrapped up. I hate unfinished business at the end of a novel. I don't have price info but its 282 pages, so enough to get a real story going with lots of emotion and drama.
Stars:four – great read and I hope to see more from the Marsh brothers.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this book, at had the right amount of heat, spark and drams to keep me guessing right to very end.

Michaela Prentice and Jordan Marsh have been best friends for a year after she caught her ex- fiancé in bed with her best friend and Jordan's girlfriend, Joyce. As the relationship fell apart it was Jordan that kept Michaela together. He was her wingman, they went to dinner together, watched movies all the things friends do. The only problem she has feeling for Jordan but is pretty sure they are one way. Jordan has longed for Michaela since she was engaged and when it all fell apart he thought he had an easy in with her, but as with her he thought she just thought they were "just friends". So when Michaela has her Christmas Party and Jordan attends with her, they drink to much champagne, share many a little touch and dances, they end up back at her place making out like horny teenagers.

Along with the hot night they spend together, comes to awkward morning after... Michaela is 1st to do the whole denial thing saying they should just stay friends, but it is Jordan who makes the biggest noise. He refuses to let Michaela go again and pushes her to start a real relationship with him. He is relentless in his pursuing of her, he has waited a long time for this and is not giving up in a hurry.
Michaela gives into her feelings and they begin a very hot real life relationship pushed very quickly along by Jordan.

Although Michaela has known Jordan for a long time, it is her that is more than surprised to find out that he is not a sales person at ECOM works but in fact CEO and billionaire, and it seems she is the only one that doesn't know. And when Jordan explains why he never said anything earlier she figures she should really pay more attention to the business pages in the paper.

So along with a new relationship, a mother all but planning her wedding, her brother who is running background checks on her boyfriend, someone trying to run her over and burn down her house and of course running into none other than Joyce herself, Michaela is feeling a little overwhelmed by everything around her. But it is the Lies that Jordan tells her that will make of break everything and as he comes clean will she forgive him or will she be killed 1st.

I guess this is a bit of a suspense/ romance novel, it kept me guessing right up the last minute.

This is my 1st book by Anna Wells but will certainly not be my last. I look forward to more about the Marsh brothers and more from this great author.

I received this book from Netgalley for an honest review.

I was expecting something else and unfortunately, I’m quite a bit disappointed.

While the characters are interesting to a certain extent, I couldn’t see the appeal. I didn’t have the time to really appreciate the connection between Jordan and Michaela before they started to date and it’s annoying to be repeated throughout the book that they have been friends for a year without actually seeing it more than in one chapter. And even then, it wasn’t that convincing.

I would have loved to see Michaela truly struggling when it comes to being involved with Jordan, to be afraid of losing him if things didn’t work out because it would have been way more believable.

Here, I felt nothing short of two people going at it whenever they could to the point of being silly. Sexual chemistry is amazing in such a genre of books, but when it’s not believable and when it cuts short to the characterization, then it’s counter-productive and I ended up being bored and not that interested in the story or even the characters.

Moreover, the relationship between Jordan and Michaela progressed in a linear way which too doesn’t help building the reader’s interest, mine at least. I was bored and even Jordan’s need to takes things further so fast wasn’t funny. I’m not saying that the characters should have fought their attraction for the better part of the book, but at least I would have enjoyed a little more struggling from Michaela when she discovered what Jordan hid from her. But, nothing but one dialogue during which she explained that she was mad.

Speaking of dialogues… I think they’re not flowing that well. Not enough for my taste at least.

But the descriptions were good even though the dual POV was a little tricky to follow a couple of times.

I’m sorry to write such a review, but I didn’t like the plot, the mysteries weren’t that mysterious or even-balanced with the rest of the book, the ending is rushed… No, I didn’t like this book all that much.

I saw that other people already rated it very well so it’s obvious that I missed the appeal here. Maybe you won’t feel the same, so please, feel free to let me know if you enjoyed this book and why. Maybe you’ll open my eyes. :)

But right now, I don’t think I’ll read the other books that will be about Jordan’s brothers.

What happens when two friends take their relationship into the lovers zone after a night of too much alcohol and lowered inhibitions? Michaela and Jordan were part of a quartet, Jordan and his girlfriend, Michaela and her fiance, until the day Michaela came home early and found her boyfriend in bed with Jordan’s girlfriend. Their common ground becomes a comfortable camaraderie, but Jordan has his own secrets, and one of them is that he wants Michaela, completely. After a year of being her friend, he is going to bulldoze right over her resistance. But is that his greatest secret or is he hiding something even more earth-shattering? For Michaela, it seems that between Jordan, her family and even his, she is the only one in denial over her feelings for him. Relentless by Anna Wells is a tale of second chances, leaving the past behind and accepting each other for who and what they are.

Anna Wells injects humor, great dialogue and steamy sensual scenes into her contemporary romance at a pace that never falters. She has given Michaela a completely disarming and humorous personality that makes her stand out as a heroine who is strong, in spite of events in her life that threaten to cause upheaval. Jordan’s “big secret” could be understandable if Michaela were not the woman she is. Once he makes his move, he becomes a powerful force of protection, a demanding force for loyalty and is almost over the top in his attitude. When all is revealed, I certainly was breathing easier! Maybe our Michaela should learn to read the business news once in a while!

The Good
Had a cheesy feel, but I actually really enjoyed it . The first couple of chapters I liked it. The cute and playful interaction between Jordan and Michaela was fun and funny at times, however, I also thought things felt like it was going super fast between them, however, by the fourth chapter, I thought, ok this could be interesting.

Jordan truly lived up to the title of this book, he was relentless in every sense of the word. I wouldn't say he was possessive, but he was more, I know what I want and I am taking it by any means necessary and that is what he did with Michaela. The humor and sometimes their reactions and thoughts brought a smile to your face. Their physical chemistry was really good as well, they definitely spice things up. The author gave us a little mystery and suspicion with things that are surrounding the couple that keeps happening. Weirdly, I would have liked to read the first time Jordan meet Michaela, even though they were both with someone, since he is so relentless I would like to experience his thoughts when he met Michaela through Joyce.

The Bad
This story felt as though everything was going and moving super fast. It had a few cheesy moments and maybe a few unrealistic moments. Other than that I had no major problems.

Overall
This read had a simplicity to it, it felt like it was going fast at times as well as had a cheesy feel, but I loved it and enjoy the wittiness and humor of the characters and their spicy chemistry. As for the other characters, I am already waiting to read about Trevor and Ian, the other Marsh brothers, they sound s.e.x.y. I think it will be interesting. Also note to readers, if you like this story, there was a pervious book written about Michaela's brother and his wife called ( Trust Me). They are also in this story.

Jordan was instantly attracted to Michaela but she was engaged and he was dating a friend of hers. When Michaela finds her best friend and fiancé in bed together everything changes and Jordan has a chance to be more than just a friend. Even though she is not engaged any longer, Jordan finds himself in the position of friend and can’t seem to get Michaela to look at him as something else. Jordan had a plan, he would ease Michaela into a relationship and the end results would be that she would be his.

Michaela can’t believe how she is reacting to her best friend Jordan. She is has a feeling that she is either falling in love or has a huge crush on her BFF. When one of her friends states that Michaela and Jordan look like an item and that Jordan really has a thing for Michaela. Michaela confesses that she wants more from Jordan but is not sure that he does too. When they come together in a night of intense sexual pleasure she begins to second guess what has happened between them. But Jordan is having none of that and tells her to DEAL with the new us!

Will Jordan convince Michaela to take a chance on loving him? Can he get her to realize how she feels about him is more than BFF’s and he feels the same way about her? Will Jordan’s secrets keep them apart?

Hero – Jordan Marsh: 4 stars

Cliffhanger: No

Would I recommend this book: Yes! When you talk about perseverance this book has a man in it that will never give up on the woman he loves. Add in the fact that he is funny, sexy and a billionaire to boot and you have the perfect love story plus don’t forget about the corporate espionage and the who done it part of the book.

Would I read other books by this author: Yes! Love this author and the way she weaves her storytelling web. I will defiantly read more books as they come available.

2.5 stars - This is really hard for me…

I think I’ve only given one other 2 star review but in fairness to other great authors that I have only given 4 stars to I just can’t rate this one above 2.5 stars.

I never really understood it too much when a reviewer would say that a book needed editing (I guess I don’t really know exactly what an editor does) or that a book was choppy and jumped around too much. Now I understand…

I liked the characters in the book but it just didn’t flow for me. There was too much repetition about the friendship between Michaela and Jordan. When things do begin to move beyond friendship Jordan suddenly turns into someone whose character isn’t at all like it was when they were just friends. The qualities that Michaela liked in him seemed to be disappearing. I really struggled to finish this book; it took me way longer to read it than it would normally take for me to finish a book of this length. On a positive note – the character who turned out to be the baddie in this book caught me totally by surprise and that was a good thing.

Another thing that bothered me was that there was too much detail given about characters that I wouldn’t at all consider secondary. (In my way of thinking secondary characters are good candidates for their own books.) A nurse was described in detail and she only appeared in (I think) one scene. FBI and police/fire investigators were described in more detail than I would have expected. These descriptions took me away from the story and sometimes it was hard to come back.

I really wanted to like this book. Friends to lovers is one of my favorite romance “tropes.” Even better is the fact that it looked like this will be part of a series. Unfortunately I don’t think I will be reading any of the other books.

I received this book from NetGalley for my honest review.

This erotica follows Michaela & Jordan who become friends after Michaela finds her fiance in bed with Jordan's girlfriend. Little does Michaela know, Jordan wants HER and after a year of being "just friends" he finally makes his move.

This book was pretty bad. First, I don't nitpick grammar or misspelled words, it happens to everyone, but there were so many miss-edits in this, even I noticed it, and that's pretty bad. Beyond that, the writing was pretty weak, juvenile to me. Weird words, weird structure at times. The back and forth point of views were quite choppy.

With the story itself, they almost felt like they were pre-teens, instead of successful adults. She had always been cheated on, in her previous relationships. He's so intent on making sure she's over the ex that he makes her feel like he doesn't want her at all. Then, the "secret". He's rich, of course, has kept it from her, of course, and she's affronted for 5 minutes that he's "lied". **Roll Eyes here!** I won't even go back through the book and count how many times the words "evil billionaire" were stated. We get it!

The friends to lovers (you can be both!) theme, as well as the rich boy who hides his wealth, has been done over and over. This one just didn't do it well at all. This book was very very disappointing, I'm very sorry to say.

Michaela catches her fiancé and Jordan's girlfriend in bed together. We fast forward a year, during that time the two become inseparable. Michaela thinks she has a great friend, while Jordan has been pursuing her and befriending her to become romantically involved.

One night changes everything when Jordan finally gets Michaela to cave to passion. Only in the morning to be turned away, and repeatedly after that. Jordan is relentless in his winning Michaela over. But will he succeed in convincing Michaela that this friendship can be taken to the next level? Can they over come the secret Jordan is keeping? And when someone seems to be out for Michaela, will it be to much pressure to take?

So I'm not really sure what to say about this book. I felt like it was rushed, that in the year of this budding friendship it was just a manipulation to get what Jordan wanted, and while he wanted Michaela long term, it seemed fake to me. Maybe that's because I felt like there wasn't a lot of character development, I'm not sure. Jordan was an alpha, pushy, sexy and not taking no when all he wanted to hear was yes. Michaela was obnoxious to me, she wanted Jordan but wouldn't give in, and when his secret is revealed, which wasn't really a secret to begin with, she gets mad at Jordan. Ummm, everyone you know already knew and your mad because you couldn't figure it out?

All in all I felt like this story had great potential but just didn't accomplish all I expected it to be.

Relentless is the story about Michaela and Jordan. They became close friends after they were betrayed by their respective partners, you see Michael's fiance was found in bed with Jordan's girlfriend. While Michaela is trying to get past yet another betrayal by a man(this has happened to her before) Jordan is rejoicing because he has been interested in Michaela for awhile. After patiently playing the friend card for over 6 months Jordan makes his move and things get heated very fast. The cover of this book, which is amazing, is very accurate in demonstrating what you will get in this book.

Despite the quite explicit dirty talk by Jordan, the chemistry of the characters was only palpable for me and didn't jump off the pages screaming with pleasure. The espionage and mystery should have added to the story but I felt it just didn't quite fit and made the story disjointed for me. Perhaps I needed more background information about Michaela and Noah as well as Joyce and Jordan. Certain things like Michaela being clueless about Jordan's financial situation just didn't seem plausible especially after we learn about who is behind the mystery. Trust me, with a cover like this one, and two more sexy brothers to learn about, I was really hoping for a lot and unfortunately it may be why this one just fell short for me.

I was sent an ARC in return for an honest review and here it goes.....I read Ms. Wells first book "Trust Me" and loved it. I fall in love with her characters. They are all very likable and down to earth people, well characters if you will. Jordan and Michaela are amazing. I really liked how Anna introduced them to us in the book. Jordan is afraid he is in the perpetual hell of the "friend zone" with Michaela but damn the man is "relentless" (get it?). I even like Joyce for her evil back stabbing ways. Woman can be heartless and cruel. Joyce epitomizes that. Jordan and Michaela have this fantastic friendship and it takes one hot night to turn it into a volcanic eruption of passion. I don't want to ruin it for anyone but Jordan is demanding but in a sexy way. What I most like about this book is how it's of course a romance novel but also how Anna incorporates a fast paced dangerous story line while we are falling for Jordan and Michaela. Hell the supporting cast Trixie (no she's not a stripper), Ian, Trevor and even Donovan and the rest of Michael's family are all so lovable. I definitely want more for Trixie that's for sure!
There is drama, danger and romance all in this book. Great read and I'm excited and begging for more.
***Oh and on a side note there isn't a cliffhanger.

Michaela has had her share of bad boyfriends. She doesn't trust men anymore or do relationships. That changes one night when she sleeps with her best friend Jordan. He want to be with her romantically and she is unsure how to respond. She wants him too but can she trust him as anything more than a friend? Some unlikely events leave her in a position where the only thing she can do is trust him. Was that trust misplaced?

Jordan has been in love with Michaela since the first day he met her. He has befriended her and has been waiting for the perfect chance to change their friendship into something more. When he get an opportunity he is thrilled until Michaela says that they shouldn't risk their friendship. Now he has to convince the girl with commitment issues that she can trust him, while protecting her because someone is out for blood.

Wow! This book was such a fun book to read. I could not put it down I needed to know what was going to happen next. I really love Jordan and the lengths he was willing to go to get what he wants. The only thing I didn't like about this book is that Michaela kept trying to fight her feelings for Jordan. I mean if a man that perfect wants you go for it. Plus there is no one you can trust like your best friend. I highly recommend this book, it was actually way better than I thought it would be. I can't help but give this book five stars.

The story has a lot of potential. There is an alpha man, romance, steamy sex and mystery. Unfortunately, it doesn’t come together. Both main characters were unrealistic. Michaela has issues with trusting men but she forgives Jordan for lying to her for a year within a blink of an eye. He continues to tell lies and she continues to forgive him without even calling him out on his lies! I didn’t find Jordan’s character believable either. He was this sweet man courting Michaela for a year but the minute they have sex, he turns into an alpha man. No worries, she still loves him despite the fact that he is a completely different person than the one with whom she fell in love. The mystery/suspense aspect adds another dimension to the novel. Although this worked to a certain extent, I feel Wells could have done a lot more with this aspect. I didn’t find the dialogue very realistic and there were a lot of grammatical errors (although I read an early version of the novel and it may have been revised before release).

I do feel that Wells has a lot of potential as a writer. She obviously has some intriguing ideas. I can already envision the following Marsh brothers romances, which she has already started to work into the first novel in a subtle manner. I will definitely give another one of her novels a try.

I recommend this book to lovers of romance with alpha males.
