I Know What You Did Last Summer meets Pretty Little Liars in Avery Aster’s new novel Always & Forever, Vive.

Operator: “911, what’s your emergency?”

“Help! I need help. My name is Viveca Farnworth. I’m in a high-rise on the Upper West Side. My friends, Lex, Taddy, Blake, and I are being held hostage by a lunatic with a gun.” I choked back a cry as the voice on the other line asked who’d abducted us. I swear on my Chanel handbag collection I’ve got the worst flippin’ luck ever! “It’s a fellow student…that I’ve been…dating,” I replied. Shit! He’s coming back. Hanging up, I slipped the cellphone in my pocket. He doesn’t know I have it.

With a body that’s ripped in all the right places, utterly gorgeous, and so freakin’ charming, I glared at him—part in fear, part in some freaky-deaky state of arousal. I couldn’t believe I’d fallen for this psycho. The sex had been so hot. Everything had been so perfect between us. I loved him. And now, he wants me and my Manhattanites…dead? But why? And what can I do to stop him?

The Undergrad Years is a new adult contemporary miniseries about first loves, independence, and everlasting friendships.

***I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher, through Netgalley.com, in exchange for honest feedback.***

This short novella is a nice "extra" for fans of 'The Manhattanites' series, providing some insight into Vive's psyche. As always, where there is one of these friends, you'll find the rest. There's plenty of Taddy, Lex and Blake to keep you laughing for days.

In this story, we finally get to the bottom of who was trying to kill this privileged group of friends. As suspected, the explosions, plane crashes and drugging events that have plagued them was no coincidence. In this novella we find out who was orchestrating these events, and what their motivations were.

Overall, it was a nice, quick and funny read. The Manhattanites can always be counted on for a good laugh. I really liked seeing the softer side of Vive in this short story also. If you like the other books in this series, you'll love this one as well.

Avery Aster does it again! As I patiently await the release of Unsaid, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the younger years of this group of crazy friends through the Undergrad Years Series. In the fourth installment we focus on Vive, the rich heiress, the life of the party and perhaps one of the more broken of the characters due to her past.

As the gang pieces together the series of unfortunate incidents that have happened it is obvious that someone is out to get them. Karma is finally catching up to the Manhattanites.

Humor meets freaky with this series of novellas! I can’t say how much I love the laughs that Avery Aster delivers in these books. I can’t help but love each one of them and their crazy hi-jinks lands them into mess after mess.

If you love your erotica with a heavy dose of humor, you need to read this author’s books. There is no doubt that you’ll laugh between pants as the wild goes from crazy-hot to hilarious.

These stories may be short but they pack a fantastic punch.

From the first few lines you laugh and fall in love that little bit more with Vive as you realise what a wild and free spirited child she was and the way her childhood has formed who she is today. I especially love the school reports which all outline the reasons the foursome ended up at Avon Porter and not incarcerated, permanently.

Vive, Taddy, Lex and Blake are still determined to find out who, if anyone, is trying to harm them or if they have simply been part of an unfortunate set of circumstances. This time, they reach out to Sanderloo to see whether he can help them unlock the mysteries of their recent run of bad luck. I was crying laughing when even beyond the grave poor Sanderloo is still fearful of Vive and her friends.

The madness continues along with the sexiness especially when we are introduced to Vive's boyfriends, yes that's right, plural, and as you can expect with Vive and her high expectations in live, they are perfect, in almost every way!!!

I simply love Avery Aster's writing style. She is has a wonderfully quirky way of expressing herself through her characters and by doing so pulls you into the storyline until you are crying out for more. This is so much more than a YA series, it sets the scene for the Manhattanites in their later years as we witness what moulded them into what they have become today; simply fabulous.

I am a fan of all the stories I have had the pleasure of reading in Avery Aster's The Manhattanites series, so I absolutely love these glimpses back into the earlier years of Lex, Taddy, Vive and Blake.

As brazen and bold as they are today, it is fantastic to see the teenage side of them. Avery always delivers a hilarious read that always manages to be scorching hot as well!!

This is Vive's story ... the life of the party and perhaps one of the more broken of the foursome. she's a rich heiress but money doesn't buy happiness ...

So it seems someone out there is trying to kill this foursome. We have explosions, plane accidents, drinks being roofied and even a disappearance! ...but these kids are not going down without a fight! Cue ... another hilarious read full of antics from Avery Aster!

I gotta tell ya ... if you like your erotica to have some laughter on the side (ok, maybe a lot of laughter) then THIS is the author for you!

Favorite Quotes:

“And he desired a commitment. He wanted to own me as I did the year’s latest Louis Vuitton handbag. Oh, how I love my French leather accessories.”

“It was as if his feelings switch had been flipped permanently to the off position.”

“Blake didn’t believe in anything other than his Episcopalian faith and felt this whole contacting – the – dead thing was sacrilegious and a one-way ticket to Satan’s labyrinth.”

“I filled the glass with ice, poured the thick, clear gin over the cubes and watched them settle before adding a splash of tonic. My soul was similar to the ice-cubes: frozen and harsh with square edges, but once one poured the liquor over them, they’d soften.”

“Don’t you dare point your boney finger at us ever again or so help me God, I will break it off your hand and shove it up your boyfriend’s hairy ass.”

My Review:

Crackling with humor, sensuality, and also with a bit of darkness and suspense, Vive is an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon. I was entertained and intrigued throughout. The sensual scenes were deliciously steamy and the story fathomed various emotions with both humorous and painful insights. I am having a hard time deciding which of the characters would be my favorite, as they each have their own unique vulnerabilities, strengths, quirks, and eccentricities.

" Always & Forever, Vive" , is Avery Aster at her best, she delivers a fun , sexy and suspenseful story sure to please.
In this short story we get Vive's back story, some from her time at Avon Porter Academy to now at her time at Columbia university .

Vive, is attending Columbia university with her freinds Taddy, Lexi and Blake , but they have not had much luck, it seems that someone is tying to kill them, a plane accident, and explosion , then all roofied when out on the town.
Vive is determined to try and move on after the death of her high school boyfriend Sanderloo, having to give up her little girl that she was pregnant with when Sanderloo died. Which was more of.a punishment than the six months of Juvie for his accidental death.
Vive has two boyfriends now , Jay and Seneca and the ménage is inspiring . Though Jay can be a big cold he is always sexually considerate making sure she is satisfied .
Before the group of freinds now it they are once again a target when a classmate disappears , Vive is accused by many of her classmates , but Poppy eventually shows up and oddly enough. Wants to meet at Vive's boyfriend Jays place. Plot twist and surprises abound along with some Hot hot scenes!

If you have read any Avery Aster before, you will have an idea what you are in for.

The installment in the Undergrad Years focuses on alcohol heiress Viveca Farnsworth.

She and her best friends have been in the wars for the past year, and now pieces are all starting to fall into place. And as the puzzle starts to to come together, I have to say, there was a twist in there that I was definitely not expecting.

There are plenty of laughs, a few tears, there is nothing I don't love about these characters.

You know what I think I enjoy most about these books? I think that it is that I met them all as adult characters, and am coming back to their younger years to find out what made them who they are today (I am not usually one to read much with characters this young - but that's just because of my advancing years).

This is a quick read, that will help tide you over until the next Manhattanites book!

Now, please don't keep us waiting too long Ms Aster!

What’s life like for the heiress to a popular Vodka empire? Just ask Vive Farnworth. Live for Vive is anything but ordinary. With a posse of friends that are always there for each other, this group of Manhattanites knows how to attract ‘trouble’.

Vive, Taddy, Lex, and Blake are still trying to find out who is out to cause them harm. Every where the friends turn leads them to more trouble. Vive still struggles with her part in Sanderloo’s death. Losing her boyfriend sent her on a spiral that quickly needed some intervention. Now that the ‘girls’ are in trouble, they reach out beyond the grave to ask Sanderloo for his help solving this unique set of problems. Be warned…most of the people the Manhattanites let into their lives find themselves skirting on the edge of danger as well.

The current highlight of Vive’s life is her two boyfriends. That’s right….this lucky lady has not one, but 2 men to warm her bed. Each bringing a different quality to the relationship. With two handsome hunks to warn her nights…Vive has no plans to pick just one!!

With a classmate that reports their every happening on television, the Manhattanites are always under the spotlight. Their current mission to find the person attempting to kill them takes quite the unexpected turn. One that Vive never saw coming. Look out if you attend Avon Porter, friendship with these Manhattanites might pull you straight into the line of danger!!

We finally have Vive’s story!!! What can I say? Vive’s escapades at Avon Porter would thrill anyone with a beating heart. This journey focuses on the trials and heartache that occurred in Vive’s life. Don’t despair….readers are treated to some seriously funny, touching, and super hot moments that center on Vive! Seriously - where can you find such a hilarious bunch of friends. The antics of these Manhattanites never ceases to amaze me!! Vive is just icing on the cake…..oh, and her cake consists of two hot boyfriends!! What a very lucky gal!! Avery never leaves fans longing for the superb shenanigans these Avon Porter students are known for. In fact, you will be left anticipating what antics these Manhattanites will get pulled into next!

Vive Farnworth would probably say Avery Aster saved the best story among the four young Manhattanites for last and I would have to agree because Always & Forever, Vive had the humor and heat that the first three books are known for, but this fourth and final (?) novella had a good mystery going as well. The Undergrad Years prequel series culminates with a story that brings everything full circle and finally answers a few questions regarding stuff that happened the the four teens before Lex's story in Love, Lex.

As far as the mystery as to who has it in for the four Manhattanites, I had two suspects and dropped the one because the other was just a more intriguing choice and I was proven right. I did like how this individual's identity was revealed because it did have that Pretty Little Liars feel to it, a show I've never really watched and a book series I've never read but I have a pretty good idea about all the suspense and mystery because of television teasers and trailers. So total bonus points on the suspense thriller aspect.

Among the four Manhattanites, Vive always came off as the most untouchable but learning more about her in this novella shows that she's a girl who would do almost anything for her three best friends. She's been through a lot but she's obviously a survivor and refuses to let anyone victimize her. The Undergrad Years series has been enjoyable and each book was a fun read, but I must admit that Always & Forever, Vive stands out and, if this is indeed the end of this prequel series, does so on a high note. It gets 4.5 stars, rounded off to five stars. ♥

*** Gifted by the author via Net Galley/Book Enthusiast Promotions in exchange for my honest review, as part of the release tour***

I found this series via a giveaway win when I won book 2 Yours Truly Taddy, when I realised it was a second book, I grabbed book 1 Love Lex on my kindle app and devoured it in a few hours carrying on to book 2 straight after.

THE SERIES NEEDS READING IN ORDER.

The thing I love about Avery Asters book series the Under Grad Years, is that they are so entertaining, sexy and funny that you can escape the realities of life for a few hours.

I have enjoyed each and every book, but the girls books have been the ones I've favoured because well, I found the sex scenes more my thing ;)

This book packs some punches, we've got some red hot sex, the draramarama that these books are famous for, and of course we get to see what Vive has been going through via her POV.

As the Manhattanites, try to figure out who is out to get them, we are introduced to some new characters and some old ones, Miss Poppy White was one of the contenders at first for me as the culprit, but then as we learned more about her, I could see that the 4 BFFs were constantly giving Poppy fodder for her show, so why would she get rid of her cash cows?

In the other books I found Vive a bit aloof and in some instances withdrawn, but in her book you begin to understand what she went through and it's then clear to why she is the way she is. But for her friends, she'd do anything and in the end she manages to save them from the lunatic who's been stalking them for years.

It's great when a series ends with a good book, and I am very happy with how Avery Aster has rounded this prequel series of novellas. I look forward to reading the Manhattanites series in the near future.

This is a short ride but wow, what a ride.

You find out more about Vive Farnworth in this story and what shaped her into who she is today. She is a headstrong, spirited young woman and wow, I am surprised none of them ended up in jail. In the previous stories, Vive always had this whatever attitude ,a do not care, attitude but now, this story gives more of a background and shows this woman really cared the most and shows she truly cared and would do whatever it took for her friends , like go to the ends if it meant keeping them safe.

As far as the story, it’s a mystery as to who has it in for the four Manhattanites. I had it down to 3 but as the story went on, I had it down to 2. As you read, you will be able to figure it out pretty quickly. Many people compare these stories to the Pretty Little Liars TV show. I have never watched the show but I think these books compare to more of the 90210 TV show. This book has suspense and it has mystery-oh and do not forget, it also have the sex and the laughs. Just because it is mystery, doesn’t mean it doesn’t have other things.

At the end, it has this poignant letter , where Vive asks for forgiveness. WOW. It was great. I enjoyed reading the story of the young characters before they were truly adults and can’t wait to go forward. Only thing I think would have made this better is HOW Vive & Blake did got together. Overall, this was a fast paced, terrifically moving story and I am going to enjoy reading the BFFs adult stories.

My rating: 4.4 stars ****

The fourth installment in The Undergrad series goes out with a big bang!!

The foursome has been wondering what is up with the recent round of bad luck and we finally figure out why.......I will say the celebraty psychic lady visit was quite funny and in a way set the tone for Vive's final road to recovery. I found it very insight full to learn more about the mysteries of that fatefull night at Avon Porter that bonded these 4 for life. I wasn't expecting the connection of her high school boyfriend in the end, but is seemed like things came full circle and gave her a chance to finally accept what happened.

Let me just tell you ladies that I couldn't get enough of boyfriend #2 and so hope we get more of him in the rest of the series!! I have to give it to Vive and all that she has endured so far in her life, I can't imagine having to deal with so much at such a young age. The whole topic of karma and forgiveness was a great way to end the series and get us back to their life after college.

Always & Forever, Vive is the fourth book in The Undergrad years of the Manhattanites series by Avery Aster. Like the previous books, this one also follows what happened to the four BFFs after their years at boarding school. It also ties together all of the mishaps and so called accidents that has happened to them (therefore its best if all the previous books be read before this one). Its a short novella and the spotlight is now on the very sexy and snarky Vive Farnsworth whose dramatic lovelife at Avon Porter seems to be the center of everything. Like always this was pure entertainment but it also is a bit heartbreaking to find out what Vive gave up all those years ago. Witty, charming and laugh out loud funny with its over the top plot lines, The Undergrad years gives perspective to how wonderful these characters really are and why the whole Manhattanite series have become really addicting.

I received an ARC through Netgalley in return for an honest review.

This is said to be the last book of the Undergrad Years and while I've loved the whole series, I only liked this book. I'm not sure why because I love all of the characters in the group of best friends including Vive but I didn't "love" this book. I think it stems from the fact that Vive is my least liked character even though she seems to be more of the leader so to speak. We did finally get answers in this book as to who was after the group but up until the last book all of the incidents looked to be just accidents. That is not the case though, someone that they trusted was out to get them and someone that they actually thought was out to get them actually has their best interest at heart.

A good closing to a fantastic series even though it wasn't my favorite book of the series. I can't wait to read more about their adult lives!

When I first starting reading this I didn't think I was going to like Vive, but of course I should have known with Avery's writing I would end loving it. I like getting to know these characters back in their younger years with how everything started. It makes you appreciate their stories of now. Vive has gone through something no one should have and it's impacting her life. She can't move past it and enjoy life. If you've been reading the other stores in this series you know the Manhattanites have had a string of bad luck, but what if it turns out someone is out to off them? This story has a little mystery to it which made it intriguing. Vive has two smoking boyfriends whose chemistry with her is hot, hot, hot! Vive has to learn something about herself in this one, great moment when it happens.

I really enjoyed the suspenseful aspect of this book. It was a bit surprising even though it was hinted at in the end of XO, Blake. It was pretty easy to see that someone was out to get The Manhattanites, but I did not expect what happened to happen. Although, I did figure out pretty early on who was the one after them, which did not deter from the story at all.

Vive’s story and everything that happened with Sanderloo has always been one of the most interesting part of this series. I’m glad that it was revisited it and that we got a little closure out of it. I hope that Vive has gotten some, but knowing the adult Vive from Undressed and Unscrupulous, I’m guessing she hasn’t. I am really looking forward to her full length adult novel, just like I am Blake’s.

I didn't exactly know what to expect when I started this book, and I'm honestly still unsure how I feel about it. I jumped into the end of the series, but there was plenty of re-capping, and I didn't feel lost. Perhaps 50% of the book was flash-backs and cliff notes. It didn't take too long to figure out that, to at least the author's perception, teenage socialites getting pregnant are higher odds and normal. The characters don't have too much substance and at times seemed more like 15 year olds rather than adults, but even that could possibly be explained by a spoiled and unique up-bringing. I can't say there's a HEA, because it didn't technically "end" in many ways. This story was different than I hoped, but certainly different from what I've recently been reading. I'm sure there'll be a large following from other readers for this author and her story's worlds.

This book had HOT written all over it. Not suited for very young readers, but if you are one of those who want to have a taste of raunchy, steamy and blazing hot male species, this is definitely for you. Vive is living her life, with two men pleasing her and a teeming family business, she’s got it all. But when her life and her friends’ lives are at stake, everything doesn’t matter except survival.

My initial reaction about Vive wasn’t really pleasing. Because I thought she was such a problem child and grew up spoiled and immature. No wonder she and he friends often got into trouble. But she soon redeemed herself in the end. Overall, the scenes were fantastic, the writing was clear and concise and not misleading. Definitely a great read.

Always and Forever, Vive is one hot book you’ll never forget. One thing for sure. I will never look at bidets the same way again.

I won this book and, dare I say it, I discovered Avery Aster thanks to it. And I'm so glad! So, thank you!

This novella was such a funny read! I loved it. Even though it is a stand alone, it would have been even better if I had read the books in order. But if, like me, this is your first book from the series, don't worry, you won't be lost and have a great time all the same.

I loved the pace and the storyline, the vocabulary and the (seemingly) carelessness of the characters. They are feisty, have a smart mouth, there were some really good lines, that made me literally laugh out loud (and earned me amused glances in the park). So what?
And the ending? Awesome, we should all try Beautiful!

If you are looking for a sweet book with a lot of humour and that will keep you entertained all along, Always and Forever, Vive is for you!

Oh so good. Love the series, but loved this one the most. The story ties up some of the questions left in the other books, i.e. how are all the incidents linked and who is behind them. Full of suspense, as well as secy scenes, the main focus of this one isn't the racy sex or over-the-top lifestyle of this group of friends. The main focus is the development of the story: fast paced, extremely well written and just plain perfect. There were some things I didn't see coming, but I wouldn't have them any other way.

My favourite part: the letter Vive writes at the end, asking for forgiveness. Everyone should write a letter like that at least once in their lives.

What a conclusion. I have seriously enjoyed all of Avery Aster's books I have read. Always & Forever, Vive is no different.

We know there is something fishy about what has been happening to the besties, but figuring out who is behind it well that could take some interesting turns and twists.

Vive is happy. She's doing well in school, she has two amazing boyfriends, and her friends and working on finding their happiness. But the stress of all the stuff going on, a book being written about them and now the author of said book going missing and the blame being pointed at the best friends. Well drastic measures are being called for.

It was fun to read and i really enjoyed it.

**My thanks to NetGalley and Book Enthusiast Promotions for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

So the inkling that Vive had in XO Blake we not unfounded. However it turns out to be someone that Vive just does not expect.

It adds another reason as to why Vive is how she is as an adult and you kinda feel sorry for all they she has had to go through all before the age of 21.

There is the usual snark, wit, sass and naughty bits that make up Avery's books and a good plot that has you turning page after page.

Fun and sexy are two words that describe this book and series perfectly. This book was quick, humorous and great read. I loved that this book nicely tied up everything in their past. I loved getting to know a bit more about each character and look forward to seeing more about them in the future through The Manhattanites series.

I've only gone through two book from the next series and loved them. If you love these novellas as a glimpse into the lives of these characters then you'll love to see what happens to them when they are adults making it out there.

Short quick read. This is Vive's story, she had two boyfriends and someone is out to kill her and her friends.

This is a funny, sexy story where Vive is sure everything they've been through is because someone is out to kill her. Poppy is in this one making all of their lives a little harder with what she wants to do now. Of course everything that happens to anyone that is not part of Vive's group gets blamed on them.

I really enjoyed this book. I would've like to have seen how Vive and Blake got together. Really enjoyed this book. It's a fun, light, sexy read. I recommend it.

Always & Forever, Vive is the prequel to a whole series and I wasn't aware of this until I begun the book. Although it can be read as a standalone, I felt like I was missing something. The one thing that really bothered me about the book was the slang used. NO ONE used that. I mean I am aware that I was really young at the time the book takes place but I know for a fact this is trying to hard. Aside from that, it's an EXTREMELY QUICK read. Like, an hour quick. This was for me a bit too superficial and even unrealistic.

Vive has everything I thought I wanted; Scandinavian good looks, power, prestige, and a bottomless bank account. But I wouldn't want to walk even a day in her shoes, that girl has issues! Out of all of the Manhattanites, Vive seems to be the most "broken" one in the bunch. It's a good thing that she has backup, her friends are there to help her through it all. I love the way Avery Aster writes the characters, they are obnoxious but still real and a blast to read. I highly recommend these books, keep writing them and I'll keep reading!

While Vive hasn't been my favorite (So uppity) I still really liked this story....
First I want to say that I can usually figure out the twist way before it is revealed. It's a gift and a curse. (I am rarely surprised in books)
However I didn't see that one coming. I love that ride or die commitment that the Manhattanites have and everyone would be lucky to have even one of them as friends.
I am seriously looking forward to the 10 yrs later stories.
Thanks Avery for the laughs and the fun. Off to read more of your greatness. :)

Okay so obviously when Vive said someone was out to kill them she was NOT kidding. SH*T just got serious!

If you've read Avery Aster's books then you know what to expect from this one in the Undergrad Years. It'll be funny, HOT and full of drama. Someone is out to kill Vive and her friends and when they find out why things start to click. You'll have to read this to find out who it is. I can't really say much or spoilers will make an appearance. It's also a really quick read! ;)

Vive is living the high life, the heiress of a Vodka empire, great friends and two hot men to warm her bed. If only someone didn’t want her and her friends dead. Lots of drama and suspense and sexy, we finally hear more about Vive’s story and heartache. An excellent addition to this series.
