She opens The Laughing Loaf Bakery, hires a young assistant, and strives to fit in with her new, very different community and its quirky traditions. The book includes an actual prize winning chili cookoff recipe!

"Stop, Drop And Roll" is a short story in the "Laughing Loaf Bakery" series by Victoria Kazarian. The story takes place six months after Gracie, who along with her dad and her dog are in the witness protection program. A suspicious fire destroys the 1986 Chili Box which contained the prize winning recipe that no one has been able to beat since. Gracie is still learning about the people, traditions and history of her new town but quickly gets involved to solve the mystery of who wanted to destroy the recipe and why.
This was a fun quick read and a great introduction to a delicious and witty series!
This book was written between books 3 and 4, but it’s definitely a prequel for the series and a good introduction to the key town characters. Gracie did something really nice for her new town and a sweet old man who’d been chili cookoff champ since 1986. The book took place six months after she’d arrived in River Grove and I’m sure being in on this incident gave her more of a sense of belonging than anything else. I’m really hoping for a book 5.
Who would set fire to the recipe for the Chili cook-off in River Grove. A fire is set to a box containing the recipe for the 1986 Chili cook-off winner. Which no.one has ever beaten. Gracie investigates and the clues all fall into to place. Loved the ending.
Thanks you for the last book in the Laughing Loaf Bakery series. I enjoyed the different people in small town. The books were easy to read and held my interest. I will check out the other books Victoria has written. Robert Ericksen
