In the first book ‘The War God’s favorite’ we were introduced to the Dragon Empire, the royal family that ruled there and the dragons that lived there. I really loved that story, so I was really excited about the next story in the series. My expectations were high for this one! The second story ‘The white knight’s favorite’ takes place in the Eastern Kingdom, a neighboring country of the Dragon Empire. The Eastern Kingdom is a country broken and ruined caused by the years of rule of a tyrannical leader, a war against the Dragon Empire and internal conflict between the many different tribes living there. The population lives in poverty and fear. Prince Ashen, the White King, is now the new ruler but he’s young and the many tribes and dangerous bandits make it hard for the young king to lead the kingdom to a peaceful future. The hope is that having a wife at his side will help bring more stability to the country. The tribes each nominate a candidate from their tribe but to their surprise there’s another participant, a princess from the Dragon Empire. Will this princess bring peace and heal the country and the broken heart of the White King?
Just like the first book, this was another BIG book (with more than 600 pages) and I enjoyed every page. This author really knows how to hold my attention for a very long time and even left me wanting more after finishing it. The main female character in this story was princess Cessilia (or Cessi like everyone called her). Cessi was the eldest daughter of Cassandra and Prince Kairen (the main characters in the first book). Although most of the characters in this story were new, there were some familiar faces in this story as well. I was happy to learn how the Dragon Empire and the royal family were doing so many years later. So in that context I would recommend that you start this series with the first book.
There were many main characters in this story, you had princess Cessi, her niece Tessa, their (new) friend Naptunie (Nana), Nana’s older brother Sabael and the white king Ashen. In the first part of the story, Ashen stayed more in the background. It was the other characters that really supported the story. Ashen remained a mysterious and grumpy character for a long time. We didn’t really get to know him until much later in the story. Because of this, it took me some time to really connect with him. I didn’t really understand Cessi’s fascination with him until secrets were revealed and I got to know him better. I liked him more at the end of the story. I realized that he suffered a lot from a young age and had a great sense of responsibility. Yes, he could be hot-tempered and ruthless at times, but he had a good heart (which he hid well). He was open to Cessi’s ideas and advise.
Cessi was a shy girl and due to a tragic event in the past, she had a large scar and a stutter. Therefore, most people considered her as weak but she was strong, intuitive, intelligent and caring. I really liked her. Just like her mother, she was interested in medicine and herbs, but thanks to her father she could also fight. It was wonderful to see Cessie connect with the people of the Eastern Kingdom in her own quiet, serene way. How she treated everyone with respect. Cessi’s two older brothers also played a role in the story. The bond between Cessie and her brothers was loving, supportive and loyal (the same can be said for the rest of the family members).
Cessi’s niece was also an interesting character. She was the opposite of Cessi. She was short-tempered, loud, a bit wild but also very protective of Cessi. They weren’t only nieces but also best friends.
Their friend Nana was very intelligent, knowledgeable and friendly (she knew everyone). She loved to read and had a thirst for knowledge. She wanted to learn everything. She gave Cessi great advice. And just like Cessie, she was also underestimated by most people.
Just like in the first story, there were dragons. I love them, they’re fascinating creatures, each with their own unique character.
I don’t want to give away too much of the story, some things you just have to discover for yourself. But I can say that the story was told from many POV’s. The story was entertaining (some scenes had me laugh), at times it was emotional (especially some scenes between Cessi and Ashen), there was action (there were frequent fights and deaths and they weren’t all the fault of the dragons!) and there were also a few sex scenes in the story. The story wasn’t perfect (just like the first book), I found some details a bit confusing. Like the age different between Cessi and Ashen and the names of the many different tribes/families.
But overall, I really liked this story (although book one is still my favorite). I will definitely reread this story in the future.

The author is a graphomaniac and the book could be twice as short but I still would like to read the third book.

Loved it!!
The book starts off slow, but don’t give up on it. Everything makes sense in the end. Jenny Fox does a great job at telling the story from the different characters’ point of view. Their character developments are amazing too! Featuring the characters from TWGF was a touch that I enjoyed. The book emphasizes the importance of believing in yourself, family, and being open to change. I enjoyed the way she highlighted the importance of acknowledging your trauma (if you have any) but not letting it define you. I couldn’t put this book down. Although, I would’ve liked to see more of how the other relationships progressed. Especially Darsan and Nana!

I really enjoyed this book, but I do think the first book was much better.
This book kind of drags a bit sometimes and I found myself skipping bits of dialogue just because it was long winded and repetitive.
The story is great and the world it's set in is 10/10 imo. I didn't think this would be too much different from the first book but it actually was quite unique and didn't just follow the same theme as the first. I love the dragons in this book whole heartedly.
The smut is minimal compared to the first book though 💔 saying that, I came for the smut and I'm staying for the story
Will be looking out for the 3rd book though because I love the world and the characters in it.

A beautiful story centered around a lost love, turmoil and conflict.
The White Kings’s Favorite kept me reading to see how Cessilia and Ashen love would survive so much danger to them. Cessilia is the War God’s oldest daughter who fell in love with Ashen when her father and brothers rescued him from near death by his father the King of the Eastern Kingdom. When the War God felt he was ready to go and conquer the Eastern Kingdom, he sent him home. But Cessilia tried to follow when she was captured and tortured which killed her dragon. Ashen still had so much turmoil in his country and the tribe leaders felt he needed a Queen. So they decided to have a competition. The senior counselor went to the Dragon Empire to ask for the princess to come for the competition. What the various tribes didn’t understand was Cessilia strength even though she had a stutter. She won over some of the tribe leaders when the kingdom was being flooded because of the storm and the people outside the capital was being drowned. Her brothers came to check on her when they found the kingdom was in a civil war. I enjoyed this story and how the humans interacted with the dragons. Cessilia dragon CeCe returned bigger and better. She was an ice dragon. Beautiful love story that I recommend reading. Can’t wait for Darsan and Nana’s story to come out and would love to see a story for Kassian and Bastat.

CURRENTLY ON HOLD...
At this point, I don't like this book as much as I did the first one.
The beginning of the book was good, I met the God of War and his family again, I found out what happened between the two books.
Unlike the previous one, this plot thread is slower and a bit more boring for me... The only thing I learned until now is the fact the main character couple love each other, but they feel they can't be together this or that reason... and guy as king have a mistress (as expected)... in the reviews some people are angry because of it, but in this story it's a natural thing just as in the old times... Men had a wife and many mistresses to have many heirs as possible and have as many sex as they wanted...
At this point, I don't like this book as much as I did the first one.

Getting close to Tolkien with her world building and being sucked into the characters.
There’s still a few times I feel like translations might have gotten crossed but overall this book is amazing! I can’t wait for the next one!
Hopefully, this series will never end.
I love that the women and men are both strong, in fighting, in love, in life and the characters are very much each their own.
In a lot of fantasy I’ve noticed the characters blend into one another.
In this book as with the first, each character is fully thought out, their own motivations, thoughts and actions.
By the end you could probably guess who said and did what without the author giving the name.

A breathtaking tale of dragons, a seaside castle, and a potential arranged marriage fit for a fairytale! This book swept me away with its rich world-building, where a towering kingdom stood against crashing waves, and dragons soared across the sky. The arranged marriage trope was beautifully executed, filled with tension, slow-burn romance, and unexpected twists that kept me turning the pages. The princess was a strong, compelling heroine, and the political intrigue and magical elements added so much depth to the story. If you love epic fantasy with royal drama, mythical creatures, and a dash of romance, this book is an absolute must-read!

Loved the character growth and world building.
As stated above, I enjoyed reading this book very much. The characters are interesting with a reasonable amount of growth for more than just the female and male protagonists. While the world is partially established from the first book, it still builds upon that with the new kingdom and their own issues that arise. Interested in seeing how book 3 turns out.

Well It’s different from the first book and it got me hooked just like the first book.
I love love how it’s clear so many of my questions from the 1st book ending
However I do find cassie is a little annoying in the last few chapters I wish she would be strong enough by that time and cut tie with everyone who did her wrong and not so long bluffing. I do laugh quite many in this book thanks to nana darsan and Tessa. Much less heat than the 1st book, I don’t really mind though.

For my taste to wordy sometimes 😭😭 ngl I skipped some of the descriptions and parts of dialogues that sometimes were more like monologues… but I have different standards for self published books so I still gonna review it quite high. I just wished we had more of Cessi’s family, especially her older brothers (and dragons, I want more dragons). Some plot holes as well, but other than that I devoured both parts in two days and had a lot of fun.

Selten eine so gut erzählte und durchdachte Geschichte gelesen! Aufmerksam geworden auf den ersten Teil bin ich über Plotfun, eine App, in der man Nobels lesen kann. Dort gab es ihn aber nur in deutsch.
Davon schon mehr als fasziniert fand ich über Google die englische Version bei Amazon und hab mir beide prompt ˋgekindelt´.

Better Than the First
I enjoyed this book more than the first one. So much more. I can’t describe really why but I did. Maybe because from the beginning Cassio wasn’t alone in the Eastern Kingdom, she had her cousin. Whereas Cassandra really had no one in the beginning and people were threatening her all the time.

Good book, not as good as the War Gods favourite. It could use some more spice like the first book. However good addition to the series. Same problem on Anystories. The book cost way to much. I paid 70 euros so i could finish it. Was not worth the price, but i had to finish what I started. I would rather say 3,5 than 4 but 3 is not enough.

Very, very good! I devoured it immediately after the first book, The War God's Favorite. The pacing/timeline in this sequel was a little difficult to keep up with at times. The writing was quite good but ended up becoming repetitive. Lots of "retorting". I still recommend reading it after the first book.

Another Amazing book from Jenny Fox!
I absolutely loved this book too after reading the War God’s Favorite. Jenny is such an amazing author whose characters are so well rounded. She includes other family members and other characters too. I’m looking forward to reading all her books. I highly recommend this author and series. You won’t be able to put it down either!

Loved the second instalment of this series, I originally thought it would follow the lead of the eldest Kassian but for it to follow the third child Cessi made a beautiful difference. I look forward to The Wild Prince’s Favourite and what new adventures will be held between the Dragon Empire and the Eastern Kingdom

I was so looking forward to this sequel and it did not disappoint! A long book but worth the read. We find out more history about the dragons and meet lots of new characters. This next generation has lots of struggles, but learn much and grow in their love. A sweet HEA!

Amazing story
Gripping world and perfect additional instalment to the last book. I want more of this world. The characters and the stories behind them are so perfectly written. It's a fantastic series.

This is the second installment of this series. Way less spice with only a few actual "sex scenes" in comparison to the first. Again, the storyline is good with dragons, royalty, drama and love. The writing is still just ok. I probably will NOT read the third book when it comes out.

Love the storyline
This story was a great second to the first. I love how they find the first story characters to this one and have updates on them, subtly, along with making you fall in love with the characters. What a fun series and I hope she releases the next one soon!!

I had high hopes for this one, it wasn't as impactful for me. This is probably because the setting is in the Eastern Kingdom and the story focuses on Ceci instead. I had hoped for a lot more Kairen and Cassie scenes. The highlight of this book was Krai lol

Great character growth and, just like the War God's Favorite, it is extremely engaging. It's hard to put down and the length gives us enough time to really invest in the story.

A lot of twist and turns, plus it doesn't tell you who is actually speaking so you have to go back and read it. But I do love the authors books and will continue to support them the story is very good

I liked it. Cant compare to the first book..they each have their very own strong storyline.
There were parts tho that took too long, noticed myself glancing over thr pages till i saw dialogues.
But all in all its a very good book.

A beautiful story. Highly recommended.
I thoroughly enjoyed the intriguing plot and character development in this saga. The twists and turns of family life made it all the more interesting.

The first book I loved every word. This book, I didn’t feel the same. I felt the first one was written for maybe for an older audience which I liked. I still enjoy the authors world building and I do like her characters.. I just felt this one wasn’t as epic as the first. So three stars. ⭐️
