I was very much in love with first book in Tattoo Thief series. From the first page to the last, I was captivated by Beryl and Gavin’s story. It's seems to be a long time since I read it, but it's almost impossible to forget characters like them. That made me glad and excited to be able to crack open Tyler and Stella’s story..



Let me start by saying I really liked this book. It sucked me right in from the start. Unfortunately, as likeable as both of characters were, I didn’t love them or cared for them so much as for Beryl and Gavin. I thought they were nice and theirs story was good, but not as epic as first installment of Tattoo Thief.

This story starts with Stella hurting her best friend Beryl by being untrustworthy and frankly quite a bitch. To finally start off her career as a music journalist with a bang, Stella stole a private video Gavin’s sent Beryl. Now, Stella is popular but she also almost lost her friend. To make things worse, Stella needs another great story or she can kiss her job goodbye.



Tyler is a another sexy member of Tattoo Thief. He promised Stella exclusive material for her next article. He can help her proof that she won’t break Beryl’s trust ever again. But what will happen if both of them share more than one or two newspaper’s pages?

Tyler was a great character who was not over the top but just enough for me to like him. Although he was not Gavin I can’t say I wasn’t smitten with him.



In the end, Tyler and Stella’s story was an easy nice read. A story about love, hope, friendship and redemption. This was one of those sweet romantic stories that make you smile. So, if you enjoy reading about sexy, mysterious yet incredibly charming rock star meeting the woman (that’s not perfect) of his life and fighting with obstacles for her, then I think this one will definitely work for you.

If you know me at all, you know that I absolutely do not even read male/female New Adult Romances any more. There are few authors that I will read now. When Heidi messaged me and asked if I could review her book I said yes, to be honest with some trepidation, for both of us. Only because my reading genre has changed and I totally didn’t want to short change Heidi, her book or her characters. It may have taken me a few days to finish it, but I enjoyed it! This book was a refreshing change.

Broken girl and good… (broken)…rocker boy.



Book 2 picks up right where Book 1 leaves off. Heidi’s writing style is refreshing, and with each book it just keeps getting better. To me book 2 was angstier, and I love angst. The pages of this book just flowed and you wanted to know what would happen next. It keeps you engaged. Tyler & Stella’s story is a great one.



This book will teach you that everyone has a past, everyone, but the past doesn’t define you. It is your present and your choices, your decisions of right and wrong that define you. That once you find it, you fight for it. Everyday. Congrats Heidi. Looking forward to more of your work!

Tyler & Stella is book two in Heidi Joy Tretheway’s Tattoo Thief series. It works perfectly well as a standalone. Something that happens in the first book plays an important role in this book but it’s fully explained in the early pages of Tyler & Stella.

If you’ve already read Tattoo Thief, like me, you’re probably not very enamoured of Stella. I knew that she was going to be a hard act to sell after the first book – after all she constantly let her best friend down and then completely betrayed her and sold her out and almost destroyed her relationship with Gavin, lead singer of Tattoo Thief. Stella, at first appearances, is NOT one of the good guys!

And, I will say, it did take me a long time to warm up to her. She’s ambitious, fairly sexually aggressive, hard-drinking and has a bit of a tough exterior – it’s hard to find anything warm about her really. But, if you look hard, underneath that brash exterior is a softer centre but it’s well hidden.

In contrast, Tyler at first appearances, seems to be a hard-edged, devil-may-care bad boy rockstar. He’s absolutely gorgeous and flirts fairly outrageously Stella in the early scenes – he appears to be living the rockstar dream. BUT, nothing could be further from the truth. He’s really quite a sensitive soul. Tyler has always been tall but he was skinny and gangly and only started to muscle out that 6 foot two frame just as the band hit the big time. After a lifetime of being shunned by girls, he’s suddenly been inundated with female attention, nearly all of it shallow, feckless and far, FAR too easy. Tyler is looking for something much deeper, much more meaningful and isn’t prepared to go for the casual hookup that Stella offers him up on a plate – he wants much more than that and is prepared to play the long game to get what he wants. He’s prepared to fight for it!

Tyler touches my lips with his index finger to stop my rush of words, the same electric touch I felt in our first cab ride together. “Not like that. I let that get out of hand and that wasn’t fair. This is all kind of new to me. This attention. But I want you to fight all this negative shit that keeps you running away from me. Fight to stay.”

I enjoyed this second outing with the gorgeous men of Tattoo Thief – Heidi Joy Tretheway seems to specialise in peeling back the layers of bad boy rockstars to find the real man beneath and they’re all contrasts between their outward appearances, their tabloid personas and their actual personalities. The real men beneath the bravado. So far Gavin and Tyler have proved to be gentle souls, very deep and with a lot of love to give and it’s great to catch up with Gavin and Beryl and see them so happy now.

Tyler and Stella give them a run for their money in the angst factor in this one as Stella has a lot to learn, a whole lot of behavior patterns and coping mechanisms to unlearn and all the time, Tyler patiently waits for the right time to push their relationship to the next level. He holds out, much to Stella’s frustration, for the longest time. There’s a fair few obstacles for these two to overcome with some shocks and drama to deal with and this turned out to be a real page turner.

We’re introduced to Violet who is to take centre stage in the next book along with Jayce who really does appear to be the epitome of a manwhore rockstar and I can’t wait to see how that one works out.

So, another great new adult rockstar romance from Heidi Joy Tretheway and if you liked Tattoo Thief, I think you’ll also love Tyler & Stella.

I really enjoyed the first book in the series 'Tattoo Thief'. The heroine (Beryl) was very strong and open-minded. Though the hero was hardly in it, I really didn't mind because of Beryl's awesome journey and her outlook on life.

I didn't like the heroine in this second book however, she starts off as a badly straight away and she never really won me over. As a journalist I wanted her to be either ruthless or compassionate. But she never felt very strong to me.

Tyler was sweet, incredibly down to earth, a tad shy - which made him adorable and charming without being cocky. He was a good man in general.

Overall the story was fine, what you usually expect from New Adult reads. It was a nice change of pace to have these incredibly down to earth rockers.

It's not going to be a favorite of mine. After reading it and having some time to process everything I can say that it was not as bad as I thought it was when I finished it. I even changed my original two star rating to a three.

Two things made me dislike the book and if you are fine with them when you will probably like the book. The first is a big NO from me and I am always disappointed when it happens. What is it? A betrayal from a friend. If that friend is your best friend than you are on my blacklist for at least a while. Stella betrays Beryl by making something known to the whole world that was very personal in order to bust up her career. She was lucky Beryl was so forgiving.

The second thing was Stella's drinking problem. I would have liked a warning that Stella was one step from becoming a serious alcoholic. She was downing tequila shots like it was water and while the others had finished one glass of their drink she was already semi-drunk. To get courage you drink one shot, not 5. That girl must need a new liver by now. She should be grateful that Tyler helped her.

As you probably already got I didn't like Stella. Tyler seemed ok most of the time. I wanted to see what was on his mind, but the story is only being told form Stella's point of view. How frustrating was that!

Every year I try and make it a goal of mine to clear some old books off my devices and also readers of my review and blog will know that I am horrendous at reading books in order, so if a series can be read as a stand-alone that suits me better. It's not that I ever mean to read them out of order, it just happens. This is a series that I read the other books years ago and now finally in 2020, I have gotten around to finishing the series. This book starts off with friends Beryl and Stella out partying and celebrating Beryl's birthday when Beryl gets a video from Gavin. Stella needs something great at work as her stories lately have been a bit blaise. So she steals the video, not thinking of the consequences for Beryl. Stella is then invited by Gavin to the band's meeting where she is made to apologize to Beryl. Here she meets Tyler and the pair chat and Tyler invites her over for a "story". Turns out he just wanted to get her away from Gavin. This is where we first read the chemistry sizzling between the pair and soon Stella wants to write nothing about the band which results in her job loss and then eventually she has nowhere to go. Tyler offers her a bed and soon she moves in and we see this relationship starting to blossom. We also meet Violet and catch glimpses of Willa's work in this book - they are whom the next two books are about. When Tyler is caught up in a scandal and ends up in the hospital -this part brought back memories of my mother and the way her diabetes worked when her blood sugars got too high or too low. Stella's love for Tyler will be put to the test as will she stands by him despite the accusations and rumors? Find out in Book #2 of the Tattoo Thief Series - one of the best Rockstar musician series I have read.

Non pensavo che il secondo potesse piacermi più del primo ma invece succede. Una storia bellissima che ci insegna che la fama e il successo arrivano sempre con un prezzo, che non sempre siamo disposti a pagare.


Stella Ramsey ha sempre detto che i cattivi ragazzi non possono spezzarti il cuore. Non chiamano, non ti fanno le coccole e non mandano fiori – ma cosa ti aspetti? Per Stella, nessun legame significa nessun rimpianto. Quando la più grande storia della sua carriera scombinata da giornalista musicale quasi rovina completamente la sua relazione con la sua migliore amica, Stella ha una possibilità di redimersi. Quando leggi mucchi e mucchi di storie d’amore è facile incorrere in flop clamorosi, in storie che ti lasciano sempre con quella sorta di amaro in bocca perché non come te le aspettavi. Anche quando non hai molte aspettative e vuoi solo una storia romantica, pure potresti leggere delle storie fotocopia. Eppure la Tretheway riesce a creare una storia convincente e passionale, che strizza l’occhio ai temi classici della romance e poi la sconvolge con dettagli che non avresti mai immaginato.
Anche in questo caso è la protagonista femminile che racconta la storia con le sue mancanze e frustrazioni e con la sua parte di verità ed è un resoconto parziale, ma allo stesso tempo completo, perché è prima di tutto di Stella, di chi è e cosa vuole, la storia di come si redime e di come capisce che finora ha vissuto a metà. La storia torna un po’ indietro, dagli ultimi capitoli del primo volume, per regalarci proprio la prospettiva di Stella sull’atto che avrebbe dovuto farle fare un avanzamento di carriera e invece l’ha solo portata a dubitare di sé stessa e mandato in frantumi una delle poche relazioni stabili della sua vita. Stella è una ragazza segnata, che cerca in qualunque modo di cancellare il passato. La maggior parte del tempo trascorre nel tentativo di reinventarsi e con il suo lavoro di critica musicale di terz’ordine e il suo modo di fare con l’altro sesso che la porta ad immergersi in storie passeggere e superficiali che la lasciano scossa, incredula e desiderosa di passare alla prossima. Con una naturale predilezione per la vodka che consuma sia per coraggio che per stordirsi, Stella è arrivata ad un punto in cui le cose non possono continuare così. Con una sistemazione provvisoria a casa di un collega e i sensi di colpa per quello che ha combinato a Beryl, la sua migliore amica, Stella deve trovare un modo per rimediare. Quello che non aveva preso in considerazione è l’apparizione di Tyler, il bassista della famosissima band “The Tattoo Thief” che fornisce il pretesto per salvare la sua faccia con il capo, ma allo stesso tempo gli regala molto altro.
Tyler infatti non è il classico bad boy, quelli che Stella è abituata a dare la caccia, Tyler mostra il vero volto di chi nella musica ci crede e ci mette tutto sé stesso. Considerando che è il frontman il membro del gruppo che riceve più attenzioni, Tyler è il pacifista, colui che interviene per sedare gli animi, ma non ha meno bravura degli altri. Sono molti i segreti che si porta dietro, che veniamo a conoscere nel corso della lettura ma in un certo qual modo si mostra subito per quello che è. All’apparenza solo un bell’imbusto tatuato, con un fisico da urlo ma ne viene fuori un ritratto tenerissimo, in cui Tyler è timido e insicuro, con la propensione a prendersi cura di tutti tranne che di sé stesso e quella giusta quantità di sexyness che lo rendono molto molto swoonworthy… insomma un uomo che riesce a conquistare dalla prima apparizione, e a cui non si può dire di no. Dagli slanci generosi improvvisi, gli sguardi di fuoco che farebbero sciogliere qualsiasi cuore, anche il più freddo riesce a guadagnarsi la fiducia di Stella, che pure lo guarda con stupore e indifferenza. Le cose non sono semplici, per nessuno dei due. Entrambi devono scoprire che cosa significa davvero mettersi in gioco e imparare ad amarsi per quello che sono, con pregi e difetti, errori e scelte giuste, perché in fondo è questa la vita vera. Un continuo compromesso con noi stessi, per non soccombere, per non lasciarci vincere dalla disperazione. È normale commettere degli errori, fidarsi delle persone sbagliate, ma è sempre importante credere nelle seconde occasioni, nell’impegnarsi quotidianamente al porre rimedio lì dove si era toppato a cercare sempre di fare la cosa giusta. E a volte ci vuole un po’ di sano egoismo, perché se non stiamo bene noi, non possiamo aiutare neanche gli altri. La cosa bellissima di questo libro, non è tanto la storia d’amore, che pure ha momenti magici ed è veramente molto ben concepita, ma il fatto che si parli degli aspetti negativi della fama, di problemi seri senza scadere nel banale, ma senza essere bacchettoni e riconoscere sempre l’importanza delle parole e delle azioni. I fatti prima delle storie, le affermazioni reali dai racconti dei giornalisti, i fatti vissuti contro le improvvisazioni di qualche scribacchino. E un crescere continuamente. La Trethway poi è straordinaria nel suo stile semplice ma efficace, con una narrazione che non lascia spazio a dubbi e regala sempre tantissimo.
Le vicende si svolgono a New York, in piena estate, con il 4 luglio e i festeggiamenti per l’indipendenza e il ritorno sulle scene dei The Tattoo Thief che non perdono occasione di mostrare il loro vero volto e la loro proverbiale bravura da rock band.

Il particolare da non dimenticare? Delle tende arancioni…

In uscita il 20 febbraio, questa è una serie da non lasciarsi scappare, tra concerti e appuntamenti disastrosi, prove e false partenze, che regala delle storie d’amore passionali e indimenticabili, in piena scena, ma allo stesso tempo con momenti molto intimi e commoventi, che regalano moltissimo al lettore. Una storia che vi sconvolgerà e che apre il cuore, con due protagonisti da ricordare.

Tyler & Stella just met and the circumstances are not great. Stella was asked to dinner by Gavin to apologize to Beryl for betraying her. Gavin wants Beryl to forgive Stella but Stella is ashamed of releasing the "Wilderness" video Gavin sent to Beryl as a private moment.

Stella reveals her secret to Beryl in order to win some trust points back in her favor. Beryl is still unsure but decides to still be her friend and work on building the trust back up.

Stella is a mess. Stella hates: her job, her boss, her homeless situation, her meager bank account, and she hates the non-boyfriend situation. Stella thought that no strings attached bad boys were the way to go but after meeting Tyler she is rethinking that way of life. Stella is also needs to be heading towards an AA meeting soon.

Stella will be officially homeless in less than a week when her borrowed room is taken back by Violet. Her boss is demanding another juicy story on Tattoo Thief to follow-up the video and Stella is doing her damnedest to not betray anyone in Tattoo Thief or among their friends and family.

Tyler tells her at dinner that he will give her an interview about their practice space with some conditions. Stella agrees to Tylers demands and they head to the space after dinner. Stella is drinking her feelings away and feeling pretty good when Tyler shows her his place and the practice area. Stella throws herself at Tyler and then feels rejected when he tells her NO.

Tyler is not sure if he can trust Stella and has to make sure before anything more happens between them. Tyler also is a relationship guy. He wants one person and only that person. Tyler does not jump from girl to girl or bed to bed like some of the other guys in the band. Stella does not feel that she deserves anyone to care for her or to love her but Tyler says, "We never get what we deserve. Only what we earn. And some grace, and some luck."

Tyler also has a secret and does not tell Stella even after he asks her to be completely honest with him and not to hold back. Tyler asked her to be "all in" but still will not trust her with his secret. The go to the Spider-Man premier together where Stella is bombarded with questions about Tyler's secret. Now Stella puts the pieces together and tries to cover the best she can and not give the reporters anything good to report about. Tyler asks Stella to forgive him for not telling her sooner but he was hoping that the problem would sort itself out and there would be nothing to tell.

Tyler and Stella show us that no matter what happened in your past, that the future is not set. We can change our path, we can forgive, we are worthy of love, we can trust, we can ask for help, we can grow and we can start fresh with a new beginning.

I admit that I feel that I related better to this book than book #1. I liked Tattoo Thief but I love the chemistry between Stella and Tyler. I love that Tyler wants to go slow and really be sure of the relationship status before they dive in. And Stella being opposite and wanting to just give into her desire without thought. I like that Tyler is not your typically ROCK STAR and wants to be in a relationship and not the BAD BOY but the very sweet, caring, even loving rock star. I like that it is tormenting Stella to take it slow but she does in order to get what she wants and what she wants is TYLER. I also really like how Stella tries to re-start her life with the saying "She flies with her own wings". That is a great quote to remember and perfect for Stella's character.

Jayse and Violet's story will be next. No final release date as of yet. But I will snatch it up as soon as it becomes available. It should be a good one with Jayse's man whoring ways and Violet seeming very shy.

Tyler & Stella is the second book in the Tattoo Thief series, but it can be read as a standalone. It starts just a bit before where Tattoo Thief left off, but giving us things from Stella's perspective this time. This was very helpful to not only give readers of Tattoo Thief a reminder of where Stella was at the end (and what she had done), but also brings new readers up to speed. So Tyler & Stella can easily be enjoyed by new and old readers to the Tattoo Thief series. And if you enjoy Tyler & Stella, then perhaps you'll then want to pick up Tattoo Thief and get Gavin and Beryl's story, too.

As for the writing of Tyler & Stella, I can honestly say I enjoyed this one so very much. I liked it more than Tattoo Thief, and could really see the author's growth in her writing, character development, and dialogue. This was one of those books I had a difficult time putting down. Not only do we get an interesting storyline, but the characters are well fleshed-out and make you instantly want to know them. We also get a nice group dynamic, which is one thing I love in a series. The story is centered around Tyler and Stella, but we get more of Gavin and Beryl, along with the other band members and their great camaraderie (there are some wonderful male-bonding moments).

As for main characters, I loved Tyler. Absolutely loved him! It was so refreshing to read about a male character that's not your standard "bad boy." The author revealed his character really well, slowly letting us get to know Tyler. There were certain things I figured out about Tyler right away, but that made me appreciate the author's research into him and care with the way she treated him even more. Now for Stella, I didn't really like her in Tattoo Thief, so at the beginning I was really unsure about her. What I appreciated was the way the author revealed who Stella was deep inside. Stella had a rough journey of realization, reflection, trust, and integrity to face. Watching her grow throughout the novel and the way she was eventually able to handle herself was terrific, and she really grew on me. And then watching the relationship between Tyler and Stella play out felt honest and tangible. They were so sweet together, even when they didn't understand each other, and you could feel the deep connection they had to one another. I really liked them.

As for the story, this isn't just a simple boy meets girl romance. This is really the story of two people facing down their pasts. Pasts that hold not only their own mistakes, but the thoughtlessness and cruelty of others, as well as the things in life we have no control over. Yet through it all they must make choices to hide and suffer, or to grow and live. And they must decide what kind of life they want to live, and if the vulnerability in love is worth it. Watching Tyler and Stella grow and change and embrace their lives and love, learning to forgive and be forgiven, learning to trust and hope again, was really a beautiful thing.

Overall, I loved Tyler and Stella's journey of vulnerability, forgiveness, hope, and love. Their story is well-written, with just the right amounts of angst, mystery, friendship, sincerity, heat, love, and the beauty of new beginnings. It is a refreshing addition to the New Adult genre.

Gahhh where can I start? I have been super excited for Stella's story since I knew Heidi was going to write it! I couldn't wait to see what she had to say for herself and get inside her head and see if she was a horrible person or not. And I am so glad, because I love her! poor girl has so much going on in her life and has been through hell and back, stuff even her best friend Beryl had no idea about! and she meets bad boy Tyler and they seem to hit it off and he gives her and exclusive. Things don't go smoothly though, both these characters have trust issues and for differen't reasons. Tyler and Stella have a rocky start and many miss understandings. She seems to think Tyler is not interested in her and Tyler is trying to figure out if she is another groupie or something more. These two are epic UGH!! seriously. Tyler is not your typical "bad boy rocker" he is sweet, caring, charming, he is so much more and I LOVED HIM, I NEED one of him! I loved the first book and Gavin and Beryl, but this time around was even better. The characters were so much better, the story was, Heidi has grown and will continue to grow as a writer and I cannot wait to read Violet and Jayce's story next! if you loved the first Tattoo Thief you will fall in love with this romantic and epic book of awesomeness! let me just tell you Tyler Walsh is my new favorite rock star. And everyone knows how much I love rock stars ;-) he even gives Kellan Kyle a run for his money this story ;-)

What a fantastic sequel to Tattoo Thief (Gavin & Beryl)!! I thought I loved the first book, but this book was just as good, if not better!! There is a slight overlap with the first book and I loved seeing both sides to the story. But in Tyler & Stella’s book the sexual tension is high, almost from the beginning and has both characters conflicted! It was a sizzling and electrifying read and I cannot wait for more in this series!!

Stella betrayed Beryl in the previous book and I enjoyed seeing Stella's perspective to the incident. She regretted a lot of her decisions about how it all unfolded. But she is willing to work hard to mend those bridges with Beryl and earn some respect from the band, Tattoo Thief. To do so Stella spends time with Tyler, trying to work a new angle and get redemption for what she has done. She tries to act on the growing chemistry between herself and Tyler, but he is full of mixed signals.

Stella, I was a bit annoyed with after the first book, but after getting her point of view, I was able to warm up to her quickly. She had her share of heartache early in life and has re-evaluated her life once before. She has had a passion for music since she was younger and now she reports about it. She is having a rough time in New York and hoped Tattoo Thief would get her out of her slump.

Tyler is a really sweet guy; he comes across as a bad boy, but he is more the opposite. He sees the good in most people and he keeps the band together. But his secret keeps Stella at arms length. You can see that he cares for her and will be her knight in shining armour when needed, but something is holding him back. Because of the secrets that each character has, they find it hard to trust and open up to each other and they fight a war of emotions that neither of them knows what to do with.

This book was a lot saucier than the first book and there is a lot of sexual tension between Tyler & Stella. There are a number of sizzling scenes that had me squirming. Who would think a piece of ice could be so erotic *wink*

Again, I enjoyed Heidi’s writing style and how each book is so different. Beryl was more chirpy and confident, where Stella is a bit more reserved and you can see that in her writing. I liked getting to know the band members better as well in Stella’s book, because they weren't in the first book until late. I am really looking forward to the next book in the series, Jayce and Violet – The playboy looks like he will settle down… Annnnd I have insider knowledge… The cover is HAWT!! *fist pump*

I will forever be impressed/in awe/envious of Heidi Joy Tretheway for her writing skills. Anyone who can take a character who was the villain in book #1 and make them complex, interesting and sympathetic in book #2, earns my praise and respect.

Let me explain.

I read Gavin & Beryl: Tattoo Thief #1 and sent Heidi a message telling her how much I enjoyed it. It is one of those books I didn’t want to end. Just before I reached the end, I saw a message from Heidi asking if I wanted to read Tattoo Thief #2. I was beyond excited, but then I read the synopsis and my heart dropped.

Without giving away to much, at the end of #1, one of the characters in the book named Stella did not come off well. She did something awful, hurtful and beyond forgivable. So, when I found out she was the main character in #2, I thought, what is Heidi doing?

Well, I am so glad this unexpected turn of events didn’t dissuade me from reading the book. Book #2 is just as interesting, exciting, sad, empowering and sexy as book #1. I was hooked from the first page. I didn’t fall in love with Stella, but I hoped for her transformation and throughout the book, you had no idea whether it would happen or not.

But, the star of the book was Tyler; tattoo’ed and talented, with a hero’s heart (sorry for the alliterations). He made me want to be his friend and take care of him. His story had me guessing and I was 100% satisfied with the results.

I recommend you read the books in order, but you don’t have to. Heidi has a special talent for writing about couples who at first don’t seem to fit, but in the end, you can’t imagine them not being together.

I loved this story. I connected to it so much quicker than Beryls story for some reason. Right from the get to I was in and in deep. I couldn't get enough. When it seemed like Tyler was playing her on the facts vs story, my heart broke with hers. But then when he would pull her back in and flirt with her, my belly did flip flops. I felt like I was going back and forth. Is he a good guy or player. I couldn't figure out who the true player was. Then everyone was dropping hints to be careful. And I'm like what the heck. I knew it had to be something. Then when he showed her what was the issue it all made sense. And when he started to show his true colors like at the concert, I started to really swoon for all things Tyler. He saves her. In more than one way. And the best part of this story. . She does the same thing right back to him. I think Tyler and Stella are the perfect fit. But I was so afraid she wouldn't remember the warnings she was given. So afraid. Heidi joy writes this story in a way that has your so wrapped up in pulling for these two, everything else fades away and all you can think about is how you can get these two to stay together. How can they see the love the other person has for them. So awesome. Such a good book. Well done. I give it 4.5 hearts

Stella has hurt her best friend by breaking her trust. She tries anything to get her friend back, and to keep her job at the paper. Tyler is the answer to that. She can keep her friend out of the spotlight and still get inside information. All Tyler wants in exchange is everything, and for a girl like Stella who’s into one night stands with bad boys, that’s not a good bet. Both have secrets in their pasts, and when they come crashing down, it tests their already fragile relationship.

I knew almost right away that Tyler was going to make me love him. There was just something about the good guy rocker that pulled me in. Who doesn’t want a guy like him? Tattoo Thief #2 will take you on a journey of forgiveness, growth, and new beginnings. These characters show us that no matter what has happened in the past, we can come back from that, and we are worthy of love.

I was a beta reader for Tattoo Thief, so I was lucky enough to be gifted an advance copy of Tyler & Stella. As much as I liked Tattoo Thief - and I really did - I totally *loved* Tyler & Stella. Once I hit the 1/4 mark, I didn't put it down.

Literally.

That was a late night...

Stella has gotten knocked around enough in life to be broken and jaded, so she feels older than she is and I could connect with her character in a way I was never able to with Berryl. I wanted to shake her on a few occasions early on, but pretty soon I was rooting for her to fix her s*** so she could be with Tyler. Why? Because Tyler was just completely adorable and lovable. Yep, not just lustable or likeable... But loveable.

Really, I loved the book, all the way across the board. It's a quick, light, quality, fully enjoyable read.

Oh! And Heidi Tretheway does a phenomenal job setting the scene for the next book in a way that had me immediately pestering her to just write it already. You'll be pulling out your hair that you have to wait to see what's in store for everyone. I promise.

I really wanted to read Tyler & Stella's story after reading Tattoo Thief and it did not disappoint, its fresh to read that even rockstars with the rockstar image can still be normal people doing everyday mundane chores when all is said & done.
Stella had many emotional insecurities running deep, mainly wanting reassurance and comfort, Tyler however seemed to have conflicting emotions regarding Stella, wanting to be close to her but then pulling back, which in turn made Stella even more unsure, unworthy and feeling like a failure.
Even though they have instant sexual chemistry they were both lonely characters on the inside seemingly wanting to have that deeper connection preferably with each other, both having secrets that could ultimately pull them apart.
This story really engaged me from the beginning, loved the characters, story and the way the story was told & written, i just wanted to race to the end to see how it all worked out.
Heidi is one of those author's that I can say I will be following closely for updates of other published work.
Enjoyed immensely.

This is a book that will draw you in and keep you reading. I didn't want to put it down. Tyler and Stella are both broken by life, the question is can the two of them heal each other. Tyler comes from a frugal upbringing and has come into major success with his band. Stella came from money but circumstances have her broke and homeless. There are issues that they must overcome in order to learn to trust and love each other. Is the attraction they feel strong enough to allow them to open up their hearts to love? I had to keep reading to see what would happen next. Stella’s life is a train-wreck and she has done some things that make it hard for Tyler to trust her. Tyler, however, feels a connection but has secrets of his own that make a relationship between the two questionable. The author pulls you in and keeps you entertained throughout the story. She makes you eager for the next story of tattoo thief to be written.

I immediately purchased this book after having read Tattoo Thief. I don't know if I liked Tyler and Stella's story as much as I liked Gavin and Beryl's.

Let's face it, I downright just didn't like Stella. She had so many vices that I just couldn't relate to - alcoholic and easy to name a few. I'm actually surprised Beryl didn't call her on the alcoholism because I swear Stella drank daily. I wanted to shake her at times.

Tyler seemed to be a pretty damned amazing person. If nothing else, he was so dang nice to her. So I'd have put Tyler down as a great guy.

Is this a standalone book? I don't think you'll need to have read Tattoo Thief to enjoy this book. You might not know immediately who everyone is, but it would be quickly learned.

Do I plan to read the next book? Eventually! I'll admit that I'm sitting here reading the chapters that were released with this book..lol But I don't think I'll immediately start on the next one.

I really liked this story. I liked Stella way better than Beryl.
That was really hard for me because I always like people really fast.

Stella and Tyler their journey was hard and some things were a bit strange.
Their actions were sometimes not clear. And I so so so hate Heath or what was his name her boss.
Also some parts were a bit rushed like what happen t when Tyler came home? That was a week forwarded. But it was a really good couple!
I liked them and the story but didn't fell in love with it all.

This book was amazing!!! I did not think Heidi would be able to top Tattoo Thief One but she really outdid herself. I read Tattoo Thief One this year and it remains one of my very favorite books but now has to share the space with this book. Tyler and Stella's story was great. Once I started I read the entire book, it was impossible to put down. It has the perfect amount of angst and the story really captivates you. Heidi did an awesome job to make you feel all the emotions of the characters and you truly connect with them. I absolutely cannot wait for the next installment!!

This is a definite must read. If you have not read Tattoo Thief book 1 read it first. It's also a 5 star read. Loved it. I started book 2 could not put it down till The End it is that good. The author did a fantastic job with the connection between the characters! The story will keep those pages turning. So if you are looking for a hot,sexy read you have come to the right place. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

If Beryl and Gavin made you forget your laundry, Stella and Tyler will have you ordering in. The sequel to Tattoo Thief is better than the original and virtually impossible to put down. Steamy and fun, this book will leave you wanting a dessert the delivery place won't offer....not unless you live in a certain type of movie universe...so make sure a special someone's around to spend time with when you're done ;)

I started the book after boarding and was done by the time I reached my destination. I could not put it down! I was completely wrapped in Tyler and Stella's world's and how their differences somehow made them the same. And there is such a great underlying theme of loyalty and the true meaning of friendship than ran so deep. Can't wait for the next book in the series!

5 stars for Tattoo Thief Two by Heidi Joy Tretheway! This is the second book in the series, and it is Tyler and Stella's story. While it isn't necessary to read the first book in this series before reading this one, I would suggest reading it so you have an idea of who all the other characters are.

Stella is a struggling music journalist looking for that one big story that will finally put her career on the right path. She finds her story by stealing a personal music video made for her best friend, Beryl, by none other than the sexy front man for the popular band Tattoo Thief. After her story is published, Stella realizes how wrong she was to stab her best friend in the back. When she is invited to a dinner for the band, she goes to apologize to Beryl. It is here that she meets the infamous Tyler.

What can I say about Tyler? Hellooo to the perfect guy! He offers to give Stella an exclusive story, and let me say, the sparks between these two fly! Tyler confuses Stella because he is hot one minute and cold the next. They develop a friendship that slowly evolves into a relationship, but Tyler has a secret that has the power to destroy what he and Stella are building. If that isn't bad enough, Stella has her own secrets that she refuses to share. When these secrets are revealed, will their relationship be strong enough to survive?

What an awesome book! If you are a fan of rock star romance, this is a must read! All of the characters are so real, and the reader can't help but love them all! I am super excited to read the third book in this series which is Revenge Bound. If you haven't yet read these amazing books, you should one click them now! I promise you won't be disappointed!

This book was cute, near the end I really started to like it. I decided to read Tyler & Stella because I loved Tattoo Thief but this one was a bit of a let down. I still enjoyed the book but didn't gobble it up. In fact, it took me more than a few days to finish.

But Tyler was sweet & Stella changed from the party girl I knew in the first book to someone different. Which makes sense for the book but it seems like she lost some of the sass that came with her & I missed that part of her.

Her relationship with Tyler was strange too, very push & pull that I didn't understand too well but was willing to overlook it because I wanted to see the two of them together.

The Good:
• The story
• The ending (in a good way, it was sweet)
• The way Tyler & Stella interacted was very cute

The Bad:
• I missed Stella's sass in this book.
• not engaging enough to make me barrel through the book

The Book:
Overall it was pretty good, an enjoyable read but I won't be reading the next book in the series.

Good Story

This was much better than book 1 but again at least 10% or more filler at the end.

Tyler was a lovable character. Although Stella didn't endear herself to us in book 1, we got to know her better in this one. While not an excuse to sell your best friend out, I can almost understand her drive to succeed in a profession that wasn't her first choice.

I was just glad we got an actual rock star storyline more than book 1. I can recommend this one.

**This is book 2 in the Tattoo Thief series. However, I have not read book 1, and it did not hinder my reading experience. So this is a completely SPOLIER-FREE review**

I think a huge round of applause should go to Heidi Joy Tretheway for writing a book that took me completely off guard. My jaw was dropping from the beginning to the end of the book. And with the amount of books I read these days, a book like this is just too hard to find. Steph asked me to review this, and I just shrugged and said “sure, why not?” without looking at the summary, reviews, or anything. When I opened it up on my iPad and saw the cover, I was immediately like “Hello hot stuff, I need you in me. Now.” I meant in my mind. To read people. Tsk, tsk… But, let’s face it, who wouldn’t want that man?! So, I dove straight into the book, no idea whatsoever what it was about.

“I’ve never believed in love at first sight, only lust. You can’t possibly take one look at a person and know you love them. Can you want to bang the hell out of them? Sure. But fall for them? No way.”

Isn’t that a statement just begging to be challenged? No worries, that’s what Tyler is there for. Let’s go back to the beginning. Book 1 in the series is apparently about Beryl and Gavin (the lead singer in the band Tattoo Thief), and this book is about Beryl’s best friend, Stella, and the bassist of the band, Tyler. It is told solely from Stella’s POV. She shocked me right from the beginning. She actually took (stole) a personal video that Gavin had sent Beryl of him singing her a special song for her video and wrote an article for it for her job, attaching said video to the article. The video went viral, of course, because Tattoo Thief is one of the hottest bands in America at the time. I can’t believe she did that, and we barely even know Stella! But, eventually Gavin makes it so that Stella steps up to apologize and that Beryl tentatively forgives her for breaking her trust. This is how she meets Tyler.

“If only my body didn’t betray me. I can want him. I can even get lucky with him. But I have to guard my heart against getting involved. That would ruin me.”

Tyler was the most interesting lead male I have read in a longgggg time. Like the rest of the members of the band, he looks like your standard sexy, tatted up, bad-boy musician. WRONG. So wonderfully wrong. I loved it. He was actually really sweet. He was a good guy and I actually swooned over him. Hard-core. Hard not to when he says stuff like this: “Next time you want more permanence in your life, just say the word. You don’t have to ink it on your skin, I’ll give it from my heart.” (Best line in the entire freaking book.) It was awesome seeing the female lead be the “bad girl” who drank and slept around a big, while the male lead was the one trying to tether her to the ground for a change. Tyler was seriously the king of mixed signals, and since we are only in Stella’s mind the whole book, it was sometimes hard to read him. Which, obviously added to his allure. Who doesn’t love a tall, dark, and mysterious guy? He would appear to be teasing her one minute, have desire in his eyes the next second, then be pushing her away when she tries to make a move, and then picking her up whenever her life is going to pieces. Repeat cycle. It was infuriating, but also created that delicious chemistry that made me devour this book even faster.

“I want him like air, like water, like sleep and sunshine. I want him to break free of whatever’s holding him back, to just live this moment with abandon.”

I really enjoyed watching Stella truly grow up. I felt like in the beginning she just wasn’t living. She had a job she hated, she had to give up so much of her life, she drank away her problems, and she pushed everyone away. I understand she had a hard past, and it was a joy to see her finally let it go. Mostly because of Tyler. I like how we find out all Stella’s secrets in the beginning of the book. So, how could this book have surprised me you ask? Because of the way Stella and Tyler interact. And because of Tyler. Unpredictable, swoony, amazing Tyler. Somehow he knows exactly how to get to Stella. He knows what makes her tick and he knows how to push Stella to be a better version of herself. I loved it. That’s my favorite kind of love to read about. The kind that brings out the best in two people.

“A bad guy will want to change you, Stella. A good guy will see your potential. He’ll appreciate who you are, no matter how many battle scars you carry… Broken, mixed-up, damaged or a little bit crazy. Doesn’t matter, as long as you’re you.”

Tyler & Stella was such a quick light read, and I loved every second of it. I didn’t want it to end. But, boy did it END. It wasn’t a cliffy to say. However, it did leave you seriously wanting the next book which is Jayce & Violet. Jayce is the last single member of Tattoo Thief and Violet is Stella’s mysterious photographer friend. I need it. Like yesterday.
