This is very interesting isekai/transmigration premise where a CEO switches places with the emperor of a nation that just conquered the main character's nation. In efforts to keep from facing the same fate as the villain he's switched places with, he tries to charm the main character and right the wrongs the villain has made prior to the switch.
It's pretty funny, the art is nice, and I like the development of the relationship. Too early to tell, but I see lesbians and that's always a plus. I'm curious about the fact that this series didn't set up any stakes whatsoever. So, unlike the other stories I read with similar plots, I'm not sure why the lead never seems to contemplate trying to get home, what's going on at home, or what the consequences of never returning home might be. Especially for a CEO - unless it's like American CEO's, the company would probably struggle without him.
I love this series and read the novel before the manhua. Will have to say that while I like this adaptation the novel is better for me and I wish it didn't deviate from it as much. But I'm glad they did what they did and actually finished a series. too many stories have incomplete manhua adaptations. This version is more light hearted while the novel seems darker.

This is the GR entry for the official copy, which I uhhhhhhh didn't read... but I did read A copy of this! So this is my record of that event.
I'm kind of shocked I'm giving this four stars -- it is, like most comic adaptations of a novel series, incredibly condensed and extremely workmanlike in both narrative and illustration. I read it to see if the novels were worth checking out, basically.
... and yet, I really enjoyed myself? My expectations going in were in the dirt, but still: there were some truly great moments in here, and even as rushed and shallow as the storyline can be in this format, it was interesting enough to impress me with its ambition. Yeah, I'll definitely try to get ahold of the novels. And I might even revisit parts of the manhua when I do, to compare, so four stars it is, although in reality closer to three and a half.
