Drake has secured his manor and his people’s loyalty. Now, it’s time to go on offense.
Confronted with a mandatory summons from the capital city, Drake reluctantly takes his new manor on the road. Now protected by his loyal battle maids, his fierce zarovian soldiers, and his powerful new rarity, he’ll face evil assassins, clueless bounty hunters, and ruthless mercenaries on his way to a council with manor lords who hope to remove him from power.
Yet with the help of his loyal steward, his savvy butler, and a surprisingly bloodthirsty fellow manor lord, Drake will challenge those who seek to unseat him with rumor and doublespeak.
Through careful negotiation, well-placed deceptions, and sheer unmitigated chutzpah, Drake must strip away the layers of the conspiracy that threatens him and secure his role as a manor lord no other will challenge... and a ruler even the powerful noble court must respect.
The second volume of a humorous, adventure-packed Progression Fantasy featuring cat girls, battle maids, political machinations, and a habit of setting the worst Isekai tropes on fire and tossing them in the garbage.
There is a lot here that is good with this book series. It’s certainly different from anything I’ve read before. The story with its many mysteries will keep pulling you along until the very end. However, the main character’s arrogance, privilege, and ability to annoy even Jesus, will almost force you to quit reading the book. So, be warned. The author seems to be aware of just how far he can push the readers before we quit his book. Because of that, I only gave this book 3 stars… I don’t like being manipulated this way. But I still give him credit for a unique story.
I’m really enjoying this series I love the characters and the whole world building. This is such an enjoyable take on superpowers and I love how the mc gets around the whole op but not op thing it scratches all the right spots. Also can i thank the author for not making this a harem and the romance is insignificant the flirting is a great interaction but I love that nothing is set in stone I can’t wait for the next one.
Yep after a slow start to book one and getting through an intrigued plot line I thought I would give book two a bash, now we have more plots more fighting suspense and just who can be trusted and who can not, this story arc felt like going down hill on a rollercoaster before you get to that next fast part in book 3 which I will be buying after the ending in this book as more questions have to be asked and answered.
This is my first non litrpg book in quite a while. The the overarching plot from the first book that continued on into the second book ended in a way that I was just shocked. It was however something that I think the readers will really enjoy. Now I'm off to the third book because the ending ending of this book just blew my mind.
This is some of the best writing in any genre,I have read!!! You will feel like you've been teleported to another world from the beginning and wrapped up in the characters lives!!! Keep them coming!!!
This second installment is better, fleshing out the world the hero finds himself in. The villain’s reminds me of 50s and 60s tv plot lines. Not a thing wrong with that but …
Another good effort. Still well written and only a spellchecker typo or two. All in all a good boom with an excellent epilogue. I wish more authors could end a book like this.
This is a worthy addition to this very entertaining series. The author keeps you guessing while the action keeps you on edge. Twists and turns right up till the end. Looking for the next in this series with high expectations.
Lord Gloomwood continues to be beset with enemies and assasssins. His glib tongue and snarky attitude help him deal with the situation. I like the action and humor. I look forward to next book.
