Honest, thought-provoking, personal and relevant are just a few of the words that I would use to describe Overflowing.
I love how Carol McLeod teaches the word of God. She loves the Bible and she will help you to love the Bible too. She explains how and when Colossians was written and how we can apply it to our lives today as we learn more about who God is and who he created us to be.
She weaves stories from her own life and makes the word practical to live out in real-time application. It will change your life, it has changed mine. Carol has a unique way of addressing difficult and challenging subjects with ease and tender care for the reader. You will feel like you are sitting across the table sharing a conversation with a friend.
One of my favorite things about Overflowing was how skillfully Carol repeated certain things. Whether it was a verse from a previous chapter that was weaved throughout the fabric of the book or a simple phrase like “the word of God happen to you.” The repeated phrases make it easier to remember and let’s face it, we all need constant reminders of the beauty of God’s word and how it can change, transform and renew our lives each day.
Whether you are new to the Bible or have been reading and studying it for decades you will glean so much fruit and wisdom from the pages. You too can experience a life that is Overflowing with the best that God has to give us in his son Jesus. The best part is you can grab a few girlfriends and study it together, it’s always more fun when you have companions for the journey. Then you can celebrate each OVERFLOWING life experience and experience the fullness of JOY.

What a powerful in depth study of the book of Colossians, a book about the fullness of Christ and all that is ours by virtue of being His children. I love how the author took the meat in the book of Colossians and broke it down into bite sized portions. This book is composed of 7 weeks with 5 daily readings per week. The author expounds on each passage of scripture in such a way that the reader walks away impacted. For example as I read chapter on the dynamis power that is mine through the Holy Spirit, I wanted to shout it from the rooftops. For I now understand it all better than I ever have before. Additionally it is a wholistic study that includes specific applications, questions, prayer time and quotes.
