They say sequels are usually not as good, and I’m here to say that is NOT the case in this series. Book 2 started out with the bang and did not let up! JR Mason continues to amaze us with Claudia’s story as it evolves throughout these books. I highly highly recommend the audiobook version, even if you are not an audiobook person. The sound effects are immaculate and this author/narrator did an amazing job. Anxious to get to book 3 and see how this all plays out, because per usual she ends each book leaving you feening for more.

What a ride! If you want a thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat, this is it.
I listened to the audiobook (performed by the author herself) and highly recommend! In the fully immersive experience she’s created, you feel like you’re right there with the characters while some of them try to solve the case and others fly completely off the rails. With sound effects, background music, and a full range of voices for the cast, it was a cinematic experience.
And it’s not all just down to business of the investigation either, there’s messy romance, betrayal, and the unhinged serial killer that will make you laugh, gasp, and kind of root for her sometimes.

Loved this one from beginning to end! It’s a thriller, mystery, drama with just the right amount of spice. I usually predict what’s to come but I didn’t see the ending coming. This was a great read!

One of the best thriller books I have read in a long time! The development of the characters, the twists and turns…you will not be disappointed! She better write a third because I want to know how Torrey handles what happened to him at the end!

I didn’t believe the second book in the Stolen Pieces series could be as good as the first. I was WRONG! This series gets better and better! Stolen Pieces-Grave Misconduct has a great plot that keeps you wanting more and more. Did I say more? It is another outstanding book by J.R. Mason. She never disappoints. This book was thrilling, twisted, with CHILLING scenes that kept me going. “What the hell?!?!” I really enjoyed all the twists throughout the book. Superb read!

Action....Suspense... Drama
I enjoyed reading part 2. It was filled with intensity, some scary moments, heartfelt scenes, and moments that made you wonder who was committing the crimes. If you like crime drama that offers thrilling moments, significant character development, and delightful plot twists, this is the book for you!

J.R did it again!! Writing a book that not only had me at the edge of my seat but kept reminding me I will never be able to guess what direction this woman is going in. To say I was surprised would be an understatement. Book one was amazing and this one right here is exactly the follow up book one needed

Unhinged isn't the word
I can't even articulate how good this book was. Wow. J.R. Mason did her big one with this. Ruby was absolutely off the hinges. I am eagerly awaiting her next release.

Okay, Ms. Mason. All I have to say is this book doesn't need a review. It should come with a WARNING label that goes as follows:
WARNING! This book may, at some point in every chapter, make you hungry, horny, and laugh hysterically at any given time.
It's like putting five different-flavored Jolly Ranchers in your mouth at the same time. Even with the expectations of the flavors you picked, somehow, you suddenly learn what the hell an Açaí berry actually tastes like, even though that wasn't even an option.
This isn't a bad thing, by the way. I know other talented authors have readers trained to feel a certain range of emotions when reading a psychological thriller, and some books are better than others in that regard. This novel feels like an entirely different beast on its own. J.R. Mason took the psychological ball and RAN TO CUBA with it, and YES, I know it's an island!
This book will mess with your mind in ways you had no way of predicting. You may go in thinking, "Oh no, who's gonna get Game of Thrones'ed first?" which is a fair question if you've ever read Ms. Mason's previous work. (Hint: Go read the original Stolen Pieces before the sequel) Because you know damn well anyone can be "unalived" in a hot second in one of her books.
And yes, there is definitely an abundance of cleverly written twists and turns and shocking "THAT SCENE" moments all seamlessly interwoven throughout the story to keep you guessing until the final page, but at some point, you're unexpectedly connecting with one of the most insanely reasonable murderer perspectives you've ever come across. Soon, you'll find yourself questioning your own sanity when you inevitably cheer on their sadistic actions and catch yourself daydreaming at work about suggestions on who you'd like to see hunted down next.
I don't know how I feel about myself after that, but I do know I couldn't stop reading until the very end and enjoyed every minute of it. I'm starting to wonder if Ms. Mason (aka The Snack Witch) is trying to tell us that we all need some quality therapy because reading about being that bad should NOT feel this good, and I know I'm not the only one who can feel that way.
Well done, and congratulations on all your hard work. I'd ask when the next masterpiece is coming out, but I don't want to be added to the Keeper's List. ;)

I did a review not long ago of Stolen Pieces, which turned out to be Book 1. That was my first read by Author J.R. Mason and I really enjoyed that book. It was a thrilling ride through a story about a serial killer and the detective trying to catch them. It left me wanting to dive immediately into Book 2 and that's when the REAL fun begins. Book 2 has some serious slaughtering going on but not only that, J.R. kicked up the heat in here to about 94 degrees and then layered on the twists and turns and surprises at every angle.
You won't easily forget any of these characters because they're so multi-layered that they get deep inside your bones and not always in a good way! As a writer, J.R. is among the best I've read in this genre and this series delivers on all of the things that make a true bestseller: from the kills to the erotic thrills, it will have you clutching imaginary pearls all the way through! Now waiting patiently for Book 3 but kinda scared too...
You won't easily forget any of these characters because they're so multi-layered that they get deep inside your bones and not always in a good way! From the first chapter, it’s nonstop tension. It's a fast-paced, dark, and dripping with chaos and doesn't let go.In book one, the Pittsburgh Violent Crimes Unit believed they’d solved the Stolen Pieces case but now there’s a possible copycat killer on the loose, and bodies are turning up fast.
Claudia and her coworker are still front and center, but this time we meet new faces and get deeper layers on familiar ones. There are more twists and sub plots and of course steamy scenes (whew those scenes 🔥🔥)
One minute I’m laughing, the next I’m suspicious, and then I’m gasping; somehow loving every second 😂
It’s written so well that I actually caught myself rooting for the serial killer. That’s how masterfully J.R. Mason blurs the lines between justice and criminal.

Stop! Don’t read this book unless you have read the 1st book in the series, Stolen Pieces. Now that I’ve gotten that out of the way, this book was a fantastic follow up to the book 1. This thriller brings back some of the characters you love and some you love to hate. The characters really jump off the page and are filled with personality. A bit of murder. A bit of spice. A bit of mystery. The author does a great job of keeping the reader guessing on what will happen next. I’m a very busy person with a very busy life and I’m about to make sure I cut out time in the coming days for Stolen Pieces III. This was an outstanding read by the talented J.R. Mason.

Stolen Pieces II takes the reader on a crazy ride almost as crazy as her characters. Her characters are distinct and well rounded. The writing is smart. It had me guessing the entire time even when the killer had already been revealed. (How doe she do it?) The dialogue is witty and adds to the tension, fun, and craziness. The characters are sexy (Martinez, can I get those digits? On second thought. . . lol). Get this book (and Stolen Pieces I). You won’t regret it.

She's done it again folks... J.R. Mason treads the line between humor and insanity like it's a four lane highway! Part two of the Stolen Pieces saga comes at us with more twists and intensity than a roller coaster that has jumped the tracks!

I absolutely love this author and her works. However this by far is my favorite read from her. I'm talking nonstop action right out the gate. It keeps you on the edge of your seat, anticipating everyone's move in this thriller. The twist and turns, the mystery and intrigue, along with the humor make this an excellent read. I highly recommend this but you must read book 1, if you haven't already done so.

Mason’s sequel to her debut novel really highlights the depth and complexity of the characters in her mind’s eye. This sequel allows the reader to get into the minds of her characters and will leave you guessing until the very end. The pace of this book is quick with nuance and twists that will leave you begging for a full trilogy. Can’t wait to see who, or WHAT happens next!

This is the perfect sequel to the first book. To say that your heart will be racing throughout this book is an understatement. You will get more in depth views of the characters, spicy time, and reasoning for why the keeper is out there. It leaves you wanting more!! Both of the Stolen Pieces books are well worth the read.

The second book in this series was one hell of a ride! Stolen Pieces II had so many twists and turns, I had to take a Dramamine! Do we really, really know the people in our lives? What crazy ass secrets could they be hiding from everyone? Will I find a severed body part the next time I’m in Pittsburgh?? Another outstanding book by J.R. Mason!

Just WOW
This was one wild but such an enjoyable ride. The range of emotions from cheering, to frustration and then anger wore me out!! I had to give it a day before writing this review because I so want to tell the story… but I won’t. So run, don’t walk to reading this series! I’m onto Book 3 now.

Once again, this author has you on the edge of your seat guessing, and you're probably still gonna get it wrong! The Keeper is still watching... or are they? Another thrilling ride with a few laughs sprinkled in. Loved it!

Wow! I totally DID NOT expect that ending! This sexy thriller is full of twists and turns. Who did what to whom when—kind of thrill ride. While it was great picking up where book one left off, it was fun seeing the story and characters develop further.
I really enjoy Mason’s writing and I absolutely love for her creative voice and dialogue. The tone is very present and gives the reader a good dose of realism mixed with the kind of crime-show-action in a book. I really see this book expanding into more stories!
So if you’re in for a twisty ride, buckle up!

I have no words. This author has done AMAZING with this series thus far! Book 2 brings everything together and makes the cliffhanging questions from Book 1 make sense. The thrill, the drama, the plot twists makes me want more! On to Book 3!

Just when you think you have it figured out, Mason adds more to the mix. We know who the killer is, but maybe there's another one. We know something's building up, but it is nothing like what we expect. I can't wait to finish the series.

I loved the first book so much I needed book two in audio! 5 stars are not enough! I loved her sounds and music to certain parts not many people can narrate and write!
