The definitive book on Tasha Tudor's art with more than 150 of her finest paintings & drawings culled from 10,000 pieces of art & an informative biographical text. This retrospective look at Tasha Tudor's art is the culmination of Harry Davis' work of the past decade, recording the observations & compiling the art of the renowned author & illustrator. The book includes well-known as well as lesser-known images. Drawing from thousands of pieces that Tudor has produced over her long career, Davis has chosen the best examples - some well-known, some never before published - which he illuminates through his accompanying text.
The most magical Christmas book you'll ever come across. My suggestion is to read this book slowly, pour over the glorious, glowing pages while sitting in front of a warm fire and sipping a toasty warm mug of spiced cider or hot chocolate. That is what I did this year and every single minute was bliss!
The full-color (and, often, full page) photographs are stunning and the snippets of Tasha Tudor's life mixed with holiday preparations are what Christmas dreams are made of. It almost feels as if you have stepped into Tasha Tudor's Corgi Cottage on a chilly winter day in Vermont. This beautiful book completely immerses you into her world and more deeply with each page.
You'll learn about her yearly family traditions, cooking making and Christmas baking, how she chose her Christmas tree and every detail of its decoration. Your eyes will sparkle with delight and your tummy will rumble with hunger. I loved the overall quiet and peaceful tone of the book highlighted by the warm, candlelit photos. Even more special were the illustrations and story extracts from her hard-to-find books,"Becky's Christmas" and "Snow Before Christmas."
If you're wishing to rekindle a long-lost sense of Christmas magic, just pick up this book and start reading. You'll be utterly enchanted and left with a glowing heart and a sense of joyful wonder.
It wouldn't be Christmas if I didn't read through my old copy of Forever Christmas Tasha Tudor. I fell in love with her corgi drawings eons ago. She was a true character living self-sufficiently with her animals and garden and no electricity. The book takes you through her preparations for Christmas and the holiday. It's a great read but the drawings and photos are priceless. Merry Christmas.
I always enjoy the fun Tasha Tudor seemed to have in all the things she did. A really amazing creative woman who kept her inner child alive and well. This book covers her Christmas traditions beautifully.
I had NO idea what I had ordered with this book. I love Tasha Tudor's artwork & books so imagine my great surprise to see a book full of an albeit adorable little old lady, Tahsa Tudor in person, gracing most of the pages of this book. I think it's a sweet tribute by Harrid Davis & the photographer, who must have known creative Ms Tudor very well to be invited to photograph her in her own home.
Sadly I don't own this book, but I do take it out of the library every year around Christmas to flip through. She's so great! I love that she would write letters to her children from the dolls in their doll-house. Reminds me of Tolkein's letters to his kids from Santa.
A wonderful look at how Tasha Tudor celebrated Christmas at Corgi Cottage. Her century-old traditions are lovingly photographed and further enhanced by illustrations and quotations from her Christmas art and books.
This is really a Tasha Tudor Christmas book. Genesis got it for me, and I have to read it every Christmas, and then wish that she (both of them) lived next door.
A beautiful book that shows us that sometimes the simplest of traditions are the best. Also, joy can be found in the act of doing something not just in the result.
