WHAT??! Next book not out until the fall of 2014??? GAH! And while I'm all riled up anyway... WTF with the new covers?! This dude isn't Tanner! Where are his tattoos?? HARRUMPH!!! And, btw, who else wanted to smack the shit out of Addy for even thinking of what she was thinking for awhile there? (I won't spell it out because I don't want to insert any spoilers, but anyone who reads this book will know exactly what I'm talking about. Seriously! How could she have even considered it?!) AND BTW, screw Jax! I'm tired of caring about him! At least not to the detriment of all other freaking characters.

GAH! I'm too upset to write a review. But obviously, I gave it four stars and I'll be checking off the days until book 5 is released. Dear God, please don't let me get hit by a Mack Truck and die before I get to the end of this series.

Are you freaking kidding me!!! I have to wait another year to read the next book. I thought book 3 was the last one, but then there was book 4. And now after a very frustrating read I have to wait a YEAR for another book. I am torn up over this book. Is it good? Yes, but I want a conclusion, a happy ever after, and crap keeps happening delaying the inevitable. The ending was so confusing it was just painful. I really hope the next book comes out sooner and comes to a conclusion. I can't take it anymore:)

When I saw this book had released it trumped every book in the queue before it. I love Colee's Unbinding fate series.

When we left Addy at the end of book 3, she had lost the three most important people in three different and equally cruel circumstances. Twisted memories picks up the story a few months down the line. Addy is living in Tremain, Gage is dead, Tanner can't remember her and Jackson is a shell. This book encompasses the same emotions of the first three. Addy is still uncovering facets of information about the Akori and the past while seeking a cure for her brother's condition. When Tanner starts to feature in her life again, she has to attempt to hide their past relationship.

This book is a must read. The whole series is a must read. But be warned, not everyone gets a happy ending. I can't wait for book five, Hellfire, planned for release late 2014.

If you have not read the first three books in thus wonderful series you need to STOP RIGHT NOW! DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER - SPOILERS AHEAD. Because this is a series some of the mysteries and questions from earlier books will have been answered in subsequent books in the series.

Before I begin with the heaps of praise I just have to share that I am not a big fan of the new cover design. It is lacking the intrigue and mystery that the original covers exude. Cover change aside, the content remains excellent, drawing you back in from the very beginning.

Now, if you are still reading, here is why you most definitely want to continue with this wonderful series. The story resumes almost exactly where it stopped in book three. Addy, having defeated the evil Oric, sent the love of her life back to Tremain. Along the way she also destroyed the hurricane caused by Oric in an effort to protect all of the humans in Tremain and surrounding regions. Little did she know just how dangerous the repercussions of her act would be.

With the threat of Oric ended Addy finally has time to really focus on all that she has lost, and it almost kills her. She had already been forced to grow up far to quickly due to earlier events. Now, when she should be spending time with Tanner, her soul mate and secretly claimed mate, the two of them easing into leading the Akori in a time of peace, she must lead alone. As Addy discovers, part of being a good leader is being able to set aside personal issues and on the greater good. Those closest to her see her suffering, but aside from offering their love and support there is little they can do for her. Though she continues to lead her people in her role as Shepherdess, she is basically functioning almost entirely on autopilot. She also spends the majority of her time over in Tremain, caring for her brother Jax, as he is now trapped there due to his human side becoming dominant upon crossing back into Tremain. The very thing that helped Addy defeat Oric once and for all has caused her to possibly lose her brother for good. Addy refuses to accept that her brother is lost forever, especially after losing Tanner, so until she finds a way to get her brother back, she too is tied to Tremain. Only two things have kept Addy going so far; a single thread of hope that when Oric possessed Jax it didn't kill her brother's soul but simply displaced it or repressed it, and her complete dependence upon reflecting symbols to help mute the pain. As Preston has had some past experience relying on reflecting to mute the pain, he eventually convinces Addy that she will never really recover and begin moving forward again until she faces the raw emotions and comes to terms with them. Addy accepts Preston’s advice, demonstrating that she continues to mature.

Jax is completely catatonic for months, and then one day he responds to a piece of music that Addy is playing on the piano by walking over to stand by the piano. No matter how many more times she plays that same piece, it never evokes another response from him. Yet the fact that he responded to something gives Addy the hope that she so desperately needs, and she keeps trying different music in the hopes of getting another response. This leads to her discovery of a comic book/sheet music store while looking for something else to get a response from him, anything to prove that her brother is in there somewhere.

Over time Addy becomes friends with Parker, the owner of comic book/music the store. Eventually she reveals the whole story about the Akori, in part because it is so much easier to portal into his back room to dig through the old sheet music than it is to fight her way through the media circus camped outside the estate's gates 24/7, and because she finds herself needing a friend in Tremain. Parker is one of the only humans that Addy deals with, let alone befriends, to the point that he comes to the estate for Preston's meals on a regular basis. By sharing her burdens and entrusting a human with the knowledge of the Akori’s existence is she being immature, or is the choice a mature one? After all, there are humans that know of the existence of Akori and nothing bad has come from the selective exposure yet.

With Tanner gone from Greystone Addy struggles to find her way. And though she knows why by he wants to be in Tremain, she only shares part of his reasons for wanting to return to the human world. Addy spends much of her time in Greystone with Ryker, captain of one of the fight clubs. Their friendship continues to grow stronger, eventually becoming the catalyst for a series of situations, each worse than the one before, putting Ryker and others at risk.

Addy slowly begins to get her legs under her again, and shows a real increase in her maturity level. No longer does she think of her own needs first all the time, but instead focuses on making life better for all Akori. And though some changes are working better than others, she is determined to make even more changes for the betterment of all the Akori that aren't locked away in the old city for supporting Oric in his bid to take over. It just takes time to figure out how to get the impacted Akori to think the changes are their ideas.

Though Tanner plays a much smaller role in this book as an active participant, he informs so many of Addy's decisions that he is still actively involved in the storyline. We simply experience him through Addy's emotions and memories. And though he has no memories of Addy or the Akori thanks to Oric, it may just be that they are destined to be together no matter what challenges they face - including Tanner having his memories wiped. Even losing the memory of the only person to ever say, "I love you" to him. For once the pair unexpectedly run into each other in Parker's shop, their meeting will cause a chain reaction of vast proportions before all is said and done, bringing joy, pain, and everything in-between.

Once again Addy, Tanner, and the rest of the Akori are facing dangers from several different directions. The problem is, so far only a small handful know they are in any danger - and those that do know may find themselves unable to help themselves, let alone anyone else. Yet again Ms. Firman ends the book such a way that I am left desperately awaiting the next installment. I'm not sure I can handle these cliffhanger ends too many more times, however I am loath to consider their story ever coming to an end. I imagine that is one of the best ways I can praise a book - even if I suffer between each book I find myself unable to stay away, and literally counting the days until the next release! I may even offer to pay Ms. Firman to allow me to become a beta reader, or at least have access to the ARCs for future books, and then pray that she doesn't take out a restraining order for fan harassment! :-)

So up to this point ... Book 1 introduced the Akori and the way they were living in this world, coming to a conclusion with a bit of a boom ... Book 2. Four characters have been transported to Greystone, the Akori home world, which is another layer of earth. This book takes place in Greystone and Ravensbog. There is a gate separating these two layers, but the gate back to "Tremain" (our Earth) is broken and Addy, Tanner, Jax and Juliette are unable to return. Getting that gate working again is the goal. Book 3 ... Tanner is in Tremain and Addy back in Greystone, and as it's Addy's POV, this book deals with what's going on in Greystone ... and there is a lot going on. Lots of things are uncovered and tragedy abounds. Unbelievable ending ... at least we readers do not want to believe it. Book 4 ... Addy, Tanner and Jax are back in Tremain, but Addy can travel through the gates, so the story travels through all the layers. Still dealing with the aftereffects of all the happened there at the end of book 3, there is finally a light at the end of the tunnel ... cliffhanger ending. Again.

I'm so glad I didn't discover this series until it was complete.
I get to read all the books back to back!
Reading other reviews, waiting was very hard for many fans!
I can only imagine.

Firstly id like to thank Colee Firman for giving me this book in exchange for a honest review

Twisted Memories is the 4th book in the unbinding fate series and from the start I have been a big fan. As the series has continued it has become one of my favourite series however this book was abit of a let down. I felt I was left with more unanswered questions then I had in all the previous books combined Don't get me wrong I loved the book but does Hellfire have to be so far out of my reach that I cant get these answers? I can tell Hellfire is going to be AWESOME especially after the way this book ended!!
The epilogue makes me wonder if it be written from both Tanner and Addy's point of view? It would be good to see a what goes on inside Tanner's head. I really like the steamier parts in this one because honestly who wouldn't want to jump all over the love of your life when they have been gone for a long period of time I only wished there were more - im a glutton for steamy love scenes

I hope that hellfire will have most of the answers I seek such as Rykers mysterious past, a start of a resolution with the humans, Jax, was the death that occurred at the end all it seemed Im hoping that they were only out cold, what was so bad that Lem asked for his memory to be wiped and lastly Will's problem. These being only a few.

Throughout the series we have seen Addy and Tanner go through so much heartache and betrayal and it seems this book was no exception. It is becoming clear that the reason behind Eva's emotionless façade was because of everything Addy is only just starting to realise now - You can't trust or depend on anyone.

For everything Addy does to try to protect those she loves it seems there is some sort of a negative reaction in this instance its the humans have begun noticing and searching for answers especially after the hurricane just dissolved.
When Addy does the only thing she can think of and wipes a FBI agents memory it doesn't go unnoticed and she gets even more attention. That on top of the betrayal of close friends have Addy's list of problems mounting

All in all it was a great book

Still one of my favourite series!

The new cover is fantastic! So much better then the old one!

Some of the main character consist of the Akori: Addy, Tanner, Remy, Preston, Ryker, William, Lem, Mags, Grimm as well as several other Akori. The Humans in this story are a lot fewer the one main human is Parker.
There are Three different worlds: Tremain (the human world) Graystone (where the 7 main families of Akori live as well as the Sheppard’s) and Ravensbog (where the lower born live and where the fight clubs are.)

The story continues several months after were Chasing Darkness left off. Parker is introduced as the owner of his grandfather’s music shop which he has turned into a half comic half music shop. Parker has become friends with Addy. Parker also knows Tanner, which Addy finds out within the first few chapters. There are also a lot of gawkers at the estate since Addy used her power to dispel a major hurricane at the end of Chasing Darkness. In this story Addy and Ryker have grown closer. Their relationship is nothing more than a close friendship but that doesn’t stop others from getting the wrong idea. You find out that there are 3 forbidden powers. The story takes place in all three of the worlds. Twisted Memories is an amazing 4th installment to the story so far. This installment is just as amazing as the others if not better. The author brings you into the story and you fall in love with the characters. There are a few you love to hate, but an amazing story needs good and bad guys as well as twist and turns. This story delivered and left me wanting more. This story makes you believe that anything can happen. It also has a few shockers thrown in. The ending is very unexpected and I am not sure how the Author will ever top herself. The story is one of the best I have ever read and I love how the author is able to make you feel like you are right there in the thick of things. I would suggest this book to anyone who likes a good story, for this story is amazing!

What an amazing novel. Firman picks up this instalment of her series with the same smooth writing style and solid storyline that we’ve come to know and love from her. Her amazing descriptions show off her world in vivid clarity. I love how she makes this story seem so plausible. I really feel as if it was happening right next door. I was so caught up in the story that I couldn’t put it down, even for a second.

Although the characters in this series were quite well developed walking into this novel they continue to grow as individuals. I appreciate how they don’t remain static. They are realistic, even in their powers. I fully admit that there were times when I wanted to yell at some of the characters, but at the same time their actions were exactly what you would have expected from them.

This instalment in the series broke my heart and made me laugh in equal measures. It was a brilliant addition to the series and definitely left me aching for more.

Please note that I received this novel free of charge from the author in exchange for an honest review.

OMG!!! Seriously I am dying to find out what is going to happen next! The fall cannot get here fast enough. This book was absolutely amazing and the end WOW just wow. I had a feeling it was going to happen. I am so glad I was able to read this series, it is by far one of my favorite series. Colee is a very talented author and people who haven't had the pleasure in reading this series is seriously missing out.

The book was very heartwarming and you could feel every emotion being portrayed. The way things are described in the books give you a very detailed picture in your head. Please, please don't pass on reading this series. I promise it is an experience you will not regret!!! Absolutely amazing!

It goes into the details of how Addy is coping and feeling after losing everyone she loved and cared about. I cannot really say much more because it will give away the awesome parts. I really wish the 5th book was out already because I am honestly dying to find out what is going to happen.

I loved this series...until the end of this book. I assumed this book was to be the last book. But it's not and that normally It would be exciting to me, if this book hadn't been disappointing. I read the last paragraph and was left thinking that there wasn't enough to this book to end with a cliffhanger. I was left wonder how long I would have to wait for the next one and if it would be worth the wait..? Maybe I psyched myself up too much for this release but regardless it was somewhat a let down.

Book 4 in the Unbinding Fate series. I thought I already reviewed this when I read it back in June. Guess not! I am Impatiently waiting for book Five! In book four, we're back at normal earth and I can't say much about it at this time so as not to give away any spoilers. I love this series though so if you haven't read it, start now.
