In a world poisoned by revenge, love is their only salvation.

Now bonded as skúma and familiar, Eva and Ari can read each other’s minds—and hearts. They’re an unbeatable warrior pair, and now that they’ve confessed their love for each other, their path forward should be clear…together.

But the Executor’s disappearance has driven a wedge between them. Eva’s more determined than ever to march against the Commonwealths and put an end to the man she despises. And much as he would like to see the Executor dead, uniting the Houses comes at a price that Ari’s not willing to pay.

When a strike against the Brotherhood stronghold sends the resistance into chaos, Ari and Eva find themselves on opposite sides of a deadly conflict. As Eva’s newfound powers spiral out of control, and Ari faces unexpected revelations, the rift between them widens. In a world beset by shifting loyalties and awakening magic, the two must face the possibility of a future apart if they want to survive and bring the Commonwealths down.

This series is simply superb! It will live rent free in my brain for quite some time. It has everything you could want in a YA fantasy series with a STRONG female MC and an amazingly smart and witty counter male MC to her strength. It challenges current societal standards by questioning everything that is "right" and "accepted". Ari and Eva question all the rules and restrictions placed on them, and ask "why" they are not allowed to love and care for each other. Upon leaving the Commonwealth, they find that the "savages" they were told about give them comfort and shelter. There is also magic in this world in the form of shapeshifting due to genetric altering.

Don't forget @kiera_reads_ and I will be talking with Emily about her series over ab instalive this Saturday at 2pm CST! SUPER EXCITED! See my previous post for more details.

In this futuristic version of the United States, people have been corraled into living in communities called Commonwealths. However, while the Commonwealths keep them safe from ourside savages, they not free to express emotion or have physical contact of any kind with the opposite sex. Each citizen must do as their told, share everything, and upon coming of age perform the job given to them by their Commonwealth leaders.

I finished the final book of this series with a certain melancholy, a testament to the author's skill in developing the characters, both the main and even the secondary ones.

In this last book, Eva, Ari, and their allies are caught off guard by the sudden disappearance of the tyrannical Executor, who, despite his departure, drops some truth bombs that will change the course of history for the Brotherhood. Eva and Ari must learn to navigate their Skumar-Familiar bond amidst growing tensions fueled by their differing opinions on the path forward.

The story kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end, filled with anxiety, action, and suspense. It's a solid series that undoubtedly deserves more hype!

Received an ARC.
Very nice wrap-up to the series. It's not overly simple. Some repetitive storylines, but it works.
Now that the final book is out, I look forward to reading the series from start to finish with no breaks.

“Will you trust me, not just with your life, but with your heart?”
“That is our gods-damned plan. First we parlay. And then, we ride.”
“Half-tease, half-threat, all satisfaction.”

Storm of the Seven Sins is the final book in The Seven Sins series, and I believe it wrapped up the series excellently.

Once again, the writing was captivating, keeping me hooked from the first pages to the end. This book took me on an emotional roller coaster, with moments of happiness and humor, as well as darker, sadder, and tenser moments.

The storyline and characters were again well-developed and interesting. It was gratifying to witness the characters mature and evolve from the first book to this conclusion.

I won't delve into the plot details to avoid spoilers, but I found the storyline easy to understand and follow, with multiple plot twists keeping me engaged throughout.
I would recommend reading both the novella and short story collection before diving into this book, as they contain important background information.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed both the book and the series as a whole.

I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review. Receiving ARC didn’t affect my opinion of the book.

What a bittersweet ending. This book made me angry, happy, cry, feel all the things as I was rooting for them. Such an emotional and fierce battle over good and evil. This series was different from my normal reads but I loved all the world building and getting to know the characters. Would recommend if you love dystopian fantasy slow-burn romance kind of books.

This series is a hidden gem! It's a dystopian fantasy with mages and shifters. The world building is excellent. The slow burn yearning romance is top tier! If you liked Powerless, Heartless Hunter or An Ember In The Ashes, pick up this series!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - this series is so amazing. It is low spice and a perfect combination of dystopian and fantasy. I became so attached to all of the characters that it makes me sad it's over.

Lets talk about Storm of the Seven Sins.

To start this off, I received an ARC of this book in Emily Colin's book series "The Seven Sins".

Storm of the Seven Sins comes out February 13th, 2024. Read the first 4 books. READ THEM!! You won't regret it.

Now onto the fun.....

THIS BOOK BROKE ME MS. COLIN. My heart? SHATTERED. I have so many questions 😭😭

**SPOILERS AHEAD**

I got the pleasure to follow along on the adventure of Ari and Eva and their forever changing relationship.

From random strangers bonding over rebeling from a distance, to mentor and apprentice, to weird feelings (but then the fate of the world had the audacity to get in the way of those feelings multiple timea) to Sukma and familiar in *love*. This book has it ALL.

I was literally unable to put this book series down.

Emily's writing style is elegant and beautiful, simple yet descriptive.

Her story line was exactly where it needed to be and easy to follow (even tho there were a bunch of plot twists you don't see coming!!) Everything was throughly thought through.

Her characters all had specific, distinct and unique character developments.

And to top it all off. Your heart? It will break.

I really don't think it's possible to ask for a better read! I highly recommend everyone read this series. It's an amazing read, the adventure is amazing, Emily's amazing. You won't regret it.

the action packed, emotional roller coaster finale to the seven sins series is here! 🗡️

it was the heartbreaking yet fulfilling ending that i’ve been waiting for. eva and ari dual pov will have you screaming and shouting, laughing and crying, at them both. this series has sucked me in from the get go due to the author’s writing style, queer representation, and genre bending. Storm was everything I could’ve asked for and more. ❤️

This was a difficult read for me. I loved the first book, really liked the second book, and begged to read the ARC of the third book. The actions of the first book were a strong dystopian novel ala Orwell's 1984 where the government has all the answers for us. Like every YA book, the adults are out of control and there is a better way just outside the dome, the maze, the theocracy, the city - well you get the idea.
Then book two comes along and we start veering towards the edge of the road. There are shapeshifters and mages, and a rebellion with guns and modern weapons versus the swords and daggers of the first book. Okay, this is a dystopian fantasy - I can roll with this. I have problems with the relationships and the characters but those are my issues.
I open book 3, Storm of the Seven Sins, and I feel like I am trying to drive a car that is soaring over a cliff. The main character Eva says she is off to save the world, but it just feels like a revenge quest with too much bloodshed, stupid choices when smarter people around her offer good advice, and a pretentious "noble" excuse to keep two men trapped in a relationship triangle. Frankly, I was done with her character by chapter 16.

So, I took a step back and tried to look at the bigger story. Is Eva deceiving those around her with her noble words of saving the innocents, or is she deceiving herself in her quest for revenge against the Executor. When she tells Ari that she loves him, but she is considering Sebastian's offer, is she seduced by the power she will have as royalty and the role she could never imagine as a lowly Bellator? In the world she grew up in, personal attachments - friends, lovers, families - were punished by death, does she even understand the depth of Ari's feelings? Is it that she will not choose her future or that she cannot. There is a difference. And Ari seems to have regained some of his famous control so vaunted in the first book and so absent in the second. Sebastion still remains one of my favorites as a royal who has been groomed for one purpose and one purpose only. Jaxon also has come a long way since book 1 - or maybe the events have just reframed his personality until he fits the stage he walks on. Both do their duty even though there are secrets about and between them. These secondary storylines wove their magic and by chapter 50 I was back in story. I did like the Happy for Now endings for so many of the secondary characters.

There are so many Trigger Warnings for this one: The carnage is extremely high. Friends and fellow soldiers fall without any psychological consequences to those who stood beside them, sexual assault, non-consensual bonding, emotional manipulation. This went dark so very quickly.

I received an ARC. This is my unbiased opinion. A solid ending to the trilogy, just not for me. The book will be published February 13, 2024.

Emily Colin's finale to the Seven Sins trilogy, 'Storm of the Seven Sins,' brings the complex journey of Eva and Ari to a close, marrying elements of fantasy more prominently than its predecessors. While the series concludes on a note that ties up the sprawling narrative and character arcs, certain aspects leave room for reflection.

In this final installment, the depth of Eva and Ari's bond as skúma and familiar is tested against the backdrop of a world in upheaval. The narrative does an admirable job of maintaining tension and intrigue, especially with the introduction of more fantastical elements compared to the dystopian leanings of the first book. However, this shift, while engaging, overshadows the opportunity for character development, particularly for our protagonists, whose personal growth seems stagnant amidst the chaos.

The characters' consistency, though a testament to Colin's character portrayal, becomes a double-edged sword. Eva and Ari's persistent frustrations and the lack of evolution in their relationship dynamics, against the backdrop of their world's dramatic transformation, highlight a missed opportunity for deeper character exploration. Their actions and reactions, while understandable, tread familiar ground without offering the growth one might expect from a series' conclusion.

Furthermore, the inclusion of 'spice' in this installment suggests a narrative maturity that might be better suited for a New Adult audience rather than Young Adult. The content, while not explicit, ventures beyond the typical bounds of YA, echoing sentiments I've shared in reviews of the trilogy's earlier books. Readers should be mindful of this distinction when diving into the series.

Despite these critiques, 'Storm of the Seven Sins' captivates with its rich world-building and the resolution of the overarching plot. The book manages to keep the reader engaged through to the end, offering a conclusion that, while not without its flaws, is compelling and thought-provoking.

Colin's storytelling prowess shines through in her ability to craft a world that is as enchanting as it is dangerous. The series as a whole offers a unique blend of dystopian and fantasy elements that will appeal to fans looking for an intricate narrative filled with magic, conflict, and love.

'Storm of the Seven Sins' rounds out the Seven Sins trilogy in a manner that will satisfy longtime followers while inviting contemplation about the paths not taken, especially in terms of character development. It remains a recommendable read for those invested in Eva and Ari's story, albeit with considerations regarding its intended audience and the portrayal of its central characters.

I'd like to express my gratitude to Emily Colin for providing me with an Advance Reader Copy (ARC) of 'Storm of the Seven Sins.' This review reflects my honest opinions and insights into the book.

“I see you,” I tell him, gripping the hilt of my blade. “To the blackened depth of your soul. And I tell you now, if you sacrifice Eva to save Cordelia, I will end your life.”

When I started reading Sword of the Seven Sins by Emily Colin, the first book in The Seven Sins series, I had no idea that this series would become one of my favorites. Through Siege of the Seven Sins, the second book and now Storm of the Seven Sins, this series is one of the best series I have read. And I have read many.

Storm of the Seven Sins starts right after the conclusion (cliffhanger) in Siege. The Executor has escaped and Eva and Ari want revenge and also find Eva’s missing mother. From the very first page we get thrown into the action. Thanks to the fantastic fast paced writing style I simply could not stop reading. This is a book that has got a hold on you, from the first page until the very last.

Eva is a terrific character, fierce, loyal and wants revenge, but she also wants to protect people, especially Ari, and therefore she is willing to sacrifice herself if it should come to that. She is also very stubborn and sometimes I wanted to yell at her. Ari is a great warrior, fierce, and loves Eva and he is someone who will burn the world to keep her safe. His loyalty and love shines through every action and words.

Eva is the same, but for somewhat other reasons. They are characters you root for and they just jump off the pages. They are destined for eachother, even as Sebastian, Eva’s would be mate, thinks otherwise. He is sometimes not a very likable person. He has a big secret and during the story we learn more about him. The other characters come across great as well. When you root for characters or hate one (if you have read the books you know who I mean), that is a sign that the author has done a terrific job. The worldbuilding which started in Sword is fantastic, as is the magic system. Both are described wonderful. The dual POV is amazing, you can just feel every emotion Ari and Eva go through.

Storm of the Seven Sins is a fantastic conclusion to a great series, with a lot of action. There are also unexpected twists and turns. In this series you find everything you need: it’s a rollercoaster of emotions, with fantastic characters, a flowing, fast paced and mesmerizing writing style, there is romance, betrayal, magic, a love triangle which makes you root for Eva and Ari (sorry, Sebastian), a forbidden love, star crossed lovers, reunion, fantastic shapesfifter magic, and so much more.

If you have not read this series, run to your bookstore and start reading.

STORM of the Seven Sins by Emily Colin!
Emily thank you so much for the opportunity to read STORM as an ARC!

I honestly don’t know how to put my feelings into words.
STORM had me emotionally vulnerable.

“I feared what I would become if I lost her. And then… I did. And it almost destroyed me.”
Page 167

-------------------------------------------

Dual Point of Views
I have previously expressed my admiration for Emily's writing style and would like to reiterate my appreciation for her use of a dual point of view in this series. This approach engages the reader and provides insight into the thoughts and decision-making processes of both main characters.
Overall, the dual point of view enhances the understanding and appreciation of the story.

-------------------------------------------

ACTION
Get ready for an explosive journey that will leave you on the edge of your seat. STORM is a thrilling adventure that will take you through heart-pumping battles, as they risk it all to save the taken, overthrow the Executor and destroy the Commonwealth.

Each page is filled with non-stop action, and you won't be able to put it down until you reach the end. Brace yourself for an unforgettable ride, as you witness the characters' bravery and determination in the face of impossible odds.

-------------------------------------------

ROMANCE
Throughout the series, Ari and Eva encounter numerous obstacles and challenges, but despite all odds, their relationship ultimately prevails. Witnessing their perseverance and the development of their relationship was truly heartwarming.

While the relationship between Ari and Eva defies all odds and emerges as a testament to the power of love, not every character is as fortunate, and some suffer the bitter sting of heartbreak and emotional devastation. The tragic fate of these relationships left me weeping and heartbroken.

-------------------------------------------

From the moment I began reading the Seven Sins Series, I was transported to a world of wonder and adventure. The stories were so captivating that I found myself completely engrossed, unable to put them down until I had devoured every last page.

Emily's writing is truly exceptional, evoking vivid imagery and emotions that left me feeling overwhelmed and emotionally vulnerable. I cannot express enough gratitude for this incredible series that has brought me so much joy and excitement.

Storm of the Seven Sins by Emily Colin is an absolutely breathtaking, heart-wrenching continuation of a series that just keeps getting better and better. This book takes everything I loved about the first two novels—epic romance, high stakes, and rich, immersive settings—and turns it up to eleven. If you’re looking for fierce characters, a gripping plot, and an unforgettable romance, Storm of the Seven Sins will not disappoint.

Eva and Ari, now bonded as skúma and familiar, are stronger than ever—unbeatable on the battlefield and connected in ways they’ve never been before. But even as their bond deepens, their relationship is tested by their conflicting desires. Eva is determined to take down the Commonwealths and the man she despises above all—the Executor. Ari, however, struggles with the price of unity between the Houses and the cost of war. Their opposing views tear them apart, leading to a heartbreaking rift that may just separate them forever.

The emotional tension between Eva and Ari is palpable in this book. The chemistry is electric, but their struggles—both as individuals and as a couple—make this relationship one of the most complex and compelling I’ve read in a long time. As Eva’s powers spiral out of control and Ari uncovers unexpected revelations about his past, their journey becomes even more fraught with danger and heartache. I couldn’t put the book down as I watched them face impossible choices, torn between love and survival.

The setting of the story is as immersive as ever. The stakes are higher, the action more intense, and the twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat. Colin expertly weaves together romance, action, and emotional depth, making Storm of the Seven Sins a standout in the dystopian fantasy genre. The ending will leave you breathless and eagerly waiting for the next book.

A huge thank you to Emily Colin for providing me with an ARC of this amazing book. Storm of the Seven Sins is an absolute must-read for fans of addictive fantasy with strong characters, a slow-burn romance, and plot twists that will break your heart.

The exhilarating finale to a saga that has captivated me from the very start! This epic conclusion sees Eva and Ari, now bonded as skúma and familiar, facing their toughest challenges yet. With the Commonwealths at stake and their love tested, the story unfolds in a breathtaking narrative that had me on the edge of my seat.

The romantic tension between Ari and Eva is palpable and heart-wrenching. Eva's internal struggle, torn between a political marriage and following her heart, adds a layer of emotional depth that enriches the story. Her journey to control the wildness within and rise as the hero the world needs is both inspiring and intense.

The introduction of the mages, whose existence is intertwined with Eva’s, adds a new, thrilling dimension to the conflict. Sebastian, the panther prince, was delightful yet again. He's trying to be charming, but his over-the-top swagger sometimes comes off as cringe and had me rolling. But what I loved the most was seeing 'insignificant' characters step up to become heroes in their own right. Their unexpected bravery has me cheering all the way through!

If I have any disappointment, it's that I wanted to see more of Ari and Eva together. Their romance is one of my favorite parts of this series and what made the first book to die for. I understand why they had to be apart so much, but I ended up longing for them to be together almost more than they did! Lol!

In conclusion, Storm is a masterful blend of high stakes, emotional depth, and character development. It’s a fitting end to a series that has been a rollercoaster of emotions and action. It concludes an already incredible series, making this whole trilogy not one to miss!

"Storm of Seven Sins" is not just a story; it's an emotional rollercoaster that took me on a journey through the depths of love and the tumult of war. Eva and Ari aren't just characters on a page; they're friends whose struggles I felt in my very soul.

As their bond as skúma and familiar deepens, I found myself rooting for them, cheering on their victories and mourning their losses as if they were my own. Their ability to understand each other on a level that goes beyond words made their love feel real and raw, something I could reach out and touch.

But then, the Executor's disappearance tore them apart, and I felt that pain acutely. Eva's determination to take down the Commonwealths clashed with Ari's reservations, and I found myself torn between them, desperately hoping they could find a way back to each other.

When chaos erupted with the strike against the Brotherhood stronghold, my heart raced with theirs, fearing for their safety and the future of their cause. Eva's struggle with her powers and Ari's confrontation with his beliefs hit me like a punch to the gut, leaving me breathless and desperate for resolution.

As they faced the possibility of a future apart, I felt their anguish as if it were my own. Their journey became my journey, their triumphs my triumphs, and their pain my pain. And while the ending left me yearning for more, I couldn't help but be grateful for the experience, for the chance to immerse myself so completely in a world where love truly is the only salvation.

I received an arc and this is my honest opinion. This series is not on KU!

”Now and forever, I choose you.”

Ok. So this book.

I want to preface and just say thank you for the opportunity to arc this series, it truly has been a pleasure. The writing itself is fantastic, the storyline has been so engaging and there’s so much going on that it’s easy to just fall into this world.

Now this book, I’m not going to lie, Eva had me so mad so many times. I understand her reasoning and where she was coming from but dammit woman! The beginning of this book had me wanting to violently shake some sense in her so she would just listen.

The love triangle in this was a source of much frustration for me and quite frankly, Sebastian sucks. I am very much team Ari and just watching everything unfold had me sat here going, ”what the ever loving hell are you doing?!”

I like books that get a visceral reaction like that from me. It really does just add to how invested you get into the character arcs!

Moving on past this, seeing the storyline come to fruition has been great. Emily has always flowed a nice amount of action through these books and it really does help break things up and shift it along. The introduction of the mages and the battles with them were honestly among my favourite scenes! The blend between magic and science was also really cool.

I would totally recommend this series and thank you again for letting me read it. That ending was very much the closure I wanted and needed. It helped me not be so mad at Eva.

The conclusion has come for the Seven Sins series. Eva and Ari are back for one last call. War is coming, and the question now is – who will come out the other side?
Book two ended on a jaw-dropping cliffhanger that surely left readers ready to go nuts with questions. Well, book three is here to answer those questions, bring more drama, and an epic conclusion to it all. Though we’re surely not the only ones hoping to return to this world sometime in the future.
Eva and Ari have problems and those problems are about to continue multiplying. Secrets and threats are swirling all around them. Who can they really trust? Eva’s parentage is now out in the open, and it’s not the best. But you can’t choose who you’re related to.
Another faction is out on a quest for power and the skuma are the batteries they crave. The time for change has finally come, but if Eva isn’t careful her ambition to show she can stand on her own will be her undoing.
Book three is packed with so much you’ll eagerly devour this book. The pacing is slower than book two, but it’s still an interesting story. Hoping for an epic battle? The author doesn’t disappoint in that element, so get excited.
Hoping for a “sweet” HEA? Well, what you’re going to get is a mixed bag, but it just adds to the story. Just be sure to grab some tissues first.
At the end of the day, this book is worth reading especially if you enjoyed the previous ones in this series.

REVIEW
This was the epic conclusion to Emily Colin’s amazing Seven Sins series. As you might recall from my reviews of the previous two books, I have been quite in love with this series. This was a near-perfect ending to the story even though it wasn’t a five-star read for me. The main reason for that is that I found part of the story a bit predictable but not in a way that annoyed me.

A lot of things happen in this book and it’s a perfect example of how to draw all the different stories to a neat end. I, hands down, love Emily’s writing-style and it’s part of what makes these books great in my opinion. She is so good at painting the picture for you and including all the feelings which just makes it a pleasure reading.

SPOILERS
This is definitely a matter of opinion, but I wouldn’t have minded if Eva’s captivity with her mother had been drawn out a bit and if their escape was a bit more complicated. I liked the ending of the book, but it would have been even better if it had been more high-stakes and more questionable if everyone made it out alive. I guess I just love being pained by not knowing who survives and in which state.

Side note: I’m completely in love with Gentian and his sweet but rebellious personality. I feel Emily makes some really great general points through his behaviour that we all can learn from.

To not spoil books 1 and 2, I will talk about Storm in vague terms. Storm picks up right after the final shocking reveals of Siege and Eva and Ari need to pick up the pieces of those events. Their enemy now has a new face and not only Eva and Ari at risk of losing all that they love, but so is their entire world.

I loved that we got to delve even deeper into where Eva and Ari came from. There was so much character and relationship development. Emily has built a great world and put interesting characters in it, not only the main ones but all the characters. I adored that at the conclusion of the book we come full circle back to one of my favourite scenes from Sword of the Seven Sins.

If you like fantasy with complex and rich relationships, political intrigue, forbidden love, enemies-to-lovers and action & adventure, this series is for you.

Having waited almost 3 years for the conclusion to this series, where I was constantly checking in how Emily was progressing, I am completely satisfied with the conclusion. I received an eARC from the author in exchange for an honest review but have also purchased the book.

“I know we never made each other any promises, but you have always been my forever.” 💚

Ari the man that you are!! He’s easily my favorite character of this entire series (no surprise there) but what surprised me the most about this last book in particular was how much I also loved the side characters!! Gentian was definitely my fav!! And I absolutely think him and Jaxon are such a great match for each other! 😊

This book picks up right where book 2 left off aka right in the middle of all the action. This one definitely kept me on the edge of my seat and I loved how the story was able to wrap up!

I will admit that I almost fell for Sebastian at times, especially when he named Eva’s panther but deep down I know that no one could top Ari for me as my fav. He’s suffered so much throughout this series and almost lost everything, so I’m extremely happy he was able to get a happy ending!

I adored this series and these characters and am going to miss them (which always happens every time I wrap up a series). 😭

Thank you so much @emilycolinbooks for providing me with copies of this amazing series! Your writing is top notch and I can’t wait to see what you come up with next! ♥️

The third book in the Seven Sins series was everything I was hoping it would be. I did not want to put it down because it completely sucked me me. By the third book of a series you become very invested in the lives of the characters and the outcome of the book. There was a lot of tension and suspense throughout the book. At times a was a little upset with choices the main characters made, but they both always had the best of intentions. I was always rooting for them! I said this before in my previous reviews of the first two books, but I really do love the dual POV of the two main characters. I loved seeing what was going on with both of them and getting both their thoughts. I also enjoyed the way everything tied together in the end, and you should really read the novellas that go along with the series to appreciate all the connections. By the end, Seven Sins will break your heart and then put in back together multiple times. This series does not get the hype it deserves, but I am definitely giving it an extremely enthusiastic 5 out of 5 stars!

This was a stunning conclusion to an amazing series— a unique blend of dystopian, fantasy and romance that delivers a heart-thumping and thrilling ride. It's chocked full with spectacular world-building, action, twists and turns, and heart-rending romance.

The characters are what truly shine here—Colin has built a vivid and believable world, and invited us to experience it through her strong and distinctive characters.

Ari Westergaard is an irresistable main character—an arrogant, strong-headed killer you cannot help but love. His journey is one you won't soon forget. And Eva? Has there ever been more of a badass? Colin's characters are tough but achingly vulnerablity and you can't help by be deeply moved by them. And while the main characters are utterly compelling, the secondary characters each have their own captivating arc.

If you have read the entire series and want more, you owe it to yourself to read the two collections of short stories in the incredible world Emily Colin has constructed.

I enjoyed this series a lot leading up to this final book. My favorite were the short stories the author recommends to read before this book. Still, this final book in the trilogy fell short for me.

We STILL are going back and forth between Eva and Ari about Eva's decision to marry or not marry Sebastian. I hated this back-and-forth that lasted way, way too long. The action scenes felt too rushed and I was not invested in the characters by the end of the book.

I am big on endings, and this one seemed rush. There still seems so much to be told. I get the author may have left it open ended to let the reader decide, but I did not like it. SPOILER: the book ends when Ari and Eva FINALLY sleep together, then it ends. Just right there. No conclusion beyond that. I felt like it was such a weak ending.

Overall, I enjoyed the series, but this final book dragged on and took me forever to read.

You need to read this! Storm of the Seven Sins had me hooked and biting my nails to the very end.

This series is so unique, and well written. Emily Colin built a beautiful world and was able to write characters that are like valued friends. They are so well written and real. I've loved Eva and Ari from the word go. Well, if I am honest I have also hated them at times. Okay, not Ari, I always love Ari. But that is how it is with real friends right? You can love them and hate them all at once. Side characters like Kilian and Jaxon really came into their own in this finale. And Gentian was a bright spot in showing up at the perfect time.

The dual POV perspective was the perfect mix of view point. The tension of Eva and Ari's relationship is so real and palpable if felt it in my bones.

Somewhat disappointing

I really looked forward to the conclusion to this series.

The war didn’t disappoint. But the easy solutions didn’t ring true.

Could Ari be any more contradictory? At least Eva finally grew out of her anger and impetus to destroy. She paid a high price to make that progress though, and that was a semi-realistic character arc.

While I thought the intertwining of all the magics was interesting, it didn’t fully make sense. If I want to keep a skuma weak, just separate them from their familiar, and then they can’t shift. Oh, mages? They are super powerful if they can access a skuma’s magic.

At least the bad guys got their comeuppance in the end, but some of the good guys also had to pay.

While the ending was okay, it didn’t give a clear sense of what life for Ari and Eva looked like in this “free” society they helped create.

This story is magically written. Falling in love with the characters was inevitable. Love was a beautiful theme throughout. Relationships bloom on many levels over each page. Nonstop action and secrets revealed. Villains around every corner skimming to use people to gain personal power, control, or revenge.

I was not prepared for the ending of this amazing series. My heart was all in. Pulling every emotion from me and was everything I didn't know I needed. I shed tears, had chills, was angry, and even laughed several times. I can not recommend this series enough. Start from the beginning, and end on a bang with this perfect 5-star read! Just be prepared for your heart strings pulled throughout.

This is the action-packed finale to the Seven Sins series. There is so much happening in this book that you actually do feel like you’re in the middle of things. It is a dual POV book which helps keeping you engrossed and you don’t actually know what is going to happen.

The characters are what makes this book good. The author has really paid attention to them and have helped them become fully formed in the reader’s mind. There are times that you get annoyed with one or two but like any human it’s par for the course so it works well.

Lots of surprises that come about in this book- I don’t want to mention because I don’t want to ruin the other books for new readers. But let’s say there is a ‘cloak and dagger’ feel to a few situations that will have you guessing all the way to the end!

I was lucky enough to get this book as an ARC and i loved it so much. the tension and heart stopping moments had me holding my breath. it is beautifully written in such a way i felt truly connected to the characters. i spent many hours totally wrapped up in this amazing world the author has created. the imagination behind it is brilliant and i cant wait to read more if this authors work.
the journey i went on with Eva and Ari was one i wont soon be forgetting. this is a series i would love to come back and read again. i would have liked a bit more spice but even without it this book has me wanting more. if you want a great read that has hunger games/ throne of glass and divergent vibes then this is a book for you. this is an author to keep your eye on for when she brings out more books.
