A LADY'S PREY Highway robbery is a hanging offense in 18th-century England, but that doesn't stop the daring Lady Daniela Winslow from taking to the road in the garb of her idol, Gentleman Jack, who robbed the rich to help the poor. Never did she dream that she'd ambush the infamous Jack himself--Lord Morgan Parnell.
A LORD'S PRIZE Outraged that he'd been taken at his own game, Morgan's anger turns to intrigue when he learns the imposter is a woman--an emerald eyed-beauty with an independent spirit and a scandalous reputation--a lady in need of reform. But Morgan's desperate attempts to save her plunge them into a wildfire of betrayal, murder and royal treason...and send them both soaring on the winds of a passion that promises to fulfill all love's fantasies.
The description of the book I am listing below is from the back jacket of the book. I'm adding it because I believe the one on the Goodreads page does not depict this story.

This book gives me the opportunity to say something I've wanted to for a long time: I do NOT find highwaymen (as well as women) to be the stuff HR novels should be made of! There's nothing remotely heroic, romantic or excusable (no matter what the supposed good intention are, or the "I NEVER rob anyone unless they're rich and crummy" nonsense)! Holding people up at gunpoint, scaring them half to death, taking THEIR valuables away, is horrible!!! The exception would be if they were stolen from others, and you knew that fact, but just saying that rich people treat poor people horribly, however true, does not make it right for someone to turn criminal and steal from them!
Gentleman Jack, my butt! Gentleman Jerk was more like it, and the same goes for the airhead h who decides to emulate him, because she wants to "be somebody" (another WTF moment) and has admired the criminal from afar. What crap!! Other h's who felt insignificant would become famous authors under a different name, or artists, or spy for their country, or find some worthwhile work or project, but they DON'T become criminals!! I've read books where the h became involved in smuggling, or was a burglar, but her reasons were economical, she hadn't much of a choice, but to stat robbing people for self- fulfillment! COME ON!!!!!!
Both His and Her Highway should have spent a LONG time in jail, instead of a short stay, and didn't deserve a HEA! (In my retelling, they both were hanged!)
