Once more Sienna Waters delivered. That’s actually what she does with every story and leads me to totally being in awe of her. This time we get the most wonderful grumpy and sunshine story with a little age-gap (even if this one is only 10 years this time).
Viv is broken and grumpy (so grumpy, lol) after her divorce one year ago and she doesn’t want to do much. It’s already a huge task for her that she has to go on her daily walks with her dog Max. The rest of the time she prefers to do nothing at home. Her favourite thing to do. Getting in fights with her neighbour is another almost daily task of her. Most of all she just want that people leave her alone. When her best friend Evie doesn’t wanna watch this any longer and organises a life coach, this definitely isn’t something Viv is happy about. But well what can you do when your friend was always there for her.
Alice on the other hand only slips into the life coach gig by accident. She doesn‘t know exactly what she does at first, but is a great learner and just so sweet. Most of all she is the biggest sunshine, you just cannot not love. Of course her whole behaviour leaves Viv totally irritated at first. Then what is the worst for a grumpy/frustrated person? Yes of course, someone sickeningly happy. Lol. Even worse is it when feelings grow she doesn’t really understand at first. Never being interested in a woman before, she definitely didn’t think she could. And then Alice is younger (almost a child in her eyes) and this just can’t be.
Of course we all know that resolutions are nice but rarely get implemented. If you ask me when it leads to something like what they both have, thank god they didn’t get implemented. ☺️ Because even if you they don’t fit at all, they do so perfectly. They are like fire and ice but just what the other needs. I definitely had the best time with them and smiled a lot. I couldn’t even decide whom I liked more Viv or Alice and left it with loving both. While Viv is more like me and I can relate a lot to her (you get to see more and more of her sweet side, when you wait long enough, just like with me. Lol), Alice is the person I would need too. How she sees life is amazing and you just have to smile with her. She is also an old soul, another thing I loved so much.
Before I go on and on about how much I loved this book, I better stop now and leave you to read it yourself. I promise you won’t regret it. 😉

New personal assistant to a Life Coach who falls ill, Alice finds herself shoved in the deep end trying to fill in as coach for new client Vivien. Alice desperately needs to keep her new job and the internet provides hints to help her. Vivien, still recovering from a divorce has been forced (by her B.F.) into accepting a stint of life coaching. Her surly nature balks when confronted by Alice's sunny disposition and she quickly picks up on her inexperience with the task at hand. What do you know - Alice turns out to be a natural as a Life Coach and the two muddle along - progressing nicely, learning about each other and getting closer as they go. Totally different individuals that somehow mesh and over time "cupid" friends, neighbors and acquaintances conspire to get them together as a couple.
No more details. With a worthy supporting cast, minor age gap, a touch of heat and lead characters that are meant to be together, this is another enjoyable read from Ms. Waters that I heartily recommend.

Read this again, because of the Ihl reading challenge and the list of roster ovens romances. Enjoyed it enough upper my rating to 5 stars as it is a perfect funny and warm-hearted romance that’s exactly right for a cold snowy and lazy day.

Watching two different characters find their common ground
Sienna Waters always gets it right. I loved the characters, the little kids and the big kids. I loved the unraveling of the lives of the 'two nannies', learning why they were the way they were. I loved sharing their special moments until they reached their happy ending. Well worth reading.

This is the ultimate opposites attach story. Grumpy Viv meets little Miss sunshine Alice. Quite my default Alice becomes Viv's life coach and proceeds to try and figure things out as she goes. Viv gives in to her best friend Evie and try's working with Alice to get her to be happy and start living again. The story is very amusing and also insightful. They are both scared of change and yet that's what they both need. I really enjoyed this book. Sweet slow burn with low angst.

A story that was surprisingly twee especially given the amount of angst. She writes well but it was inevitable and I became a little bored so some, not a lot, skip reading.

I just love all Ms Waters’s books and this is no exception. Alice, just started her new job as PA to a life coach, gets chucked in at the deep end with Vivien, who is Miss Grumpy. Well written, good story line that keeps you interested right to the end. Well worth a read.

This was a really cute story about Alice who starts a new job and suddenly becomes a life coach and Viv who is her first client.
The characters were real and as they learned about life there was a background message about change and how we embrace it running through the book with them. Some food for thought certainly.
Sienna always writes with good humour and I really enjoyed reading this book.

Loved it!

A cozy love story that will turn any frown upside down with all the fizzy feels.
I have a thing for a grumpy leading lady meeting their match in a bright-eyed and bushy tailed lover. Bit of ice queen homage and I'm all for it. The dialogue is delicious and effortless to read. The words come off the page to wrap around you and gently move you along. Steamy scene? YUP! Made this girls cheeks blush, but it was gentle and explorative rather than gratuitous.
I enjoyed the besties each woman had as sounding boards and seeing all the lives intermingle was a joyous experience. Angst? A wee bit, just enough to make your eye twitch, but it does make the resolve all that much sweeter.
I always look forward to a Sienna Waters book. They have the ability to portray the fragility of life, that unexpected happiness lurking beyond the next turn, without dragging a readers psyche across hot coals.

This books feels like a rom-com. The miss-understandings and miss-communication it's funny. It's a comfortable en relaxed read, as all of Sienna Waters books.

I absolutely adored this book. Sunshine vs Grump. Opposites attract and age gap. Even a tiny tickle of toaster oven.
I've never seen a combo pulled off quite like this and it works for so many reasons, not the least of which is just how funny and breathtakingly human this romance is. And gosh don't we all deserve to find love as our quirky weird best selves.
Lovely Alice (25) believes in the good of people and is busy trying to make her new job work as a life coach. But she's not a life coach, she's a receptionist. She's obsessed with getting married and pictures herself wife-ing up with almost any eligible woman she meets.
Her new job for which she is definitely not qualified crosses her path with grumpy divorcee Viv, her first life coaching client.
The banter between the two is *chef kiss* - laugh out loud funny, entirely vulnerable and a little bull headed in parts. Alice and Viv head off on some entirely unexpected adventures as Alice creates and executes a life coach plan to get Viv out of her rut.
Supported by a strong ensemble of loveable neighbourhood characters and mates who are in tricky situations themselves, you'll be holding on to see just how these two very different people might make it work.
I'm not going to say anything else, because I don't want to give anything else away - just know that this story is one that I couldn't put down.

Viv is a divorced woman and she is at a sad. Of her life. Evie , Her best friend is trying to get her out of her doldrums. She hires a life coach for Viv and this is where the plat begins. Due to a medical emergency, house is sent to be the life coach in place of her boss and then it becomes very interesting. I found the characters very different an attitude and I don’t seem to be a match made in heaven. Alice, the new life coach and Viv do not hit it off at once but gradually as the book goes on you find that they develop feelings fo each other. The supporting characters are also very good including Harrison, Alice’s roommate and Kel the librarian. This book has all sorts of situations in emotions and it’s really a good read. I recommend this book from who like a very non-typical romance.

Grumpy Viv, who I respect for her use of the "f" word and overall snarky-ness is really stuck in a rut. Her BFF, Evie, sets her up with a life coach.
Alice is a ray of sunshine and wants to be a wife and mother. She ends up being Viv's life coach. Not surprising she does well as a life coach with her positivity.
Sienna Waters does a good job of showing realistic emotions. Who isn't scared of change at least some times?
It's a slow burn with not a lot of angst, which makes it a great summer read.
I haven't read many by Sienna Waters, but I enjoyed this book and will be reading more of her books.

A lovely easy read with just enough angst to sweeten the HEA. It covers grumpy / sunshine, age gap & toaster tropes and I thoroughly enjoyed it. You can’t really go wrong with SW and if you have enjoyed any of her other books you will like this one too.

This one has something for everyone: perpetually optimistic personality, super pessimistic grump (I definitely saw myself in this character haha), animals, good friends, and a library. The story shows that people can grow in unexpected ways, even if it sometimes take a little (or a lot) of pushing.

Alice isn't a life coach but she is that and so much more for Viv. Grumpy older woman versus way to smiley younger woman.

I've been enjoying the other Sienna Waters books, but for some reason, this book fell a little flat for me. I can't figure out why exactly though.

This is the story of Alice, who is an avid organiser and permanent optimist, and Viv, who after her divorce some time ago has become a grumpy pessimist. Due to Alice’s new boss having a medical emergency, Alice suddenly gets Viv as a client, and has to learn her new Life Coaching job on the fly. This is a very inventive story, based on several people telling only half truths to others.
This is a well written book, some fun moments, a few comedy moments, and many life teaching moments. Both Viv and Alice are well written characters. I can empathise with Viv and her struggles with her life, and her lashing out at anyone that gets in her way. Alice is a bit more difficult for me to understand, early in the story she seems like a less complex character, but gains depth as the story unfolds. Cal is the go-between, the negotiator between them. There are a lot of people offering advice in this book, some of which is way off the mark. Only Cal said what to me is the prurient truth - ‘communicate’. But the funniest I think is Mr Webber: ‘The last time I got a girl, she gave me the clap’.
It’s a shame we don’t see more of Viv and Alice’s life together towards the end, and Alice setting up her business. We go very abruptly into the Epilogue.
The Epilogue is different, with a surprise announcement being made that even we aren’t party to. I won’t mention what the announcement is, as that would spoil the surprise!.
