Having just read a book with no plot, this book has too many plots. When even your main character is complaining about being dragged into another “impenetrable plot” you might have a problem. Honestly, there’s a bunch of dolls, a sinister old man, a sinister fish? And that’s just the first chapter. My brain has had enough of trying to remember what’s going on.

book 5 delivers!

There’s been such a build to to all of these God, chips, enemies, allies ghouls. This started with a bang and ended with an even bigger bang. The battles were epic, the information/ explanations were mind blowing and the snarky arguments between the talking pig and everyone else were hilarious

The magic and world are keeping me going--the characters seem to get less and less nuanced each book. Even the main character has evolved into a blunt, arrogant dictator, enforcing his will through power displays alone. And the core team has turned into shallow people, too.

I'll keep going to see the end of the plot.

I received a review copy of this book.
The Goldenblood Heir is book 5 in this series, and while it's a great continuation to the series, some folks might be wondering when the author is going to get the lead out, and move along.I can't answer that, but the story is progressing, and near the end of this one, we see some interesting developments that should make things in the next book. If you enjoy the series, then keep reading. If you're wondering how long it will be before we find out the whole background of the world, and what's going on, I can't answer that question, but the story sure looks like it's going to get real interesting real soon if the end of this book is any indication.

On the first read: DNF @8% just too weird for me.

A year later, I started this series over. I'm basically just skim-reading because the author is entirely too long winded and the story is constantly sidelined by long bouts of exposition and pointless Battle Porn.
