Lively Prose and Step-By-Step Photographs Will Have You Bringing MacAbre and Whimsical Screamers To Life In No Time--Even If You Have No Artistic Talent. Dan Reeder, Well Known In The Pacific Northwest As "Dan The Monster Man, " Has A Semi-Twisted, Humorous Style That Dances Through His Instructions.
The book that started it all for me. Released in 1984 and out of print. This has the most in depth description of Dan's methods. His later books have information that this doesn't though. He was still in the refining stage of his art. This book takes the most time teaching the techniques. The technique is a mixture of Paper Mache and what Dan calls Cloth Mache. This art form is messy and fun. There are endless possibilities to what you can do with it.
I love this book. I bought a used copy and it was actually signed by the author, which was neat.
I have never done paper mache before and this book takes you step by step in really easy to understand instructions. He has photos for each step of the process as well. The ideas and creativity this book inspires are just amazing and his screamers are like something out of a fairy tale. I would definitely recommend this. I want to buy a few of his other books now as well.
