Jack Dunn and his wife Martha Healey lead quiet lives. However, their peaceful existence is shattered when a famous actor arrives on their doorstep. In the early morning hours, he tells a disturbing tale about a stranger and a deadly pact.
Jack and Marty find themselves drawn into a web of murder and dark secrets, where the lines between truth and lies become blurred. As they race against time to uncover the facts, they realize that the price for knowledge may cost them their lives.
Maggie McChristie was born and raised in Colorado. After sojourns in New Mexico, Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Tennessee, she now lives with her husband in the lovely town of DeLand, Florida. Maggie spends her time reading, writing, playing the piano (poorly), gardening, cooking, and attempting to speak Scottish Gaelic (again, poorly). She has always admired authors and finally decided to become one herself.
Jack and Martha (Marty) are drawn into a race against time to stop a murder. An intriguing mystery with engaging characters, bits of humor and romance, and surprising twists. A great read!
Another well-written mystery in this series! I always enjoy the relationship between married couple Jack and Marty. Likable quirky characters, exciting plots, satisfying endings.
