When the quarters Arthur has collected for Mrs. MacGrady's charity drive mysteriously disappear, Arthur's friend Buster commits himself to proving Arthur's innocence
Marc Tolon Brown is perhaps best known for his series of children's books about Arthur the aardvark, which was turned into an animated television show on PBS. Brown is a three-time Emmy Award winner, for his role on the television show inspired by his books.
He lives on Martha's Vineyard and in New York City with his wife, Laurie Krasny Brown. He has three children, sons Tolon and Tucker, and daughter Eliza. The names of his two sons have been hidden in all of the Arthur books except for one: Arthur's Tooth.
This book uses a detective/noir-ish framework to let the reader know what has happened each chapter and what to expect or look for. I didn't mean to read the whole thing, but it was a pretty good yarn.
Some funny parts. The ending could have been more fleshed out, given that I was left wondering about some details of the case. Overall, an enjoyable read but nothing terribly thought-provoking.
Reading this, I was hit with a wave of nostalgia. Arthur was a favourite show for me growing up, and I loved reliving one of my favourite episodes in chapter book form.
My little guy loved the mystery and reading about a couple of his favourite characters.
Bought this book just because I love watching Arthur and I read it to my cats! Honestly it was soo good and just like the episode. I could imagine it all in my head. But the best part is there are extra scenes in this that are not in the episode and it just adds to it! Definitely read to find it!
A pleasant surprise, a fun, well-written mystery with Arthur and Buster. Just like the titles ays, Arthur is accused of stealing a bag of quarters meant for a fundraiser. Can Buster prove Arthur's innocence before Arthur is assigned detention?

A humorous tale about the theft of some charity money and Buster's investigation into the incident. Brown does a fine job showing Buster's humorous self-delusion about his detective ability.
