Your condition may be incurable, but so is your magick. This book is a beacon of hope for anyone grappling with chronic or invisible illness—a reminder that you are not alone. Through personal stories and practical magick, Danielle Dionne guides you on a journey of self-discovery. She shows you how to incorporate spellcraft, healing, self-care, and confidence-building practices into your own unique process.
Chronically Magickal presents techniques that help boost your energy, mood, and visions for your future. While it can't cure your illness, this book teaches you how to accept help from others, grow around grief, pace yourself according to the spoon theory, and more. You'll also learn how to work with stone, plant, and animal allies. From energy clearing to spirit communication, Danielle covers every aspect of staying magickal and manifesting change for the better.
An easy one to rate for me. It feels good to be included. From the aesthetic I was afraid that it wouldn’t really match with my style but I took very helpful and important things from this! Just very glad that this exists. Read in Everand but this might be one of those books I just want on my shelf. This book delivers what it promises for sure. The only downside is that I wish I’d found this before getting this severely ill. Did recommend this to two sick friends!
- book is pain free to read light and easy to hold
-lovely introduction to the author
-first chapter is talking about how we don't listen to what our body needs at first with chronic illness & how we need to learn to do so
-lovely exercises to reconnect to the body through mindfulness and meditation
- really enjoyed the section about how your life changes when you get sick and how to bring magick into them like using rest to take mindful breaths with a lit candle or making a simmer pot when you make some tea
- the exercises were awesome things like turning a weighted stuffed animal into a talisman for comfort is wonderful
- the salves and salts section has some lovely things I'm going to try and make
-lots of the information is aimed at beginners witches and people newly sick but it's good to go over the basics again
- loved the spells for finding good medical support and for successful surgery
- really enjoyed the section about different healing practices from different cultures and traditions
- once more meditations are written and not offered online this is a constant annoyance we have the technology so can we make it the norm
This contains a lot of practical, hands-on information about what witchcraft actually looks like. Reading books that are more about the history or the cultural context didn't give me a good idea of what practicing witchcraft on a daily basis would actually look like, but this book is very helpful for envisioning that.
This was a very informative book. There are so many examples and exercises. It’s so deep, so much to do and learn. I’m gonna have to listen to it a second time and I got the physical book so I could take notes! Well worth the read.
