3.5 ‘Good night, Moon’ stars!!!
A few years ago I read this book called Taking Chances. It was one of the first books I read that completely gutted me. Ever since then, whenever I read a Molly McAdam’s book I get that nervous feeling. Is she going to do something like that again? Safe to say, I had no tears while reading Trusting Liam. The only time I felt a little teary is when there was reminiscing about Chase. You can read this book as a stand alone, but if you’ve read Taking Chances and Forgiving Lies, you’ll probably connect with the story a bit more since you’ll know a lot of the secondary characters.
Kennedy Ryan is the daughter of Kash and Rachel Ryan. She and her twin sister are moving all the way to California due to some complications with her dad’s job. It’s a new start for her and even though her sister is bent out of shape about the move, Kennedy is okay with it. That is until she meets Liam Taylor. Or see’s him again… Liam is the guy she met in Vegas over a year ago. The guy she hasn’t forgotten in a full year. A man she never thought she’d see again.
No one is more surprised about Kennedy showing up in California than Liam is. Add in the fact that she is his bosses niece and is now working at his Dad’s gym… it’s just meant to be. Liam never thought he’d find this special girl again, but now that he has, he is more determined than ever that he’ll never let her go. If only things from the past could stay in the past… Kennedy has secrets. Her past isn’t what either of them thought it was. And it’s about to come all out in the open.
I liked Kennedy, but I didn’t connect with her as much as I wish I would have. I understood why she did what she did towards the end… but her choices lost a lot of points with me. Liam was great- . It was cool to get to see Brandon and I LOVED getting so much of his friend, Brian. All his scenes just made me smile and laugh. Such a funny guy. Kennedy’s sister Kira- she was my least favorite character of the story. I just wanted to slap her most of the book.
What I love most about Molly McAdam’s writing is that it’s easy to read and addicting. I read this story in one day with hardly any breaks. It held my attention. She does a great job writing NA. I like her style. Even though Kennedy irked me at times, I did see a lot of growth in her character and I like that. People aren’t perfect. They make mistakes. I like that Kennedy learned from hers and grew from them. Even though this had a few issues for me, it was still a solid 4 star read. I would recommend it to Molly fans.

January 19, 2015Yep, I'm one of those people making shelves for books that will never, ever be read by me. (Team Chase, all the way) But hey, at least I was generous to avoid down voting it. That's only because I couldn't give it a negative 42 like I wanted too though.
I wish all of those masochists willing to read this luck. I'll be over here eating my Cherry Garcia and continuing to ramble on about how it should have been Chase, even if Harper didn't actually deserve him.

yes... that would be me....
I was so scared to read this book... you see... Taking Chances is THE HOLY GRAIL book for me... it is "THE" book I use to rate other books... why?? Because Taking Chances hit every freaking emotional high and low for me... this book shredded and shattered me while at the same time lifted me up and gave me hope that no matter the devastation... you know you will survive... and life goes on...
So, reading about Chase's son Liam, feeling his soul and listening to his heart... I just knew I would feel pain. I was ready for that pain... and to no surprise... a small little paragraph that only mentioned Chase.. not even by name... gutted me! Seriously.. I was in shock at how real I still felt the loss of Chase... and reading just a tiny bit of what that loss did to his son, to shape him and make him the man he is today... yeah.. G-U-T-T-E-D!
Here is where it gets really painful for me... and I know it is my own damn fault! I held this book on an absolute pedestal, high above the heavens... and sadly.. I failed myself for that fact... and feel that the book did not soar like I thought it would. I expected some sort of closure.. or balm for my bleeding soul... and I did not get that! I have let it settle in my heart for days before writing this review... as i have not been able too bring it to words.. but here it goes.
Kennedy and Kira, twin daughters of a former undercover cop who get shipped to California to protect them from threats of a gang that her father took down and put in prison.. but are now starting to get released...
The family reaches out to family friends in California to watch out for the girls. Enter Liam stage right... he is asked by his boss to help out and get the girls out and about socially.. and also helps out in getting them a job at his Dad's gym....
Little did Liam know that Kennedy is the girl who got away.. about a year ago... after one amazing night in Vegas... She has magicallay re-appeared in his life.. and he is going after the girl!!!
But Kennedy has a secret.. well a few actually.. but one that can seriously destroy any future they could ever have!

IT"S LIAM!!! and he is amazing!!... his heart and soul, though he has carried the weight of another on his soul.. someone he never even met... he is AMAZING!! Imagine living in the shadow of a very loved man your ENTIRE life... growing up to look like his twin.. and the pain you see in the eyes of your very own mother when she looks at you... Just utterly too much for a single soul to carry... but still he triumphed.. had some justified outbursts... and became just the man he was meant to be and Chase would be DAMN PROUD!!
Brandon.... OMG... I fell for him a little harder... he is literally one of the best men out there... A true class act who has raised his son with the highest morals and details to the right way to live.. his heart is truly in Liam.
Brian - Brandon's BFF and resident tattoo artist - OMG HE IS THE BOMB!!!! He is like this witty heartwarming man that is soooooooo in touch with everyone's soul.. that his just rocks!!
The story... I loved it.. the premise of danger... the links to Chase... the soul of Liam! just....sigh!

Kennedy - Just not feeling her... Liam deserves everything.. and Kennedy was lacking for me... She starts off as an amazing and independent and broken woman... and ends up being very wishy washy, and although I won't spoil the story... but when her secret comes to light.. and the way she handled it... just PISSED me off!! No one should treat others the way she did.. and although I can understand and sympathize her situation... it was handled WRONG! ( well in my mind and if I ever had the guts to be a writer, right?! lol) I get where ms. Molly was going with this.. and how the tie in is with Kennedy and Liam and.... like Harper and Chase and Brandon....but still.. Liam deserved better!
Kira - You just DON'T do that to your sis... NO MATTER WHAT! (you'll get it when you read it..lol)

Harper - NON-exisitent! I know I know... it is Liam's story... but every mother would be front and center. This mother had no excuse not to be front and center. I appreciate Molly making this about Liam.. but Harper. Should. Have. Had. A. Voice!
The story - Like I mentioned.. I expected closure, I needed salve for my wound... it is not here. I never thought that Chase would not get his pedestal... even though I fully realize this book is about Liam.. not Chase...but it was still dissapointing not to see even a grave visit or something.... ANYTHING!
The whole huge drama about having to send the girls to California.. the threats.. the fear for their safety... THEN ZERO!!! This story would have been amazing if Kennedy had been kidnapped and Liam, (her knight) would have saved her... (yeah.. to expected.. i get that, but still) because while she was kidnapped.. she would have quit being wishy washy and realized that she could not survive without Liam... and become the woman he deserved as she fought her way back to him.. instead of being so passive... and... well can't give ya' spoilers.. but very upset there was zero to this great drama that could have unfolded... or even ANYTHING that would have given a voice to the amazing initial story of the gang threatening the girls lives.
I appreciate Molly making this about Liam..I am sure it was NOT easy! And about possibly not wanting to tie him down with all things Chase...BUT, with the explosion that was Taking Chances... with the insurmountable pain she unleashed on us... by not honoring him and giving him the voice through Harper and others... by not giving the readers what they needed while trying to make the story true to Liam... it lacked the magic for me even when I am fully aware of the direction that Molly took this. Although I have no clue why she did this.. and she has every right to do this... and I would never have the guts to write anything and publish it... Molly just left me feeling - Empty...
I liked the story.. and it would be a 5 star... had I NOT read Taking Chances or Stealing Harper... but with those powerful books so intimately attached to Trusting Liam... It makes this story fall sadly short of where it should have been.

Taking Chances was a very interesting book/read for me. I loved it since it completely shocked me. I read it the first week it came out so I did not see one review. I avoided GR like a plague. I also “hated” TAKING CHANCES since it took away my favorite character.
My rating really has to do with the fact that I did not like the heroine, Kennedy or “Moon” at all. She was just … there. I was disappointed. I wanted the best for Liam and for me (and this is my opinion) Kennedy was not the best.
I was also disappointed in the development of the characters. I just needed a little more. The story was not engaging. It felt like a repeat of many other romances I have read over and over involving one night stands. Same story, just different names. The same games were played with the same feelings retold. It was nothing new.
Kennedy and her twin, Kira, are moved to California after there has been a threat to their family. I did not care for Kennedy, but Kira was worse. “A spoiled brat” does not even describe that girl’s behavior. The behaviors of both of these characters were exhausting at times. I don’t even know why Liam wanted the heroine. I wish it was spelled out in the beginning how these feelings developed because I did not see it or feel it. He had one night with her a year ago in Vegas. What was so amazing about her??? I did not get it. There was nothing unique about the story and the characters.

ahhhhhhh!!! I cannot wait for this to be complete!!! I hope it incorporates the engagement ring that Chase was going to give Harper which she never looked at!!! I am dying to know how the ring looked because I bet it was a perfect representation of his love for her!!!! I cannot wait to read this book!!!!!

I knew going in my expectations were high, maybe a little too high, but it made me realise one thing after reading Trusting Liam - about Chase Grayson and about myself... I still haven't let him go, and I don't think I ever will.
Liam Taylor, the boy who was the result of an affair between Harper and Chase in Taking Chances gets his own story in Trusting Liam. Here we jump into the future, where Harper and Brandon Taylor are still happily married, yet the loss of Chase Grayson is still very raw in this family...
Liam is a walking, talking, breathing reminder of the young man - the Father he never knew and expectations are high. Liam hasn't had it easy filling a dead man's shoes and I fell for him immediately, but as much as it pains me to say this, that underlying anger of expectation lacked in honouring Chase's memory.
Don't get me wrong here, Liam is fantastic, he has parts of Chase in him, and parts of the man that brought him up as his own; he really is an amazing character and I loved him dearly, but I didn't love the story as much as I thought I would.
If felt distant in a way I am struggling to put into words, I guess I just expected...more. More Brandon and Harper, more Liam and his thoughts and views on his Father, hell... maybe even a grave visit. I don't know, just something...
I'm not saying there isn't an element of love here, but how Liam regards the memory of a man he never met just seemed a little stalemate and I felt he judged his 'Father's best friend' for cheating on his girl. Brandon raised him so I can appreciate and even understand that is where Liam's loyalties would lie and I'm not disputing that, I just wanted one chapter that offered closure, so I could move on and embrace an epic love story between Liam and Kennedy, and I felt shortchanged... I didn't get it.
I love my angst, and I know Molly McAdams had to handle a huge backlash when she made that decision in Taking Chances but I thought it was ballsy and made the story go from great to exceptional, but a part of me felt like this book was an apology. The story wasn't bad by any means but a little low key and anti-climatic for my tastes.
Every nuance was met with a quick satisfying outcome. There was drama but it wasn't on par with what I have come to expect from this author.
My one saving grace was Brian. That man is awesome! Chase's tattooist buddy and confidante, he took that friendship and extended it to his son Liam and I could have kissed that crazy dude. His little Chachi never went without a kind ear and some good solid advice and I loved him for that.
Now, the heroine... Kennedy had her good points. She was headstrong and wasn't afraid of taking chances herself but emotionally she was completely stunted. Scorned, hurt and haunted by a past relationship that ended badly, her belief that love doesn't exist was met with understanding in the early part of this book. It did however become monotomous towards the end when she was still pushing those she loved away. Overall, I liked her but I wasn't bowled over.
Although, there is a little twist coming so that made for an interesting dilemma. Enter unconventional triangle number 2... and even then, don't feel deterred, it was handled with kid gloves.
The love story itself was satisfying, but the added background plot/drama was added for effect and not nurtured or actioned in a way that gave it justice. It could have been so much more...
I would have loved a good fight scene. Even a shocking twist but with a happy outcome. There were no heart-stopping moments, it was all very amicable.
Brandon was amazing as always, although Harper faded into the background and Kristi, the sister/daughter also left much to be desired.
I guess you could say I loved Liam, but I was left unfulfilled in a way I didn't quite expect. Maybe my own expectations were just too high.
Trusting Liam isn't a bad read, my goodness, there really were some defining moments, but as a big fan of Taking Chances, I can only be honest here and say that it doesn't hold that alluring magic the first book did. You have to read this and come to your own conclusions. I feel this is one fans will either love because it's an 'easier' read, or feel indifferent about it because it isn't quite what they expected. I think I fall deeply into the latter.

Kennedy wollte nie wieder jemanden lieben, aber Liam setzt alles daran, ihr Herz zu gewinnen ...
Protagonisten
Kennedy glaubt nicht an Liebe, zumindest nicht bei ihr selbst. Sie bewundert die perfekte Ehe ihrer Eltern, aber nach einer negativen Erfahrung ist sie sich sicher, dass Liebe nicht echt ist. Trotzdem kann sie Liam nicht widerstehen: sie kann die gemeinsame Nacht genau so wenig vergessen wie er, aber aus Angst will sie ihn nicht an sich heranlassen. Also wartet man nur darauf, dass sie ihre Abwehr runterfährt...
Liam ist total besessen von Kennedy. Sie weist ihn immer und immer immer wieder ab, aber er lässt nicht locker. Natürlich, er ist ja in sie verliebt und kann sie nicht aufgeben und letztendlich hat er ja recht mit seinen Bemühungen. Aber ein bisschen Respekt vor einem Nein, bitte! Ansonsten ist er ein netter Kerl.
Handlung
Es war langweilig. Es ist einfach nicht wirklich irgendwas passiert! Das Buch war voller Geschichten aus der Vergangenheit und Kennedys Grund für ihre Angst vor der Liebe war das einzige, was mal minimal interessant war, allerdings konnte man ziemlich schnell ahnen, wie das ganze ausgeht. Es geht also nur um die Liebesgeschichte, die auch nicht allzu spannend ist.
Schreibstil
Es sind teilweise Wochen und Monate zwischen den Kapiteln vergangen, in denen sich nichts verändert hat. Das wäre ja an sich nicht schlimm, doch genau um diese leeren Zeitspannen herum passieren so viele Dinge. Vorher geschieht etwas, das nach Veränderungen, Weiterentwicklungen und Entscheidungen schreit, und dann passiert ewig gar nichts. Ich sehe keinen Sinn hinter diesen eingefrorenen Wochen, und darum stört es mich!
Sonstiges
Ich schätze, Molly-McAdams-Fans hat dieses Buch besser gefallen als mir, schließlich geht es um die Generation nach "Love & Lies" und "Taking Chances". Das Buch wimmelt vor Geschichten aus der Vergangenheit und die Geschehnisse jener Bücher spielen eine große Rolle, stehen oft im Mittelpunkt. Immer wieder wurden sie erwähnt und auch so viele Charaktere traten auf. Ich weiß, wie es ist, wenn man geliebte Charaktere wiedertrifft und ich mag das selbst auch gern. Protagonisten
Kennedy glaubt nicht an Liebe, zumindest nicht bei ihr selbst. Sie bewundert die perfekte Ehe ihrer Eltern, aber nach einer negativen Erfahrung ist sie sich sicher, dass Liebe nicht echt ist. Trotzdem kann sie Liam nicht widerstehen: sie kann die gemeinsame Nacht genau so wenig vergessen wie er, aber aus Angst will sie ihn nicht an sich heranlassen. Also wartet man nur darauf, dass sie ihre Abwehr runterfährt...
Liam ist total besessen von Kennedy. Sie weist ihn immer und immer immer wieder ab, aber er lässt nicht locker. Natürlich, er ist ja in sie verliebt und kann sie nicht aufgeben und letztendlich hat er ja recht mit seinen Bemühungen. Aber ein bisschen Respekt vor einem Nein, bitte! Ansonsten ist er ein netter Kerl.
Handlung
Es war langweilig. Es ist einfach nicht wirklich irgendwas passiert! Das Buch war voller Geschichten aus der Vergangenheit und Kennedys Grund für ihre Angst vor der Liebe war das einzige, was mal minimal interessant war, allerdings konnte man ziemlich schnell ahnen, wie das ganze ausgeht. Es geht also nur um die Liebesgeschichte, die auch nicht allzu spannend ist.
Schreibstil
Es sind teilweise Wochen und Monate zwischen den Kapiteln vergangen, in denen sich nichts verändert hat. Das wäre ja an sich nicht schlimm, doch genau um diese leeren Zeitspannen herum passieren so viele Dinge. Vorher geschieht etwas, das nach Veränderungen, Weiterentwicklungen und Entscheidungen schreit, und dann passiert ewig gar nichts. Ich sehe keinen Sinn hinter diesen eingefrorenen Wochen, und darum stört es mich!
Sonstiges
Ich schätze, Molly-McAdams-Fans hat dieses Buch besser gefallen als mir, schließlich geht es um die Generation nach "Love & Lies" und "Taking Chances". Das Buch wimmelt vor Geschichten aus der Vergangenheit und die Geschehnisse jener Bücher spielen eine große Rolle, stehen oft im Mittelpunkt. Immer wieder wurden sie erwähnt und auch so viele Charaktere traten auf. Ich weiß, wie es ist, wenn man geliebte Charaktere wiedertrifft und ich mag das selbst auch gern. First I will say this : I strongly recommend you read first "Taking Chances" ( Taking Chances #1 ) and "Stealing Harper" ( Taking Chances #1.5 ). Why? So you can have the whole experience and understand the pain.
That being said, let's began with my review. I am Team Chase. There I said it. "Taking Chances" is one of those stories I just don't re-read because I just don't want to go through the pain again.
When I found out Molly wrote a book about Liam, OMG! I was so happy! I couldn't wait to read. I wanted to meet Liam. After all he is Chase's baby! I knew this book was going to be amazing. I hoped. Well, the only thing that made this book amazing was Liam. It was great to know Liam. I know Chase would be proud of his son. Since I read "Taking Chances" I knew Liam's life wouldn't be easy. Here we get to know how difficult it was. Growing up too look just like a father he never knew. Not easy. But anyways, I felt like Liam's story was a consolation prize for us Team Chase and we needed more. I needed more. We didn't get a lot of Harper. I know, I know this was Liam's story, but we needed Harper. I know the writer didn't want to write a book and talk about Chase and Harper the whole time, but something was definitely missing here.

Trusting Liam is a New Adult contemporary romance. It is the conclusion to the Taking Chances and Forgiving Lies series.
There will be spoilers from Taking Chances and Forgiving Lies/Deceiving Lies.
The narrators are Kennedy and Liam.
Liam is Harper and Chase's son (from Taking Chances). Kennedy is Rachel and Kash's daughter (from Forgiving Lies). They are all grown up now.
When I saw that this book was going to tie the two series together I was curious how much previous characters would be featured in the story.
This book can be read as a standalone. The author does go into detail explaining a lot from the other books. However I think that the reader will get a lot more out of the story if they have read Taking Chances and Forgiving Lies.
The dedication was brilliant: "To everyone who has a love/hate relationship with me because of Chase ... I hope you enjoy Liam." I was actually very upset with what Molly McAdams did to Chase in Taking Lies. So much so that I only skimmed Stealing Harper (the alternate POV book). Maybe some time I will be able to read it.
Trusting Liam begins with a girl in bed with a guy. She remembers bits and pieces of the night before. This is actually one of my least favorite story lines. I hate drunken sex. It doesn't make me like the characters or want to root for them. However since one of them is Liam, I overlooked this transgression.
The book picks up one year later. And we have 22 year old Kennedy, who has just graduated from college. She is sassy (which reminded me of her mom) She likes to be in control.
I had just read Forgiving Lies so I knew Rachel and Kash. I really want to read Deceiving Lies (I am guessing that we learn about Kennedy and her sister Kira at the end of that book/epilogue). It was definitely interesting to see Rachel and Kash 22+ years later. And Mason is in the story too. If you have read Taking Chances and Forgiving Lies you will know who everyone is and their stories.
Near the beginning of the book Kennedy and her sister are sent from Florida to California (this relates to what happened at the end of Forgiving Lies and in Deceiving Lies). They move near Eli (who Rachel considers her brother). Eli has a fairly decent role in this book because he is also Liam's boss.
I was very interested in Liam. Since I loved Chase I was very curious to see if Liam would be anything like him. And he was like him. Liam was a playboy and didn't do relationships.
There were certain character descriptions that I found quite surprising. For instance Mason (from Forgiving Lies)- it says that he is 6'5 and 285 lbs. I'm not sure if I missed this in Forgiving Lies. But I had no clue he was that big. Also at 43% of Trusting Liam it mentions that Kennedy has tons of tattoos (sleeves, art on her chest, sides, back and legs). I am not sure if I missed some earlier mention of this. But I was shocked when I read it.
Brandon's gym was also featured a lot in this book. Brandon is Liam's dad who raised him.
I loved Brian and his advice. Also his nickname LC (Liam Chase or Little Chachi) was so endearing.
There are numerous times throughout this book when the story of Taking Chances or Forgiving Lies/Deceiving Lies is explained. Although this book refers to Brandon and Chase as best friends numerous times. And after reading Taking Chances I didn't get the impression that they were best friends. They lived in the same house. Maybe it wasn't clear that they were friends because most of what we saw was them fighting over Harper.
Chapter 12 had a three month leap which I found very big.
From the beginning I could not help but wonder what had happened in Kennedy's past to make her the way she was.
I was extremely impressed with the story having to do with Kennedy's past. It was original and interesting and I was not expecting it. However there were two things that bugged me. There was something that happened after that which was so predictable. Also, while I did like the epilogue
Trusting Liam was a very interesting book. I loved getting to see what happened to my favorite characters. And I enjoyed meeting Liam. It was definitely interesting how both series were tied together. It was an enjoyable conclusion to two interesting series.

3.5 Super Sweet Stars!

Gah! This book was so sweet. When I started to read again heavily Taking Chances was one of my favorite yet gutting books. It was one of those books that you loved it or hated it because of the ending. I thought it was brilliant so when I found out this book was a continuation from this and the Forgiving Lies series. I was all over that like, white on rice.
"Don't worry, LC. You'll figure it out when you're ready, just the same as she will. I've seen this before. If I hadn't, you wouldn't be here today."
This book can be read as a standalone but I strongly suggest you read Taking Chances and the Forgiving Lies series first, so you really get a understanding of these characters from their parent's hardships. Spoiler Liam is the son of Chase and Harper from Taking Chances where as Kennedy is one of a set of twins from Rachel and Kash from the Forgiving Lies series.
On a chance meeting these two hook up in Vegas but never exchange information. So when that night is done they only have yearnings and memories of it and for each other. Now a year later, Kash & Rachel's past is coming to the present causing Kennedy and Kira to have to move from Florida to California.
Lo and behold Liam is the one who is asked to make sure that Kennedy and Kira are fitting in. Liam begrudgingly agrees to this but is blindsided when he finds out one of the twins is from that night in Vegas he has never forgotten.
Kennedy and Liam are the byproducts of their parents, which means mistakes and all. Now these two have to learn their lessons on their own. But can they get away from their upbringing and their pasts? I have to admit that I totally adored Liam as he was the perfect combo of Brandon and Chase but I totally didn't dig the twins, either of them. Kira was a bit too whiny and flaky for me, whereas Kennedy was a bit too selfish, stubborn and a but clueless for my liking.
"I had that. I was sure I had what they had. I was positive I was in love. And then I found out how wrong I was one day. After that, I stopped looking at the world through love-clouded glasses, and started seeing relationships for what they were. They look perfect on the outside, and inside they're just a disaster."
Not all things are easy and Liam's finally finding that out. He now gets to see a different side of his parent's story, as well as know that things that are worth having have to be worked for.
"No one was ever worth the chase. But you? You will be worth it every time. I will always chase you, Kennedy."
Besides with some minor frustrations I still really did like the story. At times I may have like the idea more than the reality but it still worked for me in the end. As with all Molly McAdams books you are waiting for a big twist to come and gut you or surprise you, but it didn't happen in this one. Instead the surprise was more of a sweetness as we get to see how Harper, Brandon, Kash and Rachel and all the others have fared out. I have to admit that my favorite character in this book was Brian hands down. He's the glue that puts this book together.
This book was super sweet and great to see everyone again. It was like a large epilogue from the other two series combined.

I read Taking Chances 5 years ago and Stealing Harper 4 years ago. I LOVED BOTH! It's suggested to read the Forgiving Lies series before starting this one, and I did, and enjoyed that series too. But I really wanted to love this book, and sadly it didn't get there for me. I'm going to get spoilery, so the rest is going in a spoiler tag... Here goes my rant-review-whatever you want to call it...
Aside from my ranty feelings, I'd still say this was a good ride. Though I had my issues with it, I'm sure everyone else loved it. Chase really saved this one for me. 3 stars. And now I'm onto the next Molly McAdams book because I just love how she writes her relationship drama.

Getting Trusting Liam on my Kindle just after midnight on Tuesday was something I and many other Taking Chances and Forgiving Lies fans have been absolutely over the moon about since we knew this project was coming to be. Of course the second Liam arrived I started reading and as much as I wanted to finish this book in one sitting, life and pesky little first graders have a way of putting a stop to late night reading marathons.
Anyway, I have now finished Trusting Liam. Read my favorite parts more than once and basically have fallen head over heals in love with Chase Grayson's son. As one Molly McAdams Support Group member put it, I feel like I'm cheating on Chase with Liam. If you didn't get to read my post about my obsession with Chase Grayson (May 27, 2015), I will tell you he has been my obsession since I accidentally read Stealing Harper, not knowing I should have read Taking Chances first. And yes, I had a love/hate relationship with Molly through the whole Chase, Harper and Brandon debacle.
Reading about Chase's look alike son Liam and his story with Kash and Rachel's daughter Kennedy was more than I ever could have imagined. I literally had no words through out reading Trusting Liam because I was having ridiculous feels for both Liam and Chase.
Liam Taylor (which I'm not going to lie totally hurt my heart) has an incredible, steamy, passionate one night stand in Las Vegas with Kennedy Ryan, who actually happens to be Kash and Rachel's daughter (series collide...get it? God I love that). After that one night, Kennedy sneaks out before Liam wakes up and they don't see each other again...until....
Kennedy and her twin sister Kira are sent to California since, men that Kash and Uncle Mason have put in prison are making threats against Kash's family, especially his daughters. A very unhappy Kennedy and Kira fly out to California with their Uncle Mason and are left in the care of their mom's brother Eli.
Now here it comes...Uncle Eli is the boss of the very hot, very sexy, tatted up, iced blue eyed Liam Taylor (still killing me). Liam following in the foot steps of his late father is a man who has yet to be tied down to one woman, preferring the company of many women and definitely of the hit it and quit it mentality. That is until his night with Kennedy. The girl he can't get out of his head.
Obviously not being familiar with the situation, Eli asks for Liam's help getting the girls acquainted with California. He even asks Liam to see if Brandon can use the girl's help at the gym he owns. Liam does all of this not knowing who Eli's nieces actually are. Imagine his shock when he sees Kennedy at his father's (not really) juice bar and realizes it's his Moon from that night in Vegas. Yes, he calls her Moon and it's the sweetest thing ever (you'll find out why when you read). Every time Liam said, "Good night, Moon." I swooned. Okay, so I swooned over Liam through like 99.9% of the book. He is just that swoon worthy.
Unfortunately, Kennedy isn't that excited to find Liam after a year and spends a lot of time avoiding any attempt that Liam makes at getting together. Even while trying to tell Liam how wrong they are for each other, the two share some steaming hot kissing scenes that will make you wish you were Kennedy.
Here's the thing about Kennedy. The girl doesn't believe in love or forever, which is weird considering Kash and Rachel are still very much in love and have worked through a ton of crazy hurdles in their life together. Every once in a while Kennedy will allude to why she can't ever be in love again and why she doesn't believe in marriage. She also has some serious issues about being in control and you'll find out about that too.
Just when Liam breaks down Kennedy's defenses and they finally get together...Bam! You find out what Kennedy's been hiding and why she tried to push Liam away the whole time.
I love the way Molly brings these stories and families together. When memories of Chase came up I swear I could not stop the tears. When Liam tells Kennedy the story of one of his tattoos, I literally couldn't breath. Every once in a while yesterday my kids were like, why are you crying? How on earth do I explain Chase Grayson to them?
Anyway, Brian is definitely one of my absolute favorite characters in this story. I love that he calls Liam "Little Chachi". I love when he makes references to Liam and Chase's similarities and I love the wisdom he imparts on this younger generation. He was a good friend to Chase and now he's looking out for his son.
Here's what killed me. I get it that Brandon raised Liam, I really do, but I hated that he called him dad. I was gutted that he referenced Chase by his first name when he told stories about him. And maybe it's because I am anti-Harper, but I blamed her for that. She should have given Liam his father's last name.
I have to say, I liked Brandon more than I thought I would have. He was good to Liam. Once again, their talks hurt my heart because it brought back so much of Chase and Harper's story. The one thing I disagree most with is when Harper told Brandon she loved Chase, but was in love with him. I'm sorry but I think you'd want to lose your virginity to the person you were in love with.
With that being said, I loved Trusting Liam. Molly did such an amazing job weaving this story together. While it told the story of beloved characters from her other works, Molly made this Liam and Kennedy's story. Of course I left out a bunch of stuff because I want you to read this amazing book. If you haven't already, definitely go and one click Trusting Liam. I'm actually sad that I finished it because I adore Liam and Kennedy.
A five lip smack review for Trusting Liam. Kudos to Molly McAdams for continuing to do what she does best. Writing great, thought provoking stories with characters that feel insanely real and stay with you long after the story is over.

Even while trying to tell Liam how wrong they are for each other, the two share some steaming hot kissing scenes that will make you wish you were Kennedy.
Here's the thing about Kennedy. The girl doesn't believe in love or forever, which is weird considering Kash and Rachel are still very much in love and have worked through a ton of crazy hurdles in their life together. Every once in a while Kennedy will allude to why she can't ever be in love again and why she doesn't believe in marriage. She also has some serious issues about being in control and you'll find out about that too.
Just when Liam breaks down Kennedy's defenses and they finally get together...Bam! You find out what Kennedy's been hiding and why she tried to push Liam away the whole time.
I love the way Molly brings these stories and families together. When memories of Chase came up I swear I could not stop the tears. When Liam tells Kennedy the story of one of his tattoos, I literally couldn't breath. Every once in a while yesterday my kids were like, why are you crying? How on earth do I explain Chase Grayson to them?
Anyway, Brian is definitely one of my absolute favorite characters in this story. I love that he calls Liam "Little Chachi". I love when he makes references to Liam and Chase's similarities and I love the wisdom he imparts on this younger generation. He was a good friend to Chase and now he's looking out for his son.
Here's what killed me. I get it that Brandon raised Liam, I really do, but I hated that he called him dad. I was gutted that he referenced Chase by his first name when he told stories about him. And maybe it's because I am anti-Harper, but I blamed her for that. She should have given Liam his father's last name.
I have to say, I liked Brandon more than I thought I would have. He was good to Liam. Once again, their talks hurt my heart because it brought back so much of Chase and Harper's story. The one thing I disagree most with is when Harper told Brandon she loved Chase, but was in love with him. I'm sorry but I think you'd want to lose your virginity to the person you were in love with.
With that being said, I loved Trusting Liam. Molly did such an amazing job weaving this story together. While it told the story of beloved characters from her other works, Molly made this Liam and Kennedy's story. Of course I left out a bunch of stuff because I want you to read this amazing book. If you haven't already, definitely go and one click Trusting Liam. I'm actually sad that I finished it because I adore Liam and Kennedy.
A five lip smack review for Trusting Liam. Kudos to Molly McAdams for continuing to do what she does best. Writing great, thought provoking stories with characters that feel insanely real and stay with you long after the story is over.

What a FANTASTIC read!!!!
I don't even know where to begin to explain how much I LOVED this book. I was drawn to the book because after reading the blurb, I saw that she was combining characters from two of her series. This book combines Liam (Son from Taking Chances #1) and Kennedy (Daughter from Forgiving Lies). I have never seen another author do this concept and I was completely intrigued. Now I am sure many are asking if you need to read any of the other books prior to reading this one and I would say absolutely not!! Yes it would give you some of the background towards the two families involved in this book, but it isn't necessary to understand what is going on. Molly does a wonderful job filling in the spaces that need to be filled so the reader isn't lost during the story. I personally have only skimmed Taking Chances (because I couldn't stand the ultimate heartbreak that book brought on) and I haven't read either book in the Forgiving Lies series and I wasn't lost once.
Trusting Liam was a book full of emotions. From past things that took place between all the parents and also things that happened between Kennedy and Liam. My emotions were all over the place right from the start. I have to say I immediately fell in love with Liam. He is a fantastic Hero. This book had me laughing (Brian was hilarious), crying, blushing, and yelling, but in the end I was left with a HUGE smile on my face and my heart had been healed.
Now let me tell you for all those team Chase fans out there, he still played a part in this story and I have to be honest in saying the way this story is told, Molly was able to heal my heart and shed some light on the whole Chase scenario. I can't really say much because that is a part of the book that I think all Taking Chances fans must read on their own. But I was so glad that things were explained in this book and I still felt that Chase was a huge part of these characters lives. I thought she honored Chase very well :)
I loved that we got to see so many other characters from the other books in this one. That made this story feel real and believable. I also loved that we got to see where everyone ended up after what happened in Taking Chances.

Trusting Liam was a fun read, because I got to meet Kash and Rachel's identical twin daughters all grown up. I really enjoyed the Forgiving Lies Series, so it was exciting and heartwarming to get guest appearances from Kash, Rachel, Mason, and Eli, as well as references to their life events.
I never read Taking Chances, but as I read this story, I learned that Liam's parents were Harper and Chase from the first story in the series, and got to meet many of the other characters from that story as well. After reading Trusting Liam, I really want to go back and read Taking Chances. Even though Trusting Liam has many crossover characters, it can still be read as a standalone. However, if you haven't read the Forgiving Lies Series, and Taking Chances, be warned that Trusting Liam contains spoilers for those other books.
In Trusting Liam, we get Kennedy and Liam's dual perspectives. These two had one very hot one night stand in Las Vegas a year ago, and haven't seen each other since Kennedy snuck out the morning after. Even after such a long time apart, Kennedy and Liam never stopped thinking of each other. Kennedy and her identical twin sister Kira, are forced to move from Florida to California, when their lives are being threatened by powerful just released gang members that their father put in prison.
The twins Uncle Eli, enlists the help of Liam, to make the girls feel welcome in their new surroundings. When Liam learns that Kennedy is the woman from his Las Vegas one night stand, he is shocked. Kennedy doesn't do relationships or trust men with her heart after having it broken once before. Liam is determined to win Kennedy over, and make her take a chance on him. She may be stubborn, but he's not willing to take "no" for an answer.
Trusting Liam had a steady pace to it. I didn't care for Kira, who came off as whinny and immature, but I did like Kennedy, who was mature and independent. Kennedy wasn't very trusting, and made it very difficult for Liam to pursue her, but as someone who has experienced heart break before, I could understand her reservations. I loved Liam's perseverance, and how he put everything he had in to winning Kennedy over. He was sweet, romantic, and very attentive.
The plot of the story was great! My favorite aspects were being reunited with characters from the Forgiving Lies Series, and meeting characters from the Taking Chances Series; especially Liam's step-father Brandon, Uncle Konrad, and most of all family friend Brian. I also loved the major plot twist in the story that I didn't see coming. It made for a very interesting dynamic between all of the characters, and had far-reaching consequences in the story.

Being a big fan of Molly McAdams I was looking forward to reading Trusting Liam (Taking Chances #2). It was going to be a crossover from two of her series that I had read and loved.
Due to a past heartache Kennedy Ryan’s walls are up, she doesn’t believe in love anymore and has rules when it comes to relationships. When Kennedy and her sister Kira unexpectedly have to move to California the last person she expected to meet was Liam the guy who she spent one night with a year ago. Someone who she has never forgotten and made her break her rules.
“I was stubborn, independent and loved control, but Liam had me giving up all control to him within in minutes in Vegas”
When Liam Taylor is asked by his boss to entertain his nieces the last person he expects to see is Kennedy the girl he met a year. Even though they only share one night together, Liam has never forgotten that night or that girl. Now he is not going to let her go again.
“Whether or not Kennedy was ready or wanted it, I was getting ready to chase the girl who was already consuming my mind”
The storyline was about second chances, trust, making choices, leaving your past behind, and secrets. I like Kennedy and Liam together you, could feel the connection that they had. I like watching Kennedy slowly let her walls down, and with the help of a persistent Liam start to believe in love again.
“I’m terrified of the way he makes me feel just by being near him”
As always with a book from Molly it's not all plain sailing for Kennedy & Ryan. Molly likes to throw in some twists & turns to keep up guessing. There was a feeling of history repeating itself once a secret was revealed, but thankfully it didn't in a way that Molly is going to start receiving a new batch of hate mail. ;) There was a sweet epilogue that left a smile on my face so job done!!
“I am perfectly capable of loving someone, I’ve just never wanted to love anyone one until I met you”
Liam Taylor and Kennedy Ryan are children from characters from the Taking Chance series and Forgiving Lies, and I like how Molly brings it all together. I loved catching with the now older characters from both series. I will say it took a little bit of time for me to get my head around the fact that they are now my age!! Lol
Overall, I like Trusting Liam; it was heartfelt story that also made me laugh. I like Molly’s her writing style and how she always emotionally draws you into the story and the charterers. I will say and don’t’ hate me, but I don’t see Charlie as Chase let alone Liam so I had to keep pushing that image out of my head. However, that being said, it didn’t take away my enjoyment of the book as we all have different images in our minds of what characters look like.
Trusting Liam can be read as I standalone, but I do think if you can read both series before hand. Just to get the background, meet the parents, and to understand the reason behind Molly’s dedication. FYI… I was always #Team Brandon ;)

This review will probably be more emotional than anything and may include some Taking Chances spoilers…you have been warned.
The story starts a a flashback of a year prior from Kennedy’s POV. She is in Vegas and had a one night stand. We do not who it is yet but we know that she is running. Flash to the present and we have her and her twin sister, Kira, getting told by their parents that they are all going to California for a while because some bad guys, that their father and Uncle Mason put away, are getting out on parole and have made threats against them. Kira is none to happy about this but has no choice in the matter. Kennedy is just cool and ready for a change on scenery.
We then the flash to Liam who lives in California. Now through a stroke of interesting coincidences, he works for Kennedy’s other uncle Eli. Eli being Liam mentor and boss asks him to do him the favor of trying to get Kira and Kennedy out and about plus see if he can get them a job. Liam does not know until after getting them a job in his Dad’s gym, that one of “the nieces” is Kennedy or as he has called her since their one night in Vegas, Moon.
From here we basically go into a normal NA novel push and pull. Liam wants her and Kennedy does everything in her power to push him away. She doesn’t believe in love after being burned badly by another relationship. Liam is determined to change that. Their sexual chemistry is off the charts and I really did enjoy their dynamic.
IT REALLY DID WARM A PLACE IN MY HEART THAT WAS LEFT COLD BY TAKING CHANCES.
I was broken by Taking Chances. Just broken. It was one of my first self-published books I read. I read it on a whim. I feel in love with Chase. He is still and always will be one of my FAVORITE BBF’s. Then Molly murdered me. She broke my heart and I honestly believed I would never forgive her. I pushed through the ’til the end and even though it was not the ending my heart wanted, it was a great book. A book I still recommend, along with tissues, a bottle of wine and a Xanax. I have not read Stealing harper because I was crying by Chapter 3 and I just I had to stop.
I knew going into Trusting Liam it was gonna be tough. He was a piece of character that left a mark on my heart so it was not going to be easy. But Molly did a fantastic job of making him the man I needed him to be to help heal my heart. At Liam’s core he was my Chase. He had the qualities and feelings I loved about Chase but with little pieces of being raised by Brandon. It redeemed Brandon for me cause honestly I was not his biggest fan. Though everyone may not love this book since much of Kennedy and Liam story is very far-fetched even for my romance loving heart. It was still a great story. A Molly story.
What did I get from Trusting Liam? The “I’m sorry” I always wanted. No author has to apologize for the stories they write. It is their worlds and we are lucky enough to be a part of it. I just do not think she knew how much her readers were going to love her characters. So thank you Mrs. McAdams. I needed this more than I knew and you did my heart happy. Thank you.

4 Taking Chances Stars!!
Molly Mcadams isn't for everyone. I can understand that, everyone has their preferences. However, I love basically everything she writes. Taking Chances is in the top 5 of my all time favorite books. I guess I am a gluten but I just love books that bring out emotions, and my oh my does Molly's books bring out emotion in me!
Trusting Liam is the story of Chase and Harper's son Liam (from Taking Chances) and Kennedy the daughter of Kash and Rachel (from Forgiving Lies). I was so excited to get a sneak peak in to the future lives of some of my favorite book characters!! I could not wait to read this and I definitely wasn't disappointed!!
Liam reminded me so much of both of his dads in this story. He is living his life... and loving the ladies, and definitely not into any kind of commitment. That is until a mysterious girl he calls "Moon" crosses his path. Liam has a one night stand in Vegas, however when he wakes up and the mysterious girl is gone he feels crushing disappointment.... for the first time ever. She never leaves his thoughts and basically, she is the one who got away. Knowing nothing about her and having no way to track her down he knows he has to give up on her.... but she is never far from his thoughts.
Kennedy and her twin have to move from their home in Florida to California. The gang members who kidnapped their mom before they were born and that their dad put in prison are getting out and they have been threatening them. Kush and Rachel think it best that they go stay in California with family. Needless to say... they HATE California.
Both Kennedy and Liam's lives are turned upside down when fate seems to have thrown them in each other's paths again. Kennedy has never forgotten that night in Vegas either, but refuses to act on any feelings she has. She refuses to have her heart broken again and has quite frankly given up on love. However, Liam comes from fighters and doesn't give up. What he doesn't count on is the earth shattering secret Kennedy has been keeping. Liam has heard the stories of his parents and refuses to allow himself to be caught in the same kind of situation.
I so enjoyed this book. I really liked Kennedy and Liam's characters.... especially Liam's. He is so sweet and persistent. He is hard not to fall in love with. Kennedy is stubborn and strong and has loads of baggage, but she is very likable. Kira, her sister, on the other hand is a sniveling mess and drove me insane. The story line is great and if you have read the previous series that this book ties together, you will love how the pasts intersect with the present. I didn't give this 5 stars because I didn't completely connect and feel like I was a part of these characters lives. Not in the way that I have with other McAdams books.

That is until a mysterious girl he calls "Moon" crosses his path. Liam has a one night stand in Vegas, however when he wakes up and the mysterious girl is gone he feels crushing disappointment.... for the first time ever. She never leaves his thoughts and basically, she is the one who got away. Knowing nothing about her and having no way to track her down he knows he has to give up on her.... but she is never far from his thoughts.
Kennedy and her twin have to move from their home in Florida to California. The gang members who kidnapped their mom before they were born and that their dad put in prison are getting out and they have been threatening them. Kush and Rachel think it best that they go stay in California with family. Needless to say... they HATE California.
Both Kennedy and Liam's lives are turned upside down when fate seems to have thrown them in each other's paths again. Kennedy has never forgotten that night in Vegas either, but refuses to act on any feelings she has. She refuses to have her heart broken again and has quite frankly given up on love. However, Liam comes from fighters and doesn't give up. What he doesn't count on is the earth shattering secret Kennedy has been keeping. Liam has heard the stories of his parents and refuses to allow himself to be caught in the same kind of situation.
I so enjoyed this book. I really liked Kennedy and Liam's characters.... especially Liam's. He is so sweet and persistent. He is hard not to fall in love with. Kennedy is stubborn and strong and has loads of baggage, but she is very likable. Kira, her sister, on the other hand is a sniveling mess and drove me insane. The story line is great and if you have read the previous series that this book ties together, you will love how the pasts intersect with the present. I didn't give this 5 stars because I didn't completely connect and feel like I was a part of these characters lives. Not in the way that I have with other McAdams books.

I went into this book with a bit of trepidation, not knowing what to expect but hoping not to have my heart crushed like we all did with the story of Liam's parents.
Let's talk about Liam, the genetic gods were shining down on him when he was born to Harper & Chase. He is absolutely gorgeous. Not just in looks though. He adores his mother and has such an amazing relationship with his dad. A guy who loves his family and is not afraid to show is just adds to the attraction of why Liam is such a sweet guy.
Liam has been haunted by the memory of one perfect night he spent with a girl a year ago. She slipped out of his room leaving no evidence of who she was or how he would ever find her. Twelve months later they meet again. Circumstances are different this time but he is determined to see if she remembers him and what they shared.
Kennedy and Kira are the twin daughters of Rachel & Kash. They are reluctantly spending their summer, away from their family, in L.A. Kennedy is shocked to see Liam again, he is one of only two men who has ever gotten under her skin. She needs to steer clear of him if she is to protect herself from being hurt.
Liam is so like his birth father and is completely messed up over his feelings for Kennedy. The night they spent together over a year ago is still etched in his memory as the best night of his life. He knows they have a connection the neither of them can deny feeling. He needs to show Kennedy how wonderful it could be between them before she lets her past dictate her future.
This story will take you on a wonderful journey down memory lane and will leave you with a wonderful sense of peace. My heart is now healed.

I am normally a big fan of Molly McAdams but I did not like this book for reasons that will include SPOILERS:
1. The story revolves around Kennedy (and her twin Kira). Kash and Rachel had twins, remember? The idea of twins and a love story is not terrible, but I did not like that Kira and Kennedy were so similar in almost every way. They were identical, and both got tattoos (sleeves and more), and both were stubborn and obsessive about love. Their dynamic just didn't work for me because I wouldn't be able to fault anyone for interchanging them....
2. They were interchangeable: Rhys moved on to Kira right away. Thats not acceptable to me.
3. Liam was the son of Chase (who is deceased) Harper, and Brandon. He asks his father advice when he get put in a similar situation of trying to decide when to wait for a girl to decide which man she loves, and when to go after the girl who can't decide which man she loves. What an awful storyline to repeat.
4. Juarez was a dud. They were not a real threat and the reasons that the girls were required to move from Florida to California are completely flimsy.
5. Kennedy and Kira's tattoos are lame.
6. Why was Cecily in this book at all. Her character is a waste of words.

Molly McAdams is amazing..... This is just a fact and thank you Molly for giving us Liam and healing our hearts just a little! Trusting Liam is a follow up to Taking Chances and gives us a chance to visit with all our friends from it as well as Forgiving lies. It keeps with the smart and funny feel of all of Molly's story but still feels different and new. I think reading this as a stand alone would be fine but reading the other stories first really adds to this and some jokes will make you crack up a little harder that way.

Awww, Liam... This book made me teary in parts. I miss Chase so much, my heart clinches when they talk about him. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to make it though, but I did. And I'm so glad I pushed through.

Sweet. Enjoyed the tying in of families and characters from other books. Mostly this read was just ok for me. Pleased with the epilogue. :)
