This is the third and final novel in the Resurrection series.
Grace is at the end of her life, Roman by her side. He has failed in his quest to discover how to resurrect those humans who can be enthralled and now Grace is facing certain death. How can Roman live without her - she has be a part of his life for millennia, but all he can do now is to be there for her.
Loved it! I devoured this book - what an epic conclusion to this outstanding trilogy. It was wrapped up beautifully with the mystery finally unravelled about Grace and Roman's connection. The story, the characters, the pace - everything is perfect. I love how the past and present meld together and we get to see more of Roman's 'human/compassionate' side. This was a fantastic story with a compelling setting and characters, and one of the most intriguing and unconventional love stories that I have read.
Grace has withered away with her body shutting down. Watching the pain on her family’s faces hurts and there is little she can do about it. Even her ability to communicate is getting worse, but the joy of knowing her brother has found a girlfriend helps her pain, until she meets the young woman and realizes she knows her, from another life and time.
There is only one man who can save her from eternal death and he has always refused. Time is the enemy and perhaps it is better that Grace go on to another plane, because love lasts for eternity and her soul can be at peace. When she has one last dream, it is of Roman, a Roman she never knew and it seemed that their love had come full circle.
Oh My, Elizabeth Davies and Sanctifying Grace is simply a stunning and emotional tale that showcases the final moments of a strong woman who, in spite of everything, still feels the zest of life in her dreams as she shares her heart and body with the vampire she loves. Ms. Davies has taken a unique approach to vampires and humans in love, giving human qualities to an ancient vampire without casting aside his true nature. As far as Grace, her name is perfect for her, her grace in the face of death is an admirable trait. Her life with Roman is her final joy, their sexual encounters like a final taste of love.
Wonderful reading, able to bring depth, emotions and the feel of time travel to life! Highly recommended and most definitely a truly different approach to our love for things that go bump in the night.
I received this copy from Elizabeth Davies in exchange for my honest review.
Series: Resurrection - Book 3 Publication Date: October 8, 2013 Publisher: Elizabeth Davies Genre: Paranormal Romance | Time Travel Print Length: 184 pages Available from: Amazon For Reviews & More: http://tometender.blogspot.com
Sanctifying Grace is the third and final book in the Resurrection trilogy. As we already know, after reading the previous two books in the series, Grace is dying of a brain tumour. Her emanate death is looming over her and her health is visibly declining.
This probably should have been titled "Satisfying Grace", as it is very erotic. There was explicit situations as well as language in this book for those who do not take a liking to those things. I was very glad that there was a lot of Roman in this book and his ever hotness with his "arrogant, aristocratic, overbearing, implacable" self. I was also glad that Ianto and a few other characters that have played primary roles have made a comeback in this book. They definitely changed history and the future in this book. After I finished this title, I was like WOW! It is amazing how everything comes to light and anything that seemed unexplained was finally explained. It is so hard to review this book without giving any spoilers! This was the best book in the series and moved REALLY quick! I am sad that this series isn't a tetralogy versus a trilogy, but all good things come to an end, unless we can all rally and convince Elizabeth Davies and the publisher to add to the series.
When I read paranormal books where the hero is waaayyyy older than the heroine, I always have a bitter note in my mouth because I just cannot get why a 1, 2, 3.000 years old would fal for a short-living human, however she could be beautiful, smart, strong, etc...
Here I think the Author has find a wonderful way to solve this problem: time travel! A wonderful idea!
In the first book Grace is in her late twenties, but here she's older than Roman! Even if just a few short months have really passed in Grace-time, she has been acquainted to Roman for the duration of his vampire life. A really, really clever twist!
Another clever twist is the ending that wraps everything nicely and logically! I had a hit of how it was going to end when Roman strated his Gaia company and got interested in the difference between himan and vampire blood. But I didn't see who will have the brilliant idea! That was a nice surprise!
A great series for all vampire fans! :D
But, DO read the books in order and take care to have all three of them before starting! *wink*
Holy *hit! This book is the best in the series. There was a HUGE plot twist in it and I about fell over! There is no way, yet there it was. It never dawned on me! Ms. Davies blind sided me with it and I loved it!
Grace is at death's door. It won't be long, hospice is there to help take care of her in her final days. She is weak, she is sleepy, and she is in pain. The pain of death. Will Roman be able to help/save her? Or is this the end of Grace and Roman forever?
Roman is with her at the end, just like he said he would be. Then he is gone with an hunch from Lettuce/Leticia to find Viktor. In the mean time, someone visits her for a final time. But Roman comes back and takes over. It is at this moment that the plot twists and you freak out! Freak out in a GOOD way. The story comes full circle, there is closure and you relax with a good bite, I mean with a good ending.
I will say, I would have given the book 5 stars, but there were some obvious spelling and grammar errors that could use a double check. But really I loved this book. I started the series on 11/30 and finished the 3rd book today 12/2. Did I enjoy it? Hell yeah! Ms. Davies is masterful with her weaving of worlds.
Book 1- State of Grace Book 2- Amazing Grace Book 3- Sancifying Grace
This book was sent to me by the author in exchange for a review.
I really enjoyed this trilogy so much that I plan to get it in book form so I can lend it to my friends. I was not ready for it to end at all. As Grace is rapidly dying due to her tumor and her time-traveling adventures, the scenes between her and all of her family become more heartfelt. As the time period is getting closer and closer to Grace's current time, Grace feels that Roman is losing interest in her, even though her pull to him is just as strong. As another vampire tries to lure Grace away from Roman, she feels very guilty thinking something is wrong with her in order for her to feel the lure. Roman tries to assure her that she did nothing wrong, which makes her feel like he is not as interested in her as he was before. She still looks foward to the time traveling though, because she feels whole and not dying at all. When Roman finally meets up with Grace during her current time period, he is heartbroken because he was unable to find a way to save her life. You find out at the end of the book why Grace felt such a connection to Roman, why she always time traveled to him, and why Roman was never able to enthrall her. I just wish the end of the book could have gone on a little bit longer to see how their love survived.
The author very generously gave me this series to read in exchange for an honest review. This is my review for book 3.
Oh. My. Heck!!!
This was an amazing conclusion to the series. I liked book 1, loved book 2, and am obsessed with book 3. Holy cow, it was such a grand finale. This book easily warrants 5 stars and a placement on my "favorites" shelf.
Grace is dying. The tumor has taken its toll, and she has very little time left. She's still thrust back in time to Roman, where adventure abounds. Like book 2, this was a definite page Turner. By the end I was on pins and needles, my anxiety was soaring, and I was consumed by what the next page would bring...
And oh my...Davies brought it! The ending. Oh my gosh, the ending. THE ENDING!!! I loved it. Timeless love, indeed. There's no stopping Roman and Grace. Wow, what a ride across history.
I read all three books in this series in 2 days. They are that addicting!!! They were all so well balanced with action, some steam/romance and of course the paranormal and fantasy attributes. It made for the perfect combination and held me captive the entire time. I can't recommend this series enough.
OMG! best freaking ending EVER! Elizabeth Davies really knows how to bring everything to a head! In this the final book in the Resurrection Trilogy she pulls out all the stops and ends it with a big finish. I really loved the heartbreak and finally of this story, as Grace final days close in on her and all her loved ones gathered around her you could feel the desperation and love on ever page.
As Grace Lay in her final days suffering from a brain tumour that is claiming her life, her trips back im time to see her beloved Roman seem to less and less. Each time they meet in the past is another day closer to the present and Grace is afried of what will happen when time catches up with them. Meanwhile Roman franticly searches for a way to save her through blood, even though it all seems impossible as she has never been a candidate.
How is Roman ever to live without her? and why has it taken this long for Grace to see how much he has always truly loved her?
I couldn't put any of these books in the series down! they were all so good! the twists in this one were astounding! and I commend Elisabeth for them!there were a few new characters in this one as well and I loved them! they added excitement and suspense to the story, and I wouldn't have had it any other way.
**I was given this book in exchange for an honest review**
This is the third and final book in the Resurrection trilogy and for the third time I feel compelled to state - please don't be put off by the cover. This is NOT your typical romance style novel. It is a wonderful vampire tale that blends time travel, drama, and of course some paranormal twists.
This finale installment was by far my favorite. All three are really good reads but this one gets the 5 stars! I was so worried about how the author would manage to wrap this up without breaking what had already been written or having an end that just wouldn't work for me ..... but Elizabeth Davies did it. I would never have worked it out but in the end it was the way it had to be. Kudos for writing such a different and captivating series. I would definitely recommend it!!

10 stars! What a series! This goes into my 'best of the best, list! I loved how this story was woven together, completing the circle and answering the big question of why Grace was tied to Roman. Their relationship was completely connected and romantic from beginning to end. This third book had me choked up! I especially loved that the plot theme of Grace's condition was unique, and yet she was portrayed as such a strong, and vibrant heroine with an independent spirit! I stumbled upon this series first book and have been hooked ever since. My only real disappointment is that it's over and I don't have another book in the series to look forward to! Of course if it could be made into film...that would be spectacular! Elizabeth Davies...I am a FAN! I don't see any other reviews here so I'll tell you this...go get this series...all three books and read them in order! You won't regret it! Book 1- State of Grace Book 2- Amazing Grace Book 3- Sancifying Grace
Gah! That ending! It just ended so abruptly and I wasn't ready for it to be over yet.
Does anyone else do that thing where they look at the page number they are on and then then flip to the back of the book and calculate how many pages they have left before the book ends?
Because I must have done that during the the last fifty pages at least every other page.
No joke.
I could see the ending looming ahead and I kept chanting "No, no, no!" like I had the ability to make the book magically grow extra pages for me to read.
Sadly, it did not.
I think the most disheartening thing was when I checked and realized I was on the second to last page. That was painful. I wasn't ready to say goodbye yet!
Anyway, this book was another successful part of the Resurrection series and a wonderful last book to the trilogy.
This has been one of the best series I've read in a while! Grace, terminally ill, begins experiencing spontaneous "episodes", which are actually time travel. She meets a man during these adventures who she slowly learns is a vampire. Grace's story fills the pages of all three books and, until the very end, it is unclear how the story, or the romance, will end. Unlike other romance novels, where a happy ending can be predicted from page 1, this series leaves you wondering; such a wonderful change in pace! Grace's adventures, both during her time travel and when she is in her own time, keep you engaged and experiencing a full range of emotions...from desire to grief to joy and back again. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys a thoroughly engaging story, different than others in the genre, where anything can happen and nothing is guaranteed!

The last installment of the Resurrection Trilogy. As the story comes to an end, the story’s also good but not that great compared to the first 2 books of the series. Additional characters were introduced who also have an interesting personality. It made the story more interesting. I was sad for Grace on some parts of the story because on the things that happened to her, her struggles and on how she was treated on the events that were thrown in her way. I was kind of not a fan of Roman on some parts of the story but as the story went on, he redeemed himself. The ending of the story, gah!!! Loved it!! It was unexpected but great!
In Sanctifying Grace, Ms. Davies ties up all the loose ends of the Resurrection trilogy while ratcheting up the tension to the last page. She surprises us with twists and turns we didn’t expect, keeping us wondering till the end if Grace and Roman will manage their happily ever after. This book, like the others in the series, was beautifully written. Grace and Roman have become my new favorite lovers.
Bravo on a job well done. I enjoyed the entire series, but the last book especially.
Sanctifying Grace is the final book in the Resurrection Trilogy. With so many twists in this story, I could not put it down.....I just had to finish to find out the ending. At first I thought I was going to be truly disappointed with the outcome, but with most love stories, there was indeed a happy ending.
If you have not read this trilogy, I highly suggest you download it NOW!!! I only wish it was available in paperback so that I can add to my home library.
Thank you for the books... not my normal reads but loved it. Now about the book(part 3 of this series).... Grace has been battling her tumour as we learned in book 1 State of Grace. In this she is nearing the end and hoping she can spend as much time with her family and time-travel to be with Roman her vampire lover. Before her time comes can he save her? In a twist can she save him and be with him forever?
holy hell. Wow this book blew my mind! It was such an emotional wave. One minute I'm smiling next I'm sad sniffiling. I did not expect the ending. Trust me this is a must gotta have now kinda reads....
I almost didn’t make it past the first few pages of this book. Not because it was bad or anything. I couldn’t see past the tears enough to read a single word.
The first chapter was hardly pleasant reading material. In it, we read how far Grace’s health has deteriorated. I know I said book two was heartbreaking. Truthfully, it doesn’t compare to book three.
But next to Grace’s illness is the appearance of a character from book two who has now, at Roman’s request, infiltrated Grace’s family to watch over her and to try to help Roman figure out if he can resurrect Grace. The entire story centers around that one question: can he bring her back to life as a vampire even though he cannot enthrall her?
Aside from the grief I felt at the beginning, I felt enraptured throughout the entire story. History isn’t everyone’s thing, but it is for me. Fiction or not, it really was an awesome thing watching history unfold as told through Grace’s eyes. Events, people, times, places. Everything that would eventually connect Roman’s past world to hers unfolded over three books, but this last book offered the most because the end was fast approaching.
I loved the ending. It’s so rich in narrative and description that I could see everything was happening. My heart would race then drop as I waited anxiously for Grace to find Roman. Disappointment and a small amount of fear coursed through me when he finally did appear, just not how I thought he would.
But the past and present finally collided. Strands of time wound around one another, permanently weaving Roman’s lifetime to Grace’s. Happiness was no longer dependent on when they would meet again; it was theirs, now and forever.
Resurrection isn’t your run-of-the-mill vampire story. Every character, every word, every setting, every act of love and compassion, every act of protection and possession of this trilogy is worth reading more than once. Thank you, Ms. Davies, for writing this trilogy. You’ve given this reader a series she’ll read again and never forget.
The last installment for this trilogy paranormal romance novel is not how I expected it.. And I love this novel for it.. And at the same time I hated it.. I want more, like an epilogue or something.. But oh well..
Grace is in her final stage of her life, and her only escape from the pain and weakness is through time travelling.. Although whenever she returns back from those trip her condition is worsening even more.. But the time she spend sick free, strong, with all her body parts moving according to her wishes without difficulty, and most specially with Roman is something she wouldn't exchange for the world..
The ending explained a lot of things.. So I loved it, but at the same time I hated it.. I want to learn more and read more about how Grace and Roman could be together finally..
Ok for the review of the whole book...... This book is great novel and interesting book to read.. I think in my perspective the author delivers the story according to her plot.. Although maybe because I read this 3 books continuously (meaning I read this without reading other books), I felt the repetitiveness of the plot which is not good for me.. That made the book a bit boring for me.. The writing of the author still have some room from improvement.. Specially in letting the reader feel how each and every character felt in the most simplest manner possible.. Not all of the writer who tried this time travel plot gives justice to it.. But luckily the author did.. The author needs to focus more and how to write the action scene, because I don't quite feel the excitement or the thrill an action scene is supposed to portray in the story.. But she does know how to give a cliff hanger.. But be careful about that because you might push it too hard and instead of making them want to read the next one they might just want to drop the story altogether..
Message to the Author! You did great in this book.. You have a great plot, just be careful on the delivery.. Until next time!! ^_^
This book was a great ending to a great story. Grace's deteriorating health was very sad to witness. She stayed strong throughout all of it, though, and her character stayed very true to herself. She is a great heroine in my eyes, if you can call her that. She is strong, has a great mind about her, takes care of herself(for the most part), and holds her own against the vampires that seem to try to attack her at every turning point. The only thing she failed to realize was how much her vampire, Roman, really did love her. And he did, so, so much. It was plain to me that he did, but Grace being a woman tended to over analyze everything. I say this because I am a woman and I tend to do the same thing. I'm always stuck in my own mind as well, but to be fair to her character she really didn't have much choice in the end. She couldn't talk much, couldn't walk, couldn't even eat at the end. I loved all the time-travels, loved the fact that when she was so bad off in her own world she had an escape from it and could be happy and carefree with Roman. Although, I guess she always ended up in a bad situation. Grace seemed to find trouble wherever she went, but Roman was always there to save her. Everything from the past was believable and well written and I loved every second of it. The ending was incredible. So often I find myself loving a series until the last book. Some writers do not know how to end a book correctly, but Elizabeth Davies doesn't have that problem at all. While Grace was becoming more, she found Roman and the connected in a way that a vampire and sire should connect. It was great to read and the emotion I got from it clicked. The fact is, I couldn't put any of these books down, stayed up way too late reading them and loved every single second of each one. Thank you to the author for letting me read these wonderful books and thank you for writing them. If you want to get lost in a story, you all should read them too!
Grace knows firsthand how easily death sneaks up on a person and follows until its shadow subsumes the last spark of life. Her diagnosis of a terminal brain tumor guaranteed the specter’s visit.
What she didn’t expect was the unbelievable side affects her headaches produced: time travel spanning 1,800 years. Her amazing experiences led her into a paranormal world of vampires that tested her physically, mentally and, more importantly, emotionally. Bonds formed in the past carried through the centuries, creating changes in not just the medical field but history as well.
Ms. Davies’ ability to create a storyline that evokes solid emotion is a skill I’ve come to expect after reading her Resurrection series. Each character had a purpose, personality depth and personal arc. I couldn’t stop reading. I devoured each page, despite knowing I would reach the end that much faster.
My only issue with this story was some confusion about the ending. While it worked in theory, (a tautological scheme) the time travel issue had been attributed to something specific (trying not to be spoilerish) and that something specific changes, how can the time travel ability continue…which allowed the circular connection these characters had with each other?
Despite that personal issue, I enjoyed Sanctifying Grace…and loved the Resurrection series as a whole. I look forward to reading more of Ms. Davies’ work, and am hoping more paranormal time travel is involved!
Grace is now at the end of her life and has Roman by her side. His quest to discover how to resurrect humans who can be enthralled has failed. Now Grace is facing a certain death. Grace has been a part of Roman’s life for millennia and Roman doesn’t know how he can live without her. All he can do is be there for her when she needs him the most.
This is third and final book of the trilogy and readers will be sad to let Grace and Roman go. This is also the most emotional book of the trilogy and will have readers reaching for the Kleenex. While the ending is a little abrupt overall it is a wonderful ending to a trilogy that readers will remember long after they are done reading the books. This story more than the other two will pull the reader in emotionally though as the reader reads each and every one they will find themselves more emotionally invested and will have to read until the very end to see how it ultimately turns out for Roman and Grace. The worlds both past and present come alive as the reader turns each page and they will find themselves lost in another world and will be reluctant to leave. It will also have readers wanting to see more from this author. The trilogy will take the reader on an emotional roller coaster ride that they will find themselves hating to leave.
WOW.... I'm not sure what to say about the third book in the trilogy other than WOW.. Grace is dieing and reading about what she was going through was heartbreaking and maybe its because I have gone through that with my own partner so it hit a little close for home. Thankfully she had Roman and he was her rock.
This is the third book in the Resurrection Trilogy and it might have been my favorite overall. To be honest I was almost afraid to read the third one because of Grace and I wasn't sure how many boxes of tissues I would need but in the end I was glad I read it..
The ending was definately not something I had expected and I was slightly confused at first but overall I thought it was a great series. If anything I wish Miss Davies had dove further into the ending. Was Grace the start of it all? I can't really say much without giving away spoilers and I don't want to do that to any reader as I would hate for that to happen to me.
Did I say WOW yet!!!! Elizabeth Davies has proven to me that she in an awesome author!!! This series (Resurrection Trilogy) has got to be one of the best series that I have read - especially for an author that I am experiencing for the first time.
Sanctifying Grace is the third and final book of the series. When I started reading it, I wondered just how she was going to finish the series and what was going to happen. There were so many twists in this story, which made it all the more interesting!!! I loved the way that she ended the story but I really wish that it didn't have to end at all!!!
This is definitely a book (really a series) that you want to make sure that you have time to devote to reading before you sit down to read!!! Once you start, you will definitely NOT want to stop.
I was given a copy of this book for an honest review.
Even with a few typos this series gets 5 stars because it sticks with you and it is not one of those 'ok done, now what?' - it's memorable and a great read. I saw the plot twist coming, and it was an excellent ending to the story... I finished this trilogy in one day. I would have loved to read a bit more about what happens after but I suppose that is what makes this book so good, in that it sort of leaves you hanging and thinking about what is to come (don't worry, no cliff hanger or anything but it's just one of those books without an epilogue to tell you EVERYTHING, which actually start to get boring, so it's really good how it ends here - I just want more lol).
The only major criticism I have is the covers of the books (would have been better if it was a picture of Brecon landscape or something as this cover is just weird and doesn't fit the wonderful story inside).
*** I was given this book by the author, in exchange for an honest review ***
This is the final book in the series, and it was good, I say just good because I had a few issues with this one. We know Grace is dying, and that it's inevitable, we also know that Roman will save her b/c let's face it it's a romance after all. However, the speed at which things were all of sudden figured out/coming together bothered me. From her relationship to "Lettuce" to her last time traveling experience. The explanations just seemed forced in an attempt to finish the book. One thing that really bothered me was the actual saving of Grace, the way it was done, should have been common sense in book 2. I liked the ending of the book, it did wrap up the series with a nice little bow, however I didn't like how the end came to be.
I really enjoyed this series and have to say that Sanctifying Grace was my favorite installment in the trilogy. I highly recommend this series if you are a fan of paranormal and science fiction. Sanctifying Grace picks up right where Amazing Grace ended with Grace's health declining more rapidly, but still with her ability to time travel. It was so much fun to read about the changing of times and Roman's ever developing character. He and Grace are a perfect match and a couple you will, without a doubt, find yourself rooting for. Elizabeth Davies does a wonderful job tying up loose ends and bringing the story full circle. I felt it was the perfect ending to a great series!
