Unexpected #3

His Forevermore

Rate this book
Blaise Aoide wants nothing more than to relax after a hellish month of fashion shows and mafia gatherings, but rest is nowhere in sight. With Ash’s position as acting head of the Decagon challenged and only five weeks to go before the election, the two of them have a full schedule ahead. Even through constant turmoil, Blaise’s feelings for Ash grow into a beast she can’t ignore. When his demon starts visiting her in increasingly charged visions, she realizes that Ash’s restraint is an illusion, one she fully intends to shatter.

Ash Augustine is unbreakable. His demon ensures that both he and his family business are effectively immortal, and even the looming Decagon challenge can’t touch his iron confidence. But the longer he stays away from Blaise Aoide, the powerful and stunning empath living in his home, the more he begins to doubt his decision to put distance between them. His desire to protect her from the world wars with his visceral need to make her his in every way, and each day by her side becomes a test of self-control. With each slip-up, each intense kiss shared under a cloak of darkness, and every stolen touch, Ash’s determination to keep Blaise at arm’s length dwindles until breaking is the only thing on his mind.

The criminal underworld is shifting, and Ash and Blaise must solidify their position within the Decagon before it all crumbles to sand.

This trilogy was so well written and fun! After reading all three books in as many days, I loved every page and was so sad to reach the end. I adored the MCs, especially Blaise, who had such intentional and refreshing character development throughout the books! Blaise displayed many autistic traits that made me feel represented in a way I’ve never found in a book without them being seen in a negative light or as an “issue”. From relying on music for emotional regulation, the exhaustion from social interactions & being very blunt to the heavy weight of empathy and the intensity of her emotions overall, I loved the way her character was written. Equally as impressive was Ash’s reactions to those traits, as he continually raised her up and supported her without making it seem like she was being unreasonable or making her feel ashamed.

Rarely do I find books that don’t use filler plot points that weakly advance the story, but everything in this series had purpose and held my interest. I was continuously impressed with the dynamic between the MCs and their relationship development without the use of constant miscommunication tropes (refreshing!). The tension between them was palpable, but there was still many things that made me LOL about their interactions. Blaise is so funny and unapologetically herself, and I adore her for it.

I wasn’t sure I would like these books because of the modeling/social media aspect, but Bailey Elizabeth wrote it in such a way that I was surprisingly invested in it! Unlike some books that make being inclusive feel forced, she very artfully weaved realistic elements into the characters in an endearing way, and I think the series is better because of it!

What an awesome end to this trilogy! I couldn't wait for this installment because I've become so invested in Blaise and Ash. His Forevermore is sexier and full of more adventure than the first two books - and I am here for it! And I'm so pleased that it looks like Elizabeth is going to continue to give us stories in this world. Definitely add this series to your paranormal romance TBR if it isn't there already.

Loved this book. Read as an ARC and I can say this book has one of the most satisfying endings I’ve read. Cannot recommend highly enough. Loved Blaise and Ash’s relationship and the growing underworld drama. Can’t wait for the next ones.
