A captivating blend of crime, evil, and a man collecting young women…This is Detective Steve Campbell’s second case since moving to Ketchum, and it involves missing friends kidnapped a month apart.

Unfortunately, there is little evidence for him to follow, but he asks Officer Graham to search cold cases with similarities, and they find the case that may have been the start of something sinister.

With more information at hand, one name keeps popping up; Jack Haskins. Now all they have to do is find the girls in Jack’s house of horrors.

But what they find is something Detective Steve Campbell could never imagine in all the years he’s been working.

“This place is a house of horrors…”

After drowning my kindle in a hot tub yesterday (💔), I went for an emergency Asda trip and picked this one up at random… and oh my god! Fast paced, suspense, gore, chilling… it had everything and I loved it! Couldn’t put it down 👏🏻

This book has the potential to be very good. The story was interesting and the narrative style was good. However, this was the most poorly edited book I’ve ever read. It was full of sentence fragments and typos. It’s like the author published the first draft without even reading through it again. Additionally, it was full of British phrases, even though the book supposedly took place in Idaho. The dialogue was also oddly formal. I’m from Idaho, and I can tell you that people do not talk that way.

Writers, please, for the love of God, hire a copy editor!

A good idea,but!

The precept of the story was good but it's a pity that it wasn't written by a better author. Too many grammatical errors for a so-called best selling author. The total story was disjointed and hard to follow as the chapters jumped back and forwards on the timeline of several characters. A pity, as this could have been a good psycho thriller. Clumsy and amateurish. Did anyone bother to proof read it before going to print?

Very interesting read

This is another book that jumps back and forth from past to present. Jack is one sick puppy! I didn't fully understand the meaning of the keys. Don't want to give a spoiler alert. Once you get used to the back and forth the book flows really well. Jack is all about his keys and how to get more. Will definitely be reading more in this series.

My Review:

If you like creepy crime stories... This one will be right up your alley.

Someone is killing young females, and its deranged...
Detective Steve Campbell is new to the force, and the town, and now he has been thrown into a nightmare of epic proportions.

Nightmare worthy story and I can't wait to see where the author takes us next.

Surprised outcome

Enjoyed the suspense of catching the killer and seeing it from his viewpoint. Events at the end were surprising. Look forward to reading another book from this author.

The Last Girl

The guys mental problems showed up at an early age. All the classic signs hurting animals then peers and on to adults.
An interesting psychological and suspenseful book. The female protagonist Kate does some pretty stupid stuff that wouldn’t happen in reality.

A really good read.

It's an unusual book because you realize quite early on who the perpetrator is. But don't be fooled, there is still plenty to keep you interested and some unexpected twists. I thoroughly enjoyed this great book.

Great read

The storyline was very good and kept the interest throughout. The beginning was a little hard to fathom whilst the chapters went back and forth, once the characters were defined it was intriguing till the end.

Very graphic novel. Author had to be a little nuts to write it. Pretty good but wow!

Horrifying

So you were treated badly as a young kid. Why does that mean you become a monster as an adult? This man gives new meaning to the term "messed up."
